The powerful alpha

Author: : Garcia Cooper
Genre: Werewolf
For years angel academy has taught students of all races and ability's, angels, werewolves, vampires, dragon riders, you name it. The school was created for a purpose, to help students reach their full potential and rise against the demons that vow to destroy the world as we know it. But one girl changes everything. Nobody has seen her powerful kind for thousands of years. Her power could bring about the victory or downfall of every supernatural aspect. To everyone around her she is just an ordinary werewolf with and unordinary appearance but in reality she is much more. She is a Mythica. She always knew she was different. She was told to keep her powers hidden, that people would fear her for who she is. But now. Everything is going to change

Chapter 1 One

Aurora was never like the other girls in her pack, she didn't care for pretty things or make up all she wanted was to be free, free to be who she really is. It wasn't that she thought makeup or the people who love and use it are bad, she had just never developed an interest in such things, she didn't exactly fit in. You see, she is not like the rest of her pack, she is different. It is because of this that her true powers must stay hidden from the world because she would be seen as the ultimate weapon. For good, or for evil.

In her small village, she lived alone with her father because he didn't want her to live in the Pack house with the others. She didn't know much about her mother as she had died in an accident when she was young and her father doesn't like to talk about it. The only friends that she has are the people that her father trusts. The pack misfits. She didn't mind though they are her escape.

*-*

"Hey, dad?" She asked looking over at her father.

He rubbed a hand through his dark brown hair and sighed.

"You know that you have to train later, right?" He questioned looking at her sternly, already knowing what She was about to ask.

"I know but it will only be for an hour or two" she pleaded. "please?"

"Fine but make sure that you're not late for training" he concluded, shaking his head.

"You can use the pack link if you need me" she sang edging her way to the door.

"Fine," he said throwing his hands in the air "but you know the rules"

"No powers" she replied mock saluting him.

The last time she used her powers in public was when she was 10 years old. Vicky, the pack bully tripped her in training and mocked her for being weak and defenceless, the runt of the pack.

Boy was she wrong.

Instead of morphing into wolf form, Aurora grew ebony black wings and propelled Vicky across the field using her wind element. She had lost control. She didn't kill her but Vicky was left with a scar across her left cheek, reminding her of her lack of control. Aurora's father and Alpha Scott allowed her to use her powers one more time, to make the whole pack forget, only knowing her as a hybrid, a werewolf with a dormant angel side hence her newly turned purple eyes. After that day she was told to never show her true powers to anyone, why? Well, that was exactly what she wanted to find out.

*-*

She belted out of the door and ran through the trees. Taking in the scent of pine and earth as she ran, her eyes were spectacular even in this form, she could see everything clearly, from the detail in the tree bark to the dewdrops coating the blades of grass. She knew that it was unusual for her eyes to be this way in her human form but then again nothing about her was normal.

Although her parents both had rather dark hair. Her hair was an enchanting white and has been that way since birth, she also had ocean blue eyes infused with a deep purple which darkened depending on her mood. Sometimes she wondered if they were even her real parents.

"Hey Aurora, where are you?" called Chase through the separate group link they accidentally created when they were younger.

"We've been waiting ages" sang Zack dramatically.

"I'm coming, I'm coming" she replied sending an image of her location through the link.

"Good, you're almost here" finished Max.

She burst through the trees into the open glade where they always meet.

"So, he finally let you out again," said Chase as he got to his feet.

She walked over to them and was engulfed in a group hug.

"He really needs to stop being so overprotective," said Max.

She nodded in response. She took in their faces and smiled, it had been too long since she had last seen them all. Her father used to complain about her hanging out with boys all of the time but he got used to it. She prefers it this way and wouldn't be caught dead wandering the woods with Vicky and her parade of followers who spent their time clinging to the top pack members in some sort of attempt to 'fit in' with Vicky, or impress her in order to gain popularity.

Aurora didn't judge the girls for this, at the end of the day it was their decision, but she wished that they would see that they didn't have to act differently to hang out with Vicky. After all, happiness is much more important than popularity, and Aurora was happy, she had her best friends by her side.

"What are you smiling about?" asked Zack snapping her out of her stare.

She shrugged her shoulders before moving to settle down on a nearby rock.

"So what's the deal with this school everyone is talking about?" She asked seriously.

"Our pack and a few others have been chosen to send its 16-year-olds, aka us, to learn combat and other stuff there" Max replied flopping down next to her.

"All of us" she questioned positioning her feet onto Max's lap.

"Yep" confirmed Zack popping the p.

"I thought it was a school for angels?" Chase asked with a sigh.

"What? Because it's called 'Angel academy'" She mocked chuckling.

He stuck his tongue out at her childishly, before he took a seat on the ground near them.

"No that's just its name. It's filled with loads of different supernatural creatures... even vamps" she said watching Chase as he shuddered.

"You watch too many movies," she said poking Chase in the side.

"Do you think they sparkle in the sun?" he asked getting distracted.

They all burst out laughing.

"Yeah sure, I bet they think that we worship the full moon and run around on our hinds like creepy hairy people as well," she said clutching her sides.

"Idiot" laughed Zack ruffling his hair.

"Coming from you" replied Chase with a grin.

"You're all idiots" She added wiping her eyes.

"Hey?! I haven't done anything" said Max, faking hurt.

They all laughed and talked about the academy and other random things getting regular movie references from Chase which just made them fall into a fit of laughter for the remaining time that they had to themselves. Her friends never saw her as different, they accepted her for who she was. She was one of them.

"Training is in half an hour. Don't be late" bellowed Alpha Scott's voice through the main pack link.

Aurora got to her feet and sighed.

"Duty calls," she said as they got to their feet.

"Race you there?" Asked Zack a mischievous grin forming on his face.

"You're on" they all replied at once.

She sprinted forward and ran through the glade towards the training ground, she stayed at Chase's heels letting him believe he was winning before running past him in a burst of speed. She heard a thud behind her to see that they had shifted into their wolf forms. Chase ran right next to her and gave her a wolfish grin before edging forward.

'No way' she thought as she passed the tree line.

She leapt over a log and landed in her wolf form. She looked back at Chase and returned the grin. She sprung forwards extending her paws and overtook Chase easily and continued racing forward.

Chapter 2 Two

Once they reached the grounds she skidded to a stop to wait for them to catch up.

"I win," she said happily,

"Again," said Zack laying in front of her panting.

"No fair I almost won this time" cried Chase through the link.

"Too slow," she laughed, knocking him off his feet.

They changed back into human form, their clothes reappearing.

"I'll never understand how that works," Zack said aloud, pushing his black hair from his face.

"Yeah" they all murmured in agreement.

They emerged from the trees and stepped onto the training grounds to see their packs Alpha standing in the middle.

"Steph will be taking training today, I have to sort out the school arrangements," he said loudly so everyone could hear him before running back into the trees in an urgent manner.

"Everyone get over here right now" Steph bellowed through the pack link, aiming it mostly at Scarlett and her followers.

They slinked over in tow with Scarlett, following her lead as she slumped up against a nearby tree and rolled her eyes.

"Start by doing 20 laps" called Steph.

Most of the girls sighed and fell back jogging slowly but Aurora ran straight to the front and led running at her comfortable pace. She had always enjoyed running it helped to clear her head.

Chase, Max, and Zack caught up and ran by her side silently. One more lap to go. She pushed herself a little faster and finished her last lap.

"I'm never sprinting here again" wheezed Zack

Aurora laughed aloud and steadied her breathing as the others slowly finished their laps.

"Okay, good job" called Steph walking over to where we all stood.

"Now, split into twos" he called. "We're gonna do some combat"

She looked at her three friends and sighed.

"Who wants to get their ass kicked" she mocked.

"In your dreams" exclaimed Zack jogging forward eager to prove her wrong.

Aurora and Zack stood a few feet apart and waited for everyone else to find their pairs.

"You will fight in your wolf forms" began Steph "you must make your partner submit to you in order to win"

She watched carefully as Zack cracked his knuckles and danced on the spot before changing into his wolf form. She began transitioning painlessly, watching as her hands turned to paws.

"I'm still jealous of your fur," said Zack taking in her pure, snowy white fur and striking blue eyes.

"It does make me stand out more to enemy's though" She replied looking at his grey fur.

"You look like Ghost," said Chase.

"Who?" Asked Max.

"Never mind" he sighed.

"Like I said, too much TV," she said shaking her head giving them a wolfish grin.

"But TV is amazing, I think that it is the human's best creation" replied Chase passionately.

"Get ready" came Seph's voice snapping their attention back to what they were meant to be doing.

"Go!" he called.

Aurora and Zack circled each other, both testing for weaknesses. She locked her blue eyes with his golden ones and growled lowly asking for submission. He returned to growl and lunged for her left shoulder. She leapt out of the way and jumped on top of him pinning him down with her weight. She nipped his leg and buried her teeth into his neck, holding him down. She watched as he squirmed around before releasing him and locking her eyes with his. She let out a loud rumbling growl and stood up tall above him. In response, he flattened his ears, broke eye contact and bowed his head. Happy with her quick victory she lifted her head high and looked around.

"Well done everyone" shouted Steph. "Change back"

Aurora quickly changed back and sat cross-legged on the floor. Zack quickly ran over to her and licked her across the face before changing back to human.

'Seriously?! What a moron' she thought, wiping the dog slobber off her face.

"That's for cutting my leg," he said childishly before he held out his hand to help her up with a smirk on his face.

She took it and got to her feet shaking her head. They joined Max and Chase and faced Steph.

"Everyone who is 16 go home now and gather what you will need for the academy, your guardians have received lists containing what you will need to take. You all leave tomorrow, sorry for the late notice everything will be explained when you get home" said the Alpha seriously through the pack link.

They all looked at each other worriedly.

"You heard him, go" shouted Steph as he walked back towards the pack house.

She looked at her friends and pulled them into a hug.

"See you tomorrow," she said smiling reassuringly.

She jumped back into her white wolf and ran into the trees heading home.

Aurora's POV:

I walked through the door to see my father sitting at the table with a serious expression on his face.

"Come sit," he said gesturing the chair opposite him.

I swiftly approached the table and sat down silently.

"As you are aware you are a hybrid of more than just a werewolf and an angel" he began slowly.

I nodded my head in response.

"Now that you're going to Angel academy you need to know what you are..."

He hesitated for a moment and sighed,

"You are a Mythica," he said cautiously as if it was some huge revelation.

I looked over at him and tilted my head in confusion, my mind racing for any recognition of the word. What the hell is a Mythica, I've read almost every species and ancient race book in the library and never heard of such a thing. How the hell does he know this?

I rubbed my hand down my face and shook my head looking him in the eye.

"I have never heard of this kind, what... what am I" I questioned resting my face in my hands.

"I'm sorry I have kept all mention of it away from you... It's an ancient race, the original beings of the supernatural word and they have been gone for thousands of years... until you came along"

I absorbed the information carefully.

"From birth, we knew you were different and always had suspicions but it was only when you awoke your angel side that we knew what you really were" he continued.

"Wait... us?" I asked.

"Your... your mother and I," he said looking down at the table.

"Who else knows?" I questioned.

"Nobody, but the Academy will help you understand who you really are," he said sincerely.

"How the hell would they know who I am if 'my kind' has been gone for thousands of years?" I asked starting to get angry.

I better get some real answers or I swear I'm gonna blow. I've always been told to hide my true self now suddenly there are people who can help me embrace who I truly am? Bullshit.

I crossed my arms impatiently and beckoned him to continue.

"The founders of the school were mostly angels, as you could probably guess by the name but what most people don't know, is that two people of the species Mythica created the school alongside the Archangels in a hope that all species would come together and fight against a common evil." He said, looking into my eyes calculatingly.

"The demons" I interrupted.

"Exactly, demons have hunted Mythicas since the start of time because they are the only beings capable of destroying Sebastian, they were hunted and killed so much that the race was almost wiped out, so after they created the school they gathered the remaining Mythicas and sealed away Sebastian, but he was a cunning man, he knew that they would come for him and got help from a witch to make sure that they got sealed away with him, Sebastian's absence and the rise of the angels kept the demons at bay for a while but they have been rising up to release their master to wreak havoc on the world and get revenge on the Archangels"

"Why would Sebastian want revenge on the Archangels," I asked massaging my temples.

"Because Sebastian is a fallen angel, he was rejected by angel kind for killing another angel in a lovesick quarrel for a woman called Athena"

"So you're telling me that Sebastian wants to destroy the world because he was rejected" I exclaimed.

"Pretty much, he was a lovesick fool whose mind was slowly corrupted by evil. " He finished.

"Okay," I sighed deeply "so what this all got to do with me?"

He looked at me again before retrieving an old book.

"There is a prophecy, that one day another Mythica would be born and rise up do defeat Sebastian once and for all," he said giving me the book.

"And you think that's me?" I laughed looking down at the old book.

"Please... just take it with you," he said.

"Okay, fine," I said in defeat.

"So, what is a Mythica," I asked eagerly, allowing my curiosity to get the better of me.

"A Mythica has a part of most or every supernatural creature inside them" he began.

"So what, I'm some sort of super hybrid freak?" I questioned wondering why the fuck I was only hearing about this now.

He sighed at my mood change and continued,

"You obviously are part werewolf and angel but as you know, you also are part vampire and witch along with other things that you have yet to discover."

"When the hell did I discover I was a vampire?!" That was it, he was officially crazy.

"The day that you lost control. You grew fangs and tried to rip Vicky's head off, and it's how you were able to make the pack forget about the whole thing, vampires have a small mind control capability" he stated.

"So my witch side is where my elemental powers come from?" I asked twirling a tornado at the tip of my finger.

"Yes"

"And why am I only hearing about this now?" I asked thinking my brain was going to explode.

"I didn't think you were ready, but now that you have to go to the academy I knew that I had to tell you, it would have come out one way or the other" he explained

I sat in silence thinking over everything he said.

"Okay, I'm glad you told me," I said deciding to let it go for a while, after all, this was the last time I would be seeing him for a while.

"I'm not hiding this from my friends... I can't lie to them again" I said looking down.

"If that's what you want," he said hesitantly "it's better coming from you I suppose, I'm sure the whole school will know sooner or later"

"Here is your list," he said ending the conversation, handing me a small piece of paper "gather your things, we leave at 6:30 am"

I accepted the paper and ran to my room clutching the old book he gave me tightly. Once I was inside I gathered some simple clothes and shoes, a hairbrush and other necessary things, packing them into a rucksack. We didn't need to take much as the school provides us with our uniforms to suit different activity's. I packed my favourite dagger and the old book into the rucksack before changing my clothes into my sleepwear. I slid into bed and thought over everything he just told me.

Everything was going to change.

Chapter 3 Three

The next morning I woke to the smell of breakfast cooking. I stretched my aching limbs, got up reluctantly and roamed into the bathroom to take a shower.

The scalding hot water streamed down on me as I picked up my coconut shampoo and scrubbed my drenched hair, I have always loved taking showers, I'm not one of those people who sing their hearts out but I do find them extremely relaxing.

I squeezed my drenched hair and wrapped myself in a fluffy towel, I threw on some underwear and made my way over to my wardrobe picking out a pair of my well worn black combat leggings, a crimson red t-shirt and my black leather jacket. I put them on quickly and ran my brush through my hair, braiding it back out of my face. I didn't bother with makeup and followed the smell of breakfast down the stairs into the kitchen.

"Morning" sang my father as I walked through the door.

I paused for a moment and burst out laughing upon seeing my dad attempt to flip pancakes dressed in my old pink sparkly apron from when I was a child.

"What are you doing?" I chuckled clutching my sides.

"Being a master chef," he replied as the pancake flew out of the pan and landed on the stove making it go up in flames.

"And failing," I said grabbing the fire extinguisher.

I put the fire out and turned to face my dad.

"This is why you do the bacon and I do the pancakes," I said handing him the extinguisher.

"Well at least I did the bacon right," he said handing me a plate of bacon and eggs.

"Thanks" I replied sitting down.

We wolfed down our breakfast quickly.

"We better leave soon," he said looking up at the clock.

6:20 am

I washed off my plate and ran upstairs to grab my bag, slinging it over my shoulders I ran back downstairs and pulled on my black combat boots.

"Let's go," I said as I ran through the door eagerly.

We walked through the forest in silence.

"Hey guys, have you left yet?" I called through the pack link.

"Yeah just left," said Max.

"Yeah, meet to the right of the pack house?" Asked Zack.

"Sure" agreed both me and Max.

"Chase?" I asked noticing his absence.

"CHASE!?" I screamed.

"I'm up, I'm up," said Chase unconvincingly.

I mentally shook my head at him. We emerged through the trees and continued along the open area of the pack house square, in the middle of the open glade, there were people gathered around a stage with a large round table in its centre.

I saw Max standing with Zack where they said that they would be and turned to say goodbye to my father.

"Go with your friends," he said. "I'll go stand by the other parents.

I hugged him tightly and smiled.

"Don't burn the house down when I'm gone" I laughed pulling away.

"See you soon and good luck" he laughed letting go of my hand.

I smiled at him one more time before running over to the others.

"Hey" I sang.

"Hey" they murmured back.

"Where the hell is Chase?" I questioned looking around.

"Late as usual" sighed Zack.

After a few minutes of waiting, we turned around to the sound of rustling to see Chase jump through the bushes with his bag slumped over one shoulder.

"Look who decided to join us," said Max raising his eyebrows.

He walked over to us and yawned, running his fingers through his unbrushed mousy brown hair.

He literally looked like he just woke up, and knowing Chase, he probably did.

"What?" He asked looking at our amused faces "I think this new morning look is hot"

"Whatever you say," said Zack rolling his eyes.

"Now that you're all here, there's something I need to tell you," I said looking at all of their faces in turn.

*_*

I quickly caught them up and they looked down at me their mouths forming an O shape.

"We knew you were different but holy shit Aurora," said Max shaking his head in disbelief.

"Your like some kind of superhero!" Shouted Chase excitedly earning himself a whack across the head by Zack.

"Can we not make a big deal out of this please, I don't really want everyone to know" I pleaded.

"Sure but we will help you figure everything out," said Max

"Thanks," I said giving them all a small group hug.

"Attention everyone" called Alpha Scott.

We turned to face the stage to see five people in hooded cloaks walking up to the table in the middle.

"You are all werewolves as I'm sure your aware" he called with a smile on his face. "But what you are not aware of is that some of you will have some extra gifts"

Mumbles broke out from the crowd and Chase nudged me and winked making me roll my eyes.

"Some of you could be hybrids and have a dormant side, which could potentially be awoken with some training, vampire being the most common among werewolves." he continued silencing the crowd,

"you will each come up and touch this stone which will glow a certain colour if you possess a certain gift" he explained.

We organized ourselves into a line and waited nervously. The first couple of people went up and the stone only glowed green, which meant that they were only a werewolf but when Cole touched it, it first went green and then turned red.

"Vampire hybrid" shouted one of the hooded people.

A couple more people filtered away.

"Witch hybrid"

"Another vampire hybrid"

It was Max's turn. He walked up to the stand and placed his hand on the stones smooth surface. It first gave off a dark green glow and then blazed with a light blue colour.

"Hunter hybrid" called the hooded figure.

He walked off to join the others who were standing by the group of four hooded figures.

Zack walked up to the table and held the stone in his hand. It turned green before glowing a brilliant purple.

"Angel hybrid!"

I looked over to Chase who was twirling his thumbs nervously.

"Guess that explains his golden eyes" I whispered knowing that angels have unusual eye colours.
