Albert Jones, a successful businessman, stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his tie for what felt like the hundredth time. He was getting ready for the biggest day of his life - his wedding to Kylee Everest. As he smoothed out his tuxedo, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Despite knowing Kylee for five years, he felt a sense of excitement and nervousness.
He remembered meeting Kylee at a business conference, where it was love at first sight. She was a beautiful, confident, and brilliant model. He had been smitten ever since.
Her confidence, beauty, and intelligence had captivated him instantly. From that moment, he knew she was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
Soon, the wedding music echoed through the grand hall.
The guests rose to their feet.
Albert stood proudly at the altar as the bride, dressed in an elegant white gown with a long veil covering her face, slowly walked toward him.
His lips curved into a smile.
At last...
She had become his wife.
The ceremony ended with the officiant's final words.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife."
As applause filled the hall, Albert reached for the bride's veil.
The moment he lifted it, his smile disappeared.
His expression froze.
The woman standing before him...
Wasn't Kylee.
Albert felt a spark of confusion. "What is going on here?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing. He just hope she is fine where ever she is?
The veil was lifted, revealing Aurora Williams,
a young aspiring model he had seen around Kylee's agency a few times.
For a few seconds, the entire hall fell silent.
Albert's eyes widened in horror. "What is going on here?" he thundered, his face red with rage. "Where is Kylee?"
Aurora trembled, taking a step back. "I...I was told to come here and stand in for the bride."
Albert's eyes flashed with anger. "Who told you to do this?" he repeated, his voice rising.
Aurora hesitated, looking nervous. "I...I don't know. I was just given instructions."
Albert's face darkened. "You're going to tell me everything," he growled, his fists clenched. "My men will make sure of it."
He nodded to his security team, who moved to surround Aurora. "Hold her down until I get back," Albert snarled. "I need to find Kylee and get to the bottom of this."
Aurora struggled against the men, but they held her firm. "Let me go!" she cried, her voice shaking. "I didn't do anything!"
Albert turned and stormed out of the room, leaving Aurora trapped and frightened. "I'll be back," he snarled over his shoulder. "And when I am, you'll tell me everything."
As Albert searched for Kylee, he couldn't shake off the feeling of betrayal and anger. Who was behind this? And why? "Where is Kylee?".
Meanwhile, Aurora was left to face the consequences of her actions. "Please," she begged the security team. "You have to believe me. I didn't know what was going on.
"What am I going to do now?" She thought.
But they just held her firm, waiting for Albert's return
Albert stormed out of the ceremony venue, determined to find Kylee and get to the bottom of the situation. He arrived at Kylee's house, hoping to find her and demand answers.
As he entered the house, he called out for Kylee, but there was no response. He searched the rooms, but she was nowhere to be found.
Just as he was about to give up, he saw Kylee's maid, Maria, coming out of the kitchen.
"Maria, where is Kylee?" Albert demanded.
Maria looked nervous. "I'm sorry, Mr. Jones. Kylee left for Paris yesterday."
Albert's eyes widened in shock. "Paris? Why?"
Maria hesitated. "She said something about pursuing her modeling career. She wanted to take her career to the next level."
A bitter laugh escaped Albert.
She left?
Without telling him?
The day before their wedding?
Albert felt a wave of anger and betrayal wash over him. "Did she say anything else?"
Maria shook her head. "No, sir. Just that she would be in touch soon."
Albert's mind was racing. Why had Kylee left without telling him? And why had she arranged for Aurora to stand in for her at the ceremony?
He turned to Maria. "Do you know anything about Aurora Williams?"
Maria looked confused. "Aurora? I don't know anyone by that name, sir."
Albert's eyes narrowed. "Find out everything you can about Aurora Williams. I want to know who she is and why Kylee chose her to stand in for her."
Maria nodded and scurried off to make some calls.
Albert was left standing alone in Kylee's house, feeling angry, betrayed, and confused. What had Kylee gotten herself into? And why had she left him without a word?
He walked over to the window and looked out, trying to make sense of everything. He thought about their relationship, their plans for the future, and their wedding day. It all seemed like a lie now.
As he stood there, he heard Maria come back into the room.
"Mr. Jones, I found something," she said, looking nervous.
Albert turned to her. "What is it?"
Maria hesitated. "Aurora Williams is a model, sir. She's been working with Kylee's agency for a few months now."
Albert's eyes narrowed. "What else?"
Maria took a deep breath. "Kylee and Aurora have been in contact for a while now. They've been planning something, but I don't know what."
Albert's mind was racing. What had Kylee and Aurora planned? And why had they kept it a secret from him? What is going on? How could she do this to me?
He turned to Maria. "I want to know everything about Aurora Williams. Get me her file, her contacts, everything."
Maria nodded and scurried off to get the information.
Albert was left standing alone, feeling angry and betrayed. He knew he had to get to the bottom of this, no matter what it took.
Albert's phone rang just as he stepped out of Kylee's house.
Seeing his mother's name on the screen, he answered immediately.
"Mom."
"Albert, promise me you won't do anything reckless" his mother said, her voice firm.
He closed his eyes and let out a slow breath.
"Mom, after everything that's happened today, how do you expect me to stay calm?"
"I know you are angry. You need to think this through, not act on emotions. Bring Aurora home and sort this out calmly."
Albert hesitated, feeling his anger rise. "Mom, I need to take care of this. I can't just sit back and do nothing."
"I understand that, dear," his mother said. "But you need to think about the consequences of your actions. You can't just rush in and expect everything to work out. You need a plan."
Albert sighed, feeling frustrated. "Mom, I know what I'm doing."
"Albert, I'm your mother," she said. "I know you better than anyone. And I know you're not thinking clearly right now. You're hurt and angry, and that's clouding your judgment. Just take a step back and think about what you're doing."
Albert rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. He knew his mother was right. He wasn't thinking clearly. He was acting on emotions, and that was never a good idea.
"Okay, Mom," he said finally. "I'll bring Aurora home and sort this out calmly. I promise."
"Good, dear," his mother said. "I know you'll do the right thing. And Albert?"
"Yes?"
"I never liked Kylee," his mother said. "She was never good enough for you. I'm glad this happened, in a way. It's a wake-up call for you."
Albert's eyes widened in surprise. "You never liked Kylee? Why didn't you say anything?"
"I didn't want to interfere, dear," his mother said. "But now that this has happened, I think it's time you reevaluate your relationship with Kylee. She's not the right girl for you."
Albert's mind was racing. He had never thought about his mother's feelings towards Kylee. And now that he thought about it, he realized that his mother had always been a bit distant towards Kylee.
"Mom, I'll think about it," Albert said finally. "But I need to take care of this situation first."
"Albert, promise me you'll be calm and rational," his mother said. "No drastic measures, okay?"
Albert nodded, even though his mother couldn't see him. "I promise, Mom. I'll bring Aurora home and sort this out.
Albert hung up the phone and took a deep breath. He knew his mother was right. He needed to calm down and think this through.
He walked over to the window and looked out, trying to clear his head. He thought about Kylee and their relationship. He thought about Aurora and the situation they were in.
As he stood there, he realized that he had been blind to the signs. Kylee had been distant lately, and he had brushed it off as stress. But now he saw that it was more than that. She had been planning this all along.
He felt a wave of anger wash over him, but he pushed it down. He needed to stay calm and think this through. Butr why do she do this to me? Why can't she left me know?
He turned away from the window and walked over to the door. He needed to go to Aurora and talk to her. He needed to know what was going on and why did she had agreed to this.
I have always loved her and take care of her. As Albert walked towards the door, he couldn't help but wonder why kylee bad done this to him. Why had she involved Aurora?
Albert's eyes narrowed at Aurora. "Why did you do this?" he growled. "Why did you agree to pretend to be Kylee?"
Aurora trembled, looking scared. "P-please don't hurt me," she stuttered.
Albert's face twisted in anger. "I'm not going to hurt you... yet," he said. "But you need to tell me the truth. Why did you do this?"
Aurora took a deep breath. "I-I was in a tough spot," she said. "I'm a model, just like Kylee. We're friends. But I'm not as popular as she is. And my mother... she has kidney problems. She needs surgery, but I don't have the money."
Albert's expression softened slightly. "Go on," he said.
Aurora hesitated. "Kylee offered to help me. She said she would take care of my mother's surgery if I did this for her. I didn't know what to do... I was desperate."
Albert's eyes widened in shock. "Kylee offered to help you?" he repeated. "Why would she do that?"
Aurora shrugged. "I don't know. But she said she would take care of everything if I just pretended to be her for a day. I didn't know what she had planned... I swear."
Albert's mind was racing. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Kylee had manipulated Aurora, used her desperation to get what she wanted. But something didn't add up.
"Why would Kylee do this?" Albert asked, his voice skeptical. "She's never been the type to help others without a reason."
Aurora looked down, fidgeting with her hands. "I-I don't know," she said. "Maybe she felt sorry for me."
Albert raised an eyebrow. "Kylee doesn't feel sorry for anyone," he said. "There's something more to this story. Something you're not telling me."
Aurora looked up, her eyes wide with fear. "I-I'm telling the truth," she said. "I swear."
Albert's eyes narrowed. He wasn't sure if he believed her. There was something in her story that didn't quite add up. He needed to get to the bottom of this.
Albert's eyes narrowed at Aurora. "I'm going to take you home with me," he said. "Because of my reputation, we need to maintain the illusion that we're married. But let me make one thing clear: you are not my wife. You are not to act like my wife. You are simply a woman who is pretending to be my wife for the sake of appearances."
Aurora nodded, looking relieved. "I understand," she said. "Thank you for taking me in, Albert. I promise I won't cause any trouble."
Albert's eyes bore into hers. "I'm not doing this for you," he said. "I'm doing this for myself. I need to maintain a certain image, and having a wife is part of that. But don't think for a second that this means I trust you. I don't. And I'll be watching you closely."
Aurora swallowed hard, looking nervous. "I understand," she said. "I'll do whatever you say."
Albert nodded. "Good. Let's get one thing straight: we will not be sharing a bedroom. You will have your own room, and you will stay out of mine. We will not be displaying any public affection. We will not be holding hands, or kissing, or anything like that. We will be pretending to be married, but that's it."
Aurora nodded again, looking scared. "Okay," she said. "I understand."
Albert's eyes narrowed. "And don't even think about trying to take advantage of this situation," he said. "I have security cameras all over my house, and I will be watching your every move. If you try to steal from me, or sabotage me in any way, there will be consequences."
Aurora looked horrified. "I wouldn't do that," she said. "I promise."
Albert raised an eyebrow. "We'll see about that," he said. "Now let's go."
As they walked to the car, Aurora looked up at him. "What about Kylee?" she asked.
Albert's expression turned cold. "Don't worry about Kylee," he said. "I'll deal with her later. She's not your concern."
Aurora nodded, looking scared. "Okay," she said.
Albert opened the car door for her. "Get in," he said.
As they drove away, Aurora looked out the window, looking nervous. Albert couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking. Was she scared of him? Or was she scared of what Kylee would do when she found out?
As they drove in silence, Albert kept his eyes on the road, his mind consumed by the mess his life had become.
He was legally married to a woman he barely knew-a woman he didn't trust. Every time he thought about Kylee, anger and betrayal surged through him. How could she disappear on their wedding day and leave him to deal with the consequences?
After a while, they arrived at the Jones mansion.
The luxurious estate stood proudly behind tall iron gates, surrounded by perfectly trimmed gardens, a sparkling fountain, and a breathtaking swimming pool.
Aurora stared in amazement as the car came to a stop.
"This place is beautiful," she whispered.
Albert glanced at her briefly before getting out of the car.
"You'll get used to it," he said indifferently.
He led her inside the mansion. The spacious living room was elegantly furnished with expensive artwork, crystal chandeliers, and marble floors.
Without another word, he led her upstairs and stopped in front of a guest room.
"This will be your room."
Aurora stepped inside and looked around. The room was larger than her entire apartment. It had a king-sized bed, a walk-in closet, and a private bathroom.
"It's beautiful," she said sincerely.
Albert remained expressionless.
"Don't get too comfortable. This arrangement is temporary. The moment I find a way to end this marriage, you'll leave."
Aurora lowered her head.
"I understand."
Albert turned to leave but paused at the doorway.
"If Kylee contacts you, I want to know immediately."
"I will."
"And tomorrow, we'll discuss the rules of this arrangement."
Aurora nodded.
"Yes."
Albert looked at her one last time.
"Remember what I told you. Don't give me a reason to regret bringing you here."
With that, he walked away.
As Albert headed toward his study, countless thoughts raced through his mind.
Was Aurora another victim of Kylee's scheme?
Or was she hiding the truth?
Either way, he intended to find out.
Aurora had barely finished arranging her clothes when someone knocked gently on the door.
"Come in," she said.
The door opened, and a middle-aged woman wearing a neat maid's uniform walked in with a warm smile.
"Good evening, ma'am," she said politely. "My name is Mrs. Helen. I've worked for the Jones family for over twenty years."
Aurora smiled politely.
"It's nice to meet you."
Mrs. Helen smiled back.
"Mr. Albert asked me to make sure you're comfortable. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me."
She pointed toward the intercom beside the bed.
"You can use this anytime."
"Thank you."
Mrs. Helen nodded warmly.
"Dinner will be served at seven o'clock. Mr. Albert requested that you join him in the dining room."
"I'll be there."
After Mrs. Helen left, Aurora sat quietly on the edge of the bed.
Everything felt like a dream.
Just this morning, she had been worrying about how to save her mother's life.
Now...
She was living in the mansion of Albert Jones, one of the country's most powerful CEOs, as his wife.
The thought made her chest tighten.
"This wasn't supposed to happen," she whispered to herself.
She took a deep breath and finished unpacking.
Whatever happened next, she had no choice but to face it.
As evening fell, Aurora made her way downstairs for dinner.
The dining table was long enough to seat twenty people, but only one place had been set.
She looked around.
"Where's Mr. Albert?" she asked.
Mrs. Helen offered an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. Mr. Albert is still working in his study. He won't be joining you tonight."
Aurora forced a smile.
"I understand."
She ate quietly by herself.
The mansion was beautiful...
But it felt painfully lonely.
As she finished eating, thoughts of her mother filled her heart.
She wondered if the surgery had been scheduled.
She wondered if her mother was worried about her.
Unable to stay indoors any longer, Aurora stepped outside into the garden.
The cool evening breeze brushed against her face as she slowly walked along the stone pathway.
For the first time that day, she allowed herself to breathe.
Little did she know...
Her peaceful walk was about to change everything.
