Emerald was married off to Lucian who was the Alpha king of the west coast in north carolina. He was born for greatness but sadly brought up by the weakest amongst the pack. He's pack moon crescent is the biggest and most respected pack amongst the werewolf world. He was on a quest of revenge for his parents against the witches. He lost both his parents to the cold hands of death when he was little. Abigail was pregnant with Lucian was when her best friend Alicia planned the war between the witches and the pack just to get her killed.

Abigail ran of with her trusted helper Laura trailing behind her. She went into labour just as she reached the forest. She gave birth to Lucian in the middle of the woods and gave her son to Laura whom she trusted with her life. Just as Laura ran off with him Abigail was caught by her best friend whom was on the side of the witches. She sent few of her men to find Laura and kill both her and Lucian. Before the men could get any further Laura had escaped with Lucian while Abigail was taken to the battle field where she had to watch her mate get killed and burnt alive. Her best friend watched and laughed so loudly that she felt heartbroken. Someone she took as family ended up being the one to destroy her family. Abigail later passed on due to the fatigue and pain of the child bearing and also the lost of her mate leaving Lucian behind.

Emerald was a very young beautiful girl with piercing green eyes born to the parents of Damien and Felicia. Damien had a striking appearance with his piercing emerald green eyes. His appearance seemed very cold but he was very fun to be with. Damien was the gang leader of a mafia group named purified siblings. He used it as a cover up to stay in the human world.

Felicia who was Emerald's mom had a silver glistening very silky long hair which Emerald inherited. Felicia gave her daughter the nickname my precious jewel. Emerald is the only child of her parents thus making them love her unconditionally because she was a miracle. Felicia was very beautiful and curvy. She looked a lot like a model just like Emerald would say.

Damien was the witch who murdered Lucian's parents. He didn't know he had signed his own daughter's death warrant by marrying her off. Damien had really wanted to be under the coverage of the Crescent brothers which was created by Lucian thus leading him to go through with the marriage. Lucian found out that Damien was his parent's murderer and decided to seek him out after figuring out that's he's the founder of purified brothers. Damien after so long of trying his luck to speak with Lucian so many times was in shock when he got a call from Lucian asking to meet up with him. He told Felicia about the news and both dance happily with joy. The following day Damien met with Lucian at one of his restaurants. Damien was dazzled at how luxurious it was. Even he being the founder of one of the most respected mafia gang in the underworld couldn't afford to eat at such a place like that. Words couldn't describe how dazzling and breathtaking the restaurant was.

The restaurant was glistening with fine stones including jade and garnet. The materials of the wears were made of the finest material made of gold and silver. The cutleries were made of sardonyx so as the dishes and the cups. Everything was breathtakingly beautiful. Lucian wasn't a man of many words so he went straight to the point and asked why Damien has been trying to see him. Damien stated the fact that he his gang needed to be under his coverage and offered his daughter in exchange for his protection. He knew clearly that it was going to earn him more respect than he already has which was why he did what he did. Without hesitation, Lucian agreed hoping to get revenge on his daughter for what he did. He demanded that the marriage holds the following week so as to prepare Emerald mentally for what is to come. He insisted that his wife moves in wife him as soon as possible. On hearing the news about her marriage, Emerald was heartbroken. She ran to her room and shut the door while her mother trailed after her. Emerald shut the door in her mother's face crying. She couldn't believe her father could do this to her. Someone that has loved her all her life has decided to marry her off just like that without her consent. Emerald refused to talk to both her parents for the next two days leaving her mother worried. While the preparations for the wedding was ongoing Emerald was sulking about her contracted marriage. She Knew that she had less than a week to get married and leave her father's house so she decided to talk to her mother about her feelings. Her mother reassured her than Lucian is a nice guy having not met him for once in her life time. She spoke good of Luciano clearly not knowing the tragedy that is about to befall her lovely daughter Emerald. Emerald had no choice but to accept her fate and go through with the marriage so as to make her parents happy. The once happy Emerald was no more. She found happiness in whatever makes her parents happy. Emerald who used to be a very funny, jovial, playful and kind person became so cold and started zoning out every now and then. Emerald was always thinking how life would be once she married her husband to be. Luciano had prepared everything for the wedding and also gotten Emerald's wedding dress prepared. He got her different designers outfit and made sure to set up a room for her next to his bedroom. He got different types of wedding dresses just to find the one that's really suitable for her.

On the day of the wedding, Luciano was dressed in a black tailored tuxedo just to impress his woman. He has always wore a mask to prevent people from seeing his real face. Different pictures of him had been draw as to what he looks like but no has been able to get an exact picture of what he looks like. Everyone was to be dressed in black because it was a mafia wedding so clearly the theme of

wedding was black. Emerald was dressed in a really long black quince dress. She looked breathtakingly beautiful with her hair styled up in a slightly messy bun. Lucian has been restless every since he got to the venue. Heot a sniff of the most intoxicating scent ever. As soon as he smelt it his wolf perked up with interest to know who owned the scent. It was a combination of honey, earth, roses and rain. No sooner, Emerald entered the hall, the scent became stronger and Luciano who was Lucian's wolf screamed mate. Lucian scanned to hall in shock not expecting to find his mate in the day of his wedding. Immediately he scanned the hall he locked eyes with Emerald whose bright grey eyes had lost all radiance it once had only to figure out she was his mate. Damien noticed that something was wrong and hope for Lucian not to call off the wedding for it will bring shame to him. Lucian was astonished and at a loss for word because he knows that both witches and werewolves cannot be fated mates. He didn't know what the moon goddess had installed for him but he had to accept his fate. Luciano immediately fell in love with Emerald while Lucian being the one in charge only seemed to loathe her more. Her parents murdered his parents and now he will make her pay for it. Emerald got to where Lucian was standing and immediately felt a strong attraction to him. She couldn't understand why she felt such way and just brushed if off thinking it's because of how good looking Lucian was. Immediately after the wedding, Damien and Felicia came to meet their and congratulated her on her wedding followed by the guests. All along there has been this one person that scans all of Emerald's movements thinking about what Emerald to possibly have that she doesn't which made Lucian marry Emerald instead. Lucian's childhood friend Sarah came to congratulate then and offered to teach Emerald everything about Lucian. Sarah approach Lucian with a high pitched voice and hugged him tightly even giving him a peck on his cheek. Lucian didn't think much of it but Emerald was feeling embarrassed as to why her fellow woman will be at a very close proximity with her husband on her wedding day. Sarah made sure people noticed what she did then did she congratulate Emerald on her getting married. Emerald was very beautiful and portrayed a very innocent look while Sarah was nothing compared to her which was the cause of her inferiority complex. Sarah had loved Lucian right from when she was little although he was brought up by the weakest amongst the pack, she stood up for him and always protected him while growing up. Later that night, Lucian took Sarah out for sightseeing leaving Emerald all alone on their wedding night. Emerald waited for Lucian to come back and ended up falling asleep on the sofa in the sitting room. It was dark in the house so Emerald wasn't really able to find her way around. She had to conjure a fire spell which came out as a little candle of light before she was able to find her way downstairs. Emerald sat on the huge sofa waiting for Lucian to return home but she ended up zoning out in the process. Emerald wondered how her life was going to be now that she was married and how she will ever get to be happy again. Lucian return home at twelve midnight with Sarah trailing in behind him. Lucian went up straight to his room without checking up on Emerald while Sarah went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Sarah ended up dumping the whole glass on the sleep Emerald and pretended it was a mistake. She offered to help Emerald clean up because Lucian was still striding up the stairs. Immediately Lucian shut his room door, Sarah pulled Emerald's hair and threatened her to stay away from Lucian else she would rip her throat out. Emerald couldn't do anything to avoid issues with Lucian so she just allowed tears burn her eyes while she tried looked releasing her hair from Sarah's strong grip.

For weeks, nothing spectacular really happened in Lucian's mansion. Although Sarah keeps on threatening and maltreating Emerald while the latter would just keep mute and keep up with it. She had learnt to just keep her mouth shut and she might just survive this contract marriage. But deep inside her, she cursed her parents for signing her up for this.

The past few days, she was relieved that Sarah only barely showed up at the mansion anymore although she wondered why.

Lucian barely gives Emerald attention at all. He is a very busy man on his own and coupled with the fact that he hated Emerald added to their zero proximity. Emerald could only care less though, as it was beneficial to her that he ignores her so she could easily avoid any trouble with him.

A particular day, during dinner, Lucina announced to Emerald that she would be going with him to a party organized by his and other prominent mafia groups in town, including her father's. Emerald felt uncomfortable with this but she couldn't do anything to object and just nodded obediently.

Lucian didn't want to bring her with him to the party but he some how couldn't help it. Luciano, his wolf has been pestering him about it all day, making him restless. He also couldn't bring Sarah along because he wasn't feeling somehow about her. He hasn't been in speaking with her tok much for days now. Even when she suggested to

come over, he would give excuses and she would end up not coming.

Sometimes he wondered if Emerald also feels the mate bond and just ignores it or if she doesn't feel it at all. Either way, he was still in shock on how he would be fated to a witch in the first place.

He had wanted to sever the mate bond and at the same time didn't want to let her know they were mates in the first place so he didn't reject her. He had simply distant himself from her hoping the lack of proximity will do the severing. It was that night of the party that he knew it didn't. It wasn't only because his wolf had been making him restless about the party that he wanted to take Emerald. The other leaders of the other mafia groups and his friends had also been pestering him about seeing his wife. They had requested for him to bring her to one of their meetings or dealings but Lucian would always refuse. Sometimes he gets confused whether it was because he would be ashamed of her if he was trying to protect her from the brute of his job.

After he had dressed up in a nice "Mafia Lord" style that evening. A black T shirt with a shining fabric and from an expensive brand couples with a marchmatching of black jeans that others will steal for. He wanted Emerald to be done dressing. When she was done and came downstairs, he breath was taken away by the sight of her. He wolf was leaping in excitement inside of him and the honey scent he usually smells around her waffled through his nostrils. He couldn't deny her daunting beauty.

They silently went to the venue of the party. They both sat at the bacibackseatle the driver drove them. There was nothing but an awkward silence in the vehicle as both of them refused to say a word to each other.

In her mind, Emerald thought this was her chance to get to know her husband a little more. After all, they barely spent a minute together. She decided to start a conversation by asking Lucian how his week went. But the latter didn't respond to her and just shot her a glare. Emerald didn't say any other thing till they arrived at their destination. A magnificent hotel was the venue of the party and Emerald couldn't deny it's elegance and class. The indoors were even more fancy and breathtaking, Emerald had never been to plains beautiful and grand. Her father may be a rich Mafia Lord but she was sure he wasn't as near wealthy as Lasan was.

They quickly met with his friends and colleagues and most of them were elated to meet Lucian's wife. Others were even eyeing her in lustful ways. Ways Emerald was sure Lucian would have killed them for if he cared about her. But what Emerald didn't know was that Lucian was actually seething with rage as those men were gazing at her. He just doesn't want to do anything rash so as not to give Emerald the wrong impression that he liked her. The party began and Emerald got to meet the wives and spouses of the other Mafia lords. Surprisingly, she met Sarah also. She had come with one of the other Mafia lords as his partner but that was only to make Lucian jealous. She thought that if he saw her with another man, he would get back to his senses. Another reason for her presence was so she could have a chance to threaten Emerald again.

The ladies were nice to Emerald and they showed her many places in the hotel. She is even llearnedthalearnedhotel was a joint effort of three of the Mafia lords in which Lucian was included. Emerald could be less surprised. It was the first time in weeks that was happy. Later on during th,e party, the ladies decided to play a game while the men did their thing. They gathered around in a room and decided to play a game of truth or dare. Emerald was uncomfortable with this game but she played along just so she wouldn't feel left out.

The game began and of course, a lit of dirty things were done. Many secrets were spilled also and soon it got to Emerald's turn. Being so timid, she chose truth and she was asked how long she had been dating Lucian before they got married. Emerald was speechless as she and Lucian didn't even know each other up until their wedding day. But she was able to maneuver her way out of the situation by telling a lie.

The game continued and soon, it was Emerald's turn again. This time, Emerald decided to be bold and chose dare. Asassyy one amongst them dared her to go to where the men were and kiss Lucian right in front of the others. Emerald was left in a state of shock.

At first Emeraldthoughtt she must be joking. Why would she want her to kiss the man she was trying to get her away from? But Sarah wasn't in any way joking. It was a very awkward moment for Emerald but everyone else thought there was nothing wrong since it was her husband she was asked to kiss.

Emerald tried to give an excuse but of course, Sarah wasn't having it.

Everyone watched as Emerald stood up and made her way to the floor where the men were. They followed from a safe distance while she searched around for them. She found out that they were at the luxurious bar having random conversations and drinking all the way. Emerald felt tense, she could feel the gazes of all the ladies on her as she slowly made her way into the bar. Greeting everyone and approaching Lucian. The latter glared at her and was confused as to what she was doing there. He prayed within himself for her not to do anything stupid and even thought she was drunk.

Emerald got to him and sat on his lap, something that brought loud hails from the drunk men. Lucian was stunned. He wanted to shove her off him out of anger but the way her butt made contact with his laps, he felt something warm shoot up within him. His wolf purred within him and he was slightly in heaven.

Emerald was feeling more tense than ever as she glared at Sarah who was hiding with the other ladies. She slowly placed her hand on Lucian's chest and rubbed soothingly. The latter couldn't help but groan out loud in bliss. The drunk men were adding to the fun and immediately, right before everyone's eyes, Emerald planted her lips on Lucian's.

It happened so suddenly and there was silence for some seconds before the men stood up and hailed loudly. Sarah was angry all of a sudden and couldn't watch anymore, she left the scene in anger.

The kiss lingered for a while as both of them were feeling weird feelings shooting up in them. It was the increasing noise that the other men made that caused Lucian to get his senses back and push Emerald's face away. Emerald didn't waste any more time before she stood up and left the bar.

The game was over and it was getting very late so everyone decided to call it a night. Some decided they were going to go back home that night while others chose to stay in the hotel till the following morning, Lucian included.

Emerald was ushered to a room where she would spend the night. She couldn't get the feeling of Lucian's lips on hers off her mind. It was so intoxicating. She was about to pull off her dress for the night when the door was barged open and Lucian growled in.

He asked her why she had done what she did and she tried to explain things to him but he wouldn't listen. He was in a rage and wanted to punish her. Seeing that she was already undressing, he decided to tear off her dress fully, leaving her in only her underwear.

Locking the door behind, he removed his belt and began to lash her with it. He had no ounce of mercy in his eyes as he gave her stroke after stroke of his thick belt. He didn't even acknowledge her cries of plea. When he saw that she was trying to run around away from his reach, he decided to tie her down. He found a thick rope and used it to bind her hands to the bedpost tightly. He did the same thing to her legs and Emerald was tied in place. She felt exposed as she was half naked and opened to this monster before her.

After Lucian had binded her, he resumed his lashes on her. Emerald began to steam at the top of her voice, hoping someone would come to her aid but he sneered at her and told her the door and walls of the room were soundproof and all her noises were sealed in.

She was in hell, her skin was swollen and bruises became her birthmarks, tearing her entire skin all over. When Lucian was done with her, he simply left her still tied up and left the room. He gave her a warning that if she tried to leave, she would be dealt with with extra vigour. Emerald was left in ruins on the bed, pain shooting up her body at various parts. She could heal faster than humans but it wasn't as fast as werewolves could heal. She wasn't even sure how she could heal but assumed it was because of her witch
