"What were you thinking? You! Smoking? You're not a smoker Chloe, do not smoke" Sandy said to her friend.

"Why?" Chloe said back. "Medically, it's not good and you weren't like this before, What changed?" Mandy asked her. " Everything changed when that bastard left my mum, who the hell does he think he is to just walk out of our lives? Mum has been heartbroken, it's driving her insane,she yells at me for no reason and you think I'm okay? Chloe said tearing up. "Ohh Chloe, you'll be fine, Sandy and I are here for you, even if anyone walks out of your life, we both will be here forever". Mandy said. "I know, thanks, you both are my team for life, but my mum....I'm worried about her". Chloe said. "Your mum is not a baby anymore, it's just a phase, she'll pass I promise. She's just heartbroken, recall when Will left me, I was so heartbroken but I finally came over it, I promise she'll be okay." Mandy said. "Thank you Mandy" Chloe said. Sandy rolled her eyes.

Chloe was an eighteen year old young lady, she was very beautiful with blue eyes and golden hair. She sings beautifully and wants to be a successful star, her best friends Sandy and Mandy were identical twins. Mandy the softer twin was very emotional, brilliant, good-looking and a girl of many words, she talks a lot not minding if the listener was listening properly, she had brown long hair which reaches her waist and hazel eyes. Sandy on the other hand was the direct opposite of her sister, she talked less and had more action, she had beaten up a lot of boys and had dated no one. She cut her hair short and tinted it black,she always wore dark eyeliner and dressed like a man. Chloe loved both of dearly.

Chloe and her mum had moved from Canada to New York after her father was killed, she was 7 years old then, she met Sandy and Mandy two days after moving in. They were the opposite neighbors and they had an older brother called Mark. Unfortunately, Chloe's mum relocated again to another street but the friendship between the girls was already born and they wouldn't hesitate to visit each other. Chloe's mum Margaret detested the twins coming to her house because Sandy always broke her stuff. "I'm sorry Miss Margaret". Sandy always said but destroys something else later. Chloe had another friend who was a guy, his name was Alex, he was every girl's dream guy, but he preferred to hang out with the three girls and doing the lady's thing. He rarely visits Chloe because of her mum.

Margaret started seeing Elliot when Chloe was eleven and he became a part of their lives until he broke up with her leaving Margaret devastated and really shattered.

"Hey Sugar" Chloe said as she walked up to meet Alex. "Hey, Salt" Alex replied and grinned. "Or better still Lemon, because you're always bitter" He said laughing as Chloe kicked him. "Ouch, Have I told you you look cute when you're mad, your nose is so red" He said still laughing. Chloe laughed too. "You're mean" She told him. "Where are your girls?" He asked her. "Somewhere around here, Whatcha doing?" She asked him. "I was just going to the cafeteria to get something, I've got an art project to submit in thirty minutes". He replied.

"That's nice, Don't forget you're to make a portrait of me" She reminded. "Oh no, you're so fat, the canvas won't be enough to draw one of you" he told her. "Hmmph" She mumbled and left with Alex chuckling behind her. "Nice to meet you again, darling". She heard and saw Steve the meanest guy in the whole school, he had asked her out before and she had politely declined but he didn't let her have peace. "Uhh..hi Steve". She said wishing Sandy was with her. "What's up baby girl? Party, Friday night,by 9pm, dress nice, I'll text you the address, don't turn me down." He said to her and left her standing perplexed. "I'm never showing up" she said to herself. After school, Sandy, Mandy and Chloe hung out at Chloe's house again. "Guess what guys" Chloe said. "You got a singing deal with a big shot?" Mandy asked enthusiastically. "You got someone for me to beat up?" Sandy asked. "Nooo, Steve wants me to go with him to a party". She said. "Well, I wasn't expecting that, so what did you tell him?" Mandy asked. "He didn't give me a chance to reply" She replied. "It's like a command kind of thing, like I really must be there" she said. "Well, I was right, someone needs some really good beating" Sandy said.

"No Sandy, no violence" Mandy said and Sandy rolled her eyes. "I actually don't know what to do, I think I should go" Chloe said. "You definitely should" Mandy said. A loud thud was heard from the building sharing a fence with Chloe's house. "You think we should check?" Chloe asked. "Yeahhh" Sandy said and went to the window. "I think Someone is moving in, because that's really a lot of stuff" She said. "Really? New neighbors?"Chloe said excitedly and went to the window too. "Let's go meet them" She said and Sandy rolled her eyes again. "Neighbours are boring especially new ones, you'd definitely meet them, except you want to join them arrange stuff" Sandy said. "Yeah, she's right" said Mandy. "Oh.. okay, I'm just glad I've got new neighbors. Sandy don't even think of rolling those eyes or I'll pluck them out" Chloe said and Sandy chuckled.

"Text me the address of the party Chloe, I'll be there and be really careful, it's not safe out there and more dangerous with Steve" Said Sandy. "Okay Mummy" Chloe said smiling.

It was 9pm on Friday.

Chloe was at the venue of the party and to make things worse it was a masked party. Steve had given her a mask to put on. She wondered how she was going to locate Sandy in the huge hall. "Fuck! Sandy, where in the world are you?" She muttered to herself. She sat beside Steve watching the party and she wasn't enjoying it one bit. A glass of wine was passed to her and she gulped it to the amusement of others sitting at the table. "You so thirsty, huh?" A guy asked. "Who gulps down a drink in such a manner! So local." Another said laughing. She expected Steve to stand up for her but he laughed too. Her cheeks turned red from the embarrassment. She wanted to leave but she couldn't, she didn't know the way out of the huge hall, she still needed Steve's help and where the hell was Sandy.

Sandy walked into the party wearing a black dress and a brown long wig, she looked odd yet beautiful and she felt stupid all dressed like that. Mandy had made her dress like this. "You're doing this for our friend" Mandy had said. Sandy rolled her eyes and tried searching for Chloe but couldn't find her. "Stupid masks! Stupid party! Stupid Sandy" She said to herself. "Do you care for a dance, beautiful?" She heard and turned to see a blonde haired guy. "What the heck? Do I look like pretty Cinderella coming to a ball?" She asked. "No beautiful, You look like a lost pretty princess" The blonde guy replied. "Sorry honey, I don't care about those compliments and I don't dance" She said and walked away. "You didn't even..." The guy said but she didn't care. Owen was his name. He chuckled to himself,this was the first time a girl had turned him down. He always charmed the ladies with his looks and flattering words but this girl seems to be different, he found her interesting and swore to get her.

Chloe still sat watching the party and looked at how all the couples were in hot romance and unmasking themselves. She caught sight of Alex kissing a girl and she laughed to herself, she almost screamed when Steve tried to kiss her and she pushed him away. "Are you fucking crazy?"She asked totally offended. "Hey, it's just a kiss" Steve explained and she gave him a resounding slap. "It's just a slap" she said and walked out leaving Steve and his friends stunned. She regretted coming to the party. "I wanna go home" She said to herself. She went to the bar and sat there alone. She brought out her phone and rang Sandy but she wasn't picking up.

"Would you like something ma'am?" The Barman asked. "Yeah, just give me one shot." She said and the Barman did as he was told. She gulped it down in one go. "Give me another" She said and he did just that.

In two minutes she had gulped down 4 shots. "

"I wouldn't take anymore if I were you" a voice said behind her and she turned to see a blonde hair guy. "You cant tell...me...wh..what to do" She stammered to the guy with her voice slurred. "That shit is fucking alcoholic, you'll just get high and this place ain't safe" He said to her. "I know, I wanna get high! I want to forget everything!" She said laughing. "Another shot please" She said to the Barman. "Don't you dare!" The guy said to the Barman. "She's pretty drunk already" "Let m..me do my .th..thing, it's n..no..ne of..ff your business" She stammered.

"What's your name?" He asked her. "My name isn't important and y..you are one h...han...dsome guy". She replied. "I'm Liam and I'm taking you out of here right now" He said. "But I just started having fun" She said sulking. "You will have all the fun, I promise" He said to her. "Ooooh, that's my jam, you l..like to dance?" She said smiling strangely. "You're really drunk miss" He said. "I'm not drunk, I'm Soo sober" She said. "Please dance with me" she said pleadingly. "Okay,fine then". He said and led her to the dance floor. He held her waist and she placed her forehead on his shoulder. Liam knew she was drunk, but he just couldn't leave her all by herself, In a short while, she dozed off while standing. He lifted her up and at the same moment bumped into Steve. "Hey, that's my girl" Steve said. "Your girl? You gotta be kidding me" Liam replied. "You left her all by herself and she's drunk" Liam said. "Chloe? Chloe!" Sandy called as soon as she saw Steve. She ran to the spot and found her fast asleep. "You drugged her, you toad! She said and at the same time punched Steve. "You were supposed to take care of her, do you intend to bed her?" She attacked. "No Sandra, She walked out on me and got drunk" He explained. "And who are you?" She said turning to Liam. "I'm Liam" He said. "I don't care about your name, Why is my friend on your arms?" She asked. "Oh, she dozed off on me" He said. "What! On you? Jeez! Now you wake up" She said waking her up. "You might want to leave her alone, she's pretty drunk. I promise I'm not an enemy, I'd take you both home if you want, my car is parked outside." He said. "Oh! Fuck, fine then, you will take us home and if you try anything stupid, I'd beat the hell out of you" She said. "Oh, okay, let's go to the car" He said and they both walked out leaving Steve standing there looking foolish.

Liam dropped Chloe in the back seat of the car and Sandy stayed there with her. "My brother is still here, I don't know if..." He said. "Just drive" Sandy ordered. "Okay, okay" He said and drove as Sandy directed him. "You've gotta be kidding me" Liam said as they got to Chloe's house. "Huh?" Sandy asked. "You've got to be fucking kidding me." He said again. "Uhh, I don't understand" Sandy said confused. "She lives here?" He asked. "Yeah, why?" She asked. "That's my house over there, we just moved in few days ago". He said. "Whoa,whoa,my goodness" Sandy said actually surprised. "Yeah..umm, you can just take her out while I drive home, I don't want her parents getting negative thoughts" He said. "Yeah, right, I'd just take her out" She said. And she took Chloe out of the car while Liam drove out.

Chloe woke up with a splitting headache. She saw Sandy at the reading table. "You finally up, sleeping beauty" Sandy said. "Yeah Sandy, but I feel like my head is about to explode" She said. "Typical" Sandy said. "You got drunk last night" She said. "Oh my God, did I do anything stupid?" She asked. "Yeah, a lot of stupid things like dancing with a guy" Sandy said. "Ooh, was he real? I thought it was a dream, he was so handsome" Chloe said. "Yeah he is real, I hope you'd recognize him when next you see him? Cuz you might be seeing him a lot of times now" Sandy said. "Of course I will recognize him, but now I need to do something about this headache" Chloe said. "Don't worry, I'd take care of that,just lay down" Sandy said and left the room to get water. Her room door was opened shortly. "Chloe! Where were you last night?" Said Margaret Chloe's mum. "Mum I went to a party" She said. "A party? When did you start going for parties? What do you think you are? Some rich kid who lives alone and does whatever she likes right?" Margaret asked and Sandy walked in. "Good morning Miss Margaret" She said. "Oh! Great, What are you doing here Sandra? Why are you both here? You're supposed to be in school not here lazying around and attending parties" Margaret said. "It's just a party mum, stop making it look like I went to a strip club" Chloe said. "You now talk back at me? Oh my goodness! Sandra has been influencing you wrongly, my Chloe never talks back at me" Margaret said and Sandy rolled her eyes. "Cut it out mum, please leave my room" Chloe said and Margaret gasped staring hard at her then walked out. "Good riddance" said Sandy. "Now, you shut up" said Chloe and Sandy rolled her eyes again. "You need a break, Chloe" said Sandy as her phone rang. "Hey sis" Mandy's sharp voice said through the phone. "Hey" Sandy replied. "What's up? You still at Chloe's?" She asked. "Yeah, why??" Sandy asked. "Oh, nothing there's this cute new guy in school today, he was staring at me the whole time and he's still staring at me right now, I feel so excited" Mandy said. "Oh, wow that's weird news though, I'm glad. Bye" Sandy said and hung up. "Why would you hang up in such a manner? She surely has a lot of things to say" Chloe said. "Well, who cares?" Sandy replied. "Go have a shower, we've got to go out" Sandy said and Chloe did as she was leaving told.
