The mysterious island

Tris's POV

"Beatrice wake up !" I heard my best friend Mira calling my name . But I was too lazy to open my eyes . It was still early in the morning too.

"What do you want Mira ." I asked her opening one eye and looking at her, trying to send her a glare, but failed miserably.

"You can't live like this for the rest of your life." She sighed pulling the covers off me. Instantly the cold wind hit my body and I shivered.

" Yes I can . Let me sleep now ."

I heard shuffling downstairs and since I lived alone I knew that she wasn't here alone . I was not in the mood to see them although they are my family.

"The girls are preparing breakfast so come on." She urged me. I looked at her for a couple of minutes and saw her so persistent. I closed my eyes for a second and got up.

"Fine I'll join you after I get a quick shower ." I told her now fully awake .

" If you don't come down in ten minutes I'm calling the police ." She joked and left .

I smiled a bit . It has been a month since I smiled or laughed. Yeah that's how depressed I am. Here's my pity life : I'm Beatrice Rose Black . I lived with my parents until I was 18 and moved to my own appartement so I could join university. I got a boyfriend at the age of 19 and he was so sweet . His name was Blake. He was the perfect guy. Always sweet, always spoiling me with gifts and his love. But I always felt that something is off, until a month ago I found him cheating on me with the slut Jessica . So I broke up with him and here I am falling into misery. Pathetic I know it's just that I loved him so much. After we broke up he called me many times and I left my old appartement and found this one hoping he wouldn't find me . I even changed my phone number. My friends told me that he was as depressed as I was but I didn't care . I hated boys who cheat . Sometimes I sit alone and think about our times together. I missed him terribly and always wanted to call him back. But then the image of him and Jessica just wouldn't go away and I fall onto my bed crying, until there's no more tears. After I finished my shower I went downstairs to find my 5 best friends : Romy , Mira , Annabella (Bella ) , Joanna( Anna ) , Rebecca ( Becca) . We met at the first year of university and since then we were inseparable. We pulled pranks on students and teachers, we never stepped a foot outside our apartments without each other. But that changed because of one man. And I hate it.

" Morning girls ." I said as I entered the kitchen. All five of them tackled me in a hug . It has been a while since I saw them because I wasn't in the mood for getting out . They had the keys to my apartment but they decided to leave me alone for a while, because they knew how much I needed to be alone. How much I was wallowing in my misery. Well until today it seems.

"C-can't b-reath." They suddenly pulled away and looked at me with stupid smiles . God I missed them so much . Much more than I thought .

" Tris! Omg finally girl . We missed you." Anna screamed with a full smile on her face which made me smile a bit too. She was a beautiful girl, brunette with chocolate eyes and a great personality. "

Me too Anna but you know I was..." I said trailing off, not finding the right words to continue as a lump formed in my throat.

" We know just don't think about it for now ." Bella said giving me one last hug. Bella was one of the most caring person you'll ever meet. She loved everyone. She was a blonde with green eyes, slim figure and gorgeous. Boys would dir to date her but she rejected them saying no one is enough for her.

"So what are you doing here this early in the morning?" I eyes them and instantly added. "No offense." I laughed a bit trying to ease the tension in my chest.

"We are here to tell you that we won a trip to an island where we will spend the vacation!!" Romy said while jumping up and down .

Wait what ?

"What ? No way . I'm staying here you guys can go ." I said eating a piece of pancakes, that Mira prepared. Mira was still silent and I looked at her.

"But Tris the invitation came for you especially." She exaggerated and I knew how determined they were to take me with them.

"But I didn't want any trips ." I looked pointedly at Romy trying to prove my point, but I saw all the girls glaring at me. But still I'm not going anywhere.

"Yes you didn't but we knew about this competition and put our names and yours too . You won it ." That sounds too easy. There's something that isn't adding up and I felt an uneasy feeling creep inside of me.

"I'm going nowhere okay?!"

"Where is that island exactly."

I asked Bella as I was packing my things . She looked at me smirking, and I felt like choking her. Not really but you got my point.

" In the middle of nowhere." She said giving a dramatic sigh, while throwing to me the blue shirt she was holding in her hands.

" Great . Middle of nowhere. Awesome place ." I said sarcastically rolling my eyes. No really, can I choke her?

"Come on Tris you'll get your mind of this all ." She glared at me and I stopped what I was doing.

"I don't want to . I just want to stay here and watch Netflix while eating popcorn and crying miserably." I pouted trying to give her the puppy eyes, but she wasn't buying my act. I was doomed.

"No fucking way I'm letting you do that . Plus look at the bright side . We're going together. The six of us are going for the first time on a trip to an island. We'll have so much fun ." She squealed but I still wasn't enthralled by the fact that we are going to the middle of nowhere.

"Fine. Come on I'm done let's get our luggage loaded in the cab and then we'll head to the boat." I sighed as I finished my packing.

"Yay that's the spirit." I rolled my eyes at her childish reaction but whatever. Maybe we will have fun after all . It had been a long semester, plus I won't be afraid to go out because there won't be a certain person named Blake trying to get in my way .

"Wait. Phone, check. Charger, check. My fav panda hoodie, check. Pants and shirts, check. Pajamas, check. Toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, hairspray-" I was making sure I got everything.

"You got everything! Now come on." She took my hand and closed the suitcase. She dragged us, I mean the suitcase and I, downstairs.

"Are you ready girls ?" I rolled my eyes.

"Always ." They chirped . I wonder why I'm friend with not one or two but FIVE psychopaths.

"Did you pack everything we need ?" I asked worried about forgetting something.

"Yes we made a list and everything is packed. Don't worry Tris all you have to do is enjoy okay?" Bella told while giving me a reassuring smile.

"Okay." I smiled at her and squeezed her hand. I wasn't going to burden them with my misery while they all look so excited to go on this vacation. I'm not that kind of friend, and I don't want to be her.

"Tris come upstairs and look at the view ." We were on our way to the island and they were so excited. But me ? I was still depressed and not in the mood, despite trying to cheer up.

"I'm coming Bella ." I said rolling my eyes . I knew they will just keep calling me if I don't go up . The land was still visible to us. I haven't realized that were I lived all these years was such a beautiful place . The boat was amazing too . It gave a me a sense of relief. Maybe it wasn't a bad idea after all , and it'll be only a week away , and with my besties along with me, it will be an amazing trip for sure.

"When we'll be arriving?" I asked the pilot, already wanting to see the island.

"In about 3 hours or so." I nodded and went back to the girls. They were sitting on the roof of the boat in circles, with drinks in their hands. I smiled and took a drink too sitting next to Mira. They all cheered me and I smiled warmly at them.

"Tris did you hear what happened with Emily?" Our gossip girl, Anna said . Anna knew everything about everyone in the campus . If you want to know anything just go ask her . I don't know how she gets all these informations , she says it's her secret . We always sit and listen to her storied about people I probably never met, and will never meet.

"No Anna what happened?" Mira always wanted to know the things from Anna , but even though, she couldn't know all the things Anna knows. Told you psychopaths.

"So Emily was in a relationship with Jackson. " she paused dramatically, but we were now eager to know what's the gossip this time.

"What ??" We all asked surprised, well that was shocking.

"But they don't sit together, don't talk , hell I thought he didn't knew about her existence. " I said looking with big eyes at the girls as they nodded simultaneously.

"Yeah they wanted to keep it a secret ." She shrugged.

"Makes sense he just sat with his friends Christian and Harry .We thought he was gay." We bursted into laughter.

"That's not all . She's pregnant." We looked at her like she's crazy . No way the shy and quiet Emily would be pregnant she was too in grossed with the idea before marriage .

"Anddd he proposed to her too after he found out ." She squealed. Anna loved these kind of gossips. I do too, especially the ones with a happy ending.

"Okay that's too much." Romy said gaping at Anna .

"I didn't believe it but her best friend was so excited that she spilled the beans to me ." She laughed and we joined her too. Poor Emily, Christina always spilled her secrets. I'm sure Emily didn't tell her about Jackson and her dating or we would've known ages ago.

"Good for her then ." We all nodded happy that she got her happy ending. Unlike me . I felt tears in my eyes but I didn't want to ruin the fun so I went to the bathroom to wash my face . I washed it 3 times with cold water, trying to make the tears go away, but they just kept running. What if I over reacted with Blake? What if I should have listened to what he had to say. Maybe he had a good explanation. No Tris. Cheaters don not have good explanation. What will he say? I walk in my sleep and found myself over Jessica? She tricked me? Typical cheaters will say those things and I never want to go back to him again. He hurt me bad and I'm not going to listen to his excuses, and I certainly won't forgive for what he did. I already forgave him enough for many things that were silly to talk about, hut cheating is a whole new level. When I felt myself ready to join them again, I went back up and drank with them. We spent most of the time talking and enjoying ourselves until we heard the pilot calling us .

"10 minutes and we'll arrive at our destination."

Tris's POV

We left the boat with our luggages and once we put foot on the sand an amazing feeling overwhelmed me. A cold breeze hit my face and I smiled contently. A man in his late twenties approached us. He was tall, with dark hair and dark eyes. He had a welcoming smile on his face.

"Welcome to the WHITE PALACE HOTEL . I'm Jake your guide and I'm at your service. Dinner will be served at 7, you have 2 hours to get ready . Here's your suite keys. " He said as 3 other men helped us with our luggages.

"Thank you ." I said and we headed to our suite . We entered the suite and were amazed . Wow . The suite is amazing . It was 2 floor . We entered the living room first and in the middle they put for us snacks on the table. The room was vaste 10 people could fit in easily . Then we separated to see our rooms . The room was elegant . The bed in the middle and we could see the palm trees of the island . The bathroom was huge , and we could see the sea from the windows .

"Come on girls ." Anna called us mouth full . This girl could eat a whale and still be hungry . I laughed at her and joined her.

"I'm ready." I told her and soon was followed by Bella , Becca , Mira and Romy . "I wonder why you're not the size of a whale already." Mira said rolling her eyes. Anna gave her a glare.

"Because I'm hot." Anna replied rolling her eyes. I looked at her confused. We all shared a look and looked back at her.

"So ?" I asked her raising an eyebrow.

"So I burn the food ." She smirked. We all looked at her with disbelief and open jaws. "Stupid." Becca said and left the suite.

"What's the matter with her ?" I asked them, worried about my best friend.

"Nothing just like you she didn't want to come but we forced her anyways ." I nodded and we headed downstairs together.

"Hello girls." Jake greeted us and led us to a long table where was plenty of delicious seafood .

"Jake why is this place so empty?" I asked him after I realized that we hadn't seen anyone here even the restaurant was empty.

"It is rare for people to come here. Although it's a wonderful place , but not many hear about us . " He explained and we nodded.

"So are we the only ones here ?" Becca asked him.

"Until now yes." He shrugged.

"Until now?" I looked at him questionably.

"This evening a billionaire bachelor will come here along with his friends." We looked at each other puzzled. I didn't care actually. For now I hated boys , but the girls were excited except Romy and Becca they already have boyfriends.

"Don't act like teenagers! Plus all boys are the same ." I said filling my plate with the delicious food.

"Come on Tris one bad experience is not what defines all the men . " Anna said rolling her eyes .

"Anyways he is rich so he is obviously full of himself ." I said and continued eating.

"Not all men are alike Tris." Mira said.

"We will see then. I will not be sad if he turned out to be a gentleman. It's rare to find these kind of men." I said stuffing my mouth with more food.

"Rare but not impossible." Bella said as she started eating herself.

We spent the whole day at the pool having fun then we went and sat at the beach for a tan. The sun was shining brightly in the sky and I smiled contently. Maybe I did need a vacation like this one.

"Girls I'll admit I've had so much fun today." I said with a wide grin. Today I forgot about all my problems.

"I agree . This was so far the best day of my life." Mira squealed. We laughed and headed towards the suite.

"I will take a shower and then I will be waiting for you in the living room." They nodded and I entered the bathroom. 30 minutes later we were all done and sitting in the living room in front of the tv. In the drawer was a bunch of movies and we chose a horror movie to watch . The girl in the movie was hiding from a murderer who had an ax and wanted to kill her . And just like all the dumb girls in horror movies she ran from him and he was chasing her . We were so concentrated on the movie and scared when suddenly we heard a beeping sound . We all screamed and looked at the sound and it came from the kitchen . 2 minutes later Anna came with a bowl of popcorn in her hands .

"It's popcorn you idiots."

It was a long day but we enjoyed it a lot. I looked at my phone for any messages and found 5 messaged and 2 missed calls from Blake , 1 message from my mother .

I opened Jake's messages:

Tris please hear me out .

It has been a MONTH baby I miss you .

If you don't answer that damn phone I'll find you whatever it costs .

Tris answer me now .

If he didn't cheat on me we wouldn't be like this . We could still be together having fun at his house watching old movies together . But all of this is his fault . I will never forgive him . That look on Jessica's face told me everything.

1 message from mom : Tris honey your friends told me you went on a vacation . Have fun . Your father says hi . Take care baby. Love you so much. I replied to mom and put the phone aside .

I'll sleep a bit because Jake is supposed to wake us up tomorrow early to begin our journey in the island . Such a funny boy he's so sweet we'll be glad to have his company . I wonder why the place is empty it's an amazing place . I closed my eyes when suddenly we heard a scream . I got up immediately and ran to the window to see 6 people around someone laying on the sands .

"Mira wake up." I shouted entering her room .

"What happened ?" She jumped when she saw my frightened face.

"Come quickly." I said. We exited the room to see all the girls looking at each other with worry spread all over their faces.

"What is happening ?"

"Let's go see." I said and they nodded following downstairs.

"Amara !" I saw a maid that helped us a while ago looking terrified.

"What happened ?"

"Jake was killed and thrown in the sea ."

"WHAT ?" We all screamed.

Tris's POV

"Move ." Someone said from behind me .

"Who are you ?" I complained not looking at the hot deep voice.

"I.said.move." I looked behind me and saw the most gorgeous man on earth . A greek god . I can't describe him because it will be little comparing to what he really is . I started at him gaping . After a few seconds I cleared my throat and got up. He had a jaw as sharp as a knife, his nose is perfect, his eyes are deep brown. His muscles were visible through his shirt and I felt myself drooling over him.

"What happened to him ?" He asked .

"Killed and thrown in the sea ." I said shaking like a leaf.

"Who's this exactly ." He asked examining Jake's body.

"From the hotel staff." He nodded and got up leaving with his friends.

"So who's the hottie ." Anna asked .

"I don't know but he is so rude ." She looked at me and winked .

"This is no time for this there's a murder and a body, we need to call the police." Mira said taking her phone.

"What the fuck!" She yelled.

"What? What happened?" I asked her.

"There's no signal !" She was panicking.

"Let me try my phone " I said looking at my phone .

"Okay guys I'm done here . I'll pack my things and we'll leave." Becca said.

"Ugh great ! No signal, no boat , nothing!!"

"Where the hell is our yacht ?" We heard a guy yell next to us . There was four guys . But one stood out the most . The same rude man from a few minutes ago .

"Excuse me ." I called out . They turned to me with questioning look .

"What?" Are they all rude ? I rolled my eyes . But since we were the only tourists in this island I had to talk to them . We approached them .

"Our boat is gone too ."

"So ?" Mr rude said . I rolled my eyes . Again .

"So is your yacht. We are in the same situation." Becca said frustrated.

"Yeah and we don't have signal to call the police." Bella said showing them her phone . They all pulled their phones and looked at it .

"Shit ." Blonde boy said .

"Mason we have to do something." Blue eyed boy said to mr rude who I assume is named Mason .

"Tris !" Amara called me running towards us .

"Not now Amara we're busy here ."

"No Tris you have to see this . Come on ." We all followed her and Jake was turned so we could see his back .

"What does Y means ?" Mason asked looking at his friends .

"That's not all ! We found this letter with him ."

"I'm fucking leaving ." I said turning around .

"You're in the middle of nowhere and no boats are here how exactly are you leaving ." Mr rude smart ass aka Mason said .

"I don't care ! What ? Are we going to wait until we are all dead then?"

"No we'll figure something out ." Blonde boy said .

"Fine . I'm Tris ." I said introducing myself . One by one we introduced ourselves .

"I'm Theodor you can call me Theo ." Blonde boy said .

"I'm Jacob ."

"I'm Charlie ." Blue eyed boy said .

"And this is Mason ."

"I can introduce myself ." Charlie rolled his eyes .

"No you'll be too much rude ." Mason huffed angrily.

"Ok first let's search our rooms for something. Meet us after 10 minutes at the lobby ."

They nodded and left . I went up to my room and searched everywhere, until my eye caught something behind the door . I walked to it carefully and took the white box laying on the floor . "Fine come with me . You all stay here and wait for us ." We walked in silence until I saw Amara walking by.

"Well we have an old library in the underground. It has been years since we entered it . Maybe you will find something there . "

"Guys over here ." They came and we stood around a table .

"Come on guys let's go to bed I'm tired ." Theo said yawning. We agreed with him and went to the suite .

"Goodnight girls ." I said and went to bed . I wonder what will happen tomorrow.
