Thirty Days Over

Author: : bernabeuXT
Genre: Others
For thirty days, Nohan has been confronted with a series of strange and terrifying events at his school. Except for the bullying that happened to his, of course. One by one, horrible things happened before his eyes. Until one night with heavy rain pouring down, a black-robed figure came on the porch of Nohan's house. And without Nohan knowing his life would change, either much better or darker.

Chapter 1 Prologue

"You know what? We haven't even checked!"

"I know you've been injected by Mr. Pram, so stop acting like you're fine!" retorted a woman holding a baby boy, who was peacefully sleeping.

"Then what do you want?" asked the man with a frustrated look on his face.

"We're getting a divorce!"

The man was getting more and more frustrated as he listened to the woman in front of him.

"That easy?"

"What do you think? I've thought it through too, and it's for the best! I can't sacrifice Nohan to be close to you!"

The man tried to get closer to the woman just now.

"Stop! You are not being injected as usual! You're being injected with HIV blood, so please leave here, and don't ever try to get close to Nohan!"

That night the man finally relented, deciding to leave the house. Leaving his wife and child behind.

Years passed, the baby boy had grown into a teenage boy.

Bughh...

A teenage boy who was walking to the cafeteria was suddenly punched by someone.

"Hi Loser!"

Bughh...

This time he got hit harder, causing him to fall down.

Bughh...

"That's how strong you are, Nohan? Aren't you a policeman's son?" railed the figure standing right in front of the teenage boy's face, who was knocked down just now.

It was Nohan, the boy who was bullied every day at school. And unfortunately, there was no one to help him, or to tell the teacher that a student was being bullied.

Unfortunately, the other students only like to watch, they all just stare at Nohan sadly. Without ever lending a hand, or even asking if he was alright or not.

"Nohan is just a loser, of course one punch and he's down!" said another student, who Nohan knew was in the same gang as the first bully.

They only dared to gang up on Nohan? Of course not. Sometimes Nohan was even hit by one of them, even though he didn't bother him.

It was as if breathing was wrong for them, even during the second semester of tenth grade. They beat Nohan mercilessly, and then flushed him with sewage water. Just because Nohan got into the fifth general rank.

It was only fifth, and he was already beaten up, I don't know what would have happened if Nohan had been ranked first overall. Maybe he would only be a name.

And unexpectedly, the next figure poured him a bottle of tea.

Byurr...

"This is for you for being a weak human! You should have fought back, Loser! You're weak! So weak!"

From his voice Nohan could recognize that he was the first-ranked general. Nohan was not surprised, as the first-ranked general was truly a genius. Unfortunately, his nature was like a horrible demon.

Nohan hissed, he hadn't gotten up yet - he was still lying down with his face almost kissing the cafeteria floor which was now wet from the tea.

Nohan's hair was wet, her face also now felt sticky.

Oh my God. The cafeteria was in full swing but no one wanted to help him. Nohan felt that all of them were not human, they were demons in human clothing. They were horrible monsters.

Nohan was about to look up, but the bully gang leader unexpectedly stepped on his hand, making him look down again in pain.

"How does it feel, loser? Does it hurt? Doesn't it hurt?" the gang leader scolded Nohan dismissively.

The gang leader did not stop there, he even deliberately stomped on Nohan's hand for a long time, while twirling his foot as if he was stepping on a mat.

Nohan hissed, holding back the pain as much as possible. He did not want the demons to feel happy because they heard his cry of pain.

Wouldn't psychopaths feel happy when their victims moaned in pain?

The next day the bullying got worse.

Nohan was sitting quietly in her seat, and suddenly the rank one general came over, about to douse her with something she didn't know.

"Jay! Guess what I'm going to douse him with?"

The gang leader was named Jay.

Nohan could have sworn that people would never believe that Jay was a bully. His appearance was neat, he was smart, and he was even the head of the school's anti-bullying organization.

Nohan wanted to scream at the teachers for choosing Jay as the head of the organization.

Byurr...

"Stale milk again, Ray?" asked Jay.

The first-ranked general smiled with a grin, his name was Ray. His appearance was no less neat than Jay's, especially since he was a student who made the school proud. Of course it would be considered insane if Nohan yelled at Ray as a bully.

But the truth will remain, even if the world doesn't believe it.

"With some dishwater!" grinned Ray, and next threw the bottle of stale milk at Nohan's now wet face.

Ray, and Jay laughed evilly together.

After doing that Nohan thought they were done. In fact, two more people came, one named Jio aka the eternal student who had not been promoted three times. His appearance was disheveled like a hooligan, although in reality he was.

And the other one was Ren, he was flat-faced and rarely smiled. His appearance was neat, except that his hair was a little messy.

Suddenly Ren approached and punched Nohan in the face, making her nose bleed fresh blood instantly.

Bughh...

And Jio, as if not wanting him hand to be idle, came forward and punched Nohan which hit him right cheek, making the corner of him lip bleed.

"Your face is cooler now, loser!" said Jio, followed by applause from his three friends.

"Well, at least your face is still recognizable, it hasn't turned completely blue!" Ray said with his evil laughter booming.

The class was currently empty, the teacher was only giving assignments because she was away on business.

"Never mind, we have to go to the mading room now, let's continue the game later!" said Jay lightly, as if they were actually playing a fun game.

Yes bullying others is certainly considered a game, by them demons.

The four of them left, leaving Nohan grimacing with facial pain.

The classmates just looked at him pityingly, but really Nohan didn't need those looks. He just needed their help, their care to stop Jay and his gang from bullying him.

Unfortunately that was not possible, they were just as bad as those demons. They were the same.

Humans who don't want to help others in times of trouble, not much worse than monsters and demons.

Nohan immediately stood up from his seat, he approached the bench at the front right corner.

"Class president!" Nohan called out, looking at the teenage boy with square glasses, who was suddenly busy writing something in his book. Whereas before he was just quietly staring at Nohan, who was being bullied.

"Class president!" Nohan called again. And finally the class president, whose name was Rokan, looked up.

In that instant Nohan snorted, "Do you still think you deserve to be called class president? Do you feel that way, Rokan? You even keep quiet when someone bullies your class members, you even pretend as if your class is fine, what kind of class leader are you, Rokan?" Nohan railed feeling irritated and hated at the same time.

"What can I do, Nohan?"

"And what can I do, Rokan? What? I can't even fight them, there are too many of them. And you, and all of you are just watching! Do you think I'm not human? Do you think I deserve to die in vain?" Nohan railed, making the whole class fall silent.

Everyone bowed their heads, except for one student who Nohan knew was named Sola.

"They're right that you are weak! You scolded the class president just because he didn't help you when you were bullied, what kind of man are you?" Sola railed, making the whole class now cheer for Nohan.

"That's right! He is anti-social! So let it go."

"You never considered us friends anyway, did you?"

"Since when are we friends with a kid whose father has HIV?"

Yes, it's always been that way. They never want to take the blame.

Brakkk...

Nohan was startled, and stopped from daydreaming. It turned out that he was daydreaming after Jay and his gang left.

Yeah Nohan thought he didn't need to ask Rokan or anyone else to help him, they wouldn't want to anyway.

"You are asked to go to the back of the library!"

Chapter 2 Why

Nohan looked up, staring at the figure of Rokan who was staring at him flatly behind his square glasses.

Nohan cleared his throat softly, and immediately got up from his chair.

Nohan decided to go to the toilet first, he would clean himself up. Or before Jio came dragging him, which Nohan guessed was towards the back of the library.

Now Nohan was forcibly seated on a wooden chair, his hands tied behind his back. Ray and Ren tied him up, while Jay and Jio looked smugly at him.

"Are you going to the toilet, Ansos?" asked Jio sarcastically, "I decided to call him Ansos!" he continued as if seeing the questioning gazes of his friends.

"Answer, Ansos!" said Ray, and next he hit Nohan on the head with his hand.

Plakkk...

"Feel that!" he continued laughing wickedly.

Ren now stepped in front of Nohan, and what followed was something Nohan never expected. He was splashed with orange colored soda, Nohan was sure that this stain would be hard to remove from his uniform.

Byurrr...

I swear, I hate you guys. Nohan thought to himself as he bowed his head, he still pity his eyes to be splashed with soda.

Ctakk...

The used soda bottle was thrown by Ren, and hit Nohan's forehead.

Ren didn't laugh, his face was straight. Instead, Jay, Jio, and of course Ray were laughing as if they were proud.

You guys are really horrible monsters, you psychopaths. Nohan inwardly hissed, feeling his sticky body and face.

"Ren! Why didn't you bring two bottles?" Ray asked as if he thought what Ren was doing was normal.

Ren grinned, truly horrible. He reached into his back pants pocket. And who would have guessed that there was another bottle of soda with the same color; orange.

And he threw that bottle of soda at Ray, who was now smirking.

Ray approached Nohan and shook the soda bottle. And then he thrust it at Nohan.

Nohan was silent, he didn't want to take the soda bottle. Everyone knows that if you shake a carbonated drink quickly, it will squirt out all the contents when you open it. Nohan was certainly not that stupid.

"You don't want to, Ansos?" asked Ray grinning.

Jay grinned at Nohan.

Jio grinned and approached, then the flat Ren just stayed silent.

"Take it!" forced Jio to pull Nohan's sticky hair, "Eww ... your hair is so disgusting!" he continued releasing him grip on Nohan's hair.

Jay laughed, and next he pulled the bottle that was in Ray's hand. He threw it on Nohan's lap.

"Open it! Open it or ... Ray! Do you have anything to try on this lab rat?"

Ray grinned, reaching into his pants pocket.

"I have this!" Ray said smiling happily.

"I want to try it, Ray!" said Ren, approaching Ray.

Jay, and Jio looked at Ray happily.

"Chewing gum? Amazing, Ray!" squealed Jio happily.

Jay now looked at Nohan with an inexplicable look.

"But I guess tomorrow! I have something better for the Ansos this time," said Ray, preventing Ren, who was about to take the gum in his hand.

His three friends wondered, including Nohan who had been looking down.

Ray laughed evilly like a psychopath, "Bitter melon juice with extra chili!" said Ray taking out a bottle from the back pocket of his pants.

"Awesome, Ray!" said Jay clapping his hands with a proud face.

An example of a monster being proud of his fellow man.

Ren also clapped with a grin on his face, while Jio clapped with a happy face.

"You really are amazing, Ray!" Jio squealed happily.

Nohan was even more speechless, he don't know how Ray's extra chili bitter melon juice tasted, but Nohan felt like Ray was really a psychopath. His smart brain was way out of whack, and horrible for a normal human's smart brain.

"I had my driver try it, and he said it was amazing!" Ray said smiling happily, as if telling people to taste his orange juice.

Nohan really couldn't believe it, he was now convinced that what the other students said about Grandpa Ray being a psychopath was true. Yes, look at how this human behaves.

"Give it to me, Ray!" said Ren who pointed his hand at Ray.

Jay, and Jio just waited, grinning. They waited for Nohan to drink the juice, or rather the poison that the rank one general made.

Ray handed it to Ren, who gladly accepted it. He opened the horrible drink, and without waiting for long.

Ren pressed Nohan's cheek, trying to make his mouth open.

"You have to drink it, Ansos!" said Jay, glaring at Nohan.

Am I out of my mind? Am I that insane to drink this poison? Nohan's mind hissed in annoyance. He wanted to fight back, but he was outnumbered so it was useless.

Next Jio, and Ray approached. Forcing Nohan to open his mouth, and damn it worked. Nohan opened his mouth against his will, and instantly a strange liquid that tasted bitter and spicy flowed down his throat.

Poor Nohan.

Nohan really wanted to vomit, the bitter and spicy taste attacking his tongue instantly. This was really poison.

"You have to finish it, Ansos!" Jio shouted in annoyance, and next him finger deliberately pinched Nohan's nose.

Nohan felt the oxygen begin to deplete in his lungs.

Just as his mouth opened, that's when Ren vengefully forced Nohan to drink the horrible juice again, making his face red from the spicy taste that began to spread violently.

Ctakk...

One small bottle was already gone, and the bottle was again thrown by Ren at Nohan, which again hit his forehead.

Nohan felt her stomach twist instantly, her face burning, and her tongue burning.

"I think you feel spicy, drink this!"

Damn Ray really has a terrible brain.

Now Jay was back in Nohan's face, and Ray stepped forward to open the bottle of soda that was still on Nohan's lap.

"Drink this!"

The day ended with Nohan fainting in the back seat of the library.

Why me, Mom? Why? Nohan thought before he lost consciousness completely. He was left behind by Jay and his gang after he fainted.

"NOHAN!"

"What happened to this kid, God!"

"Are you going to kill yourself, kid?"

Chapter 3 Hospital

Nohan woke up in the hospital, already in a much better condition than before.

His left hand was still infused, and his face was of course still bruised blue.

Nohan stared at the ceiling of the hospital, silent for a long time.

Until a voice made him turn his head, and smile to see who had come.

"What's wrong, Nohan? You causing trouble again?"

The smile on Nohan's face vanished instantly.

The mother who thought she would support him asked such a question, suddenly Nohan felt he should not have been born into the world.

Somehow Nohan felt he was alone in the world, even whenever Nohan said that he was bullied by his friends. His mother did not believe him, as if everything Nohan said was just his imagination.

"Mom doesn't believe me? I'm like this because ...."

"Bullies?" interrupted Nohan's mother, looking at Nohan tiredly.

Nohan gaped in disbelief, what more proof could there be? Maybe Nohan should jump off the building first, then his mother would believe him?

"How many times have I told you, Nohan? There is no such thing as bullying, you watch too much television, and soap operas, that's why your brain is hallucinating," said Nohan's mother trying to explain to Nohan, that such a thing does not exist.

How could it? How could Nohan survive like this? How could Nohan not hate his life? If the only person he expected to support him refused to believe in him.

You really don't want to understand me, Mom. Nohan's heart was broken.

"Nohan! I know you might be having a hard day, but stop hurting yourself ...."

"I'm not hurting myself, Mom! How many times have I told you?" Nohan railed in a tone that began to rise, Nohan was annoyed that him mother always didn't believe him.

Nohan's mother took a breath, looking at Nohan gently.

"Nohan, I know there are no kids like you said in that school ...."

Nohan looked at his mother disappointed, "No! You don't know, Mom. You don't know how they really are, you don't know! They are the bullies, and the others just watch! I'm the one being bullied, Mom," Nohan railed at his mother looking hurt.

"Enough, Nohan! Enough!" said Nohan's mother in a raised tone.

Nohan was silent, then he chuckled. He felt that his life was very hilarious, really hilarious.

"Mom! Could I have hit myself? Did I drink that much soda? Could I have poured the drink on my own head? Am I that insane in your eyes, Mom?"

Nohan said as she looked at her mother disappointed.

Nohan realized he was alone in the world, everyone was just watching him as he broke down. They are all criminals, they are all the ones who should be destroyed.

Nohan's mother was silent, turning her gaze towards the window.

Nohan sighed, "I don't know why you hate me so much, Mom. But I'm sorry, I'm sorry to you, Mom. I can't go to that school anymore, please transfer me. Please, Mom!" Nohan pleaded still looking at her mother, who was also still looking at the window.

Nohan's mother now turned her head, turning around.

"Hang in there, Nohan! Make mom believe and trust you," Nohan's mother now looked at Nohan seriously, her eyes as calm as the dusk sky.

Nohan remained silent and began to bow his head, he was alone in this world. His mother did not want to believe him, was Nohan really that unbelievable?

Nohan did not greet his mother anymore, he chose to lie quietly on the hospital gurney. Nohan's gaze was empty, as empty as his confidence that vanished somewhere.

Nohan increasingly felt that the world was cruel to him, he began to wonder. Did God really create him to live? But why was Nohan's life so horrible? Why, God?

If Nohan had a father, maybe none of this would have happened. His father would have believed in him, let him change schools, and he would have been free from the bullying of Jay and his friends.

Of course, wishful thinking always feels better than reality.

But if wishful thinking is bigger than action, then be careful. It will consume you, and make you live in a world of your own making; an illusion. Yes you will live in an illusion.

"I have to go to the police station, I've received a call from the commander," Mrs. Nohan said after a long silence.

Nohan just nodded weakly, after all, even if Nohan forbade it, him mother would not listen.

Nohan's mother stuffed something into Nohan's shirt pocket.

"Take good care of yourself, Nohan! I'm going!" The middle-aged woman said goodbye, leaving Nohan alone in his hospital room.

Nohan's mother had disappeared behind the door of the ward.

Now Nohan got up from his lying position, he sat up while thinking, could Nohan be the victim of bullying until graduation? Isn't that too horrible?

Yes, again the phrase if only was in Nohan's mind, as if it was the only thing that would befriend him.

"If my parents weren't my mom and dad, would my life be better, God?" Nohan asked while looking up.

God always listens to His servant's prayers, always grants them. But on one condition, you must prioritize God in running your life, in your daily breathing, and stepping on this earth.

Nohan has tried, but God has yet to fulfill his prayer. Maybe God is delaying it, so that he can be stronger.

Nohan now decided to get down from his gurney, he wanted to get out of his hospital room for a while.

Nohan went out while dragging the IV pole on his left. He walked through the hospital hallway, and stopped when someone called out to him.

"Hi!"

This time it was just "Hi!" with nothing added, Nohan was too used to being called "Hi, Loser!" and other "Hi!", and most recently "Hi, Socialist."

Nohan turned his head, looking at the figure of a teenage boy around his age sitting in a wheelchair.

"What's wrong with you?"

Nohan paused, this was the first time anyone had asked him such a question.

Would Nohan finally have a friend?

Would it be nice to have a friend? Well, it seemed nice, considering how his schoolmates were often hanging out, chatting, having fun, and of course Nohan could only look at them with a sour face.

"Hi! Are you okay?"

Nohan was even more amazed, it seemed like he would have friends now.

"Can't you talk?" the teenage boy asked in sign language.

Nohan paused, and immediately shook his head. Nohan knew a little sign language, his mother had taught him when he was in middle school.

"No! I can talk!" said Nohan still standing where he was.

People passed by along the hospital hallway.

The teenage boy smiled, approached Nohan and extended his hand.

"My name is Nasai!" the boy said with a friendly smile.

Nohan nodded, unconsciously curling his lips perfectly. After all these years, this was the most perfect curve on Nohan's face.

"I'm Nohan!" he said as he shook Nasai's hand; the boy who was the same age as him.

Nasai immediately took Nohan to the park. He said he wanted to take Nohan to see the strange plants in the hospital garden.
