The Wife Diaries

Author: : STARMOON
Genre: Romance
Elisa Johnson and Martin Jimenes married two years ago. Martin has always thought Elisa married him by design, so he always gives Elisa the cold shoulder. They live apart during these two years. It can be said some kind of stagnant but peaceful. It is Sharon Johnson's return that broke this peace, but it also vitalizes their marriage ...

Chapter 1 My Sister Has Agreed to Divorce

In a VIP ward of South City Central Hospital, an 80-kilogram woman lay unconscious on the sickbed.

Three hours later, the woman's fingers moved, her eyelids trembled, and her eyes gradually opened.

"Elisa, you're awake." A man guarding at the sickbed shouted excitedly, "This is great."

Cordy Hoffman was Elisa Johnson's high school classmate and a doctor in the emergency department of this hospital. Three days ago, when he was receiving patients, he encountered Elisa who had a car accident. Then he spared no effort to treat her and stayed with her out of his working hours.

Upon hearing the voice, Elisa slowly turned her head and saw a man in the near distance. She thought for quite a while before muttering, "C... Cordy... Hoffman?"

"Mm, it's me." Cordy replied happily and continued, "Don't move, I'll do a checkup for you."

Following his words, he fulfilled his duty as a doctor by examining Elisa's body.

In the beginning, she didn't quite get him. On second thought, she faintly remembered that Cordy graduated from a medical school. Was he a doctor now?

Wait, how did she remember this? Did she regain her memories?

Shocked by the idea, Elisa was anxious to test it. Closing her eyes, she started recalling the past.

As many people and events crossed her mind, she was sure that all of her memories had returned.

Just then, Cordy finished the checkup and explained to Elisa, "Your condition is fine. I'll do a brain scan for you later. Now your problem lies mainly in your head."

"And your left arm is injured, move with caution," Cordy added.

"Mm." Responded Elisa who looked much better now. Then she added, "Thank you, Cordy."

"No problem." Cordy replied simply. It was the work of destiny that the two classmates met again. In fact, he had been asking around the classmate circle about Elisa but got no news, and the encounter was unexpected.

He found it strange about her appearance because her beauty was no more. When he looked at her closely, however, she looked chubby and kind of cute. Her features were still delicate and not ugly at all.

"I'll arrange a brain scan right away, have a rest. If you need anything, press the alarm bell at the bedside. The nurse will come right away." Said Cordy after a brief chat with her.

"Mm." Elisa nodded her head.

After Cordy left, Elisa relaxed a little and planned to close her eyes for a rest when a familiar voice came over.

"Should that bitch stay in such a luxurious ward!"

Elisa recognized the voice. It was Sharon Johnson, her half-sister. Before she could think much about it, the door of the ward was kicked open with a bang, and then Sharon got in menacingly.

In a red sheath dress, she became even more furious to see Elisa. While walking toward the sickbed, she shouted, "Elisa, I'm telling you, you must sign the divorce paper with Martin today."

"You're just a big fat fool yet want to be Martin's wife forever? Dream on, if I didn't run away from the wedding for an incident, how could you take my place and marry Martin. Wake up, the person Martin loves has always been me."

After finishing her speech, Sharon was still not satisfied and worried that Elisa would continue to pester Martin. Taking out her cell phone, she produced a processed photo in bed and showed it to the woman lying on the sickbed.

"Take a look at the intimate photo of Martin and me." Sharon took back her phone after making sure that Elisa saw it and deliberately placed the other hand on her abdomen, "Moreover, I'm already pregnant with Martin's seed for six weeks."

"Elisa, in a word, Martin is mine, and you're not allowed to pester him anymore. Hurry up, sign the divorce..." Elisa suddenly cut her short.

"I'll sign it." Sick of her nonsense, Elisa said briskly.

Because of her memory loss, she used to regard Martin Jimenes as the meaning of her life and love him fanatically. When Martin asked for a divorce, she resolutely opposed and glued to him. In retrospect, she found herself foolish.

Martin didn't love her at all and had been treating her poorly. In the past two years of their married life, he had never given her a second look. Was such a man worthy of her obsession?

No, she decided to sever all ties with him.

... Sharon was stunned by her prompt consent.

She then came to her senses and knew this was what she wanted. Losing no time, she handed two copies of the divorce paper and a pen to Elisa for fear of her regret and urged, "Sign it, Martin has done his part."

Elisa stretched out her right arm and swiftly signed her name on the agreement.

Sharon took the agreement and reviewed it. After confirming the result, she slightly curled up her mouth.

Since her goal was attained, she got ready to leave but didn't forget to warn Elisa, "Stay away from Martin, or I'll teach you a lesson."

Elisa ignored her sister and closed her eyes for a moment of peace.

Sharon walked out of the ward, immediately called Martin, and claimed hurriedly when the phone was picked up, "Martin, my sister has agreed to divorce."

At that moment, the man on the other end was surprised, "She agreed?"

"Yes, Elisa has signed the divorce paper." Said Sharon happily.

Without another word, the man stood in front of a floor-to-ceiling window, looked out of the window, frowned slightly, and gripped the phone more tightly.

Wild with joy, Sharon continued, "Martin, I'm going to Jimenes Group for you. I miss you so much."

... The man still didn't say anything.

...

Chapter 2 The CEO's Position Has Been Vacant

Accompanied by Cordy, Elisa had a brain scan, and the result was perfectly normal. Cordy then analyzed the report and concluded, "Elisa, you will be hospitalized for another week. When your arm is healed, you're free to go."

"Mm." Elisa nodded, followed Cordy's arrangement, and continued, "I need to use the bathroom."

"Mm, be careful."

Elisa didn't really want to use the bathroom but stood in front of a mirror and checked her appearance.

She was disgusted by the fat body in the mirror. There were layers of fat under her chin and rings of flesh around her waist, and her legs were massive. Was this really her? Where were her slender neck and shoulders?

She couldn't believe her eyes. On second thought, she knew it was caused by her former mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Each day they gave her a bowl of tremella soup, claiming it could enhance beauty. In fact, it was a kind of medicine that brought her more weight.

Heh, she would remember their 'kindness'.

When she looked into the mirror again, she gradually accepted the fact. Her eyes became resolute as she got a clear goal.

Because of her amnesia, she lived like a fool for two years. By sheer luck, her memories returned, and she was determined to turn over a new leaf.

She would settle the old and new scores with those who hurt her and reclaim what was rightfully hers.

"Cordy, transfer me to the nutrition department one week later. I need to lose weight." Elisa came out of the bathroom and requested.

Her new life started with the change in her appearance.

"Mm, sure, I studied nutrition and can help you with that." Cordy listened to her idea, thought from the medical perspective, and replied.

"My goal is to lose my weight to 45 kilograms in three months." Elisa nodded firmly.

Following her words, she walked to the sickbed, picked up her handbag, took out a bank card, and handed it to Cordy, "Help me find the best nurse. Here are 10 million yuan to cover all the expenses."

As far as she could remember, the card was given by Martin before the car accident. According to the man, it was compensation for the divorce. Back then, she didn't take it and rejected the divorce. Martin stuffed the card into her handbag and turned away.

Sad with his departure, she planned to find Martin in Jimenes Group and beg him. Unexpectedly, she had a car accident midway.

Now she gave up the begging part. As for the money, she accepted it as a reward for her two-year devotion. From now on, they were strangers.

"Okay, I'll arrange it now."

...

Three months later, Elisa recovered and weighed 44.5 kilograms. Her delicate features, slender neck, slim shoulders, slender waist, and bird legs all came back.

"Elisa, you look stunning." Impressed by her new appearance, Cordy sighed with emotions.

"Thank you." Elisa said politely, "Cordy, I'll leave the hospital tomorrow."

With her stunning appearance back, she was ready for a new life and decided to pick up her career that stopped for over two years.

"Okay, I'll go through the discharge procedures for you."

"Mm."

In the evening, Elisa sat on the sickbed, took out her cell phone, and dialed a number that was imprinted in her memory.

The call was answered, and the gentle voice of a woman came over, "Hello."

"Mia?" Elisa called out the name of the other party.

"Eli, is that you?" After a moment of daze, Mia Barker immediately recognized the familiar voice and asked.

"Mm, it's me." Elisa was touched by the old appellation.

"Ah, Eli, I finally found you." Mia said excitedly and asked, "Where have you been in the past two years? I got no news from you and have a lot to talk with you."

"How is my company doing?" Instead of explaining, Elisa asked.

"Steadily profitable." Mia replied, "Elite Group was listed two years ago and has been on the steady fast track in the past two years. Now we're covering more and more sectors and ranking among the top five companies around the globe. In South City, we're on par with Jimenes Group as a consortium."

When the Jimenes family was mentioned, Elisa was completely indifferent and rejoiced about her divorce from Martin.

"Mm, keep up the good work." Replied Elisa.

"Okay." Mia responded and asked, "Eli, when will you come back to manage the company? The CEO's position has been vacant."

"The day after tomorrow, I'll come back for a look." Elisa said. She would be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, go back to her house, and visit the company the day after.

"Great, the elite members and I will be waiting for you." Mia replied happily and suddenly remembered something, "By the way, Eli, there's a business party in South City tomorrow night. Many big shots will be there, would you like to join in? We've got invitations."

Elisa thought about it and suddenly remembered a person.

It had been more than two years. Maybe she should try her luck to find him.

"Yes, send me the time and venue." Elisa replied.

"Will do, I'll also send you the electronic invitation letter."

"Mm."

...

South Lake Villa was a three-story resort owned by Martin. At the moment, the man was sitting in front of a desk, looking at the divorce paper, and lost in deep thought.

Suddenly, the crisp ringtone of his cell phone came out, snapping him out of a daze. Collecting himself, he took the phone for a look and answered the call.

"Martin, I'm missing you." Sharon's coquettish voice came over, "When are we getting married?"

"You've already divorced Elisa and haven't married me. I'm so sad." Sharon said with feigned grievances.

"Just wait for some time." Martin spoke patiently despite his annoyance.

Sharon was his childhood sweetheart and his love. Two years ago, he planned to marry her, but she disappeared suddenly. Under the pressure of his family, he had to marry Elisa instead.

Now that she came back, he decided to divorce Elisa and marry her. However, after spending some time with her, he noticed her dramatic change and decided to put off the wedding after thorough consideration.

"Oh... okay." Knowing that Martin liked submissive women, Sharon agreed with feigned obedience despite her dissatisfaction.

"It's late and time to sleep." Irritated, he cut the conversation short.

"Mm, Martin, rest early, sleep tight."

He hummed and hung up the phone.

After putting the phone away, he pondered for a while, took the phone again, and dialed the number of his main man, Victor Howard.

"You free tomorrow? Care for a drink?" Asked Martin as soon as the line was through.

"Yeah, there happens to be a party tomorrow night. I'll meet with some partners. Wanna join us?" Victor would like to meet him at the party.

Chapter 3 Your Business is My Business

Martin knew about the party. In the morning, his assistant had briefed him about it. The host already sent him an invitation letter, and he hadn't answered. Since Victor suggested, he believed it was an opportunity tomorrow night, "Mm, I'll see you tomorrow night."

...

The following day, Elisa was discharged from the hospital. After saying goodbye to Cordy, she replaced her expired and lost cards in the bank before going back to her downtown house.

The house was bought two years ago when Elisa just came back from abroad. She didn't plan to live in Johnson's house and thus bought the deluxe house. A nanny was hired to clean it regularly so that she could move in any time she liked.

Unexpectedly, on the first night of her return, she was hit by a car after meeting her father and stepmother in Johnson's house. Then she lost her memories and married into the Jimenes family.

So far, she knew nothing about the car or the driver, but it was fine. She would figure it out, and they would pay.

Elisa unlocked the door via the password. The nanny was both surprised and happy with the return of the hostess. She had lunch at home and shopped for clothes and cosmetics in the afternoon.

At 7 p.m., Elisa went out of the door in a blue slim-cut dress and delicate makeup. In the afternoon, she asked Mia to have her car sent from a 4S store. Driving the car, she headed to the business party.

She did registration at the venue and walked into the party garden. Before she could look for her target man, an uproar came from the near distance.

Following the noise, Elisa looked over and instantly spotted Martin in a crowd. Given his strong aura, awful air, and high status, he was always worshipped just like this moment.

Before her eyes, Martin nodded his greetings to those all around. Many women tried to approach him, but Elisa didn't feel a thing as if they were a bunch of strangers. Then she looked away, turned around, and searched for her target in other crowds.

Martin greeted a few partners and completely ignored those women around him. Before he could take a glance at Victor in the near distance, he was suddenly attracted by a figure.

When the woman turned her head sideways, he was stunned by her side face.

Noticing Martin's look, Victor walked out of the crowd, stood beside him, and asked in a low voice, "What are you looking at?"

With the voice, Martin snapped back his gaze and collected himself, "Nothing."

At that moment, Martin was confused. The figure looked like Elisa. It was her side face, but she was not that slim. Was it an illusion?

Unable to figure it out, he had to ignore it and looked at Victor, "Let's go and find a place for a few drinks."

"Mm, let's go over there." Following his words, Victor and Martin headed to a quiet corner of the party venue.

...

Elisa looked through the crowd for a long time before finding her target.

"Mr. Lyons." Elisa approached the man and called out gently.

Steve Lyons just talked about the stock market with a few business elites. Hearing the voice, he turned around and looked over.

He was shocked to see Elisa. After a long daze, he asked excitedly, "Elisa... Johnson? Is that really you?"

He hadn't received any news from the little beauty for more than two years. Through his connections, he looked for her for a long time but failed. To his surprise, she reemerged herself.

The girl now looked even prettier and more charming. Her beautiful, clean eyes were still so attractive.

"You tell me." Elisa asked back deliberately and slightly curled up her mouth to smile at Steve.

Steve was carried away by her smile and believed in the fact. It was Elisa. His little beauty was back.

"It's really you, my little beauty." Steve said happily, and his demeanor became more frivolous. Slovenly he continued, "Come on, give me a hug."

Elisa knew about Steve's fopperies a long time ago and decided to fulfill his wish. After all, they hadn't met for over two years. A hug was reasonable.

They stretched out for a hug, and Elisa pushed him away seconds later. Not satisfied, Steve looked at her affectionately.

"When did you come back to South City?" Steve asked with concern.

"Recently." Elisa replied, not intending to correct Steve who mistakenly believed that she had been abroad the whole time. After all, in the past two years, she had been suffering from amnesia and living in pretty much isolation. She would rather not have come back.

"Are you free? Shall we talk?" Elisa asked.

"Very free." All obedient, Steve looked around, "Come to the grove with me."

Elisa knew that he was talking nonsense again. Instead of picking up the conversation, she nodded her head and followed him towards a quiet garden.

After the two sat down on the stools by the flower bed, Elisa put on a serious look and gazed at the man, "Steve, I wonder if I could use your help."

"We don't need such formalities between us. Your business is my business, and I'll definitely go all out." Steve then asked, "Go ahead, what is it?"

"I want to get Gorilla Group back but know nothing about its current condition." Said Elisa.
