This kind of love

Tatiana Marley was seated at the table at the furthest corner of the hotel. The hotel was not a big one but it was always filled because the food there was just on another level. She would stare at her phone and throw glances at the entrance of the hotel. From afar you could tell she was waiting for someone and yes she was waiting for Dave, She would look at her watch and peep at the hotel entrance again but would be disappointed every time someone walked in and it wasn't Dave.

Thinking of Dave where was he now? and what was taking him so long? She had been seated there since 7:00 pm and now it was around 10:00 pm and yet Dave was not showing up. But why would he be late it was her birthday today and this was her favorite restaurant in the whole of LA would Dave turn her down? she asked herself. Just thinking About that was enough to give her a headache and she had to push the thought away as fast as possible.

"No the Dave I know would never do this to me. He loves me so much and I love him too. He's probably caught in traffic or maybe he has a huge surprise for me and since this place is open 24/7 waiting longer wouldn't kill me" she thought to herself.

After some more minutes of peeking at the entrance, she was bored and tired of getting disappointed. She decided to go through Dave's pictures on her phone. The fırst picture was of Dave alone. she had snapped him unaware and it looked

so cute. she smiled at the thought of Dave seeing the

picture cause the time she had taken it she didn't show him.

"look at you so cute and innocent I'm supposed

to be mad at but I just can't "

she was talking to Dave's picture and then quickly glanced at the people around her to see if anyone was watching and when she saw that everyone was minding their businesses she quickly kissed the picture and smiled.

"I miss you be here soon ok" She then swiped for the next photo, It was her favorite one. It was their first couple of pictures with Dave. it reminded her of the day that Dave proposed to her and said I LOVE YOU. The sound of the words still lingers in her mind up to today and they still make her

blush.

From the other corner of the restaurant sat Ashely. Ash was

throwing glances at the girl seated at the other corner of the restaurant. She had seen her at the entrance when she first came in. Ashely was about to leave when she saw the girl standing at the entrance probably looking for an empty table and she decided otherwise instead of going.

She decided to survey the girl before she managed to get an empty table. Before anything else, she admitted this girl was

glamorous. She was serving and had a well-defined body. So hot that she made Ash stop leaving and sit just to watch her.

she was wearing a shein off-shoulder tee and tartan skirt which exposed her thighs perfectly. After closely analyzing her Ash was able to notice that one of her parents was probably black but her skin still glowed. If you weren't keen on her you wouldn't know that she's black. Her skin was blazing and she had such a perfect body.

Scanning her downwards she was wearing the unisex lightweight sneakers. The sneakers were Balenciaga-like but not

exactly this was more improved she would say, The sock part of the shoe covered up to above her ankle and on the right leg above it was a red butterfly tattoo and a flower pattern. On the other leg was an anklet around the sock part of the shoe. Seeing this Ash chuckled.

This girl was crazy if she really wanted to wear an anklet she could have worn another type of shoe but it still looked cute on her. She had now spotted an empty table and was now walking towards it. Damn her walking style. Ash

thought. She followed with her eyes until she sat. Ash

knew if she was standing then she would have followed with

her legs too, from then she has been throwing glances

at her from afar just to see what she was doing. That's when she realized that the girl was waiting for someone because she kept on glancing at the entrance.

Almost four hours had passed and it seemed that the person the girl was waiting for would not be showing up. While stealing another glance at her she saw her check all the people around and seeing this she first looked down and then immediately looked at her knowing she was up to something. The girl kissed her phone.

Ash was surprised. wait did she just do that in such a public place? she smiled and then seemed to talk to her phone, Ash

couldn't hold it anymore. she now wanted to talk to the

the girl she carried her glass of wine she had, it had been keeping her busy for the past hours when she decided to stay and watch the girl. She walked towards her table. The girl was busy on her phone smiling she didn't even notice Ash was there probably talking to her boyfriend....girls and men' thought Ash.

"Hey..." Ash managed to say when she saw the girl wasn't noticing her presence.

The girl was startled and almost dropped her phone, She

slowly looked up and met Ashley's stare.

"H.h...Hi too" she said looking at Ashely

"You look so tensed did I scare you that much?" Ash asked

certainly.

"Nononono.I'm ok yeah you...you

didn't" Tatiana answered trying so hard to smile

"oh that's good for a minute I thought you had seen a

ghost....mind if I join you"

Tatiana was almost letting go of her phone now her mouth wide open, She stared at the stranger in front of her who was now waiting for an answer. she pulled herself together and finally talked

"'okay yeah .... Sure you..you can join me, she said trying to act as comfortable as possible.

Ash looked at her and winked before seating down she noticed the girl blush and smile. She could tell the girl felt uneasy so she decided to cool the air around her

" Hey relax ok..I!'m not a dog I don't bite...... name is Ashley but call me Ash or whichever you prefer, I like them both" she whispered not to create attention, she stretched her hand to greet her.

At first, the girl was reluctant to give her hand but did it though it took so much courage to do so.

"I'm Tatiana......Tatiana Marley" she said nervously.

Ashley was not letting her hand go yet

"Tatiana.... lovely..nice to meet you Tatiana" she, said smiling again.

" Nice to meet you too Ash I'll call

you Ash.." she said trying her best to sound normal

then she withdrew her hand from Ashley's,

"You look cute and even more cute when you blush and honestly you are beautiful and I like your dreadlocks they look so damn cute on you," Ashley said taking a sip of her wine.

" That's a lot but thanks a lot too, for your compliments,"

Tatiana said avoiding looking at Ashley's eyes.

''Girl can you just get used to me already because we are already friends so stop shying around" Ashley said these words staring at the girl's face. Tatiana didn't say anything. She just smiled quickly and looked away.

"Why haven't you ordered anything yet?" Ashley asked her after noticing the table was empty only with the glass of wine she had come with.

" oh about that...I'm waiting for someone and I don't want to order anything before he arrives" she said with a smile brightening on her face.

"Just order something a drink maybe, I won't feel nice drinking alone, my treat" Ashley said.

".....can I get a drink? Lemon flavor" she said to a waiter she had called while passing by.

"Sure miss," the waiter said and went to bring it.

"Why lemon flavor? It's so bitter" Ash asked with her eyes wide open. How could such a beautiful girl order or like a bitter flavor?

"It's my favorite flavor and I like it a lot it's bitter Sweet and being a lemon flavor doesn't mean that it has to be as bitter as you think, to me it's sweet you'll have to try it someday if we become good friends" she finished with a wink and a smile

"That's a crazy but good idea I hope I'll like it " she kept quiet for some time looked away then looked at Tatiana

" you have a beautiful smile and it's good that you are not

shying anymore"

Tatiana didn't say anything but just giggled. She was now familiarizing with Ashley more and more. They were currently getting along well as friends who have always been friends.

The waitress came with Tatiana's drink and placed it at the table

and left after saying enjoy your drink. Tatiana took the drink but just before she could sip it, Ashley

stopped her.

" wait..... stop" confused Tatiana stared at Ashley without blinking and then started exploring her drink

"It would be a waste if we don't toast to our newly built friendship right?" Ashley said raising her glass of wine. it took Tatiana some time to get whatever was happening and then she

raised her glass after a chuckle.

" I thought that my drink was poisoned or maybe you had seen something in it." She said and they both let out laughter though not a loud one.

" so who is the black one your mom or your dad?" Ashley asked after sipping her wine. When she saw that Tatiana was not responding she regretted asking the question.

" I'm sorry ...it's ok if you don't want to tell me," she said apologetically.

Tatiana's expression was now a smiling one. She couldn't help but laugh when she looked at Ashley.

"Why are you laughing what's funny" asked

Ashely. Tatiana laughed for some more seconds and

decided to answer her.

" you should have seen your expression while apologizing, or rather listen to your voice,...Have you already forgotten my name? And you want us to be friends ridiculous, Obviously

from Marley, you could tell that my dad is a Jamaican so probably he's not white and also not black mom is Americana and my skin is neither of theirs I'm their mixture" she said smiling. Yes, she was honest and true about that one. Only if you are close enough to her you'd tell that she isn't pure white.

On the other hand, Ash was laughing at herself. Damn, why hadn't she thought of that earlier before asking her such a stupid question?.

" And you?" Tatiana asked, now with a very serious gaze

" Oh, my parents are both.." Tatiana cut her off before she

could finish talking

" Not that you don't have to tell me about that" Ashley was now confused

"so what about me? ....what do you wanna know?" She asked

"Why do you look like someone I know? a popular artist, a very famous singer"

Ashley almost spilled all the wine from her mouth. She placed the wine glass on the table and wiped the little wine which

had spilled on the table.

"Will you stop laughing already....it's giving me goosebumps "

Ashley was trying her best to stay calm she had embarrassed herself in front of Tatiana who was now laughing her lungs out. it was a good thing that not many people were at the restaurant now because it was already 11:00 pm. When Tatiana saw that Ashley was embarrassed about it she stopped laughing.

"Hey, look don't get offended okay.....I'm just laughing at your reaction I just said you look like a famous singer I didn't say you

were the one come on", Tatiana defended herself trying hard not to laugh.

"is your boyfriend still showing up today or should we just leave," Ashely asked her after checking her phone to see the time. She then looked up at Tatiana waiting for an answer.

Tatiana thought that Ashley had already lost it and was somehow nuts. She was surprised at how Ashly was acting as if they have always been friends even though they'd just met today and not just today but some minutes ago.

Talking about us going home I can't just leave it's my birthday today and Dave will still show up.

" Hey if you want to leave you free to go I'll just wait for him to come" she answered Ashley.

"Seems like you love him so much that you can sacrifice and stay at a restaurant for almost twelve hours waiting for him to show up," Ashley said jokingly but Tatiana wasn't joking

"yeah I love him so much and he'll come you can wait and meet him he's a good person and you will love him just so much I'm sure you'll like him too, You'll want to hang out with him because I guess you're a Tboy "

she replied to Ashley's question.

" wow that's just so wow and yeah I'll wait for him, I wanna meet the lucky guy I guess" when she finished saying the word Tatiana was already up from her seat and ran to her and hugged her while she was seated.

" thanks a lot, I won't have to be bored all alone while waiting for him, see I'm just so happy that you'll be able to meet him" she rushed to the other side of the table where she was seated and took her phone entered her password and gave it to Ashley.

"why are you giving me your phone? " Asked Ashley staring at Tatiana who seemed all happy now.

" just check the gallery you'll see his photos and our couple

pictures too if you'll excuse me I need to use the bathroom please" she said while leaving and heading for the washrooms.

Ashley's POV

Guess as much as I wanted to see her boyfriend I still didn't want to meet him in person. I don't know why but I guess I'd just hate him for no reason no I guess there's. Maybe because he was able to get her before me and now all she could do was just talk about him. She even left her phone just for me to see their pictures. Staring at the still photos I just want to delete every picture that has him. If only I could do that but why waste my time staring at his photos I'd rather look at Tatiana's. They

do her justice because she looks just exactly like her.

I was busy stalking Tatiana's pictures when a message notification popped up on the phone. I didn't want to read it but I got curious when I saw it was from Babe! Yes babe that was the name of the sender, and I knew it was her boyfriend. I didn't mean to open it but I did just to quench my curiosity and this is how it read.

"Hey Tatiana I didn't want to let you down like this especially today on your birthday but I got no other choice. I've since long

wanted to end this relationship with you but I couldn't just find the right time. You have every reason to hate me now but I can't just continue with this thing honestly I just don't feel the vibe between us anymore and goodbye"

At first, I thought it was a prank but why would he prank her like that on her birthday if he had to do it he would have done it earlier but now it was almost midnight and he had not shown up. I knew that this was no lie and he was serious. I don't know why but I felt hurt and I couldn't just let Tatiana read the text I'm sure it'll break her down so instead, I came up with an idea, but why was this girl taking so long?

"Hey I'm back" Tatiana was now heading to her seat. She

didn't even take her phone from Ashley,

" What took you so long girl," Ashley asked her

"Naah I went outside too to get some fresh air and check if Dave is anywhere around," she said with a bored voice. You could tell that she was disappointed and it was only a matter of time before she starts crying. Yeah she had gone out expecting to see him

" Can I ask you something...I mean do you trust Dave that much do you understand him maybe?"

Tatiana smiled " yeah I trust him and I also understand him a lot, why though?" she asked.

" Because he called while you were gone " From Tatiana's

facial expression someone could tell that she was extremely happy. Her sullen face had now disappeared.

" Did you pick it up what did he say, will he come? " she asked jovially with a voice full of hopes.

I don't want to spill the beans because I know she will be hurt Ashley thought looking at Tatiana's anxious face.

"He just said he loves you more than anything else but he can't just make it up to you today but he'll treat you right....he said something came up but you shouldn't be worried he'll be fine just take care of yourself and have fun " Ashley expected

Tatiana started crying but she didn't. she even

seemed concerned about Dave now.

"Do you think he'll be fine maybe it's his mother, he keeps saying that his mother is sick...I hope they'll be fıne I should be

there for him don't you think?".

Now, what am I going to tell her Ashley scratched her head thinking.

"No he said it's nothing serious and he'll be fine.... he just wants you to have fun on your birthday I even promised him I'll treat you" oh good I hope she buys this because I don't want to keep lying. What will I tell her when she finds out the truth or how am I gonna tell her that those were just made-up stories?

" Really? you see I told you he's just amazing he cares about me"

Oh damn, will she stop talking about that son of a bitch it's annoying me already? Dave this Dave that will she stop?..... Ashley was now thinking of a way to make her stop talking about him.

" Why are you so calm about it and he didn't even show up at your birthday?" She asked to hope to anger the girl so that she stops talking about him.

"I've already celebrated my birthday yeah with my friends the

whole day this was just a birthday dinner party with

Dave, so it's nothing" she said in a normal calm voice. A total opposite of what Ashley had expected.

" oh ok if you say so....then Happy birthday

from me......I guess I'm the only one who has wished you a happy birthday yet......then we should go to a club don't you think it's one hour down and your birthday is over don't you want to have some fun maybe?" She asked in a seductive voice.

"thanks and yeah I wanna go" Tatiana answered happily.

They then left the restaurant it was already so dark outside but the lights were on everywhere. Ashley took her to her car which was packed at the restaurant garage and off they drove.

They talked about their likes and dislikes just to avoid boredom in the car.

"I didn't think you were this rich....this car seems so expensive," Tatiana said when they arrived but Ashley just smiled.

"wait I thought we were going to a club but this is a house" she looked at Ashley confused who in turn took her hand and headed for the door. The mansion was so big and beautiful but

there were no people inside. They passed through the sitting

room to the back door. Ashley opened it and then the

lights were on.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" it took her some minutes to get what was going on she then turned and hugged Ashley.

" It was a surprise baby"
