The gorgon: medusa

Why do you want to serve me?" A beautiful lady, with long shining hair that makes whoever sees her envious of her hair and any man who sees her mesmerized. Her hazel pupils darted up and down as she looked at the woman opposite her in fear and respect. The beautiful lady was dressed in a sky blue garment and not adorned with any jewelry, bowed her head low in a subservient manner. The woman, on the other hand, was the total opposite. She is very beautiful in a way that is otherworldly and anyone who sees her will feel reverent towards her. She is elegant and charismatic.

Although she looks elegant and charismatic, anyone who sees her will cower in fear and respect. She had deep blue eyes. It felt as if all secrets were laid bare. She wore a white garment and war armor.

She looked imposing in her outfit and stern looking face, then she looked into the beautiful lady's eyes, after telling her to raise up her head. After a while, the beautiful lady looked away from the woman, her eyes darted around trying to shy away from the woman.

" To protect the people close to me, because I know, your priestesses are well respected and security is given to them and their families, so Athena permits me to serve you as my goddess." The beautiful lady hoped her answer was good enough for Athena.

There was no change in Athena's expression. " And what may I call you, child?"

The beautiful lady answered excitedly, thinking this is moving in a positive way. "Medusa, my goddess." She inspected Medusa up and down, then questioned her with a solemn voice.

" I heard you passed the requirement meant for being my priestess, that is, being a virgin."

She became more excited. " Yes my goddess, my body will be pure for you and you only my goddess."

Athena, the female warrior, continued inspecting her then her lips lifted in a small smile and she complimented her.

"You are not too bad, you are well-equipped to serve me and remember your vow to keep your body pure and pure for me alone."

Medusa almost embraced Athena due to how happy she was. She was so ecstatic, she couldn't withhold herself, she beamed brightly. Her beautiful smile shone across the temple and the people were mesmerized by her beauty, which brought a frown on Athena's face subconsciously. As the sun rose in the East, where Medusa's sleeping mat was located, it reflected on her beautiful face and peach lips, then she yawned, stood up, took care of her body, then moved to do the daily routines involved and serving Athena. She moved to her temple, dropped fruits at her altar, she lighted incense and did a couple of things. Then she sat down inside the temple ,she sang her praise from morning till night.

Then she went home to take care of herself, at home feeling elated, with the fact that she now served Athena, the female warrior, the mother of all and the wife of the almighty Zeus. She couldn't be happier, since her beloved mother and lovely sisters are well, healthy and hearty and, to top this all, they are all well secured. When she was with her family, men wanted her. Women were envious of her, she attracted a lot of unwanted attractions. But now within the temple of Athena, she felt secure, and she procured a good life for the people she loved the most in the whole world. She was satisfied with her life even when she knew she would never be able to fall in love with anyone because of her vow. She continued her service to Athena every blessed day and Athena found out she was very hard-working and was pleased with her. But people, as they will always be, could not keep their mouths shut. The other priestess commented on the beauty of Medusa and her hair, even taking it far to compare her with Athena, which brought about the conclusion that Medusa had a hair that is more beautiful than Athena's own. They praised Aphrodite for blessing Medusa with good looks. She served Athena for so many years and throughout the years she spent serving Athena, she received envious glares from other maids and priestess. Male lusted after her, but she felt rest assured since she was under Athena's protection. There was an event that happened.Medusa was busy carrying out her duties, then she overheard the temple priestess' conversation. The first temple priestess whispered quietly.

" She is so full of herself, since she is the adoration of all men, she feels she is better than us all." The second temple priestess said bitterly.

" Since she is being compared to our goddess, what do you expect?" Medusa felt a tinge of pain in her heart,

She felt bitter that there was a place she would actually be accepted by the people there, but this was taken out of her mind, then she continued serving Athena dutifully. The birds were chirping, the little animals were running all about the beautiful garden and everyone carried out their duty at the temple. It was at this moment that Medusa sank into a deep thought, She was thinking bitterly in her mind that she had been given birth to not experience any happiness throughout the days of her life.

She was deep in her thoughts when one of the priestesses came to her and delivered a box to her which every priestess got. She delivered her message that there would be a banquet involving all the gods sitting in Athena's temple and all the priestesses and temple maids would be of service to Athena. And the box contained the clothes for all the priestesses and jewelry for them. Medusa's face brightened up thinking there would be a change of scene for her, at least she would be able to feast her eyes with new things, she shouted in her mind. " At last." And she beamed brightly, which made everyone around her forget their worries and hatred towards her by looking at her smile. Unknowingly to her the effect she has on everyone that surrounds her. Till the end of the day, she was feeling alive, she was lively with everyone, regardless of how they criticized her, everything was at the back of her head. She couldn't stop beaming, she was so excited, she couldn't hold herself from expressing her joy of attending a banquet and meeting various gods and goddesses. As the sun sets, Medusa soaked herself in a bubble bath made of different scented leaves, both vanilla, strawberry and floral scents. She washed her hair with extra care. Then she adorned herself with the clothes sent to them, she adorned her neck, ears and wrist with jewelry. She and every priestess arranged themselves in a straight and orderly manner, awaiting the arrival of the high priestess.

The high priestess came forward to exhort them.

" You mustn't talk to gods and goddesses if you are not spoken to, you must give enough respect to the gods and goddesses, you must not look at them in their eyes, lest you die." She said with hostility, eyeing all the beautiful priestess, her eyes fixed on Medusa because of her bewitching beauty.

" You must not have any funny thought regarding the gods, because the adornment on some people is so shocking."

She feigned a shocked expression and a cruel smile flitted passed her lips.

Her eyes directed to Medusa alone , she snorted sharply with annoyance.

This made Medusa feel self conscious of herself, and so embarrassed that she couldn't look up.

The high priestess was looking smug, she felt satisfied at achieving what she wants to achieve.

She let out a self satisfying smile and said in a high pitched voice.

" well, well, well, ladies you can move and go about your duties."

She was very satisfied with what she did, giving Medusa, low self-esteem. As they all moved accordingly to the hall where the banquet is taking place.

The gods and goddesses all have their means of ride, which is astonishing to the priestess who have never seen anything like that before.

As they all entered the hall, their entrance was announced.

They all moved across the hall elegantly just like the royalty they are to their specific seat, each and everyone of them have their symbols carved on their seat making it easy for them to move straight to their seat.

Artemis and Aphrodite seat were kept together with Apollo, Artemis twin, the God of sun.

Each and every God and goddess got seated and ready to enjoy the banquet.

As they were well seated,the priestesses trooped in to carry out their duty and services toward Athena and where they will be kept to provide their services.

The gods and goddesses inspected all the priestesses from head to toe, but Medusa caught the attention of the gods and goddesses.

With her beauty and beautiful hair every of the gods and the goddesses threw a glance toward Aphrodite, Aphrodite looked around and understood what was going on. So she smiled mischievously

" It wasn't my doing, I mean come on, she is almost as beautiful as I myself, you all know I wouldn't allow someone to be better than I ."She said proudly.

Each and everyone of them felt nauseated, thinking could she be more narcissistic than she is.

Everyone of them were aware of Aphrodite's character and they felt she was right, being the person she is , she is capable of turning a duckling to a swan but she doesn't make them in a way that goddesses find it hard to compare themselves.

A thought appeared in their minds spontaneously and they all looked at Athena subconsciously to compare their most beautiful goddess to Medusa.

Athena noticed it immediately and she felt rage and insulted at being compared to her priestess. Then she directed a killing intent to Medusa.

Medusa unknowingly carried out her duty by serving the gods and goddesses was unaware of the peril she is inside due to her astonishing beauty and wonderful hair.

She felt danger immediately Athena's killing intent was directed to her but she couldn't put her finger to what could be dangerous to her but she kept her mind at rest because she was in the midst of gods and goddesses and not filthy men, that means no harm can come to her when she is surrounded by her gods and goddesses .

Then she continued her work and continued serving them.

Poseidon, the god of water was at one side having lewd thoughts regarding how she can be under him by the end of the banquet, his mind was no longer at the banquet.

He is thinking of how he can handle everything without disrespecting Athena but he knows it will be impossible for him or he will end up disrespecting Athena which could lead to a serious fight that can turn to war.

Medusa still not knowing their thought walked closer to them serving them, and giving her brightest smile to show how elated she is.

From a side Artemis and Aphrodite were busy observing the gods reactions to Medusa. Aphrodite nudged Artemis then whispered quietly to her with a straight forward stoic face

" The lass doesn't know her effect on our gods here."

Then she chuckled lightly. Artemis snorted

" Poseidon has taken quite well to the lass." And said annoyingly

" Is there any beautiful female Poseidon is not quite taking a liking to." She said, her face blazed with full anger but was well hidden. Aphrodite seemingly deriving joy and lot of fun from this chuckled and commented again.

" Poseidon instead of being given the god of water should be called god of Randy males."

Artemis couldn't hold her laughter and bursted out laughing with her melodious voice which drew a lot of attention to her, Aphrodite looking at the way Artemis was trembling while laughing too could not hold back her laughter. Artemis muttered over and over again. Between her ringing laughter,

" god of Randy males."

People could not understand what was happening, but for Artemis the goddess of female hunt should burst out laughing then it should be very funny. It brought a smile to everyone face . Even, Poseidon the subject of ridicule also smiled which brought about another bout of laughter from Artemis but Athena being self conscious of herself felt she was being ridiculed. Her self esteem plummeted down since she found out , she was being compared to her priestess. So she directed another wave of killing toward her. Artemis and Aphrodite continued their discussion with a compressed voice in their mind.

Artemis now replied her solemnly .

" I believe since she is under Athena , her security is granted, and she doesn't play with her priestess or women under her shelter, she holds them dear to her, so am relieved that the god of Randy male lust will remain lust forever."

Making them give each other a knowing smile and their laughter was held at Bay, so they wouldn't distract the banquet again.

Then the priestess were required to dance for the gods and goddesses but among numerous priestess, one will be chosen to take the honour dancing before them and if she pleases them so well, Athena he host of the banquet will grant her a wish each god and goddesses picked Medusa. She was overwhelmed with the attention she was getting. Then she danced with passion to the song, she danced away her sorrow and bitterness. She let go of everything she had in mind. Not knowing how mesmerized everyone was with her dance, there was an eerie silence.

By the time Medusa was through, she bowed to the gods and goddesses, they were in a trance like state , her dance made a huge impact in their mind and soul, they were still in a trance like state but they were jolted back to reality with a cough from Athena, with all what was happening and the attention Medusa was attracting made Athena green with envy. Each of the gods that were not paying attention to her before had their full attention on her.

She was feeling shy from the whole eyes on her

Her beautiful hair cascaded down her face and shoulder making her seem like an angel which serve with the most high and a body gives the trait of a succubus, a seductress. They were all taken by her.

Then, Athena stared at her for a long time and told her to make a wish, she looked at her curiously trying to guess what she would wish for.

" Make a wish my beautiful priestess."

Medusa replied with utmost respect.

" you have provided all I need to me, there is nothing I wish for anymore my goddess."

Athena was getting furious and more angry at her self righteous answer.

This Medusa reply made all the gods and goddesses look at her with adoration wishing she was serving them.

Athena almost lost control of her temper but she replied with her usual stern and stoic face.

" Do wish for something my beloved priestess."

Looking at her, thinking she was going to reject her favor again then Medusa said with happiness written all over her face.

" I wish I can continue serving you for the rest of my life."

This made everyone at the banquet speechless. They were surprised at her dedication and commitment toward Athena.

Athena who owns the priestess could not wait to get rid of her all due to jealousy and all other goddesses and goddesses envy her for her priestess.

Athena then decided to answer righteously. She smiled like Asura from hell. Her fellow deity already knew she meant no good with her smile but they were disturbed as to what the priestess did that made Athena's hatred grow for profoundly. She replied with her expressionless voice.

" Since you are so dedicated to me, I will reward you by making you the high priestess in my temple."then Athena smiled thinking this will curb the rate at which people compare her if they can't see her face or hair again.

The high priestess on one side was fuming.

The high priestess face must not be revealed to anyone but Athena. They must be sacred being but Medusa felt nothing but joy. Athena was furious that she was not getting the reaction she wanted, she was blinded by her envy and she forgot she was a goddess people looked up to.

The banquet ended quickly after she made her wish and Athena made her the high priestess. Each and every gods and goddesses left for their place because there was nothing of interest to them but the god of water insisted on staying at Athena's place for a while.

Athena realizing Poseidon intention smiled inwardly then she informed Poseidon was welcome to stay for a short period of time as he wished.

Poseidon fell into a deep thought and was suspicious of Athena who protects her female from him at all cost and does not welcome is presence at her place.

" Oi, Athena , you are receiving me well today and you are so excited to host me in your abode which is very unlike you."Poseidon smirked at her , making Athena self conscious of herself.

She replied hastily, trying to cover her intentions.

" Poseidon, I felt we have not bonded together for quite some decades and thousand of years, and I wanted to have a get together with my lovely brother."

She smiled blandly daring him to question her again if she will not break his arms and legs. She gave him a death glare with a cold smile on his lips, she looks so devilish which gave Poseidon the chills. Making Poseidon considering whether he should stay or not , but his lust for Medusa overcame his reasoning. Then he beamed at Athena nervously.

" Athena relax, am just asking a question, I didn't Know you missed me so much." He laughed and tried to embrace Athena to show his fondness for her but Athena slashed out with her sword that was always with her and said sternly with her stoic expression.

" Do not come near me possey possey." She ridiculed him with the nickname he hated most. Poseidon snorted at her and moved away to go into the room offered by Athena. Then he turned back with a mischievous smile and grinned at Athena.

" sister, let that your beauty priestess be the one to serve me today, what name does she goes by, uhmmm, Medusa." A ferocious gleam appeared in his eyes and disappeared almost immediately then he smiled again .

" Athena will you."

Every of Poseidon expression didn't go unnoticed by Athena, she smiled inwardly then she felt she had to strike out before Poseidon suspicion grows further.

Athena immediately struck out with her sword which met Poseidon trident head on.

Poseidon laughed maniacally

" You haven't changed a bit, relax, am only joking Athena." Then he smiled and sauntered off.

Athena was fuming on the other hand thinking if not because of her so- called priestess this filthy idiot will not be able to do as he wishes in her abode.

With the change in her status , Medusa's role changed, she will be the one serving Athena personally not only at the temple but also in distributing Athena's intentions to other priestess and maid, since she became the high priestess she was now more busy than ever but she was very happy that she was able to serve her role model personally.

She continued her duties toward Athena and worked as hard as she could.

The impromptu guest remained there for two weeks and watched every steps of Medusa and her every move, where she goes and he made sure he knew her abode, he knows she goes before she moves to her apartment and he was looking for a very gracious day that he can carry out his plan.

As usual Medusa not knowing Poseidon's train of thoughts continued her routine without feeling suspicious of anybody's movement because she believed she cannot be harmed under the protection of her goddess.

Meanwhile Poseidon monitored her every moves.

Then on this fateful night as usual per her routine after she has served her mistress for the night she moved to her part of the building and Athena who wishes to receive fresh air outside moved out to admire the stars.

She was opposite Medusa her high priestess house, she was actually looking at Medusa back with great disdain she noticed Poseidon who mixed so well with the night near Medusa's place but Medusa was unaware because she was a normal mortal and couldn't see whatever the gods and goddesses could see. So she was unaware of her fate.

Athena saw this and her eyes has a cold gleam to it and she smiled wickedly. Poseidon's mind was filled with Medusa's approaching figure and didn't notice Athena, as Medusa opened her door Poseidon swiftly entered without Medusa noticing. She only felt the breeze was extreme at that moment. Athena remained there.

Not long Medusa noticed Poseidon's presence in her room. Then she cupped her hands and bowed low in an act of respect toward Poseidon.

" My god, how may I be of help to you."she said trembling trying to pick out the reason for the visit by the god of water and wished it was not what she was thinking of.

Poseidon stared at her lewdly, which made Medusa shivered,

" You have a lot to do for me darling."Then he caressed her cheeks , her arm and his hands running down her body.

Medusa shifts back from his hands which made Poseidon burst out in a throaty laughter

" You can't run away from me beloved."

Medusa now understanding in details what Poseidon's intentions were, she hurriedly replied him

" My god, I already made a vow that my body belongs to my goddess alone, my god do not make me break my vow and release this lowly female." She spoke out again.

"This lowly female is undeserving of your attention my god."

Then Poseidon chuckled,

" It is this lowly female I desire, let not waste the time talking."

Then he grinned wickedly and pushed her to the bed, immediately Medusa cried out for help but her quarter was not near any priestess quarters apart from the fact that it was opposite Athena's place but unknowingly to her Athena will spare no effort to make sure she is defiled, so Medusa is at Poseidon's mercy. Even Poseidon felt this was too easy for him at Athena's temple. Outside Medusa's door opposite her quarter stood Athena smiling broadly, while hearing the cries and plea of medusa. She said cynically,

" This Lass was useful and also capable,but it is a pity I have to dispose her."she laughed coldly.

After an hour Poseidon was done with her, he finished raping her and he didn't waste any more minutes as he returned to his kingdom,a god stopped so low to rape a priestess, that was what was in Medusa's mind , Medusa was more pained to find out that the gods she replied on betrayed her trust in them. She was so bitter because she knew she could not continue being Athena's priestess because she had been defiled and dishonoured, but she Athena will revenge for her and return her honour since she is the defender of all females.

Early the next morning, she went to the altar to pay homage to Athena. Immediately Athena sniffed the air and said she perceived a stain on her, she knew Medusa was no longer pure.

Then Medusa hurriedly explained the event which happened the night before thinking Athena will revenge for her with full force. Then Athena replied her with a thunderous voice saying.

" if I didn't notice, you were not planning on talking about it, Medusa and you still decided to continue serving me with an impure body, outrageous." She said with a threatening voice , immediately Medusa fell upon her knee with her head bowed and her whole body was shaking.

" This lowly one dare not deceive my goddess, I was about to inform you about it, but I wanted to pay homage to you first before informing you my goddess, forgive your servant my goddess." Medusa continued hitting her head on the floor in the bid to apologise but Athena only looked at her coldly void of every emotion, blinded by her jealousy.

Then Athena pronounced loudly

" You Medusa, you promised to be pure for me and me alone but you didn't fulfill your vow so receive your punishment."

Then Medusa stood up pained and said

" My goddess, it was never my intention to dishonour my vow but I was forced by the god of water and I was powerless." Hoping Athena will see her reason and spare her.

Athena's face darkened,

" are you saying the gods are irresponsible, you are smearing the reputations of gods which makes your punishment non- negotiable."

She remained adamant , she protested while kneeling down

" I didn't say the gods are irresponsible but the god of water forced himself upon me."She said wiping her tears which she couldn't hold back any longer.

Athena snorted

" Shed no more crocodile ears and receive your punishment ."She replied grimly.

Medusa was weeping uncontrollably, she couldn't stop herself from weeping as she begged Athena but Athena was filled with jealousy, then she raised her hands and stretched it out toward Medusa, immediately Medusa felt waves of unbearable pains not knowing the change her body was going through but she felt her body feels foreign to her with each and every agonizing pain are body is going through.

Medusa was screaming with her whole strength because the pain was too much, she almost blacked out but wanted to stay awake to receive her punishment and move forward with her life but she felt betrayed with the act exhibited and pain caused by the gods and goddesses to her. Immediately she no longer felt pain, then she heard Athena's cold voice

" Now, go and never come back to my temple."
