The legend of Laura

The thunder strike hard as the rain pour down heavily,she ran as fast as her leg could carry her even though she look back most of the time her leg splash into the stagnant water in the ground.

"There she is" One of the men who is searching for her shouted as he sighted her and they all chased her heavily.

she cried hard remembering everything happening.

" Shot her" A man who seemed to be their leader yelled and an arrow was released.

It hit her leg hard and she screamed heavily,falling down into the stagnant water,she tried hard to remove it but she couldn't till they catch up with her.

" This is the end of you princess" A man in a black cloak said with a smirk on his lip.

" Kill her" He ordered in his baritone voice and the solders all shot her ,twelve arrows hit her and she spit out blood writtling in pains.

" she muttered some words and gave up a ghost".

"common Ralph let me be " Laura scream at her best friend .

" What wrong today,you are getting angry easily today,I thought I used to be on your neck without you been angry huh" Ralph pouted.

" Am sorry ,I just don't know what is going on with me this days ,and beside am trying to focus on how to get that ancient jade from the emperor tomb that the Gray mall gave us the work to get,and be prepared it brings in a lot of cash" She winked and packed her books.

" you know this is one of the reasons I love you, how much are they bent on paying" He ask as they walk out of the class.

" Well $100,000 , is it worth or not" she joked hitting him.

" oh my gosh,it worth,common let go check on the map" Ralph nudged her as they walked home.

" Only shit ,you are too sluggish " Ralph muttered and immediately carried her.

" You bastard ,let me down now" She yelled but it seems it all fall into his deaf ear.

Ralph and Laura has been together since childhood,right from the orphanage home ,they both grew up being together as best friends.

" Home sweet home" Laura screamed as she jumped on her bed .

" Stop screaming as if you left home 10 years ago " Ralph yelled at her.

"f**k you" she cursed.

" Here this is the map that is going to lead us to the tomb ,it is located at the South, but according to my research ,there are many traps fully laid there" Ralph said as he munched on his chips eating loudly.

" The ancient jade worth $ 3000000" Laura added and Ralph nodded .

" That is why they are paying us that amount" Ralph said and Laura agreed.

Ralph sat upright and press on the mouse searching fully on the emperor.

" He was born in 1664,and died at 1709" well at least he tried in earth" Ralph muttered to himself earning a chuckle from Elena has she tried taking some of Ralph chips.

"don't ,touch my baby" Ralph pouted earning a big laugh from Laura, ignoring him as she ate out of it

" He got married at the age of 17 with political alliances ,and later fall in love with his wife maid after few months after he was crowned the Emperor.

Their secret relationship was exposed and the Empress got angry,when the Empress was out of the kingdom she used the chances and sentence her to death,the Emperor went rage that he killed his Empress and he wrote down the jade must not be taken off has it was given to him by his heart beat before he killed himself" Ralph explained digging his hand into the paper bag of chips.

" That ridiculous" Laura muttered.

" good night Ralph , we leave at dawn" She added kissing his cheeks before moving out of the living room to her room.

Laura was 5 when she lost her parent,even as though as she is small she could vividly remember what happened that very night , something she couldn't put and hand on ,she tried investigating but left with no evidence.

she has live in the orphanage home till she was 22.

The two friends packed their bags and instruments and threw them inside the Jeep.

" Are you ready for the Adventure" Ralph joked as he started the car ,the car screeched loudly and speed up into the street.

" And we go through this way"Laura said as she move forward.

" let move" Ralph said placing the bag in his back.

They walked into the forest with carefulness.

" According to the map ,it shows three way to the tomb,

1) through the lake of the dead.

2)Through this forest

3) through the rough mountains, no one has ever use that as a route

" which one should we go for " Laura ask still looking at the map.

" none of them sounds easier" Ralph replied.

" If we go through the lake of the dead ,there is high possibility of us not making it, if we go through the forest we don't know what trap lay there as everywhere will be covered with fog.

" My suggestion is that we go through the mountains,even though it is hard to pass through that it is the only way" Raphael concluded and Laura nodded with a thump up.

" Yes thanks baby am always genius,don't I deserve a peck" He pouted his lips and Laura shooked her head before giving him a knock.

"Ouch,what was that for" Ralph cried in pain as he rubbed the side she knocked.

" We are at the jaws of death,stop been a baby" Laura scolded and she smiled a little bit kissing his cheeks.

"That sounds better darling, let move , he said moving forward. making Laura sighed

"That is not the way Ralph" She almost yelled at him.

" oh sorry , which way " He smiled showing his sexy white teeth.

" That won't work on me ,this way " she said going through the left side .

they walk carefully further and further making them sweat hard.

" To make money is not easy" Ralph muttered and Laura breathed out hard ,"

I think I need a break" Laura said breathing heavily sitting under an oak tree.

" Yeah sure , have water," He said handling over a bag of water .

" Thanks " She said sipping from it....

They where still resting when they heard a loud hiss coming from the tree.

" Shhh, stay still it's a python" Ralph whispered and Laura nodded a bit.

The python crawled from the tree towards them slowly hissing hungrily.

Ralph on the other hand took his long knife hidden gently as the python crawled towards Laura when it opened it mouth to swallow her ,Ralph stood up and cut off its head.

" That was closed " Laura breathed out .

" Let move out of here" Ralph said as he looked down on the big python he just killed.

They took their bag and left quickly still looking around.

" I just pray, we shouldn't met with a tiger ,I can't have another scratch of them.in my body" Ralph said and she laughed remembering when they went to collect a jewelries from the dead one.

They met with a jungle tiger ,Ralph been a built body guy fought hard with it,In the end Ralph killed it but it left a deep wound in his stomach which he survived miraculously.

" I can't have you been taking care of like a baby ,I also don't pray for that" Laura said earning a playful glare from him.

" Whatever,I know you don't love me,and here comes the mountains we have been searching for since hours" Ralph said before kneeling down he brought out an an anchors.

" put it on in your hands ,you can climb with it without falling down ,I can't carry a broken bone home" Ralph joked .

" ouch,what was that for " He shouted holding his leg as Laura step on his leg, immediately he completed his statement.

" I will stop working with you infact ,after today we are no more togethers" he said still feeling the pains on his leg.

" well that is not your first " Laura retorted with her tongue out of her mouth.

" Ancient Jade here we comes " Ralph said as they start climbing the rough mountains.

after many hours of climbing the mountain they reached the top.

" thanks goddess" Ralph muttered as she helped her sit ,

" Water,please " Laura coughed hard as she was handed the bag of water ,she gulped down hard.

" Hey don't drink it finish" Ralph said and Laura stopped still breathing heavily.

" I think that is where the tomb is located " Ralph said pointing towards a small castle seen in the middle of a fog.

" Yeah that it is " Laura said looking into the map.

" Let get going" Laura said standing up taking out her sharp knife....

They walked further a little bit and they came across a huge door...........

They pushed the large door and it fall apart.

" it easy to enter ,becareful Laura " Ralph whispered and Laura nodded putting on her torch

The two walk together and Ralph eyes where sharp like an eagle and alsmost immediately.

"watch out" He shouted pushing Laura to the floor, Spears from no where came rushing out and they dodge. soon it died down.

" what next" Laura whispered.

Ralph took a stone and threw it forward ,but nothing happened ,I think the Spears has done it work,let move to the other side" Ralph whispered back.

They walk quickly to a corner and they met with another large gate.

" Be ready for another trap" He whispered as he tried to open the door.but it was damn locked.

"I think there has to be a way around here to opened the gate" Laura said looking around the place full of web and spider.

" There" She pointed at a dragon statue with mouth opened.

" let try it out " Ralph said moving toward it carefully,he put in his Torchlight and beckoned on Laura to come over.

He checked on the dragon statue trying to press anywhere.he checked on the mouth and when he noticed it can be closed.he closed and the gate opened.

" Yes" Ralph said in excitement.

" Let go " He said and they entered.

" Look at where the emperor is laid " Laura pointed at the big tomb.

" Be careful" Ralph said and as they took a step many strings line formed everywhere ,that could cut anything it touched.

" what is this" Laura ask looking at it and wanted to touch it.

" Don't ,it dangerous look " He warned then look around ,he found a price of leave and threw it at the strings it cut it into two immediately.

" oh my God" she gasp.

"How about we cut it" Laura demanded.

" It can't be cut ,if we do we might be in danger" Ralph answered looking around and thinking of what he will do .

" Come he said going back and Laura followed him.

" Some of the strings are invisible, we have to use the night vision glasses,which means we will walk through it but avoid the strings" Ralph said looking at it.

" well isn't that too dangerous" She frowned.

" yes and no, check this" Ralph said taking a stone and roll it in the ground but the strings didn't move.

" This means we can walk through it,the strings work only when it touch things" Ralph explained.

" Common let do it" He added and they bring out the vision glasses they put in on and everywhere turn red the invisible was visible and gently they started walking through the line.

Some they bend their head some they walk over it till they are near to the tomb.

And out of eagerness,Laura nearly fall to the strings but Ralph helped her up .

" Be careful okay" He said and she smiled back.

They got to the tomb,and they smiled again .

" Let get to work" Laura said as she bring out her tools, they pushed the lid opened after many minutes , revealing the Emperor king, his body full of cloth and jewelries with a crown on his head just like he was sleeping.

" Wow,he is not rotten,I was expecting to meet a scattered bone " Ralph coughed and said due to the dust" .

" You know during the days ,they heard powerful sorceress who cast a spell on their coffin for them not to rotten ,common let get what we want" Laura said and she puts on her gloves.

" She lifted the dead Emperor hand and gently remove the jade,

" Wow,it is beautiful" Laura admired the green emerald jade.

" I love this jewelries also and they end up taking all the jewelries in the dead Emperor body " Ralph said taking it off his neck and gently they covered the lid back and they turn around to meet skeleton bones with swords in their hand .

" Ok I was not expecting this" Ralph said with his hand in his back.

" Cover your nose darling" Ralph said and bring a bottle out.

" He flit it every where and the bones melt immediately, even the strings melt ,and they rush out still covering their nose..............

" They run as fast as they can as the small castle started to collapse.

" Laura over here" Ralph said and they jumped out from a window , immediately they are out the castle collapsed living it only the dust.

" Are you okay," Ralph ask as she coughed due to the dust.

" Yes am fine ,what about you are you not hurt"she ask looking at his body.

" No am not hurt okay,you are more important to me" He said smiling widely showing his set of teeth.

"I told you that won't work on me ,let go home,She said standing up but fall down immediately.

" Ouch,I think I heard a sprain in my leg" She cried out.

" So now who is carrying who " Ralph ask and got a glare from her.

"okay okay, I will carry you but you will have to kiss me " He smirked and Laura knocked his head.

"just take me home okay." she said still massaging her leg.

" your knock hurt " he said and then carried her..

" common rest , before we go deliver the work to them" Ralph said as he helped her on the bed after a doctor who checked on her leg has left.

" Thank you Ralph" she whispered and he smiled.

" You are welcome" he said kissing her forehead before going to his own room.........
