Olivia Smith is Clifford college most popular girl, she is the envy of the girls and a sight for a sore eyes of the guys. she is from a average family. her parent run a restaurant in town. she is beautiful, alluring, intelligent, bold, confident, sexy, gracious and a nerd. she has everyone attention when she walks. Her big glass and back pack always look funny thou.

Miller Jill is a jerk, hot guy with a athletic build body, he look like he is in his twenties even in his seventeenth. He love playing around and teasing. He has been Olivia Smith best friend since grade one.

Who doesn't like Miller Hill, everyone does except from Charlotte Davies who is always cold, she is a nerd, and also a competition to Olivia Smith but was not the case because of her lonely life.

But like they say, don't judge a book by its cover, Behind her solitude attitude, Charlotte Davies was broken, her family issue was affecting her

Charlotte is from a wealthy family, her dad is a politician and her late mum was a lawyer. Her step mum is always over controlling and her elder brother always argue with her. He do tell her she is a gold digger.

" you won't tell me what to do, when to do it. I hate you and I hope you stay on your lane"

" you should be glad I marry your dad earlier enough after your mum death, what if I had marry him and have him divorce your mum, maybe she will have die of depression and not whatever you think kill her "

" You are such a b!tch that do not deserve to live" he yelled at her

This argument kept on whenever my elder brother Chris need anything and dad tell him to go through his step mum who he loathe a lot.

She always find everything Miller Hill do irritating, she love to be alone and think, she is never ready for a competition, she use studies to engage herself not to be depressed.

CHAPTER ONE

Olivia POV

Olivia Smith woke up to the sound of the alarm, she open her eyes slowly, her eyes lid was heavy, she did not sleep properly throughout the night. She was preparing for the new semester. she went to open her window like a normal routine to let see how beautiful the day is.

" good morning beautiful world," she said

she looked into the mirror and scrunched up her bob nose before walking towards the shower to take her bath singing with her angelic voice perfect by ed Sheeran.

this have been their favorite song.

"their" yes. I forget to mention Olivia has a best friend since elementary school Miller Hill.

she dresses up in her white and blue uniform, she apply so lipgloss.

"Always beautiful," she said to herself in front of the mirror before dashing out.

"Mum am off to school,"

" Without breakfast? Really"

" Little will do"

She eats some slice of bread with coffee

"Bye mum" she peeked at her mum and left

Clifford college

Olivia was beside her locker when miller came to trickle her

"stop that, can't you grow for once"

" look who is talking" she rolled her eyeball

" did u slept well," miller asks her

" yeah, I bit I guess"

"I have seen it in your eyes already, Mrs. book worm" Miller tease her

"How was your summer holiday" she changed the topic

"cool, I was able to do something I love doing the most".

I forget to mention that apart from joking around, Miller loves art a lot. no one has ever beat him in art even though he is just an average student who did not dream or even think of improving.

"hmmm... I need to go now so I won't be late for class dear"

"see you in class"

"don't come late to class, remember is Mr. Marson's class".

Mr. Mason our teacher, he loves to wear dungarees, a woolly jersey, and smile from ear to ear. I knew early door he was an asshole, or 'arsehole' as he corrected in his squeaky diction. if u come late to the class he will make you stand till the end of the class.

" I hope you all enjoy your summer break?"

"yes sir" we replied happily

"well, remember your exam is around the corner, you need to study more to bring out the best in you."

"Okay sir"

"I will reshuffle the class today, new sitting arrangement will be made" he said glimmering.

"We love the way we seat," Diane said that pouting

" well, is not just my decision"

"Miller, switch seats with Harry"

"Charlotte, seat on the empty seat beside Miller"

she walk slowly to the space, she hate the fact she is sitting with a jerk.

"I hope he mind his business" she whispered to herself.

After he finish shuffling the class, he give a satisfying look. I was happy I still remain in my seat, I so much love the front seat.

"That will be all for now," he said and leave the class.

I was searching for my pen when Miller show up in front of me

"Hey, miss," he said smirking

"I need to study now don't disturb me," I said that knowing that won't get to him

"In a noisy class?"

"Am going to the library since is free period, I need to cover up some stuff"

he lean closer to me

"I can't believe am sitting beside that cold girl," he said and I smirk

"I will frustrate her till she change seat unless I will die of boredom with her," he said

" let the poor girl breath, please. Can't you be serious with your life a little"

" I wish you are beside me," he said smiling.

"I will prefer sitting on the floor than choose to seat beside you," I said and he frown

"am I that bad"

"I won't be able to concentrate in class because you will keep disturbing me," I said that cheering him up

"what is studying all about, I don't study until exam time and am still always above average, you can be like that"

"I want more than average, and you can do better too," I said smirking

"I need to go now, so I can cover up a lot you can go and talk with the boys," I said pointing toward Raymond the class talkative, and ran out of the class

"I will make sure I scold you when you are back" he yelled.

Charlotte POV

I was tensed when the teacher asks me to sit beside the crazy jerk that think everything in life is a joke.

I was unpacking my things in the locker after the teacher left when he walked up to me

"hey, Charlotte," he said smirking

I ignore him to avoid an unnecessary argument.

"At least you answer did you know whether I was sent to give you something," he said

"as you can see am busy, and please can you just act like am invisible here pls?" I said in a tense tone

"like the Invisible or what. I can see you, a girl trying to unpack her things" he said teasingly.

I hissed and ignore him

"Why are you so cold? life is not like that" he said

Is he trying to motivate me right now? I getting frustrated already.

"Can you please leave me alone" I yelled and the whole class faces me as if I killed someone. I bury my face in my hand.

"dude" leave the poor girl alone she is not in the mood Austin said

"As she ever be in mood" Diane mumbled.

I pick up my things angrily and went to the library. That has been the only thing I do used to ease myself whenever am angry.

I see no reason to smile after my mom's death, The case was buried because it involve the 'Antonio' family one of the richest family. No lawyer want to take up the case when they hear their name. My dad collected some bribe from the family and marry his secretary just a month after my mum's burial.

Home is hell, I live like a nobody even in my father house because the house is controlled by my suppose step mum.

I live like I don't exist in the house to avoid her trouble.

Olivia POV

After class I was waiting a cab when Miller walk up to me

"I thought you have gone home" he said shaking me

"I had some stuff to sort out" he said

"stuff like, disturbing someone right?" I ask pestering him

"Not really"

"I think am liking someone" he said in a rambling tone. I gasp for breath a little

" like? who?" I asked

"the cold girl" he said smirking

"Charlotte?" I ask eagerly

" no way I can never allow my best friend to date such a person. you will die of boredom" I tease him

" I think someone is jealous" he tease me

"Jealous of who, no matter what you will still run to me. we are met to be best friend for ever" I shrugged

"who is deceiving you, thou we are best friend forever. I can't forget when you were little and you do cry over every little things. Remember the day your cookies fell down" I continue teasing him

"I will show you the stuff am made off today" he said and I run away. He kept on running after me till Charlotte shows up. Immediately after he saw Charlotte coming he stay calm.

Miller POV

After the clash I have with Charlotte today, I started having some strange feeling toward her, when she came back to class and I notice my heart skip a beat. I could not concentrate in class my focus was on her. Her golden hair like a sun that fell in loose waves past her shoulder, her brown eyes and her light skin that stand up to her toes, she look so gorgeous as if am just seeing her for the first time. I like her against all obstacle that could be.

This is my first crushing on someone, it has always been me and Olivia.

"what did you like about her?" Olivia ask in a puzzle tone

"everything, everything" I replied eagerly

"well, if she break your heart don't run to me" I said and I smirk

"have not approach her yet" I said

"I don't care" I said teasingly

" that because you have nobody to date your fucking ass" I replied teasing her back

"I don't need a boyfriend, I need to concentrate on my life, I have a problem already" I said smirking and he giggled

"problem?" he asked in a tense tone

"yes, don't you know you are problematic, I can't deal with you and a boyfriend issue, I want us to go on a date, don't wear this, I need you to style your hair this way, and so on."

"really, let me tell you this you just have to be yourself in a relationship, both of you have a say in your relationship, you have to be loved and comfortable in any relationship" he motivate me

"look at who will have here, a motivational speaker, really? this is the best word you have spoken since the very first day I met you" I tease

He gave me a lit knock on my head and I frown

"your Uber is here"

"see you tomorrow" I wave my hand and I enter my cab.

Charlotte POV

School was a somehow today because of that annoying jerk sitting beside me now.

I enter our into my house gate, I overheard some argument going so I rushed in to find out what it is, assuming is that witch again

"am going to the military, am not ready to become a greed soul like you" my brother yelled at my dad

"am not ready to spend a dine if you are not going to Harvard University," he said angrily

"what have you even do for me since mum death, betraying your oath by marrying that b!tch only a month after mum burial or taking bribe from the suspect,"

"I will send you out of my house if you don't watch your mouth, you this ungrateful soul". he yelled

" that enough, enough" I yelled

Have been standing here for over five minutes and no one seems to notice me,

"can I just have some break of all this,"

"then talk to your brother" he shrugged.

I walk down to my room and. close the door immediately I enter, there is nothing I can tell them, my brother loathe dad a lot after mum's death. After a stressful day I can just come home and relax like other kids do it has always been hell.

I put on my earpiece and listen to music to cool myself down, not knowing when I slept off.

Olivia POV

I went to my room after dinner to take some nap before my reading time when I heard a knock

"the door is open you can come in" I said tiredly

my mum enter my room looking at me as if I did something bad

"mum" I call wondering what could be wrong

"do you have a boyfriend?" I cough out gasping for breath

"don't play smart here just answer my question"

"no,I don't and where did you hear that from?" I said snappily

"is not something to hide, if you have one feel free to bring him home, let us know him" she said in a tense voice

" mum, I don't need a boyfriend now, I need to study hard and I don't want distraction and us? who" I snap back

"okay dear, am just worried, I don't want you to hide anything from me, your dad and I are concerned, I don't want any body that will destroy you, am not saying you can't have a boyfriend, but let us know him"

"okay mum, I will make you and dad proud I promise"

"that my angel, goodnight"

"goodnight mum" I smirk

I watch her till she leave

"what the hell, are they insulating I should have a boyfriend or what? I need to clear my head first" I roll on the bed and stand up again

"don't loose yourself, be yourself okay!" I whispered to myself

"Maybe they are only concern am hidden him"

My parent know me and Miller were friends since childhood and never have a problem with that, he do spend the night here sometimes mostly during exam or test period for him to study, I don't have any other friends because I do see how friend stab themselves at their back.

I couldn't read, everything mum said kept popping into my head till I fall asleep.
