Want 1

"Seriously, Trixie? Do I looked like your fucking servant?" Krysie said, raising the folders filled with sales report that Trixie needs to review before submitting them to the boss.

"No!" Her co-worker laughed and shook her head. "I already reviewed that one. Just submit it to the boss."

"Why me?" Her forehead knotted in confusion.

"The boss wants to see your goddamn face, Krysie. Just go," Trixie replied and continue working on her computer.

Krysie glanced at her wristwatch. It's early seven in the morning and here they are, arguing about this matter. And this always happens every fucking day!

Since she started working on this company, Krysie never got the chance to meet their boss. She was interviewed by his secretary and got hired immediately even without formal interviews or such a company needs in hiring their employees. That kinda feels weird, but she got used to it. It's been a year and she's still here, so yeah.

She stomped her feet on the ground like a child that wasn't given a cotton candy. She heads towards her table and sat on her swivel chair with a grumpy face. She just got annoyed, how funny is that...

"Hey, have you heard the news?" Olivia, her co-office mate poked her. "Our boss's siblings are here! Gosh, I'm about to collapse."

Krysie raised her brows. "And?"

"Aren't you interested? Our boss is a handsome man with a high sex appeal. Women flocked on their feet as I've heard. I'm excited to meet them!" Olivia said.

She chuckled nonchalantly and opened her computer. "And you expect me to feel excited about meeting them? Damn, I didn't even seen the CEO's face."

Olivia hummed and pouted. "You're right. But isn't it too unfair? You are the head of the Financial Department and you didn't even have the chance to meet and stare at our boss's handsome and greek god-like face."

Krysie forced a smile and proceeded with her MS word. "I don't give a damn, Olivia."

"Well..." Olivia turned her office chair and faced Krysie. "Men flocked on your feet, too. Maybe that's why you are not interested in meeting our CEO's siblings and the CEO itself. Shiz, you make us all envious!"

She just chuckled upon Olivia's remark and started doing her work. Her mind's in focus on her job because she need to get everything done. The month is almost over and that makes every head of the company's department busy. They need to compile the weekly reports and such.

"Hey, Krysie. Aaron wants to give this to you," Antheia said and handed her a bouquet full of flowers in the middle of working hours.

She murmured her thank you and secretly put it inside her trash can. She lifts her gaze on Antheia and forced a smile. "Do you need something, Antheia?"

"You're lucky, did you know that?" she said. "Aaron is one of the girl's dream guys here in our company, and there you are throwing every gift he'll give you."

Krysie clenched her jaw and leaned against her seat. "I'm not lucky, Antheia. It's just that he was blinded with the thought that he likes me."

"He likes you!" Olivia interjected. "I know. I've read one of his letters during our Christmas party before I send it to the monks. He likes you, a lot! Since you entered our company."

"That makes you very lucky, Krysie." Antheia took a deep breath. "I'll go ahead. Bye, girls."

She watched Antheia turned around and head towards the elevator. The moment she vanished from her vision, she let out a deep sigh. Krysie reached for the mirror on her drawer and lift it in front of her face to stare at her reflection.

Antheia was wrong. She ain't lucky at all. Her face only brought her nothing but horrible experiences that kept hunting her even in her waking hours. If going into plastic surgery is her only choice, she would have done that several years ago. But she can't... She just can't.

"Done staring at yourself?" Sunny asked, interrupting her deep thoughts. "Anyways, Aaron said he'll be waiting for you at the lobby. He said you'll be going out for a lunch."

Krysie nodded and smiled. "Thank you, Sunny."

Aaron Gaisler has been her suitor for almost a year. She kept rejecting him and he said he don't take no for an answer that's why up until now, he's still courting her for a yes.

Aaron is a good catch. In terms of look department, he has too. That's why according to Antheia, every girl in their company is aiming to have Aaron as their man. Aside from he is damn handsome, in terms of monetary, he can sustain a family or two. As far as she knows, Aaron's family are all professionals. His mother is a dermatologist, his father is an architect and his younger sister is a registered nurse in Hawaii. In other words, they are rich.

"Krysie! It's lunch break! Aren't you going down?" Olivia chanted.

Krysie closed my eyes tightly and leaned against her seat. She massaged her temple because of stress and blew some strands of her bangs.

"Thanks for reminding me, Olivia," she said.

Olivia smiled. "You looked like a robot while typing on your computer. You seldomly blink your eyes just like... are you sure you're a human and not a fucking robot?"

Krysie chuckled and clicked her computer to sleep. Olivia was right. She was too preoccupied with thoughts inside her head and then her eyes would go dilated and she'll seldomly blink her eyes whenever she's in that state.

"Are you heading towards the cafeteria?" Trixie asked her.

Krysie shrugged. "I'll be going out with Aaron for a lunch."

"Are you sure you both are not in a relationship?" Olivia eyed her suspiciously which made the latter chuckled.

"We really are not, Olivia. You're too malicious," Krysie replied and stood. "Let's go?"

"Can we tag along on your date?" Trixie smiled sheepishly.

"No. We shouldn't," Olivia contradicted. "It's their date, you bitch. And another thing, I know you want to see the CEO's sibling's arrival any moment by now. We shouldn't miss that chance!"

Krysie shook her head while watching her co-office mates slash friends being hysterical about meeting the CEO's siblings.

She just can't relate.

"YOU'RE good in manipulating department, Elias." Carson shook his head with a triumphant smirk on his face.

Hunter was busy signing some paperworks to visit Elias's company today. He wanted to see her. It's been three years and he would be gone crazy if another year would be added of not being able to see her, to touch her, and feel her. Damn. He needs her to remain sane!

"She thinks she can run away from us," Elias said. "There's no way I'll let that happen."

"Me, too." Carson tossed his phone in the air. "Damn, I'm excited to see her again."

"Hunter," Elias called for their eldest brother. "Aren't you excited to see her?"

Carson threw Elias his phone which the latter dodged. "He's more excited than us, dumbshit."

Carson and Elias smirked. Hunter may be had this cold personality, but he's more obsessed with their step-sibling, Krysie. Who knows that maybe among the three of them, Hunter had the most wicked plans... or maybe Elias, or Carson.

They are siblings. They may be different in other departments, but they somehow share some personalities

"Have you heard about that Aaron guy?" Carson suddenly blurted. "I heard he's trying to invade our territory."

"You mean, Aaron Gaisler?" Elias asked. "Where did you heard that news?"

"That fling I had last night." Carson blows loud breath. "She's a good fuck. I forgot her name, but she said she's a friend with our girl."

"Fuck." Hunter slammed his table which made the two shook their head. "I can finish this shits later. Let's go."

Carson and Elias looked at each other and smirked.

Finally, the lion is about to make a move...

"WHAT'S with the commotion?" Krysie asked while watching the people at the entrance of the company she's working in.

"Maybe the CEO's siblings arrived." Aaron shrugged. "Let's go? We'll be late."

She just nodded they walked their way towards the building side by side.

"Are you okay? You looked tensed," he said when he noticed Krysie's discomforted expression.

She shook her head. "I'm good, Aaron. Maybe I'm just a little bit sleepy."

He nodded and didn't utter a single thing. They just continue walking until they reached the building's entrance.

"Krysie! Glad you're back," Trixie exclaimed. She looked so worried. "The boss was mad. He demands the report sales I handed to you this morning."

She felt my knees trembled. "W-what do you mean?"

"I told him I'll give it to him later, but he said that you should be the one to hand it to him at the top floor." Trixie was hysterical.

Krysie feels like her throat went dry. Without further ado, she ran the distance towards the elevator and hurriedly pressed her floor's button. She didn't got the chance to say goodbye to Aaron because of urgency.

She's afraid. She heard that the CEO would fire any employees instantly regardless of how many years their employees worked on

this company. He is that ruthless.

And she can't lose her job. The moment she left home to stand alone and depend on herself means she had no one to ask for help in times of scarcity.

"Hey, Krysie. Careful!" Olivia said after seeing her running in a stiletto.

"Fuck," Krysie murmured and reached for the sales report that was handed by Trixie. "Did the boss's siblings arrived?"

Olivia was hesitant to answer. "Yes. They visited our floor and the boss asked for the sales report. Trixie explained but he shut her up. He's scary."

Krysie swallowed as she felt a lump in her throat. I'm dead.

She ran back to the elevator and pressed the top floor. The moment the door closed, she brushed her wavy hair using her fingers to fix it as it was messy a while ago. She also fixed her office attire, especially her fitted pencil-cut skirt that was lifted a little because of her running scenes a moment ago. She wiped her sweats and smelled herself.

"Thank God I had that long-lasting perfume," she murmured to herself.

As the door opened, she plastered her practiced smile and turned to face the secretary that immediately stood after seeing her.

"Move quickly, Sey. The boss is mad," the secretary said.

She nervously bit her lip and nodded her head. "Yes, sir."

Krysie went straight towards the CEO's door. She took a deep breath and knocked thrice even if her hands are sweating cold and her knees trembled in fear of being fired.

I just hope he won't and give a little mercy on me.

"Come in," said b cold and baritone voice.

She gulped and held the folder tightly as she turned the knob to open the door. She walked inside the office with her head down and closed the door behind her.

Krysie inhaled deeply and lifted her gaze to face the CEO. She almost loses her strength the moment her eyes landed on the man sitting on the swivel chair with a blank stare. She then looks at the two people sitting on the long sofa and both are wearing a smirk on their faces.

"Hey, princess. Did you missed us?"

Oh, damn...

Chapter 2 The meeting

"Are you excited to meet them?" her mom asked in joy.

Krysie blew a loud breath and closed her luggage. She picked up her brown shoulder bag and see to it if she ever forgot something before they'll proceed and left this small apartment of hers.

"No, I'm not," she replied bluntly. "You know, mom, I'm already eighteen. I can manage on my own. I am in my legal age. Stop acting like I'm a baby."

"You are my baby." She walked in her direction and caressed her face. She tucked some strands of Krysie's hair behind her ears and smiled. "You are the only treasure he left to me. I can't stand watching you living alone in this world and not being able to attend your school because of your part-time works.

"You can live with me and Hermano until you finish your study. He would be happy knowing my princess will be living with me."

After her daddy died three years ago, she started living and working on her own. She barely attends school because of her part-time works and thankfully, the administrators of that school considered her situation. They would hand her a bunch of bound modules that she needs to answer and submit to them. It's okay if she doesn't ace her school year. As long as she's breathing, she's fine with that.

"What if they won't like me?" she asked in a low voice. "Look, they are filthy rich, mom. I can't even afford to buy my own phone."

She leaned in and kissed her forehead. "They are kind, Sey. They won't think it that way."

She bit her lip and just nodded in response. She has no other choice but to come with her mom. She was fired from her job as a waitress in a certain coffee shop because she's always in dazed and sleepy.

"Okay." She twisted her lips and took a deep breath. "Let's go?"

"Sure!" her mother exclaimed.

Krysie picked up her shoulder bag and was about to reach her luggage when someone reached it first. She lifts her eyes only to see a man in bodyguard attire holding her luggage.

"Sey," her mom called her. "Let my bodyguards handle everything. Let's go."

She didn't even get the chance to utter a word when her mom held her wrist and dragged her out of her apartment. She even needs to turn her head to take a last glimpse of her cute apartment.

She was kicked out because she can't pay the rent anymore. Many people tried to encourage her to use her beauty to attract money, but she says no to it. She's not into that. She also had no confidence in her beauty.

"You kept spacing out lately." Her mother's words dragged her out of her reverie. "Don't think too much, okay?"

Krysie forced herself to smile and nod. The moment they arrived in front of a shiny car, the guy standing near the door opened the backseat for them. Her mom went in first before her.

"Why does he have to open the door? We have hands," Krysie murmured to herself and that sentence reached her mother's ear.

Her mom- Millet- chuckled. "Oh, dear. They are paid to do that task."

"You didn't tell me that opening a door for someone is paid. I should've applied as one," the young lady retorted.

Her mom just shook her head and commanded the driver to start driving. Krysie on the other hand leaned against her seat and inhaled the luxurious smell of rose surrounding inside the car.

"Baby," her mom said. "Your brother, Carson, said that he's excited to meet you."

The young lady, Krysie massaged her temple. "Y-Yeah, me too."

I'm nervous as hell!

"STOP smiling like an idiot, man." Elias throws Carson a throw pillow and it hit his head.

"Hey! What's wrong with my smile? Don't tell me you fall in love with my charm?" Carson, the youngest of Adamson siblings said.

Elias chuckled. "That's cringe."

Carson shook his head and leaned on his seat inside their elder brother's library, Hunter. "I'm just excited to meet that daughter of Millet. She said she's a beauty."

"Of course she'll say that. It's her daughter. It would be rude if she'll say that her daughter is ugly." Elias laughed. "I bet she's just average or below."

Carson blows a loud breath. "I was wondering how Hunter would react about this? I mean, he doesn't want anyone in this house, not even our relatives. And Millet would just bring her daughter here?"

Elias paused and nodded afterward. "Yeah, you're right."

"And they would be here any moment by now," Carson added while glancing at his wristwatch.

"And Hunter," Elias replied. "They are all on their way here."

Their conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door and was followed by a voice. "Young masters, Madam Millet and her daughter had arrived."

The two looked at each other and it was Carson who first stands. He tilted his head to encourage his older brother to come down with him to their manor's living room.

Elias closed the book he was busy scanning and stood, following his younger brother all their way out of their eldest's library. They spent most of their time in their brother's library. They are that close to each other.

"It doesn't seem to look like they've been preparing for that brat's arrival." Elias's voice is full of sarcasm.

Carson let out a manly chuckle as they reached the first floor. Their eyes darted on the lady wearing blue fitted pants and a hanging blouse that almost revealed her cute belly button.

Elias gulped as he watched the girl wandering her eyes around their manor until it stopped on his. He felt like his breath got took away the moment her electric blue orbs set on his.

"Oh, by the way, Krysie. This is my son. This is Elias, the second from the eldest and this is Carson, my youngest."

KRYSIE nodded her head and bowed politely to her step-brothers. They are handsome, she'll give them that. They also had this intimidating aura that would seriously make her knees tremble.

"H-Hi. I'm Krysie Forsuello," she said.

The guy named Elias looks at him in a very cold manner. His dark blue orbs were looking at her as if he's consuming her energy through his blank stare. On the other hand, the guy named Carson smiled.

"Hi, Krysie. Welcome to your new home."

She suddenly felt relieved after hearing Carson's words. She almost thought that none of Hermano's son likes her around. The way Elias stare at her, it's like she was an unpleasant bug in their home.

"Carson, can you take Sey to her room? I and Millet will be preparing for our dinner. Hunter will be here any moment by now," said Hermano.

She saw Carson looked at Elias before nodding his head in approval. "Let's go, Sey?"

Krysie bit her lip and nodded her head. Carson leads the way and her mother gently pushed her to follow her step-brother upstairs.

Because of nervousness, Krysie didn't turn her head to look at Elias and just followed Carson upstairs.

"I'm sorry for my brother's behavior." Carson smile while they are making their way upstairs.

Krysie just smiled. "It's fine. I just felt nervous. I thought none of you likes me around."

Carson nodded. "I see. Anyway, how old are you?"

"I'm eighteen," she immediately responded. "How about you?"

"Oh, I'm twenty," he said; not taking his smile off of his handsome face. "My brother, Elias is twenty-three and our eldest is twenty-five."

"Eldest? What's his name?" Krysie asked in curiosity.

"Hunter," Carson replied. "We have no sister that's why we are happy that you are here. You'll be our princess."

She smiled upon hearing Carson's remark. They stopped in front of a door and Carson turned to face her.

"This will be your room. That one is mine," he said; pointing the door just right in front of hers. "You can always knock on my door if you need something."

She nodded. "Are you always inside? I mean, do you have work?"

"I'm a licensed professor in my brother's school. Tita Millet enrolled you there and I am your research professor," he said.

She bit her lip. She's still in her twelve-year in high school, and she's sure it would take her five years to finish her study if she'll take business management.

"So how am I supposed to address you?" she asked in a low tone because she's shy.

Carson chuckled. "It's up to you. But don't call me professor or sir. You are my sister so address me least formally."

She scratched the back of her ears and bit her lips; thinking of unique ways to address her step-brother. And then Sanya- her co-waitress in her former job- popped inside her head.

That's right! Kuya. I remembered! She thought.

"Uhm, how about Kuya?" She smiled shyly. "Kuya means older brother in Filipino. How about that?"

Carson shrugged. "It's up to you."

"Okay, Kuya." She smiled.

He nodded his head and smile. His hand reached for Krysie's head and ruffled her hair. "Get inside now. Take a good rest. I'll call you when it's dinner."

HUNTER slammed his table hard that caused the things above it to flip and fell on the ground.

"Who allowed her to bring her brat inside mom's territory?" His cold voice dominated the four corners of his office.

"Just go home already, dude." Those are the last words that came out from Elias before the line beeped.

He angrily reached for his suit and attaché case. Hunter commanded his secretary to ready his car in front of the building and to cancel any appointments he had for tonight.

He stormed out of his office and went straight into the already opened elevator door where his personal assistant is waiting for him.

"Her name is Krysie Forsuello. She's eighteen years old and was a former waitress at Little Collin's coffee shop. She seldomly attends school because of her job. She's living in a small apartment alone after her father died because of lung cancer," his secretary said.

Hunter's jaw clenched. "What more?"

"Her academic records after her father's death descended-"

"Hand me the files," he cut his secretary.

The secretary handed him the folder filled with Krysie's personal information, his stepmom's brat.

Hunter scanned the files and flipped the pages to see her pictures. There was a picture where she was wearing her gown for prom that revealed her cleavage. The sight of it made him clenched his jaw.

He continues flipping other pages. The last picture flashed before his eyes where she's only wearing a two-piece and she's with her friends? Well, that is what he thought.

Her porcelain skin shone against the light of the sun. Her shoulder-length hair was blown by the wind. Her electric blue eyes that's very captivating. She looks like a doll. Looking so fragile and expensive.

So this is Millet's brat?

"Good evening, sir. The car is ready." His butler runs in his direction and politely handed him the keys.

Hunter didn't utter a single word. He accepted the keys and head towards his car. He threw his attaché case on the passenger's seat and went inside. He immediately started the car's engine and maneuvered the car away from his company's building.

His hand reached for the folder once again and glanced at the smiling face of her step-mom's brat. His jaw clenched and he bit his lower lip in annoyance.

He should be annoyed because some introvert entered his territory. But why is he more irritated that his car doesn't run faster than usual to arrive fast on their mansion?

KRYSIE turned her body again in front of the mirror inside this room. She'd been checking herself if she looks presentable on her clothes. She's kind of conscious. Of course, who wouldn't? You would be dealing with two handsome and greek-god-faced step-siblings. Of course, you will surely feel conscious about yourself!

She's wearing a simple blue faded short and a white shirt. This is not her home-based attire. She usually wears an oversized shirt, very short shorts, and her hair's messy. But now, look. Her waist-length hair is now neatly tied in a low ponytail.

I looked like a human for the first time! She scoffed to herself and took a glance around her room.

This is much larger than her whole apartment. The area of her room is like the size of the shower area in this mansion. She felt small. She never knew that luxury could be this overwhelming.

May I remind you that this is just a temporary queen-like life, Krysie. A voice inside her head said.

She yawned and stare at herself back again in the mirror. She pouted her cute small lips.

"I'm nervous," she murmured.

Someone suddenly knocked on her door. Krysie hurriedly looked for her slippers and head towards the door. She turned the knob and open the door to see who's knocking.

"Hey, princess- what the hell?" Carson scanned her whole being and again, she felt conscious. "Why are you wearing that? It's too short."

Krysie bit her lips. "Uhm, I'm not comfortable wearing pajamas. D-do I look ugly? Uhm, should I change?"

Carson clenched his jaw and shook his head. "Maybe later. Hunter and the dinner's waiting."

Krysie twisted her lips and nodded. "Okay, Kuya."

They walked downstairs silently. But the moment they were about to enter the dining area, Krysie reached the hem of Carson's shirt.

He looks at him questioningly. "What's the matter?"

She pulled her hand and apologized. "N-nothing."

Carson smiled and reached for her wrist. He pulled her more beside her. "Don't worry. My brothers won't bite."

Krysie bit her lip again and nod. They proceeded inside the dining area and she was welcomed by the cold stare of a man sitting at the edge of the rectangular shape table. She unconsciously took a step back.

His stares would literally kill me!

Chapter 3 Want 3

Krysie was silently chewing her food. She felt suffocated. She could barely swallow her food because of her mom's family's presence. The cold and intimidating aura coming from the two sons of Hermano.

"What are you thinking?" the eldest, Hunter said. "Why did you let your mistress' brat move here?"

"Hunter, watch your words," Hermano said.

The man named Hunter dropped his spoon and fork and it created a very unwanted noise as it touches the crystal plate. He leaned against his seat and look at her in pure disgust. "What do you think of our manor? An adoption center?"

Krysie completely lost her appetite. She slowly put down her spoon and forced herself to drink the glass of water that was just right beside her. She then wiped her lips using the tissue and took a deep breath.

"Krysie is Millet's daughter. She's your step-sister." Hermano's voice came out cold.

"Hell, no." The man abruptly stood and eyed her making the latter look down in shame.

Hunter stormed out of the dining area, leaving the room quiet and in a heavy atmosphere. She lifted her eyes to look at her mom and Hermano.

"I-I'm done," she uttered.

A gasp escaped from her mouth when Carson stood and held her wrist. And without further words, he dragged her out of the dining area and proceeded upstairs.

Krysie bit her lip to rein a sob. She was hurt. It's always like this. She always feels unwanted. And all she thought is that today and now would be different. But as people said, too much expectation would always lead you to disappointment.

They entered her room and he assisted her to sit on her bed. Carson lifted her chin and saw the tears forming on her electric blue eyes.

"Hey, why are you crying?" Carson asked.

She gently pushed his hand away and wiped her unshed tears. She sniffed and replied, "I-I'm good, Kuya."

"Sorry about that," Carson apologized. "Hunter wasn't used to-"

"It's fine," she cut him. "I-I'm used to this." She chuckled. "Maybe that's my hint. I need to leave. I didn't even last for a day."

"No." Carson held her hand and squeezed it gently. "You don't have to. I like you here. I'm happy you are here. Please don't leave."

The tears she was trying to stop suddenly escaped from her eyes as Carson pulled her for a warm embrace. She can't help herself but let out a soft sob as she cried on his shoulders.

This is the first time that someone hugged her tight and warm. She felt safe and warm inside. Even her father didn't hug her this warm and secure. It was always the liquors and cigarettes that her father adored. Not her.

"How can I make people like me?" Her voice cracked. "Why am I always unpleasant to everyone? Why is my existence make everyone feel so annoyed."

Carson hugged her more tightly and she felt him kissed her hair. "Hush now. If they don't like you, then your Kuya is here. I like you... I mean, I like you here. No need to fill your head with the thoughts of being unwanted."

"WHAT was that, Hunter? That was rude," Carson entered his library. "Sey was crying!"

"Why are you so concerned?" Elias tossed his rubics cube in the air. "She deserves it."

"She doesn't!" Carson sat along with the long sofa and massaged his temple.

"Why? Do you like her?" Hunter asked.

Carson lifted his gaze towards his older brother and scoffed. "I just want a sister."

"Krysie Forsuello is a beauty. Don't fool me by saying you just want a sister 'cause you fucking don't." Elias smirked.

Carson gulped and looked away. His brother just caught him off guard. What Elias said was true. Krysie is a beauty and hugging her a moment ago before the lady doze to sleep is the definition of heaven for him.

He can still feel her soft and smooth skin, smell her natural scent, and even the way she bit her lip whenever she feels embarrassed it's fucking lingering in his mind!

"Cat got your tongue?" Elias smirked. "You liked her more than a sister, Professor Carson."

Carson shook his head and grinned. "So what? Yes, I like her. And it's enough to make you two let her stay."

Hunter stared at his younger brother, then his mind flashbacks the scene the moment Carson and that Krysie girl entered the dining room.

"Then if she'll insist to stay, let her face the consequences of being an unpleasant bug inside our manor," Hunter said with finality and stood.

Elias and Carson watched their eldest stormed out of the library, leaving the two of them alone in the room.

"Damn," Carson cursed. "We've spent many years together, yet I still can't predict how his mind works."

"He's not Hunter for nothing."

KRYSIE started packing her things. This is final. She'll leave Adamson's manor. If they don't like her here, why not force herself on them? Besides, she survived for three years without anyone to hold on to. This is just normal for her.

"What the hell are you doing, Sey?" Someone slammed her door open.

She turned to see who talked and found out it was Carson. She glanced at the digital clock on her nightstand only to see it was two in the morning.

"Packing my things." She smiled. "Why are you still awake?"

"I heard your sniffs outside." He walked towards me and held my wrist. "You're not going to leave."

"But they don't like me-"

"I said I like you," he cut her. "I already convinced my brother so you'll stay."

"Carson..." Her eyes teared.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her for a hug. Krysie bit her lip to suppress a sob and shamelessly nuzzled at her step-brother's neck.

She felt at ease whenever she's with Carson. The heavy feeling she always feels would instantly vanish whenever he said some heart-fluttering words.

"You'll be alright here," she heard him whispered.

She felt something penetrating her nape and it was too late for her to realized Carson injected her something that makes her feel dizzy and sleepy.

"For now, sleep."

SHE got up from the bed and massaged her temple. Her eyes darted on where she placed her luggage as far as she remembered. But she found nothing. There was no hint of luggage placed above the sofa-bed where she placed it.

Krysie bit her lip in annoyance and went to see the wardrobe inside this room. And the moment she opened the door, it was there. Hanged and properly fixed.

Who the hell did this? I can't remember fixing this last night?

"You're awake," said someone.

She turned her head to see the speaker and found out it was Carson. "Hey, good morning."

"Good morning." He glanced at his wristwatch. "Fix yourself we'll go out buy your school supplies for this Monday."

Her forehead knotted. "You have no work?"

"Baby, it's Saturday. I deserve a rest." He glanced at his wristwatch once again. "I'll wait for you in the living room. Move quickly."

Sey has left no choice but to take a fresh bath to make herself look presentable. She chooses to wear black fitted pants, a white spaghetti strap fitted crop top, and white converse shoes. She curled the tips of her hair and taint her lips with a candy apple lip tint.

"THANK you," Krysie said along their way out of the national book store. "You seriously don't have to bother yourself."

Carson stared at her face glimmering with happiness while looking at the complete book versions of Happy Potter he bought for her. "It's fine. I told you, just tell anything and I'll give it to you."

He watched her smiled. "I'm happy. I never felt this kind of happiness before."

Carson's heart felt warmth after hearing Krysie's words. Her innocent-looking face and a genuine smile are making his heart beat multiple times in a split of seconds. Krysie is a beauty, indeed.

"I'm glad you're happy," he replied.

The lady's face suddenly turned grim like she remembered something. "But Kuya Elias and Kuya Hunter doesn't seem to like me."

Carson wrapped his arms around Krysie's shoulders, not to comfort her, but to tell those guys who kept eyeing her that she's not available anymore.

"Just win their heart," he said. "Elias is kind and easy to please. He may look so distant but he's clingy when you get attached to him."

Krysie giggled which made him smile. "Really? That's cute! I love clingy brothers! You know, cuddle and do wrestling together just like how my friends and their siblings were. Damn, I want that, too!"

Carson can't help himself not to chuckle looking at her getting too excited about something that'll never happen. "Well, yeah."

He kissed her hair tightened the hug of her shoulders. Guys looking at Krysie is starting to get through his nerves.

"Baby," he said. "Do you have a boyfriend?"

Krysie immediately shook her head which made Carson smile. He's glad. "I never had a boyfriend, Kuya."

"That's good-"

"Is that Kuya Elias?" she cut him.

Carson looks at where she pointed and nodded his head. "Yeah."

Krysie smiled sadly. "How can I win their heart? When I think they left no space for me..."

"You can win them someday. It'll take time, but it'll be worth it. I'm willing to help you," he said; trying to encourage her with his words.

The next thing that Krysie did was out of his expectations. She suddenly wrapped her arms around him and kissed him in the jaw.

"Thank you, Kuya. You're the best."

"HE'S being soft towards that brat," Elias said while clenching his jaw. "How can we able to shove her away when he's making her feel at home?"

Hunter was just silent, maybe thinking of ways how to throw their stepsister out of their manor. It's not like they don't like her. They don't want her presence in this mansion.

"Let him," Hunter replied. "You know Carson. Once he got tired of a woman, he'll side with us soon. Calm your tits."

Elias rolled his eyes and excused himself before storming out of Hunter's library. He's mad. Especially, on what he saw in the mall this afternoon. He doesn't know what got him mad, but maybe the thought that Krysie is flirting with Carson.

That brat.

He heads towards their pool area. Elias lighted the stick of cigarette he was holding and placed it in between his lips.

He sat at one of the lounges and stare at the pool like a lost boy; just like what he always does whenever he's in their pool area. He felt peace in this place and this serves as their freedom.

"Smoking is bad for your health, Kuya," someone interrupted his deep thoughts.

He lifted his gaze and meet hers. Elias didn't know why but he suddenly felt overwhelmed by just the sight of her.

She's wearing a maroon nightie and she's holding a glass of milk. He immediately diverted his gaze back to the pool.

Damn her long legs. I'm curious how it'll felt against my hands.

"What are you doing here?" he asked coldly.

He saw his peripheral vision on how she smiled and sat beside the lounge next to where he was sitting at the moment.

"I-I was thinking on making your milk," she said. "I followed you where you are heading that's w-why I'm here." She suddenly coughs after he blows some smokes.

He unconsciously dropped his cigarette on the floor and stomp it to finally take off the fire.

"Get inside. It's cold here," Elias said.

She handed him the milk. "Here. If you can't sleep, you can drink a glass of milk."

Elias looked at her. He doesn't know why he's very captivated by her electric blue eyes. His eyes dropped on her smiling lips... it looks inviting.

With all the courage he had. He pushed Krysie's hand making her lost the grip from the glass and it fell through the hard surface causing it to break.

He looks at her and saw how tears formed in her eyes. He suddenly felt awful and guilty. He knew she's making an effort to win their approval, but here he is. Testing her patience.

"Get inside," was all Elias said and stood.

His strides were faster than usual as he entered the mansion. He's tempted to look back, but he can't. He's damn guilty and if ever he'll glance back, he's sure he'll make something stupid decisions just like how his brother- Carter did.

KRYSIE wiped her tears while staring at the spilled milk and broken glass. She would probably be lying if she'll say she's fine and she wasn't hurt.

Maybe he really has a stone heart. She thought.

She stood and wiped her tears and decided to clean the mess. She doesn't want to bother her mother anymore about this kind of matter. She's Krysie Forsuello. She doesn't back out.

She immediately heads inside the mansion. She needs rest. After all, the next days would be a battle for her to win.

And that is winning her stepsiblings' hearts.
