Chapter 1

She groaned in pain as a sickening snap sounded in the air. Her body fell to the floor as the door slammed open and her neck snapped to the side.

A howl left her mouth while her own husband watched in fear as he took a step back.

"Run" was the last word she could mutter before her rationality faded and she succumbed into the darkness it brought.

He took to his heels immediately looking back at different intervals.

She growled at him and tears escaped his eyes as he ran out of the house.

She jumped using her claws to slash him but he squatted dodging the attack.

"Ava!" Thomas yelled fearfully and she faced him, her eyes glowing bright golden under the full moon.

The brightness of the moon made her turn her head to the moon and the urge to howl struck her immediately.

A loud howl escaped her lips and Thomas stepped back wiping his tears.

She snapped her head towards him and he started his run once more.

She charged towards him and jumped. He turned and a loud scream left his lips when her canines met with his arm.

"Ava!!!" He cried as blood gushed out of his wound.

Something snapped in her and she got her sanity back.

She rushed into the room and changed back to normal. She put on a night gown and a robe before running to the garden where she saw him sitting on the ground still bleeding profusely.

"Thomas" She called tears welling up in her eyes.

He turned immediately.

"You're a werewolf" He muttered shockingly, moving backwards clutching onto his bleeding arm.

She started walking closer.

"Stay back!!!!" He yelled and she stopped on her tracks.

"I got married to a werewolf" He repeated and shook his head.

"Thomas I'm so sorry. I wasn't in my right senses" She cried, staring at his bleeding arm.

"Look what you did to me Ava. Look what you fucking did!!!" He yelled and she ran her fingers through her hair.

"I'm so sorry. It wasn't intentional. Please Thomas forgive me." She said and he looked elsewhere.

"Ava" He called and then looked at his hand that was hurting so badly.

It took a lot for him not to cry again.

She walked to him and squatted in front of him staring at his wounded arm.

"Thomas. Please don't tell anyone about me. Please." She said looking up at him and he looked at her.

"When did you plan on telling me?" He asked.

"When the right time comes." She muttered tears rolling down her eyelids.

He thought of something before smiling.

"I won't tell anyone. I love you too much to do that." He said and she smiled but then she frowned.

"You're lying." She said and he realized werewolves could detect if one is lying or not.

He groaned in pain before speaking.

"I'm not. I love you Ava and I won't tell anyone" He said composing himself pretty well so she wouldn't detect that he's lying.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes honey." He said and she smiled hugging him.

He winced and she broke the hug.

"I'm sorry." She said,

"No it's fine." He replied with a smile.

"Let's go to sleep now. I'm exhausted." He said.

"Sure" She replied and they both stood. He had a frown on his face as they walked slowly into the house and went into the room.

He kept groaning at regular intervals and he looked at the arm wondering if he was being bitten again cos the pain multiplied.

She got a first aid kit and came towards him cleaning the wound before bandaging it.

"Good night" She said and he smiled.

"Same" He replied and they both laid on the bed facing different angles.

12AM ~~

Ava was deep in slumber when Thomas stealthily got down from bed.

He went downstairs and opened the door. He walked to his neighbors and woke them up telling them about Ava. He went to all the houses in the street and told them about Ava.

They all gathered together in front of Thomas' house with different weapons.

"This is what that creature of a wife did to me" Thomas said removing the bandage on his arm and showed them the bite from Ava.

They gasped in shock stepping back from him. He chuckled before wrapping the bandage back on his arm.

"We really need to kill her" One said, making them fall into seconds of silence as Thomas thought of ways to go about it.

"How?" He asked, when he couldn't figure anything out.

"According to a research I made years ago, stabbing a werewolf with a silver knife or wolfsbane could kill it. I only have a silver knife so we can use that" One said.

Thomas didn't hesitate in telling the man to bring the weapons, the fact that they were killing a werewolf that night seemed to excite him despite the person in question being his wife. They looked at each other, a devilish smirk playing on their faces.

Thomas gaze darted to the people right in front of him as he asked if they remembered the plan.

After confirming that they were still aligning and they all remembered what they talked about, they dashed into the house, aggressively moving towards Ava's room.

Thomas brought out the silver knife from his pocket and went into the room.

"I loved you Ava but I can't have a werewolf as a wife" He said walking towards her. He stopped in front of her and raised the knife up.

"Die!!" He yelled and lowered the knife wanting to stab her but she rolled away from her spot looking at him.

"How could you?" She asked, trying to keep her cool.

"You're a werewolf and I hate werewolves" He said and tried striking her with the knife but she shifted again but not quick enough so it tore her a bit and her eyes shone a bright shade of golden.

She kicked him and he flew to the wall falling flat on the ground with a loud groan.

She exhaled before getting down from the bed walking to the door. She got out and went downstairs but she was shocked when she saw the neighbors inside.

She ran back upstairs and they ran after her.

She went to the window and jumped down landing on her feet.

She changed into a werewolf and ran speedily away from that place.

"After her!!!!!" Thomas yelled standing up from the ground.

His arm started bleeding a little as he stood limping out of the room.

They all left the house running after her.

Ava's breaths were unstable as she tried to run faster but the slight cut on her arm prevented her from doing that.

She stopped to catch her breath but then she sensed something coming her way. She wasn't quick to move so the silver bullet grazed her arm.

She winced before continuing her run. She ran into the woods and another bullet came grazing her other arm. She winced but kept running though her pace reduced.

Another bullet came hitting her leg and she fell to the floor and changed back to her human form.

She inhaled looking at her injured arms and leg. Blood was already escaping from the wounds.

She stood up and wrapped herself with the palm leaf she saw on a tree. She began limping away and she kept looking back to see if they were coming. She turned her head forward but she bumped into a hard chest and she staggered back.

She looked up at the person and gasped.

It was a vampire.

Her eyes shone brightly as she glared at him.

"Step aside" He growled and she gulped moving away.

He sped away and she bit her lips before limping away. When she got to one part of the forest, she realized she was surrounded.

"There's nowhere else to go werewolf, give up now and let us kill you" Thomas said and she frowned.

"I left my clan because of you Thomas. I loved you but this is how you wanna repay me?" She asked angrily.

"I loved you too but after finding out you're a werewolf, the love disappeared" He said and she rushed to him, slashing him with her claws.

He groaned slightly as he moved back feeling the thorn flesh bleed as he squeezed his eyes shut and gritted his teeth to hold in the pain.

The people around fired bullets but she dodged all of them.

'She left her mum and dad because of him. She disappointed them because of him and this is all he has to say?!' She thought and used her claw to slash him again.

He spat out blood and rose the knife. He wanted to stab her again but she held his hand. She smiled and put her hand inside his chest getting hold of his heart.

"If I'm dying, you'll die with me" She said and pulled out his heart from his chest.

Blood escaped his lips and he fell to the ground. He looked at the sky and closed his eyes as he took his last breath.

She smirked and threw the knife away. She tried standing but the wounds didn't let her. She couldn't heal quickly because it's silver.

She fell to the ground losing consciousness.

The guy who gave them the silver knife came closer with it and was about to cut off her head when a vampire super speed and stabbed him with his claws on the chest.

He let go of the knife and fell to the ground. He died.

Lucian looked at the rest of the humans. His cold gaze bored into their souls and in one swift move he grabbed one of them by the neck and tore off his head without his expression changing.

The rest got scared and started running away but he was faster so he killed all of them by pulling out their hearts.

He brought out a handkerchief from his back pocket and used it to slowly wipe his hands before dropping it on the ground.

He stared down at Ava before carrying her up in his arms.

A figure who was running through the bushes sighted him and he let out a smirk.

"I finally found the vampire" he muttered.

Chapter 2

DEEP WITHIN THE HUMBOLDT REDWOODS STATE PARK, NEAR THE TOWN OF GARBERVILLE ~~ CALIFORNIA.

Nestled among the ancient, towering redwoods, Eternal Shadows castle is crafted from the living trees themselves, with twisted branches and trunks forming the foundation, walls, and towers. The castle's architecture seems to grow organically from the forest floor, blending seamlessly into the surroundings. Mist and fog swirl around the castle, casting an eternal gloom, perfect for a vampire's lair.

The castle is hidden from mortal eyes by a ring of giant ferns, and a crystal-clear river flows nearby, providing a source of fresh water and a soothing background melody. The forest is teeming with wildlife, but none dare approach the castle, sensing the dark presence within.

Garberville is the town where vampires live like humans. Humans once resided in Garberville but they were all killed by the strongest vampire alive... Lucian's father, Edmond and now the power has been transferred to his only son.

ETERNAL SHADOWS ~~ CASTLE

"You would have died when I killed you Lunã" A voice said and the lady who was tied down looked up.

"Even if you kill me now, I will still keep reincarnating and I will come for you" She said and the person smiled.

"I'll kill your next reincarnation just like how I killed your previous ones" He said and stabbed the silver knife into her chest going straight to her heart.

She fell to the ground as her eyes shone a bright shade of golden. Her body went limp and her spirit left her body. Her eye color changed back to black.

Ava sprang up breathing heavily.

"What just happened?" She muttered.

She suddenly felt a slight pain in her chest region and she touched it.

The exact place the lady in the dream was stabbed, that's the exact place that's aching.

"Who is she?" She asked.

"And who's that monster, he certainly didn't look like a werewolf" She said,

'How would you know when you didn't see their faces?' Her subconscious mind said and she rolled her eyes.

She then remembered what her father said when she left the clan.

"My daughter here has broken one of our rules" He started and she looked at him.

"What are you doing?" She asked him but he ignored.

"Therefore, I hereby banish her from our clan" He said and gasps were heard.

She looked at her mum who looked away from her.

"She has no right to ever return to this clan. And no one is allowed to help her. If I find out any one of you is on speaking terms with her, that person will be eliminated" He said and people began murmuring.

"What if I don't want to leave?" She asked and he looked at her.

His eyes shone a dark shade of yellow and he smirked.

"I will have you killed" He said and her eyes widened.

"Take your things and leave" He said and she blinked before folding her fists tightly.

She sighed and then she felt a presence in the room.

She turned to the other side and saw two men standing there.

"Oh my fuck" She said jumping down the bed.

She stayed at the other side far from the men.

She looked at herself and saw she still had the leaf on. Her injuries were healed already.

"Who are you and why am I here?" She asked and the men looked at each other.

The door opened and a tall domineering figure stepped inside. He walked past the two men standing there and her eyes widened when she saw it was the vampire whom she bumped into.

"Why did you bring me here?" Ava asked, frowning deeply.

"That's not a good way of saying thank you!" His cold voice sounded.

"I never asked for your help yunno so why should I thank you?" She asked.

"Then you will repay me" He said his cold eyes roaming her body.

"Pay you back?!! Why would I do that when I never asked for your help?!!" She yelled and in a second, he was standing in front of her.

His hand was on her neck already and she was dangling in the air as she gasped for breath. His eyes shone a deep shade of red and she tried breaking free from his grip.

"I saved you werewolf and you will repay me" He said coldly.

"I never asked for your help vampire" She said and he threw her to the wall there.

She groaned as she tried standing up.

He came to her front and she stood immediately slashing him with her claw, her eyes were golden already.

He smirked as the wound closed up.

"You want to fight? So be it" He said and left her side. He looked at his men and they understood what he meant.

He sped out of there immediately.

His men did the same and came back in 2 seconds throwing her a pair of clothes.

"Get dressed and meet master at the garden" One of them said and she scoffed.

REDWOOD FOREST ~~ CALIFORNIA

"Honey, do you think leaving our daughter out there is the right thing to do?" Luciana asked.

"No it's not but she broke a rule. If I agree to that then more people in the clan will follow in her footsteps, I can't let that happen. Plus, she needs to learn her lesson. Humans can't be trusted and I think she'll only learn it, the hard way" He said and Luciana sighed.

"I miss my daughter Lucas" She said tears welling up in her eyes.

He pulled her into a hug and spoke.

"I miss her too. I miss her craziness a lot"

"If she comes back, please can you forgive her and let her in?" Luciana asked, looking up at him.

"Let's wait till she comes back okay?" He said and she nodded.

Lucas was the only one present in the room since Luciana went out for a stroll.

He heard a knock on the door and he told the person to come in.

"How's she?" He asked the werewolf.

He told the werewolf to keep tabs on her and that's exactly what he's doing.

"She's fine. She was betrayed by her fiance though" He said and Lucas frowned.

"Where is he now?"

"She killed him" He said and Lucas smiled.

"Very good. Now where is she?" Lucas asked.

"She was almost killed by some group of people but then a vampire saved her and since then, I have no idea where she is" He said and his eyes widened.

"What?!!"

ETERNAL SHADOWS ~~ CASTLE

"What if I don't want to go"

"Then you're losing your head" He said his eyes glowing red.

"Fine" She said and walked to him.

She took it from him forcefully before going into the restroom.

It was quite wide but she was not in the mood to admire. She took off the leaves and did a quick shower before putting on a black cropped flay short sleeve shirt and a pair of black jeans.

She arranged her hair before leaving the restroom.

"This way" He said and she followed them.

The stairs were so many that she stopped walking.

"How do you expect us to get down?" She asked and they turned.

She looked down and smirked.

"I've found a way" She said and jumped over the stairs, it was quite high but she jumped down and did a little flip with her hair.

She smirked before leaving the castle.

She sighted Lucian standing in the garden backing her.

"I'm here" She said and he turned a side view of his face to her.

"You're still healing, I can't fight a weak werewolf" He said and she frowned.

"I'm not weak" She snapped an he turned to her.

"If you aren't weak, you wouldn't have been hurt by your human." He said and she scoffed.

"I was able to prevent him from stabbing me"

"But you weren't able to prevent the injuries" He said and she rolled her eyes.

"I wasn't even aware that they planned something like that" She said and he chuckled.

"The question I even want to ask is, why the heck would you go marry a human? A human that hates the creatures of the night?" He asked and she bit her lips.

"I was in love" She muttered.

"In love?" He asked and laughed.

"You just don't learn your lesson do you?! You keep falling in love with the wrong person and at the end, you end up getting killed. Is that what you mean by love?" He snapped and she frowned.

"What do you mean?" She asked and he scoffed walking out of her but she stopped him by standing in his front.

"Ex...."

"Get your slutty face outta my sight" He said and she felt a little sting in her chest before moving away.

He sped into the mansion and she sighed sitting on the grass.

"I see Lucian has a guest" Gorya said and she looked at her.

"Who are you?" Ava asked standing up.

"I'm Gorya. The maid" She said and Ava looked at her clothes.

"You don't look like a maid" Ava said.

"You don't look like the Lunã" She retorted.

"Huh?"

"Let's go inside" She said,

"I don't want to go there. I want to go explore" Ava said and she chuckled.

"The people of Garberville are aware Master Lucian is holding you captive, once you leave this castle, you'll die" She said and walked away.

"This is so unfair" She said pouting.

She looked around the castle and wowed at it.

"Can you take me on a tour around the place? Please?" She asked and Gorya nodded.

"Follow me" Gorya said and started walking to the garden.

"How can this pretty castle be owned by this devil named Lucian?" She muttered while walking.

She saw the sparkling water and her eyes glittered. She ran towards it and squatted before touching it slowly.

She removed her hands immediately.

"It's so cold" She muttered before standing up.

"The water is usually cold"

"Just like Lucian?" She asked looking at Gorya with a smirk.

"So you hate my master? Someone who saved you?" Gorya asked and she looked elsewhere.

"Just because he saved me doesn't mean I should like him" She said.

"Go tell him thank you Ava" Gorya said and she looked at her.

"And how the heck do you know my name?" Ava asked.

"Thank him Ava" She said instead and sped away.

Ava blinked twice before sighing.

'You normally appreciate people when you help, what's stopping you now?' Her subconscious asked and she sighed.

"Fine" She said and ran up the hill going into the castle.

She went upstairs heading to the room and she saw him standing at the terrace.

"Urm....."

"Leave" He cut her short and she scoffed.

"Yunno, you're rude" She said and he turned a side view of his face to her before facing front.

"I know" He said and she smiled a bit before walking to stand by his side.

"Thank you for saving me yesterday" She said but he didn't reply. After few seconds, he replied.

"Okay now leave" He said and she frowned.

"Seriously?" She asked.

"Yes. I appreciate your thanks but I need to be alone. Leave. I don't want to repeat myself" His cold voice said and she chuckled.

"You said you'd kill me. Why haven't you done that yet, huh?" She asked and he faced her.

"I will kill you werewolf, soon but not now. Leave" He said his eyes turning red.

"Fine. You don't have to be too serious about it" She said and walked past him.

He frowned and stood straight.

Even the slightest bit of fear didn't appear in her eyes. If it were other werewolves or humans or vampires, they would be stuttering but she's different obviously cos she's different.

He smirked before going inside as well. He sped downstairs settling on a chair there.

Gorya served breakfast and Ava just came downstairs wearing a black short flay dress and a pair of black boots.

She sat on the chair opposite Lucian.

She looked at the food and furrowed her brows. It was raw meat and then she looked at the glass of human blood.

"Ew!! What's this?!!" She exclaimed and Lucian who was sipping from the blood he was drinking looked up.

"That's food. Eat up" He said and she pushed it aside.

"I ain't eating this. Neither am I drinking this" She said and he dropped the glass of blood on the table.

"What do you want to eat then?" He asked and she smiled.

"Fried chicken and a glass of red wine" She said and his eyes widened a bit.

Gorya looked at the werewolf and smiled.
