A village nestled in the middle of lush green mountains, with fresh air and breathtaking scenery, radiated warmth and hospitality. The residents knew each other well, creating strong familial bonds.
They lived a simple life. This was where Moon, a young girl known for her natural beauty and cheerful personality, lived with her grandmother. With her long hair flowing in the wind, Moon pedaled her bicycle enthusiastically toward the beach.
06:00 AM
Moon arrived at the shore, taking a deep breath of the fresh morning air. She crouched down and played with the sand where two figures once stood. The cool, soft grains of sand slipped between her fingers. The sound of the crashing waves added to the tranquility of the chilly morning.
In the distance, a handsome man in elegant attire stood gazing at the sea. From his refined clothing and confident demeanor, it was clear he was not from this small village but from a big city.
As he turned to leave, his eyes landed on Moon, who was immersed in playing with the sand. He paused for a moment, captivated by the sight of the young girl who looked so free and peaceful. Without realizing it, a faint smile appeared on his lips. With a swift motion, he took out his phone and secretly snapped a photo of her.
"Young Master, everything is ready. They will soon demolish all the buildings in this village," a voice interrupted his thoughts. It was his secretary.
"Finish it today. I don't like wasting time," he commanded firmly. His once gentle smile faded into a serious expression.
However, as he started to walk away, his gaze lingered on Moon once more. A small smile reappeared before he finally left the scene.
At the Village Entrance
Two massive construction machines stood tall at the village's edge, ready to level every building in sight. The villagers, from the elderly to the young, gathered with unwavering determination to resist the workers and officers sent from the city.
At the center of the crowd, a distinguished yet arrogant man represented the corporation determined to seize their land.
Tension filled the village that morning. The people, deeply attached to their land, fought with all their might to stop the demolition.
"Even if we die, we won't leave!" a villager shouted passionately, his voice filled with emotion and defiance.
"I am Manager Kim. Let me make this clear-this land no longer belongs to you. If you cooperate, the company will offer compensation. You can move anywhere you like," he said, as if this were just another business deal.
An elderly man, who had lived in the village for most of his life, stepped forward, his face burning with anger.
"Why do you rich people always oppress the weak? I am 75 years old. I have lived here since I was ten. Even in death, I will not leave!" his voice trembled, but his resolve remained strong.
Manager Kim, infamous for his ruthless nature, smirked.
"That's your problem, old man. I'm still kind enough to offer you compensation. You'd better take the money and leave. If you resist, you'll get nothing," he said coldly, his tone laced with menace.
"We will sue you!" another villager yelled, trying to show courage despite knowing they were powerless.
"Go ahead! I'll hire ten lawyers to handle it. And what do you have to fight against us?" Manager Kim retorted with a smug smile, convinced of his inevitable victory.
Enraged, the elderly man stepped forward, his fist raised, ready to strike. But before he could land a punch, Manager Kim swiftly caught his wrist and shoved him, causing the old man to stumble to the ground.
"Grandfather!" the villagers cried out in panic, rushing to help him.
Manager Kim dusted off his hands as if ridding himself of filth, then pulled a handkerchief from his pocket.
"Pathetic," he sneered as he wiped his hands, further igniting the villagers' fury. They clenched their fists in anger, their frustration boiling over.
Moon's Fury
Moon, who had just arrived at the scene, witnessed everything firsthand. Without a second thought, she rushed toward Manager Kim.
"Slap!"
The sharp sound of her palm striking his face echoed in the air, stunning everyone into silence.
Manager Kim's cheek turned red from the force of the slap. He glared at Moon, but instead of anger, a dangerous, enigmatic smile crept onto his lips.
Their eyes locked in an intense stare, an unspoken battle of wills raging between them.
"How dare you bully an old man? Have you no shame?" Moon spat, her voice trembling with fury.
Manager Kim's subordinates moved in to defend their boss, but he raised a hand, halting them.
With a piercing gaze and a faint smirk, he observed Moon, intrigued by her boldness.
"Interesting," he muttered, loud enough for Moon and a few others to hear.
Moon stood her ground, her eyes blazing with anger. She lifted her hand again, ready to strike the arrogant man before her once more.
"Just because you're rich, you think you can oppress us? Even an old man isn't spared from your cruelty. Don't you have any shame?" she shouted, her voice shaking with emotion.
Before her hand could land another blow, a strong grip caught her wrist.
Manager Kim tightened his hold, his eyes darkening with authority.
"Defying us means facing the consequences," he warned coldly, his grip tightening. "Unless... you choose to obey me."
Moon glared at him, then forcefully yanked her hand away.
"Obey you? Dream on!" she snapped, her voice dripping with disdain.
Manager Kim smirked, then suddenly pulled Moon closer. Their faces were mere inches apart. His breath ghosted against her ear as he whispered,
"You'd better cooperate... unless you want your entire village to suffer."
The atmosphere grew heavier, thick with fear. Moon met his gaze head-on, her heart pounding. She knew this wasn't an empty threat. But surrendering was not an option.
The crowd murmured anxiously, all eyes on them.
Would Moon give in? Or would she stand her ground against Manager Kim's overwhelming power?
The man gazed at Moon with a gentle smile, but there was a mysterious glint in his eyes. "What's your name, little girl?" he asked, his voice calm yet carrying a hidden threat.
Moon straightened her posture, meeting his gaze without fear. "My name is Moon. Please stop all of this. Don't hurt the villagers," she said firmly.
The man's smile widened as he nodded slowly. "Moon, a beautiful name. The lovely moon. I like it. I can release them, but on one condition-you must obey my command!"
Moon swallowed hard, trying to remain calm. "What do you want?" she asked, her voice steadier than she felt inside.
The man stepped closer, lowering his head until he was near her ear. "Remember my name well! Christian Kim, a pure Korean descendant raised in New York. We will meet again," he whispered with a meaningful smile before turning and walking away.
Christian Kim then left, abandoning Moon and the villagers in confusion. His men followed behind him, and within moments, they had all vanished, leaving the village in an eerie silence filled with tension.
An elderly woman, one of the villagers, approached Moon with a questioning expression. "Moon, what did he say? Why did they leave just like that?" she asked worriedly.
Moon shook her head, trying to process what had just happened. "He made a request, but he didn't say what he wanted," she replied, her eyes still fixed on the direction where Christian had disappeared.
A middle-aged man, one of the village elders, nodded firmly. "Moon, whatever he asks for, don't agree to it!" he warned, his voice filled with both authority and concern.
Moon gave a small smile, though she felt immense pressure inside. "Yes, Uncle, Aunt," she answered, trying to reassure them. But deep inside, she knew this was only the beginning of something much bigger and more dangerous.
Meanwhile, at the luxurious Kim family mansion, Christian sat in the living room with his father-a man with an authoritative presence-and his older brother, a sharp-eyed, ambitious man.
"Aren't you supposed to acquire that village land? Why didn't you succeed? Did they stop you?" Christian's older brother asked, his tone accusatory.
Christian smirked, twirling his car keys in his hand. "I changed my mind. Something else caught my interest," he answered casually.
His father frowned, dissatisfied with the response. "What made you change your mind?" he demanded.
Christian stood up from the couch, looking at his family with unwavering confidence. "Don't worry! I'll take care of it," he declared before heading up the stairs, leaving behind an air of mystery that silenced his family.
"Father, is Christian causing trouble again?" asked his brother.
"Calvin, keep an eye on your brother!" Jorge, their father, ordered.
"Understood!" Calvin responded obediently.
Moon walked out of her house in high spirits, happily pedaling her bicycle down the quiet road. Her mind was filled with plans for the day's shopping.
However, her excitement quickly faded when two sharply dressed men approached her. "Miss!" one of them called respectfully.
Moon eyed them warily. "Why are you here? Are you still trying to drive us out?" she questioned.
One of the men answered calmly, "Miss, the young master wishes to meet you."
Moments later, Moon was brought to a wooden house nestled at the foot of a mountain. There, Christian awaited her arrival, his usual smile on his lips. Though his emotions were never easy to read, his smile always seemed to mask whatever he truly felt inside.
Moon eyed Christian cautiously. "What do you want?" she asked bluntly.
Christian, still smiling, gestured. "No need to rush. Sit down first."
Moon hesitated before finally sitting across from Christian.
Christian started the conversation in a light tone. "I want to make my request."
Moon narrowed her eyes at him. "On what basis are you making a request? The village land doesn't belong to you," she stated firmly.
Christian chuckled lightly before responding, "We were planning to buy it at a high price. But now, I've changed my mind. I can let the village keep the land... as long as you grant my wish."
Moon became even more alert. "What wish?" she asked coldly.
Christian leaned in, gazing at her with an unreadable expression. "I want..." He paused for a moment, building tension. Then, he whispered in her ear, "I want you to be my woman."
The request shocked Moon, rendering her speechless. She could hardly believe what she had just heard.
Christian continued, "Be mine, and they can stay here for as long as they want."
Moon looked at him in disbelief. "Crazy! What a ridiculous request from a man. That's funny!" she scoffed, trying to mask her fear.
Christian wasn't bothered by her reaction. "Funny? I'm serious," he said, his face turning more serious. "I can do whatever I want. And I always get what I want-including you," he added with a sinister smile.
"I would rather die than become your woman!" Moon declared firmly.
Christian smirked, full of confidence. "There's no use resisting me," he said casually.
Moon stepped closer, her sharp eyes locked onto his. "Listen carefully, Christian Kim. That land has been home to the villagers for decades. It's where they spend their old age. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can act however you please!"
Christian gazed at Moon with a calm yet intense expression. "I won't evict them... unless you agree to take their place," he said, his stare unyielding.
Before long, Moon began to feel dizzy, her vision blurring. Before she could grasp what was happening, her body weakened, and she collapsed, her head resting on the table in front of her.
Christian looked down at the unconscious girl with a victorious expression.
He approached her, gently touching her face, then smiled. "I told you-I always get what I want," he murmured softly yet with absolute certainty. A sinister smirk played on his lips, as if he had planned this all along.
A few hours later...
Moon slowly regained consciousness, her vision blurry as she tried to make sense of her surroundings. The room was unfamiliar-its walls were painted in soft colors, yet something about it made her feel uneasy. She jolted upright, scanning her surroundings anxiously until her eyes met Christian's. He was sitting at the edge of the sofa, watching her with a smile.
"What did you do to me?" Moon asked, her voice laced with confusion and dizziness as she tried to recall the last thing she remembered.
Christian simply smiled, sitting comfortably with his legs crossed. "I just wanted to see your face while you slept. It was quite delightful, you know," he said casually, as if what he had done was perfectly normal.
Moon scowled. "You're insane!" she snapped, quickly getting out of bed to put some distance between them.
Christian remained unbothered by her reaction. He stood up and approached her, his gaze turning serious. "Consider my proposal," he said firmly. "Two days. I want your answer in two days."
Moon exhaled sharply, trying to steady herself. "I will never agree to your demand," she stated defiantly.
Christian let out a small chuckle, a smirk playing on his lips. "Oh? Don't you want to change your life? With me, your life will be different. No more living in that village," he teased, his tone carrying an underlying threat.
Moon shook her head. "I have no interest in becoming your woman, you womanizer," she shot back, attempting to leave the room. But before she could take another step, Christian grabbed her arm with a firm grip. Their eyes locked, and she could see the cold glint in his gaze.
"I have no patience, Moon. Just two days," Christian's voice was cold and threatening. "If you still refuse to give me an answer by then, I'll have your village wiped out. Do you want to see your grandmother homeless, along with the rest of the villagers?"
Moon clenched her fists, fury burning in her eyes. "Don't you dare touch my grandmother!" she spat.
Christian's smirk widened slightly, his gaze filled with certainty. "Of course. I only want you," he whispered as he leaned in closer, his voice crawling into her ear. "You, in exchange for your village's land. You won't lose anything, Moon. Just stay with me... and keep me entertained."
Moon tensed, feeling the weight of his intimidation, but she refused to let her fear show. "You're a bastard," she muttered under her breath, wrenching her arm free from his grip before storming out of the room.
Christian watched her retreating figure with a cold stare. "Just wait and see," he murmured to himself. "I know you'll surrender to me eventually. Rejecting me? I don't take rejection lightly. The more you resist, the tighter I'll bind you to me." A chilling smile formed on his lips, his determination unwavering.
Two Days Later
The village was filled with joy and excitement. The residents had gathered at one of the houses for a feast, their laughter and chatter blending with the lively atmosphere. Moon's grandmother was among them, chatting with others as they prepared food and drinks.
"Grandma Moon, where is Moon? Why hasn't she arrived yet?" one of the villagers asked curiously.
Grandma Moon smiled warmly. "That child is tidying up the house. She always loves cleanliness," she replied.
"Will she come?" another asked with curiosity.
Grandma Moon nodded. "Moon will come, but probably a little late. It's fine, we can eat and chat while waiting," she assured them.
"Let's eat and drink!" one of the villagers cheered, raising his glass. The others followed suit, toasting with enthusiasm. Music played loudly, accompanied by laughter and dancing as they celebrated.
Meanwhile, at home, Moon was taking a bath. Cool water from the village's showerhead cascaded over her body, refreshing and soothing her. Unbeknownst to her, the door to her house creaked open slowly. A silent, uninvited guest had entered-Christian.
He moved quietly, surveying the surroundings to ensure all the villagers were still occupied with the festivities.
Christian made his way to Moon's room, his sharp ears picking up the sound of running water from the bathroom. A sly smirk curved his lips. Stepping closer, he noticed the bathroom door wasn't fully closed.
Inside, Moon was oblivious to his presence, enjoying the cooling sensation of water against her skin, letting herself relax in the moment.
Christian stood at the door, his sharp eyes peering through the slight gap. His smirk widened as he took in the sight of her bare body, his amusement growing.
"It seems like tonight... I should indulge myself," he muttered to himself, satisfaction evident in his voice.
The air grew thick with tension, his domineering presence looming over the scene.
