"Karen!!! Hurry up I'm late for work and so are you, we can't both be late for our first day of work." "I'm on my way Nessa" Karen yelled

"Urghh I'm gonna drive without you " I threatened as she ran quickly down the stairs.

You wanna know who I am? Well I'll tell you. I am Vanessa Morris a detective, just got a job at the FBI station and am running late for work. Great all thanks to Karen. Back in the days, every kid had this dream of being a doctor, scientist or any science related course. But I was always different, I had this dream of being a detective and fight crime because when I lost both parents no one took up the case. Well Karen is the daughter of Mrs kay a woman who was kind enough to take me in.

Enough of talk and all that let's get back to present . Karen finally got her bag a d we zoomed off.

Nessa is such a freak I hope she doesn't chop my head off before I even get to my work place.

Oops forgive my manners I didn't introduce my self. I am Karen Smith , Nessa assumed sister. I got a job at a cosmetic company as a make up personnel I hope my boss Mimi is nice.

"Thanks Nessa for dropping me off "I said as I waved her goodbye. I walked majestically into the company I felt all eyes on me I didn't care as I walked to the receptionist and asked her where the CEO'S office is and she directed me.

I knocked "come in" I heard a female voice answered . After we have discussed I was asked to do a test with a fellow colleague.

I got to the office and I was directed to my office. I sat and began arranging files when I heard a knock on the door ."come in" I said . A young guy walked in "Hi I'm MK " he said "well I'm Vanessa Morris but you can call me Nessa " I replied. Then he suddenly said Mr shawn wants to see me , so I walked with him to Mr Shawn's office.

Getting there, before I could knock he said "come in " so we both went in. "Welcome to my abode, I am shawn Donald, you might have been showed your office right?" Mr shawn said "yeah" I replied "Good well, the person beside you is Marvis Kindo your assistant "he said .

I turned to look at Mk and he winked we were asked to go back to our offices. On our way out I confronted MK "what did you say your name was again?" I asked "MK, Marvis Kindo just the way you are Nessa , Vanessa Morris" he said with a smirk on is face , a smirk I wish I could wipe off arghhh ."oh now I get, sorry" I responded.

We continued to walk down the hall , as MK waved as people as we pass by which was weird to me cause as we all know am not a people person. Argh I'm getting tired already and I haven't even started yet I just hope Karen is doing okay and her boss is not being a bitch like her previous boss who bosses her around "Karen do this ,Karen do that ,Karen u have to go for this contract " it was so annoying to watch Karen complain daily. "So you get what I mean" MK said bringing me out if my thought I didn't even hear him speak " you said what" I asked "you didn't get a word I said I knew it , so tell me who are you thinking about hmmm is it how cute the boss is ?"he asked "Tf I don't even think of him as cute I mean he is kinda old in a way " i said. He just smiled as we walked to the coffee machine and I made a cup for my self and he watched me and started ranting about how coffee tastes bitter and me trying to convince him that he should try the one karen makes. Getting to my office MK tagged along arghhh I don't think he is leaving me any time soon. "So Nessa lets know more about each other " he said " Okayyyy well as you know my name is Vanessa Morris I lost both of my parents when I was six " Ahh I can still remember that day vividly on my sixth birthday mum and dad were so excited to take me to the park so we went to the park and I was having a lot of fun ,they got me ice cream we took pictures and went on a train. Suddenly I saw a man aiming a gun at my dad before I could alert him my dad was already on the floor my mum started crying and when he was also about to shoot me my mum went in and she died immediately and I started crying for help. This story always get me in tears "so sorry Nessa you went through a lot at a young age " he said " enough talk about me let talk about you tell me about yourself ?" I asked " well I'm Mk , my parents live in California I have a little sister she's 10 years old and well I'm gay , I like boys and it's okay for you to judge me I get that alot even my parents were not cool with it " he said " no I'm not going to judge its who you are and you don't need to change that so it's okay " I said smiling at him."thanks Nessa" he said " how do you do that like how did you manage to make me emotional " he said fake glaring " part of my charm" I smirked.

There was really nothing much to do just to arrange files then I was done for the day, sid my goodbyes to MK and went home. God I'm hungry!

"Grrrgh" the alarm rings argh am waking up with a headache, how worse is this day gonna get . I sluggishly walk to the bathroom I'm going to make sure that I be the one to wait for Nessa today not the other way round. Soon I was ready and I walk down the stairs happily to see my greatest disappointment she was already eating breakfast 'great!!' "Looking for me ?"she said with a smirk "urghh Nessa !!! Any ways hope there is still extra pancake for me " I asked "yeah you can have some "she offered. I went to the kitchen and put some on plate and added syrup so yummy Nessa always know the key to my heart. Yesterday work was quit alright I didn't do much just did full make up on a lady took pictures and showed it to my boss and she found it alright. I met a few persons molly the girl that smiles alot, adrian the flirt and Barbra the bitch . Hmm I like the sound of that B for B .lol

After breakfast she dropped me off at the company and off she went. I really hope this day doesn't get worse. Again I walked into the building majestically I still can't remember who taught me how to cat walk anways thanks to whoever it was.

Karen didn't know I too had my alarm set , I woke up and made some pancakes after taking my bathe . When she came down she was shocked to see me eating breakfast. Hah I love the look on her face .

We both ate breakfast and got into the car and zoomed off .

Getting to work , I walked straight to the coffee machine I need my coffee to start the day. Whilst Beyonce's song " All the single ladies " was playing in my head . I mean that song lives rent free in my head, I mean I need to put my hand up.

As I was walking back to my office someone bumped into me spilling the coffee on my dress " tf watch were you are going " I said "so sorry Nessa I was really nervous I have been searching all over the place for you " MK said in one breadth "you know what calm down let's go get me cleaned up then you'll explain why the hell you are looking for me " i told him as i dragged him to the bathroom. We got there and I told him to hold my bag and I went In to clean up.

I got out "so tell me why the hell you are nervous " I barked at Mk "chill calm down the boss wants to see you "he said . So we went to Shawn's office . "Detective Vanessa" he called urgh can't he adapt to the name Nessa for heaven sake "yes sir" I said "well take a look at this file and pictures " he said pushing them to me.

I looked at the picture and was shocked to see dead bodies "something happened at #3 pollens drive , we found some dead bodies in the inn, everyone in there is dead except the receptionist who pretended to be dead " he said "hmm I see I replied "I want you handle the case alongside your new assistant Ezekiel Montero "he said as he looked straight into my eyes " a new assistant?" I yelled "watch your tongue woman " he said while glaring. What a jerk asking me to watch my tongue what if I don't want to i thought in my head "yes you would meet him in a while now get to work " he said smiling weirdly "what about Mk I thought you said he would be my assistant why do I need a new one I'm fine working with..." " don't worry about that MK is still your assistant but for this particular case I want you to work with the new guy from New Zealand who was transferred " he said interrupting me "yes sir "I said giving a salute in mockery as I walked out of his office with MK who didn't say a word while in the office "why didn't you say anything while in there MK ?" I asked " don't worry about me and focus on your case with the cutie assigned to you "he said lifting my face up only for me to meet a cute guy staring at me and Mk winked and left immediately. He was cute though but I in the rude mood walked past him before he could utter a word and walked right into my office slamming the door.

Minutes later someone knocked at my door "come in" I said . The guy i ignored came in "well I'm Ezekiel Montero and I'm your new assistant " he said grinning. Hmm what up with the grin " I know that already by the way I'm Vanessa Morris " I said ." Nice may I call you van?"he asked hmm Van what a weird name " no! Call me Nessa "I said "ok Van" he said with a smirk .

"Here are the pictures given to me by Mr shawn it has to do with our new case here" I said throwing the files at him . This case is really serious i just got here and a case has already started we need to find this person or persons sooner than later cause trust me the battle had just started. Ezekiel then picked it up and flipped through the pages after a while he asked what was going to be the next step and I suggested we go to the crime scene to get some evidence, then after we go home and see what we can do about it. "I think thats ok with me why don't we go now ?" He asked " sure let me grab my bag " i said .Since Ezekiel didn't have a car we had to use mine that means going on a ride with someone I barely know that's weird.

So we both walked out of my office heading to the car park " MK I'll see you tomorrow " i yelled giving him a lopsided grin as he waved and looked from me to Ezekiel hmm and I think I saw him smirking . I hope everything goes right.

We rode in silence and I was comfortably enjoying the silence " so van hope you are okay?"he asked "first of all did you have to break the silence, secondly, my name is Nessa not Van and thirdly, I'm okay not like you care "I said with enough venom to kill a snake and that shut him up and we rode in silence. Getting there, some police men and journalists were already there. So I made my way toward the area showing my ID card to the as well as Zeke. Wait why I'm I calling him Zeke . We both made our way into the building with Zeke holding his camera to take pictures. And there I go again with the Zeke name.

At a point we splitted and I went to the kitchen area to inspect, I found that there was no blood trace anywhere just weird bites on each one of them and there were looking pale like all the blood have been drain out of them. I picked up my walkie talkie " Zeke are you there?" I yelled " hmm I like that name Zeke. Yes Van I'm here" he replied . Ohh God please let him stop calling me Van. "I need you to come to the kitchen immediately " I said " roger that ...van" he said and I'm pretty sure he must be smirking right now.

In a twinkle of an eye he appeared .weird.

"So what's up ?why did you call me " he said raising his eyebrow

"Take a look at these people what do you notice ?I asked

" well... No injuries, they are obviously dead "he said

" no not that don't you see bite Mark's and aren't they looking pale?"I asked

"Yeah" he replied so I took pictures on my phone and Zeke took pictures with his camera. I really need to stop calling him Zeke.

After a while we decided to leave I offered to drop Zeke but he declined the offer so I just decided to go back to the office since its still early and Karen wouldn't be home yet.

I got to the office and I was still wondering what could have killed them or rather who , as I continued to stare at the pictures, everything seems weird the pale faces the pale body and all well the bodies have been sent for autopsy. And yes the receptionist who survived I think I and Zeke will go see her tomorrow at the hospital.

After a while a knock came at my door who must that be anyways I yelled for the person to come in and was surprised to see MK " hey I thought you must have left" i said " no I didn't so what's up with you" he said giving me a hug " I'm good just stressed out with this case and I haven't even started that's all" I said sighing

" oh I see , well it's late get up lets go"he said

" nah I don't want to "I declined

" waah now get up , ok we'll go have a cup of coffee please" he pleaded

" fine I'll just pack up"i said arranging the files

I stood up took my coat and turned off the light as we both exited the door.

On our way out , we met Zeke at the argh " I thought you went home ?" I asked

" hey van I came to get something I left behind "he said smirking I wish I could wipe that smirk off his face.

"How many time do I have to tell you my name is Nessa not 'Van' I am not a truck dummy "I yelled "but you call me Zeke so its only fair I call you Van"he said smirking as MK raised his eyebrow and said " so Nessa you already got a name for Ezekiel " can they day get any worse

" can we go MK" I said yanking his crossed arms dragging him to the exit door .

We got into my car and drove to a cafè shop not too far from the office. We both sat while a waiter came to attend to us .

"Welcome!!" He said giving us the menu list . Coffee and pancakes, coffee and sausage "well I'll go with milk coffee without sugar and pancakes "I said finally after deciding "ohh ok and you Mister?" He asked MK who has been staring at him for a while now" I'll go with sugar coffee with milk and pancakes " he said with a grin

" alright then I'll go get them just give me a minute " he said as he left immediately to get the things.

I think MK might have a crush on him but is too shy to let him know lol.

In few minutes he was back with a tray , immediately he left we started eating and making little talks . Suddenly I felt like someone was watching me so I turned and a kite just flew in through the window and landed on my cup of coffee. Gross. " something is written on it" I said as I picked the kite from the coffee.

"Very well Vanessa drop the case or risk losing your loved one's "

"We need to get out of here Nessa " MK whisper yell as he dropped some dollar bills on the table then we walked as fast as we could to the car.

I offered to drop him off before going back to my apartment. I was so tired "hey Nessa how was work " Karen said as I opened the door "well I have a new case which is a mystery anyways I wanna go sleep. I got into my room and took my bathe I was about to go to sleep when my phone rang " hey Van " a voice said which I could immediately recognise as Zeke's " how did you get my number?" I asked " don't sweat it I stole it from your file I just wanted to check on you "he said " I'm fine thanks I wanna sleep bye" I said and ended the call .
