Chapter 1 The beginning

The dynamic 10th-grade high school students are preparing and packing their luggage. They are going to a village called Athens in Greece, and they are happy and excited, gathering all their stuff.

Their class teacher comes in and announces, "We'll depart in 10 minutes."

"Okay, sir!" they shout, and he leaves.

Peter, whose luggage and belongings exceed his bag's capacity, keeps trying to squeeze everything in. He has the most items among them, and he is the happiest and most anxious one. He has always been enthusiastic about traveling to ancient villages; it has been his dream since he was a child. His great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were all archaeologists, so it runs in his family.

"Are you planning to live there?" Derek mocks him, and the class laughs. Peter focuses on what he's doing, ignoring them.

"Don't you hear me? Are you going to live there?" Derek shouts at him. The class falls silent. Derek has started again; he is the class bully and the principal's child. He has never liked Peter. Peter is the most brilliant student in the class, always achieving the highest scores and winning many competitions. He is a slim boy with a fair complexion, of average height, and has a handsome face. His hawkish nose complements his cheeks, and he has curly hair. On the other hand, Derek is a sturdy, rude, and inattentive student. He often jokes with the teachers, and his father happens to be the principal.

Peter stands up from his seat and tries to make his way out, but Derek blocks him, joined by his gang (Mike, David, and Owen).

"Why do you think you're going? I'm asking you a question, and you should answer," Derek says, and Peter can feel his hot breath on his face. He can't handle Derek; he is stronger, both physically and in age. Peter is only sixteen, while Derek is eighteen.

"No, I'm just preparing myself," Peter quietly replies.

"Oh, what's with that ragged bunch of yours?" Derek says, and his gang laughs. The other students remain silent; they despise him, but what can they do?

Peter tries to pass by him again, and this time Derek punches him hard in the face. Peter's glasses fall off, and everything becomes blurry. Peter, being patient, quickly bends down to pick them up, while Derek laughs at him once again, calling him a "blind boy." His gang joins in the laughter.

Then Sandra walks in and witnesses what is going on. She runs to stop Derek and yells, "Please stop! Why must you cause trouble?" Sandra is Derek's girlfriend; Derek had pursued her and she accepted, although she is attracted to Derek's looks and not his character. Sandra frequently talks to him about stopping his bad and barbaric behavior. She has even threatened to break up with him, but Derek doesn't pay attention. All he wants from her is sex, but Sandra never gives in.

"What's your concern now, huh?" Derek retorts.

"Why? Leave him alone. He did nothing to you," Sandra defends, referring to Peter, who is now on his feet with his glasses intact.

"Oh... so he's your boyfriend now? The one you've been cheating on me with?" Derek accuses. Sandra feels irritated and says, "How could you say that?"

"Because you are interfering in something that doesn't concern you," he responds. Right then, Scott and James barge in. They are Peter's friends, informed about the situation. The class murmurs and moves to a safe corner; they know something is about to happen. Scott is Derek's ally and his weak point, being as strong and handsome as Derek. He is slightly taller than them. James is of the same stature as Peter, not as strong but stubborn.

Without saying a word, Scott throws a punch at Derek's face, causing him to stumble over a chair. Derek's gang interferes, and it turns into a group fight. Just then, the teacher walks in and restores order. The teacher looks at them and senses that something is wrong but chooses to ignore it and says, "Now, let's go."

After several hours of travel, they arrive in Greece and make their way to the temple. It is a one-hour journey by bus, passing through the woods. They have a stopover when the bus gets a flat tire.

"Please, you'll have to get off now. We have a flat tire," the driver announces, and they groan. They have no choice, and one by one, they disembark.

Peter excuses himself to urinate and goes deep into the forest. Derek and his gang see him and sneak after him. Derek is still consumed with rage from the earlier humiliation. Sandra notices them, has a bad feeling, and follows them.

While Peter is urinating, Derek forcefully pushes him against a tree. "Hey... you think I'll let you be?" he taunts as he moves closer and grabs Peter's collar. Peter is unable to fight back.

"I'm sorry," he says weakly. Peter has always been weak and fragile, bullied since childhood. Sometimes he wishes he had supernatural powers to defend himself, and now, he wishes for it once again.

Without hesitation, Derek delivers a hard slap. "Sorry? Did you think that would end it?"

Sandra witnesses this and rushes back to call Scott and the others. Scott arrives unnoticed and delivers a powerful kick to Derek, causing him to hit his back against the tree. Derek retaliates by charging towards Scott, grabbing his waist, lifting him, and throwing him to the ground. Derek stumbles on top of him, but Scott manages to overpower him and pummel his face with punches, turning it red.

Derek's group interferes, and James also joins in. Although James is not a skilled fighter, he is not as weak as Peter.

Sarah and Sandra witness all this (Sarah is Scott's girlfriend), and things are not going well. They run back to inform the teachers.

Peter stands there like a fool, just watching them. Then he hears a strange voice, listening carefully. It sounds like a growl.

Wait!" he shouted. They all froze, staring at him. "Don't you hear that sound?" he asked. They strained their ears and, after a moment, they could faintly hear it-a growling, like that of a tiger. Suddenly, something darted past them.

"What was that?" James asked, fear evident in his voice. Once again, it streaked by them, causing them to panic and retreat. As they hurried back, they ran into their two teachers, Sarah and Sandra, who observed them silently. "Let's go," Mr. Francis said, urging them forward.

Chapter 2 The beginning 2

They arrived at the temple, accompanied by a narrator who diligently chronicled their every move and the events leading up to their arrival. As their eyes fell upon a peculiar statue, its form seemed to defy convention. Though seemingly crafted from stone, it possessed an uncanny semblance of life. Each student paused, captivated by this enigmatic sight.

The narrator's voice resonated once more, filling the air with a tale of ancient lore. "Behold the king, the inaugural werewolf in human history," they proclaimed. "Once a beloved soldier of King Zeus, he commanded immense strength and an expansive army. Yet, in a fateful encounter with Hades, the lord of the underworld, he harbored ambitions of toppling the earthly order. His reckless pursuit almost wrought destruction upon the world itself. However, King Zeus, filled with righteous fury, condemned him to eternal petrification as punishment, simultaneously sealing away his legions within a chamber."

Amidst the students' awestruck silence, one brave soul ventured a skeptical remark. "But isn't this mere superstition?" they questioned. Another student, their curiosity piqued, interjected, "Is it truly possible to free this captive being?" The room buzzed with a sense of wonder and intrigue.

With a thoughtful nod, the narrator replied, "Indeed, there is a way." They went on to explain the existence of a group known as the "neutral," a lineage of archaeologists who possessed an extensive knowledge base. Their chronicles contained detailed accounts of this very statue, alongside a book that divulged the secrets to liberating the imprisoned king.

A female student, her voice tinged with skepticism, sought clarification. "But why would anyone desire to open this vault of captivity?"

The narrator sighed, their response fraught with uncertainty. "According to the ancient writings, it was prophesied that someone would eventually open the seal. Yet, the veracity of such a claim remains unknown to me."

A wave of murmurs washed over the group, as they grappled with the weight of this revelation.

"That's really creepy," said the speaker, his voice filled with unease. The stone they had stumbled upon had a disturbing aura about it, and it had left Peter with a sense of familiarity that he couldn't shake off, despite the narrator urging them to move on. Unwilling to abandon the stone, Peter's friends had stayed behind with him, their curiosity piqued.

"What are you doing?" Sarah asked, her voice tinged with concern, as Peter carefully placed his bag on the ground. Scott, intrigued by Peter's actions, chimed in, "What do you think you are doing?"

Peter, his gaze fixed on the stone, replied, "I think I've seen this stone somewhere before. I believe it's mentioned in this old, rusted book I have." He pulled out the ancient tome from his bag, its pages worn and yellowed with age.

Flipping through the book, Peter murmured, "This book has been passed down through our generation." James, always the joker, interjected, "And what's so special about your generation?"

With a hint of pride in his voice, Peter answered, "Our generation has been the keeper of Greek historical records." He paused at a particular page and exclaimed, "This is it! I found it!" Pointing at a picture in the book, he beckoned his friends to gather around. The image depicted an exact replica of the stone they had discovered, and on the adjacent page, there were inscriptions in a language they couldn't decipher.

"Indeed, it is," Scott confirmed, captivated by the enigmatic language. Beneath the cryptic text, there was an image of a door that bore an uncanny resemblance to the one standing beside them. James quickly retrieved his phone, intending to record the language and use Google to translate it.

Eagerly, they asked James, "What does it say?" Their curiosity mounting.

"The stone represents King Lycaon, the first werewolf," James began, his voice carrying a tinge of awe. "He commanded a formidable army known as the beasts, and with the aid of Lord Hades, he sought to conquer the world. However, King Zeus discovered his plan and thwarted him, turning him into a stone and sealing off his army."

Sarah, skepticism in her voice, questioned, "Do you really believe all that?"

Peter responded firmly, "I do. It was recorded."

James, engrossed in his phone's translation, continued, "But here's the most astonishing part." With a mix of excitement and trepidation, they urged him to reveal it.

"According to this text, the stone can be unleashed, released from its dormant state. All it takes is water to wash off the stone and then use that same water to cleanse the door. By doing so, the stone and the door would be unleashed. But beware, anyone who dares to perform this act must face the consequences," James relayed, his voice filled with a mixture of fascination and caution.

A silence settled over the group as they absorbed the revelation. After a few moments, James broke the silence, laughing nervously, and remarked, "That's quite creepy, but let's be honest, it's just a superstition."

Peter, determined and undeterred, said, "Regardless of whether it's a superstition or not, it holds significance to us. Let's leave this place." Sarah nodded in agreement, adding, "Yeah, it's best not to meddle with something we don't fully understand."

Scott, however, intrigued by the idea, suggested that they investigate further to determine if the legend held any truth. Without hesitation, he reached into his bag and retrieved a bottle of water.

Concerned, Peter interrupted Scott's actions and asked, "The book mentioned consequences. What do you think you're doing?"

Scott, dismissing the warnings, opened the bottle and confidently declared, "It's just a myth. I don't believe it." However, as soon as the water touched the stone and Scott began to approach the door, a deep, monstrous breathing sound echoed through the air, causing everyone to fall silent and listen intently.

"Did you hear that?" Sarah whispered, a hint of fear in her voice. Suddenly, something-or rather, someone-darted past them with alarming speed, sending a shiver down their spines. Without wasting a moment, they grabbed their belongings and fled from the scene, their hearts pounding in their chests.

Scott, caught up in the moment, yelled something to lighten the mood, unaware of the true reason they were running. Derek, who had been hiding during the commotion, emerged from his hiding spot, clutching the bottle of water tightly in his hand.

As they regrouped and caught their breath, they realized with a sinking feeling that they had left their belongings behind in their hasty escape. Sarah shook her head, her face filled with trepidation, and uttered, "What should we do? I can't go back there."

Peter, determined not to leave their possessions behind, stated firmly, "We have to retrieve our things." James chimed in, his voice tinged with unease, "But we can all agree that was incredibly unsettling, right?"

Scott, taking the lead without uttering a word, motioned for the others to follow him, ensuring they remained hidden. His brave and resolute demeanor instilled a sense of confidence in the group. Unbeknownst to them, Sandra, who had silently observed their previous encounter, stealthily trailed behind.

Meanwhile, Derek, driven by curiosity and a desire to prove or debunk the legends, continued with his task of cleaning the stone and approaching the door. As Scott caught sight of Derek's actions, he shouted, "STOP!" But it was too late-the water had already made contact with the door, and as it slowly swung open, emitting an eerie creak, a gust of powerful wind burst forth, knocking everyone off their feet and rendering them unconscious.

When they regained consciousness, they found themselves in a room enveloped in darkness. The source of the terrifying noise had manifested itself in the form of a voice that resonated through the air, declaring, "The day has come."

Overwhelmed by the ominous atmosphere, Peter and his friends exchanged anxious glances, realizing that they had unwittingly stepped into a world beyond their understanding. What awaited them on the other side of that door was a mystery, and they were now caught in its enigmatic grasp, uncertain of what would unfold next. then there comes an aftermath of the wind that finally knock them off.

Peter's eyelids felt heavy, making it a struggle to open them. As he groggily regained consciousness, he noticed a faint beeping sound nearby, indicating that he was in a bed. However, it was clear to him that this was not his familiar home environment. He attempted to lift his hand, only to find it weighed down by an unseen force. With great effort, he tried again to open his eyes, and this time, they fluttered open, though his vision remained blurred and indistinct."Peter," a voice echoed beside him.

He turned his gaze toward the source, but all he could discern was the vague outline of a person. Suddenly, a beam of light illuminated his face as someone adjusted a lamp nearby. Gradually, piece by piece, the scene before him began to come into focus. The person who had touched him spoke once more, asking, "Can you see me?" It knocked all of us off our feet."Peter struggled to comprehend the situation, his mind grappling with the disorienting information. "Are you sure I've only just woken up?"Sarah nodded, her expression serious. "Yes, Peter. You've been asleep for two weeks and one day.""What about the stone and the door?" Peter's voice trembled with a mix of concern and anticipation.James responded, "The door did open, but there was nothing inside. And the stone remained intact, untouched."Peter's heart skipped a beat as he asked the question that weighed heavily on his mind, "Where is Scott?" Relief washed over him as he awaited their response.Sarah's voice lowered, "Scott is still unconscious. derek and Sandra only regained consciousness two days ago."Peter was taken aback by the revelation that Sandra had been present during the events and had only recently awakened.****.After two weeks had passed, Peter had made a full recovery. School had resumed its usual routine, with everyone in attendance except for Scott, who remained in a comatose state.Peter found himself seated in the cafeteria, engrossed in a geography book, oblivious to his surroundings. Unbeknownst to him, Derek had quietly approached and surreptitiously added water to his food. As Peter reached for another spoonful, he looked up and noticed Derek, along with his gang, casting a shadow over him."What are you going to do now, Peter?" Derek's eyes bore into Peter's with a seething anger. Sensing trouble, Peter immediately stood up."I'm sorry," Peter stammered, trying to find a way out of the tense situation. Mike, David, and Owen encircled him, their menacing presence causing Peter to realize that no one would come to his aid. Such was the nature of their school environment.James and Sarah approached Peter as he continued to sweep the school grounds without his glasses, a notion that he found difficult to believe. Peter exclaimed, a mix of elation and confusion in his voice.Sarah joined the conversation, expressing her surprise, "That's exactly what we were going to ask. Since when did this happen?"Peter struggled to find an explanation, his mind racing with the inexplicable occurrences he had experienced. "I don't know. It happened when Derek stepped on my glasses. I can't explain it, but I felt something in my brain, an energy... and then, it happened. I really did carry him. How is any of this possible? I can feel a surge of power within me," he conveyed hastily.Sarah and James exchanged glances, their expressions reflecting a mixture of astonishment and curiosity as they attempted to unravel the enigma that surrounded Peter's newfound abilities.
