Chapter 1 As You Wish

In the darksome room, a man was standing in front of the French window and looking deeply at the inky night out there with his brows tightly furrowed.

There was a will that had just been opened on the desk behind the man, and there were only two short lines on the piece of paper, of which the meaning was simple yet shocking.

"President Bennett, is there anything wrong with...the will?" Gale Evans looked at the two lines in horror, his voice growing weaker and weaker.

Edwin Bennett took a deep breath, then turned to look at the will. After a pause for half a second, he ordered coldly, "Find her and arrange the wedding as soon as possible!"

"Sir, do you really want to marry her?"

"Or what?" Edwin curled his lips in an icy arc, saying, "Since my father has arranged so, I won't disappoint him."

"Well...Okay then, I'll arrange it for you."

After Gale left, Edwin's facial expression became even gloomier. He picked up the will and stared at the satirical words on it with a deeper and colder arc upon his mouth. "Effie Fletcher, as you wish, I will marry you!"

At a bar called Blues somewhere in the same city...

Deafening heavy metal music was impacting Effie's eardrums. Frowning and looking around with an anxious expression, she took out her cell phone and kept dialing a number until she saw a man lying on the ground not far away and that several guys were beating and kicking him.

The next second, Effie picked up a beer bottle from the table nearby and rushed over to them.

"Stop it!" She tried to protect the boy, who curled up and covered his head with his blood-stained arms while glaring at those men. "Or I will call the police!"

"Call the police? Haha..."

The thugs burst into laughter as if the girl had just told a joke.

When the boy heard Effie's voice, he burst into tears, saying, "Effie, save me!"

"Herman, my brother, don't be afraid. I'm right here." Effie looked at her younger brother, with distress, then helped him up from the ground. Seeing that the boy's forehead was bleeding, Effie took his hand and ran outwards. "I'm taking you to the hospital."

"Sister and brother..." The men stood in a line and blocked their way. "Great, it'll be easier to settle the matter with an elder around."

"The woman herself is too young. Are you sure she can solve the problem?"

"Too young? Well, from my point of view..." One bald man among the thugs fixed his eyes upon Effie's chest indecently, continuing, "She is mature enough!"

Again, the men burst out laughing.

At the words, Herman Fletcher protected Effie behind him, saying, "Come at me. Don't harm my sister!"

"You? Hehe..." The man grabbed Herman by his hair, jerked it back, then said with a bleak look in his eyes, "Who do you think you are?"

"Let him go!" Effie started at the bald man and threatened him with the beer bottle in hand. "Otherwise, I will pull no punches!"

"Good! Do pull no punches! Go ahead!" The bald man pushed Herman away, turned to Effie, looked at her obscenely, and pointed at the top of his own head, saying, "Strike me right at here!"

Under his threat, Effie involuntarily took a step back. The bald man grabbed her by the wrist and fiercely dragged her towards him. Uncontrollably, the woman's body moved towards the man.

Witnessing what was going on, Herman rushed over like crazy, "Damn it! Don't touch my sister!"

The bald man grabbed Herman by the collar, clenched his fist, and slammed it at him. Suddenly, the beer bottle was smashed on the thug's head, and his face was instantly covered with blood and looked extremely ferocious.

In an instant, everyone on the spot was shocked.

Even Herman could not believe what he had seen and looked at Effie in disbelief.

Effie was stunned. The next second, she dropped the bottle and took Herman's hand to run outwards.

Chapter 2 Even if He Is a Dog

It was dark outside the bar, and there was no light on the pitch-black road. Fearlessly, Effie took Herman's hand and ran out of the alley like mad.

Five to six men were chasing after them closely.

While running, Herman looked back in horror. "Effie, what should we do now?"

Effie also looked back to find that those men were close enough to them to catch her and her brother by merely reaching out their arms. Involuntarily, her heart tightened up, thinking that they would probably die in misery if the thugs caught them.

Just as Effie was thinking about how to come through the crisis, a black business vehicle abruptly stopped in front of them with one of its doors open. A man inside shouted at Effie, "Get in the car!"

Effie, without the slightest hesitation, lifted her feet to rush into the auto.

Just as her feet landed upon the car, Herman's hand left her grip as he got caught by those pursuers. She turned back in horror, shouting, "Herman!" However, the door closed at this moment.

"Open the door!" Effie saw her younger brother being punched and kicked by the mobs through the window with bloodshot eyes and kept slapping the door like crazy. "Open it immediately!"

"You want to save him, don't you?" The man in the vehicle asked leisurely. His indifferent expression formed a stark contrast to the anxious look in Effie's eyes.

The woman paused for a second, then instantly turned to look at the man.

In the dark carriage, the sitting man appeared like a ghost. Effie could not see his appearance clearly but only a rough outline. Even so, a coldness rose from the bottom of her heart while she nerved herself to ask, "What do you mean?"

"Here is a document. As long as you sign it, I will save your brother in no time. Otherwise..." The man turned to look outside the window, continuing, "I doubt if he could hang in there for five more minutes."

Effie tilted her head to look at the document. But it was too dark for her to see the content.

"Also, I'll give you a large sum of money to repay the debts owed by your brother and send him to a standard drug rehabilitation center."

"Who are you? Why did you come to me? "Effie looked at the stranger defensively.

"It doesn't matter who I am. What does matter is that...I can provide the help you need!" The man stared at the woman with a cold look in his eyes and curled up his lips slightly. "Unless you're happy to watch your brother die!"

With that, he turned to look out of the window.

At this moment, Herman had already lost resistance ability. Being kicked and punched mercilessly, he did not even have the strength to cry for help.

Given no time to wait, Effie signed her name on the document without a second look. Then, she threw the pen away and glared at the man with her teeth clenched. "Now save him!"

"Good!" The man glanced at Effie's signature. While lifting his lips, he ordered his subordinates that were sitting in the front of the car. "Save him!"

Three days later, a grand wedding was held in the most luxurious hotel in Beacon City.

As the bride, Effie then realized what kind of document she had signed back then.

Although the woman had no idea why that man had come to her, it was worthwhile to save her brother's life with her marriage.

Furthermore, this marriage only had to last for one day.

However, when Effie saw that it was a poodle who showed up at the wedding. As broad-minded as she was, the woman could no longer remain calm.

That man was going too far.

Facing the poodle wearing a bow tie, Effie thought inwardly, "Fuck! I'll quit." However, she eventually managed to tamp down her anger.

"Miss Fletcher, from this day forward, would you like to spend your whole life with him, for richer or poorer, till death parts you two?" The host looked at Effie with a bantering smile, waiting for her response.

Looking at the poodle, Effie first twitched her lips, then flashed a graceful smile, saying, "I do! Even if he is a dog!" Since the man was in the mood to play, she would play with him.

Was not the man suggesting that the dog was his avatar? Well, Effie was more than happy to help him fulfill his wish.

It was called reciprocity. Anyways, the man was Effie's creditor.

Chapter 3 Are You Having Fun

Effie's words immediately threw the spot in an uproar.

"Oh my gosh. Is this woman crazy? How dare she suggest that Mr. Bennett the Death is a dog?"

"That's barely a suggestion. She has made it like a piece of truth."

"This woman is so screwed. By offending Mr. Bennett the Death, she is throwing herself to eternal misery."

"Do you think she can live without misery if she had not offended Mr. Bennett? The Bennett Group is a leading enterprise in Beacon City or even the entire country. Edwin is such a powerful role. How could he marry this woman?"

"Indeed. Otherwise, he wouldn't have humiliated the woman with a dog."

"..."

At the same time, in a VIP suite of a hotel...

Edwin looked at the woman on the screen with a goblet in his hand, saying in an icy voice, "Excellent!"

"How dare that bitch call you a dog? I...Hey Edwin, where are you going?" While Celia Harris, the bridesmaid, spoke up for Edwin, the man abruptly stood up and walked outwards.

Effie walked off the stage at the wedding venue and headed for the lounge after finishing her task.

Suddenly, the woman's shoulders suffered an impact, and her body was pressed against the wall. The moment Effie sensed the air of danger, she heard a cold voice coming above her head, "Are you having fun?"

Effie got a fright but soon calmed down.

"Sir, who are you?" She looked at the man indifferently. Although she had never seen Edwin's face, she knew who he was by only listening to his voice.

Effie traded for Edwin's help at the cost of her very first marriage. Thus, the woman did not think she owed him anything in this equal, contractual relationship.

Besides, he even tried to humiliate her with a dog. In this case, why should she be respectful to him?

"Who am I?" Edwin squinted his eyes slightly and glanced at the woman with mockery. "Don't you even know your husband?"

"My husband? Hehe..." Effie could not help laughing. "Sir, are you mistaken? I've just married a doggie. You are not telling me that you are that dog, are you?"

Edwin's face instantly became livid with anger. "Effie Fletcher!"

The moment Effie looked into the man's gloomy, ferocious eyes, her heart tightened up. Intuitively, she moved closer to the wall, waiting for an opportunity to escape. At this moment, Edwin abruptly grabbed the woman by the arm and dragged her towards the room on one side of them.

"You let me go!" Effie struggled hard.

"I will let you go once you learn the consequences of offending a dog!" After that, Edwin kicked the door to the room next to him and growled at the waiter inside, "Get out!"

The waiter shivered with fright, then turned to run away.

Celia and the waiter almost bumped into each other. With no time to blame the latter's imprudence, Celia rushed to the doorway, asking, "Edwin, what are you doing?" After casting a jealous glance at Effie, Celia fixed her eyes upon the man's back, tall and full of rage. "Calm down! Such a woman isn't worthy of..."

Before Celia could finish her words, the door was slammed.

As the door hit against her nose tip, Celia instantly felt a sharp pain. However, sparing no attention to the ache, the woman hurried to pat the door for fear that something unwanted would happen in the room, shouting, "Edwin, open the door! Edwin..."

In the room, Edwin pushed Effie onto the bed.

"Edwin Bennett, what are you doing?" Effie's face was full of fear, but she managed to keep a powerful momentum. "Get off me!"

"What do you think I'm doing on our wedding night?" Edwin reached out to close the curtains, which immediately led the room into darkness.

"Don't you dare!" Effie stared at the man threateningly.
