Chapter 1 LILA'S PAST

Lila Rose felt a flutter in her stomach as she walked down the aisle, holding her father's arm.

She looked around the gathering and saw the smiling faces of her friends and family, who had gathered to witness her special day. She felt a warm breeze caress her face, carrying the scent of roses and jasmine. She heard a soft melody playing in the background, setting the mood for romance.

She lifted her eyes and saw him - Ethan Luxe, her fiancé, her soulmate, her future. He stood at the altar, wearing a black tuxedo that matched his hair and eyes. He looked handsome and confident, but also nervous and excited. He smiled at her, and she felt a surge of love and happiness.

They had met six years ago, at Parsons School of Design, where they both studied fashion design.

They shared a passion for creating beautiful clothes, and they soon discovered that they shared much more.

They became inseparable - studying together, working on projects till late at night, and sharing dreams of their future in the fashion world. Love blossomed amidst patterns and palettes, stitches and seams.

Their love story was the talk of the campus - Lila Rose and Ethan Luxe, the fashion duo destined for greatness. After graduation, Ethan proposed to Lila. Overwhelmed with joy and love, Lila said yes. They planned a beautiful wedding, dreaming of a future filled with love and success.

Lila reached the altar, where Ethan took her hand and kissed it gently. He whispered in her ear, "You look stunning, my love. I can't wait to make you my wife."

Lila blushed and whispered back, "You look amazing, my love. I can't wait to be your wife."

They turned to face the priest, who began the ceremony. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony..."

Lila tuned out the priest's words, as she gazed into Ethan's eyes. She felt like she was in a dream, a fairy tale. She couldn't believe that she was about to marry the man of her dreams, the man who made her happy.

She thought about their vows, which they had written themselves. She thought about how she would promise to love him, support him, respect him, cherish him. She thought about how he would promise to love her, protect her, honour her, and adore her.

She thought about their rings, which they had designed themselves. They were simple bands of white gold, engraved with their names and a heart symbol. They were symbols of their eternal bond, their commitment to each other.

She thought about their kiss, which would seal their union. She imagined how it would feel to taste his lips, to feel his breath on her skin, to hear his heartbeat in sync with hers.

She thought about their future together - how they would launch their own clothing line, how they would travel the world together, how they would start a family together.

She thought about how happy they would be together - how they would laugh together, cry together, grow together.

She thought about how lucky she was to have found him - how he understood her, inspired her, completed her.

She thought about how much she loved him - more than anything in the world.

She smiled and squeezed his hand.

Ethan smiled and squeezed back.

They were ready.

The priest finished his speech and asked them the question.

"Do you want this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Lila opened her mouth to say "I do".

But before she could utter a word, Ethan let go of her hand and ran away.

He ran away from the altar, from the church, from her.

He left without any explanation, leaving behind a devastated and heartbroken Lila.

*********

Six years had passed since that fateful day. The bustling city of New York had changed, but the memory of Ethan's betrayal still haunted Lila.

Lila Rose stared out of the window of her small apartment in Brooklyn, feeling a pang of loneliness. She watched the street kids below, wearing different fashion brands that reflected their personalities and moods.

She saw a girl in a bright pink hoodie and ripped jeans, sporting a pair of Adidas sneakers. She saw a boy in a black leather jacket and skinny jeans, rocking a pair of Converse All-Stars. She saw a group of friends in colourful outfits, mixing and matching different styles and accessories

She envied them for their carefree attitude and their sense of fun. They seemed to enjoy life, unlike her. They had each other, unlike her. They had nothing to worry about, unlike her.

She watched as they walked towards Vane Couture - the high-end fashion boutique owned by her rival Victor Vane. It was located across the street from her apartment, taunting her every day with its flashy display and its exclusive clientele.

It had the latest and most expensive clothes, shoes, and accessories from the top designers in the world. It also had a large poster of Victor Vane himself, smiling smugly and holding a trophy for the best designer of the year.

Lila hated that poster. She hated that boutique. She hated that man.

She wondered why the street kids were going there. Did they have enough money to buy anything? Did they have an invitation to some special event? Did they have a secret connection to Victor Vane?

She felt curious and annoyed at the same time. She wanted to know what they were doing there, but she also wanted them to stay away from that place. She wanted them to come back to her side of the street, where she could see them and feel less lonely.

She waited for them to come out of the boutique, hoping they would not be carrying any bags with them. She hoped they would not be wearing any new clothes or accessories from Vane Couture. She hoped they would not be smiling or laughing or looking happy.

She hoped they would be disappointed and disillusioned by what they saw inside. But she was wrong.

After what seemed like an eternity, the street kids came out of the boutique, carrying two bags each with them. They were wearing new clothes and accessories from Vane Couture and were smiling and laughing, looking happy with the designers they had just bought.

Lila felt a surge of anger and sadness wash over her. She wished she had friends like them. Friends who would share her passion for fashion design, who would support her in her struggles, who would make her laugh and have fun.

But she didn't have any friends. She had isolated herself from everyone and tried to keep her distance from anyone trying to come close after Ethan's betrayal. She had lost trust in people, especially men.

Lila turned away from the window and looked at her sketchbook, where she had drawn dozens of designs for Sparkle Rose - her family's clothing brand that she had inherited from her grandmother.

Her grandmother had been a famous couturier in the 1950s and had built Sparkle Rose from scratch. But over the years, the brand had lost its popularity and prestige.

Lila was determined to save Sparkle Rose and honour her grandmother's legacy, so she worked tirelessly to create new designs that were modern and innovative. She wanted Sparkle Rose to sparkle again in the fashion world.

But it was not easy. Every day was a battle for Lila - battling tight budgets, managing a small staff, and keeping up with the competitive market trends. She also had to deal with Victor Vane - a ruthless rival designer who seemed to enjoy making things difficult for her.

Victor Vane was the owner of Vane Couture - a high-end fashion brand that catered to the rich and famous. He was arrogant, cunning, and manipulative. He had a knack for stealing Lila's ideas and passing them off as his own. He also had a habit of sabotaging Lila's work and spreading rumours about her.

Lila hated Victor Vane with every fibre of her being. She considered him her archenemy in the fashion world. She vowed to never let him win over her.

But sometimes, she wondered if she could ever beat him. He had more resources, more connections, and more influence than her. He had everything she didn't have.

She remembered what started the beef between Victor Vane and Lila's fashion line which was all because Victor told her about his feelings for her and she turned him down. So this got him so pissed off that he started doing everything to see her crumble.

This was tearing Lila apart, everything was tearing her apart including love.

Lila sighed as she thought about love. She hadn't dated anyone since Ethan left her at the altar six years ago. She still remembered that day vividly - how she stood there in her wedding dress, waiting for him to show up, how she felt when she realized he was gone, how she cried when she read his note.

"Dear Lila,

I'm sorry, but I can't marry you. I love you, but I love someone else more. Please forgive me.

Ethan"

That was all he wrote. No explanation, no apology, no goodbye.

Lila felt like her world had collapsed that day. She felt betrayed, humiliated, heartbroken. She couldn't understand why he did it. Why did he leave her for someone else? Who was that someone else? Was it someone she knew? Someone from their school? Someone from his work?

She never found out. He never contacted her again. He disappeared from her life without a trace.

She tried to move on, but she couldn't. He had ruined her life and her chance at happiness.

She buried herself in her work, trying to drown her sorrows in the world of fashion design.

But it wasn't yielding the result she expected. And this was too much for her. She felt empty inside. She still missed Ethan.

While sitting in her apartment one quiet evening, sketching designs and nursing a cup of hot chocolate, she couldn't help but wonder - would she ever be able to overcome her past? Could she save Sparkle Rose? And more importantly, could she ever find happiness again?

Little did she know that life had its own plan.

Chapter 2 LILA'S DREAM FOR SPARKLE ROSE

The next day the morning sun streamed through the windows of Lila's luxurious BMW as she drove to the Sparkle Rose studio. The city was just waking up, the streets of New York were slowly filling with the hustle and bustle of another day. Lila, however, had been awake for hours, her mind filled with designs and ideas for Sparkle Rose.

As she walked into her studio, she was greeted by the familiar chaos of fabric swatches and sketches. She loved this place, it was where her creativity came alive. But lately, it had also become a battlefield where she fought to keep Sparkle Rose afloat.

She spent the morning engrossed in her designs. Each stroke of her pencil on the sketchpad was filled with determination. She experimented with different fabrics, textures, and colours, trying to create designs that were modern yet had a touch of Sparkle Rose's legacy.

Her assistant, Jane, walked in with a stack of papers - bills, supplier contracts, and whatnot. Lila sighed as she looked at them. The business side of fashion was something she had not been prepared for.

"Another shipment got delayed," Jane reported a worried look on her face. "And the sewing machine is acting up again."

Lila took a deep breath, pushing down the frustration that bubbled up. "We'll figure it out, Jane," she said, forcing a smile on her face.

Just as they were discussing how to handle these issues, Lila's phone rang. It was Victor Vane - a fellow designer who seemed to have made it his mission to make things difficult for Lila.

"I heard about your little troubles," Victor sneered over the phone. "It's not too late to sell Sparkle Rose to me."

Lila's grip tightened on the phone. "Sparkle Rose is not for sale," she replied firmly before hanging up.

After hanging up on Victor, Lila felt a wave of frustration wash over her. She bowed her head, her mind filled with doubts and worries. But after a few minutes, she lifted her head, determination replacing the discouragement on her face. She laid her hand on some of her sketches, trying to understand why they weren't selling.

"Why don't people love these designs?" she muttered to herself, her fingers tracing the lines of a sketch. In a fit of frustration, she slammed her hand on the sketch, causing it to crumple under the force.

Deciding she needed a break, Lila headed out to a nearby coffee shop. The familiar smell of coffee and the soft hum of conversation helped soothe her frazzled nerves. As she sipped her coffee, she noticed a familiar face at the corner of the shop.

It was Maya Lee, her old friend from college. Maya was a journalist now, always chasing after the next big story. Her long, straight black hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she was dressed in colourful casual clothes that reflected her vibrant personality.

Lila approached Maya with a smile spreading across her face. "Maya? Is that you?" she asked.

Maya looked up from her laptop, surprise evident on her face. "Lila? Oh my god, it's been ages!" she exclaimed.

They both laughed as they hugged each other. It felt like a lifetime ago when they used to pull all-nighters for their college projects.

"Do you remember that time we tried to make a dress out of newspaper for our final project?" Lila asked, reminiscing about their college days.

Maya laughed. "How could I forget? We got an A for creativity but an F for practicality."

Their laughter filled the coffee shop, drowning out the noise around them. For the first time in a long while, Lila felt genuinely happy.

For a moment Lila was really happy, laughing at her friend who had changed so fast from her tiny looks back in college to a bursty robust body shape. Suddenly Lila and Maya's laughter subsided, Maya looked at Lila with concern in her eyes. "You look tired, Lila," she said softly.

Lila sighed and nodded. "Yeah Girl.. It's been tough with Sparkle Rose, my fashion studio," she admitted.

"What fashion studio?" Maya asked

"I run a fashion studio a few walks away from here "Sparkle Rose".

"Oh yeah?" Maya asked

Yeah, that's my studio" Llia said in a weak tone

"Wow, girl!! You are a big thing now," Maya said, shaking her head and staring at Lila's face hoping to find a smile on her face but unfortunately, Lila wasn't willing to smile.

"What's wrong girl?" Maya asked with concern on her face as she looked at the window wanting to find Sparkle Rose Lila's fashion studio because Lila had said it was a few walks away.

"I am afraid I might go bankrupt due to the huge amount of tax I'm paying and still not making any sales" Lila lamented and was about bowing her head to the coffee shop table to shed some tears.

Maya reached across the table and squeezed Lila's hand reassuringly. "You're one of the most talented designers I know," she said earnestly. Look at you you've made it, look at your outfit this alone tells how much of a designer you are." "You'll figure it out dear."

And so they spent the next hour talking about everything - from their college days to their current lives. Maya shared stories about her adventures as a journalist while Lila sat before Maya weakly as she listened to the progress. Maya had made it so far in her career.

After talking for a while it was already three hours of these two talking and jesting about their lives, then Maya looked at her watch and saw the time was already past 4 pm so she packed her bag and held onto Lila's arms as she said..

"Lila I think it's time for us to take our leave from here now we've really spent enough time together.

"Yes girl I would love to catch up with you some other time," Lila said, holding her second hand to the hands Maya was holding and they hugged warmly.

As they were getting ready to leave, Maya turned to Lila with a serious expression on her face. "Lila," she said firmly, "Be strong girl, don't let the lack of sales you are battling with right now weigh you down."

Lila looked at Maya, tears welling up in her eyes. "Thank you, Maya," she said softly.

They hugged each other the second time tightly before parting ways. As Lila walked back to her studio, she felt a renewed sense of hope and determination. She was ready to face whatever challenges came her way.

Back at the studio, Lila looked at the crumpled sketch that had frustrated her earlier in the day. With a determined glint in her eyes, she smoothed out the paper and picked up her pencil, laid it on the paper and sighed deeply and she continued retracing the rumpled sketch.

Chapter 3 EMBRACING CHALLENGES

Lila realized she had a brand to save and no amount of obstacles would stop her from picking up her pencil and starting sketching again, she felt a renewed sense of purpose. The words of encouragement from Maya echoed in her mind as she worked on refining the designs for Sparkle Rose.

Hours turned into minutes as Lila immersed herself in her work. She experimented with different styles and patterns, trying to bring something fresh yet timeless to Sparkle Rose's collection.

Just as she was working on a particularly intricate design, there was a knock on the studio door. It was one of her staff members with an update on the delayed fabric shipment.

"The supplier just called," he said hesitantly. "There's been another delay."

Lila took a deep breath, pushing down the wave of frustration that threatened to overwhelm her. "Alright," she said calmly. "Let's figure out what we can do."

She spent the next hour brainstorming with her team on how they could work around this issue. They discussed alternative suppliers and even considered changing some designs to accommodate the fabrics they already had.

Despite the setback, Lila remained focused and optimistic. She knew that running a business was never smooth sailing - there would be storms along the way but they had to keep going.

By late evening when everyone else had left for home, Lila was still at the studio - refining designs and planning strategies for Sparkle Rose. The studio, usually bustling with activity, was quiet except for the soft scratching of Lila's pencil on paper.

As she finally packed up to leave, she looked around the studio - her battlefield. It was here that she fought every day to keep Sparkle Rose alive. It was exhausting and challenging, but she wouldn't have it any other way.

With a final glance at her sketches, Lila turned off the lights and left the studio. Tomorrow was another day and she was ready to face it head-on.

************

As Lila stepped out of the studio, the city was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun. She took a moment to breathe in the cool evening air, letting the city's energy seep into her tired bones.

She got into her car and started the drive home. The city lights blurred past her as she navigated through the familiar streets. Her mind was still buzzing with ideas and plans for Sparkle Rose.

Immediately she got home, Lila made herself a quick dinner and settled down with her sketchbook. Even though she had left the studio, her work never really ended. She sketched while she ate, her mind and hands working in tandem to bring her ideas to life.

After dinner, she decided to unwind a little. She put on some music and poured herself a glass of wine. As she sat on her couch, sipping wine and listening to her favourite songs, she allowed herself to relax.

Just as she was starting to feel a bit more relaxed, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Maya.

"Hey! Just wanted to check-in. How are you doing?" Maya's message read.

Lila smiled as she typed back a reply. "Surviving. Thanks for today, Maya."

"No need to thank me," came Maya's quick reply. "Remember, you've got this girl."

Lila put down her phone and leaned back on the couch. Maya's words echoed in her mind - "You've got this girl." "yeah, I've got this!" Lila said to herself.

She spent the rest of the evening sketching and planning for Sparkle Rose. When she finally went to bed, it was well past midnight.

By 12 am in the morning, Lila drifted off to sleep, in her mind she knew that tomorrow would bring new challenges. But no matter what happened, she was ready to face them head-on.

***************

As Lila drifted off to sleep, dreams of designs and fabrics filled her mind. Even in sleep, Sparkle Rose was never far from her thoughts.

The next morning came with the promise of a new day. Lila woke up early as usual, ready to face whatever challenges came her way. After a quick breakfast and a strong cup of coffee, she was ready to head back to the studio.

On her drive to work, Lila couldn't help but think about everything that had happened over the past few days - Ethan's unexpected proposition, Victor's threats, and Maya's unwavering support. It all felt like a whirlwind that had swept through her life.

Once at the studio, Lila wasted no time in getting down to work. She met with her team first thing in the morning, discussing their plan of action for the day. They had a lot on their plate - dealing with delayed shipments, managing production schedules, and of course, working on their new designs.

Throughout the day, Lila found herself juggling multiple tasks at once - reviewing designs, negotiating with suppliers over calls, even fixing a faulty sewing machine when their technician called in sick.

Despite the hectic schedule and mounting pressure, Lila didn't let it get to her. She tackled each problem with determination and creativity - finding new suppliers for their fabrics or coming up with innovative designs that worked around their resource constraints.

By late afternoon when everyone else was wrapping up for the day, Lila was still at her desk - finalizing designs for their new collection. The studio had become like a second home to her - a place where she could channel all her energy and passion into creating something beautiful.

As evening fell and another day came to an end at Sparkle Rose studio, Lila couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment despite all odds. She knew they still had a long way to go but looking at how far they'd come filled her heart with hope.

With renewed energy and determination burning bright within her heart like never before, Lila knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead on this journey of reviving Sparkle Rose - she was going to fight it and overcome it. She was hell-ready this time.
