The drizzling rain hit the panes of the window as Clarissa looked out of the window her mind solely on what had happened that morning.
She knew her parents so well, especially her father.
He'd stop at nothing until she mastered all the skills her annoying trainer had been giving to her.
She growled.
Grabbing the curtains and tearing them into shreds as she gasped in horror.
This is the third time she's doing this in one week.
And she knew her mom would take no shit from her.
Looking around,she opened the window and looked down.
Several guards lined up the walls of the house with their guns loaded and claws ready to tear off anything at all.
She gave up the idea of jumping down and running to.......
God knows where.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I must confess she isn't taking the classes seriously".
" Gigi is doing just fine." Malcolm said, standing in front of the alpha king and his wife. His voice firm as he stood rigidly in front of the regal couple.
Gigi, adopted by the alpha pack when she was just a child, had been a full human until a life-saving bite transformed her into a lycan.She was a full human until she got bitten,to save her from dying.
Uriel nodded slowly, his sharp jawline tightening as he turned to look at Felicia.
Her expression was unreadable, but her nostrils flared ever so slightly, a subtle sign of her displeasure at the constant comparisons between Gigi and their biological daughter Clarissa.
He knew she hated the fact that everyone compared Gigi to Clarissa.
"Felicia's lips thinned into a taut line as anger simmered beneath her cool exterior. "Malcolm, you may leave," Uriel stated, his deep voice reverberating through the study.
Malcolm bowed respectfully, his footsteps echoing against the hardwood floor as he exited, leaving the alpha pair alone.
As the door clicked shut, Felicia whirled to face her husband, her eyes blazing with a fierceness that belied her delicate features. "Comparing an actual Lycan to a minor coyote?" she demanded, her tone laced with skepticism and a silent challenge for him to deny her accusation.
Uriel sighed, running a calloused hand through his salt-and-pepper hair. He had expected this reaction, this clash of wills that had become all too familiar.
"If we don't compare them, she's not going to be serious," he reasoned, his voice low and persuasive. "She will keep taking everything for granted."
His gaze hardened as he leaned forward, bracing his elbows on the chair's carved armrests.
"She's still living her youthful exuberance, and that's hardly what we need. The blood suckers are multiplying every day, and it's threatening to us."
A muscle twitched in his jaw as his words took on a sharper edge. "We both know they have no heart! They do not care if it's a newborn, a youth, or an adult, they would just feast on them and get things over with."
He paused, running his hands through his hair.
He turned to look at the door then back at her.
"She needs to know her place, she just need to. She needs to be prepared. To be able to face the challenges which comes with handling a whole clan. Do you understand?" He questioned, sending a look of both hope and concern to Felicia.
She sighed before nodding.
"Yes,I do." She replied and walked over to the door. "When is the next leaders meeting?" She asked.
"Probably next week, I'll ask Yolanda to check." Uriel stated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gigi quickly walked away the moment she noticed her mother coming out from her father's office.
She'd heard everything that went on inside.
She knew they loved her.
But the love they had for Clarissa was more intoxicating and real compared to hers.
She knew this but her heart always finds it hard to understand it all.
She's older than Clarissa by two years.
Yet they favored Clarissa more than they did to her.
Her heart felt heavy as she struggled to breath hard.
She'd fought so hard to belong here.
To make sure everyone embraces her.
She made sure she was good in her academics.
In sports.
Almost in everything.
She fought to be where she was.
And yet she was still struggling for recognition in the face of her parents.
She walked into her bedroom,banged the door and felt the frame rattle.
She'd heard the words clearly.
Heard her father's voice loud and clear.
"She needs to know her place. Needs to be prepared to face the challenges which comes with handling a whole clan,do you understand?"
She tried as much as she could to blink the tears away. Was it her fault? She was trying so hard to be perfect and still there was nothing that seemed satisfiable enough for them. For how long did she have to keep proving herself?
Gigi was older than Clarissa by two years, yet her parents favored her sister, their natural-born child.
The weight of their expectations weighed upon her shoulders like a suffocating burden.
For years she fought so hard, just to belong, to earn their respect and trust. She excelled in everything, academics, sports...even pushing herself to her limits in every aspect of her life desperate to prove her worth.
And yet, no matter how hard the tried, she still found herself facing the harsh reality of invisibility. She craved recognition more than anything.
Tears stung her eyes as she banged through the door of her bedroom, the frame rattling violently from the force of her entry. Her father's words echoed in her mind, a constant refrain that cut deeper with each repetition.
Nothing would stop her from contending for the throne.......

Moans echoed through the halls and it originated from behind the thick oak doors of Lord Duncan's chambers. While the guards were stationed outside, shifting uncomfortably as they tried to ignore the sinful sounds as much as they could.
Lord Duncan had dismissed the court elders abruptly, his body practically vibrating with an insatiable hunger. He roughly summoned a young maidservant, practically dragging the trembling girl into his quarters. Her cries soon joined the chorus of wanton noises.
The guards grimaced, all too familiar with these depraved episodes from their powerful alpha leader. Lord Duncan seemed utterly consumed by his beastly urges in the wake of the council meetings. His feral side clearly overwhelmed any sense of decorum.
The piteous wails from the poor maidservant eventually gave way to a sudden silence. The guards exchanged knowing looks, their stomachs turning. They would soon be tasked with disposing of yet another of Lord Duncan's brutalized chicks.
Sure enough, the heavy doors creaked open to reveal Lord Duncan's imposing figure. His muscular torso glistened with a sheen of sweat, his eyes hollow and expression chillingly blank.
In the shadows of the vast bedroom, the guards caught glimpses of the girl's torn and bloodied undergarments amidst the ruins of rummaged bedsheets.
They've had to pull the dead bodies of some sluts out of the bedroom.
Or burn them to ashes.
The door burst open as Lord Duncan's mighty form walked out of the bedroom.
His chest glistening with sweat.
His eyes held no emotions.
His shaft looked bigger in his pants.
Clear evidence that he had not been sated.
"Clean it up,burn her up."
The deafening command went into their ears.
They walked into the room,clearing and cleaning everything possible.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lord Duncan's huge frame took the entire space on his seat as he rubbed his forehead.
A wife?
A chuckle tore through his lips as he closed his eyes.
He chuckled to himself again.
Imagining himself being married and trying to have kids.
He shut his eyes at the thought of that.
Hell he didn't want a kid!.
But he was definitely getting a wife.
How pathetic!
After the wreck of his parents' relationship.
He couldn't think of getting into the entanglement called a 'marriage.'
He was still finding it difficult to know why they'd want him to be married before...
The door opened, putting a stop to his thoughts as a maid walked in.
"Josh Caden is here." She said as he sprang up from his seat.
"What the..."
"Longest time buddy." The most demonic voice he'd ever heard greeted as he rolled his eyes back
Growling in rage.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elsewhere in the castle, Princess Clarissa defiance met her mother's stern gaze.
"Mom, I'm taking this seriously," the teenager protested.
"No, you aren't," Felicia chided. "Malcolm didn't make those claw marks up, did he?" Her eyes narrowed at the tattered curtains hanging askew as evidence of her daughter's lack of restraint.
"You clawed them again," she said sternly. Clarissa merely pouted her lips petulantly. "It was a mistake."
Their discussion was interrupted by Clarissa's younger sister, Gigi, breezing into the room carrying an armful of books. With a sly grin at her sibling, Gigi piped up,
"Mom, can I have a word with you?"
Felicia nodded at her other daughter. "Of course sweetie."
"I was wondering if we could do a competition between all the teenage girls, then the guys can do theirs after? I know..." Gigi began.
"That would be great, but first are you certain about this?" Felicia asked skeptically.
Gigi nodded eagerly. "Of course Mom, I'm certain." Her gaze slid over to Clarissa, her smirk growing. "I'm certain." She replied before heading out.
"Why does she suddenly want a competition?" Carissa questioned with a cocked brow, knowing deep down that her sister could be up to something.
" So she can show how good she is at fighting". Felicia responded. "Or wolfing down other creatures?".
" Humor me that!" Clarissa said with a light chuckle. "She's not even a full Lycan." Clarissa said, laying properly on the bed.
"All the more you need to show us what you've got". Felicia stated with sterness written in her eyes. "You cannot just sit and expect us to know you've got potential. Prove it!".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yes!" Gigi screamed the minute she walked into her bedroom.
Now the queen had given her the opportunity to show her skills and she'd definitely do it.
Looking around the room,she smirked evilly to herself.
She's the first child and so the throne rightfully belongs to her.
Not some weak girl who calls herself a Lycan.
She hated the fact that a coyote had bitten her to keep her from dying.
Of course all had been strategic.
She'd cut her veins on purpose and let the blood flow out of her bedroom.
At first she'd been awake but as the time went by,she fainted.
She was almost gone when one of the maids saw her and brought her back to life.
Since then, she'd been undergoing training even without her parents knowing.
She vowed to be stronger than Clarissa.
Or any other teen werewolf.
This is just the beginning.
Next she'd devise a plan and make sure she tells it to the alpha king.
She must be made the clan leader.....she will be made clan leader. She smiled to herself.
~~~~~~~~
Duncan walked briskly toward his window, his body was heating up badly.
It was the day again.
The day he hated the most.
The day of the full moon.
He walked toward his bed and grabbed the bag in which he kept a cloth.
And then he slowly walked out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
He slowly laid his bag down.
The moon effect on him was getting harder and harder to ignore.
He stepped backwards.
Pains radiating through his body.
His legs were becoming weak and weak in carrying him.
Hair were beginning to erupt from his body.
He scratched down on his fours.
Grunted for a while and then his wolf took over.
He was in his wolf form again.
The wolf he hated.
Why was he born an half Vampire and half Werewolf.
Just Why?!...
He despised the werewolf clan and will always do.
He is a vampire and will always be.
No one is allowed to find out about this secret.
He will keep hunting on Werewolves and this secret will die with him.
He grunted for a while and soon he was back in his human form.
Completely naked.
He got on his feet and quickly put his clothes on.
Checking on intervals if anyone was approaching.
He stared at his torn clothes on the floor and sighed.
He grabbed his bag and slowly walked off.
Back to his home.
Clarissa walked out of her bedroom.
Heart in her mouth and nervous as hell.
Why would her father call her so early in the morning to his chamber?
Getting to the door, she met Liam and Garrett.
The coyotes stationed at the door.
They bowed their heads in greetings as she pushed the door and walked in.
She met Gigi sitting next to their mother.
While she wasted no time in picking the seat next to her father.
"I didn't ask you to sit," Alpha King Uriel growled, his eyes flashing dangerously at her.
Clarissa immediately sprang to to her feet, mumbling her apology under her breath as her cheeks flushed crimson. She gently stole a side long look to the sly curve on Gigi's lips before she averted her gaze, submissively.
"You are both here for a purpose, that's the reason I called you." The pack leader stated, his menacing authority taking over the place. He instantly commanded the room's undivided attention causing Gigi to perk up eagerly. "I've trained you both enough I believe." His piercing eyes bored into Clarissa's soul. "It's about time you left for your pilgrimage."
Silence fell over the gathering as the weight of his words sank in. Every person kndw the significance of the pilgrimage and what it carried. It was a passage mandated only for the Alpha's offspring once they were mated.
Clarissa's head whipped around to her mother in abject confusion. This simply could not be...not yet!
Felicia's neutral features remained unreadable as her eyes focused on something in the distance.
The girl's gaze skated to Gigi, mouth agape in shock and denial. She shook vehemently.
The pilgrimage, she didn't think was something she could endure. With the stories she'd heard of it and the consequences... Gigi wasn't even Lycan. Nor were both girls even mated.
"But we're not mated yet," Gigi interjected, her melodic voice cutting through the charged atmosphere like a rapier.
A dozen pairs of eyes swiveled her way, drinking in the aggressive jut of her delicate jaw and the defiant spark smoldering in her hazel depths.
"It's my order," Uriel stated with finality, leaning forward to brace his bulging forearms on the polished desktop. "You'll leave for Washington in twelve hours."
Clarissa's slender throat constricted as dread coiled in the pit of her stomach.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I still can't believe you let that happen." Gigi said bitterly, voice laced with frustration as she packed her cloths into a large cardboard box. Her movements were sharp and aggressive, expressing her irritation.
With a grunt, she snapped the box lid closed, before turning to face Malcolm with a stern face. Strands of her hair fell across her face as her framing eyes burned with intensity.
"He actually listens to you." She spat, referring to her father's decision that had fueled her anger. "You could have said something, done something, anything that would make him change his mind!"
The room held a chaotic energy, with half filled boxes and scattered belongings strewn about. The ray of twilight, flitered in through the window, casting a faint glow ok the scene.
Malcolm met Gigi's gaze, his expression a calm contrast to Gigi's heated outburst. "He listens to me for advice concerning your training." He replied, emphasizing the "your" even though his tone was unfazed by her outburst.
Gigi rolled her eyes dramatically, her full lips pursing into a pout. "We're not even mated yet, but we're going on a pilgrimage?" Her voice rose in disbelief, escalating to a shrill scream as her temper flared. "What the actual hell?!"
Unfazed, Malcolm spoke in a measured tone, attempting to reason with her. "Gigiana, there's nothing you can do about it," he stated plainly. "Think of this, you can actually meet new people. And of course, no one's watching your every move there." He held her gaze meaningfully. "Remember, it's a kind of survival of the fittest. And you'll come back to prove your worth to your father."
Gigi's expression gradually softened, while the fire in her eyes flickered before fading.
"I guess I didn't think of it that way." She said, feeling suddenly embarrassed by her unreasoned outburst.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Clarissa's belongings were packed with equal fervor, even though the mood was more tense.
"You can at least talk him out of the shit he calls a pilgrimage!" She said exasperatedly her voice carried through the hallway. "It su..."
"Can you quit talking already?" She was abruptly cut off my a growl. Felicia snapped, her rough tone laced with impatience. " You're giving me a hell of a headache."
Felicia moved about Clarissa's room with brisk efficiency, assisting the maid in packing Clarissa's belongings into sturdy trunks and cases. Her movements were sharp and purposeful, reflecting her no-nonsense demeanor.
"It's for the best." She raised her gaze to meet Clarissa's, her gaze stern. "Make sure you don't entangle yourself with those blood suckers. They're definitely out there." She stated firmly leaving no room for argument. Her words carried a weight of warning as she ticked off the potential dangers on her fingers. "They're found especially in clubs, hotels, motels, restaurants and so on."
Clarissa signed, but nodded. "It seems more like we're heading to college," she remarked wryly, attempting to inject some levity into the tense atmosphere.
Felicia, however, was unamused. With a weary sigh, she fixed Clarissa with a pointed look. "Do you ever get serious?" she chided, shaking her head before turning on her heel and striding out of the room, leaving Clarissa to ponder her mother's words.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Six hefty guards followed swiftly as Lord Duncan made his way into the tallest building on the street.
His black jacket complemented his white skin.
And of course his constant spectacles.
Several women in the company have been fired for drooling openly at him.
And now.
They only stare and drool in closed doors.
Melinda, his secretary, walked briskly before him, throwing open the door to the boardroom.
Which is off-bound to all the workers in the company.
Excluding his guards.
Walking in, he slid the master card into the machine.
It vibrated and the wall parted into two as they walked in.
"She's arriving today." A little girl of six said, offering him some bunch of flowers.
"Take her away." He said to the older woman standing close by.
"Yes my Lord."
"How's her treatment coming?" He asked, referring to the little girl.
She's a seer but became blind as soon as she was born.
A memory he'd choose not to go into..
"Can we avoid the topic?".
~~~~~~~~~
" There's no changing it".
" You'll leave whether you like it or not".
" Either way, you're leaving." Felicia snapped at Clarissa, putting her nagging to an abrupt end.
Their bags were carried down to the car as Gigi looked around the huge house.
"I can't believe we won't be seeing this for the next few months...".
"It's unimaginable." She finished, turning around to hug her parents.
"Keep a close eye on your sister Gigi".
" She might be up to eighteen".
" But the child in her is still huge." Alpha Uriel said as everyone chuckled.
Clarissa ducked her head in shame.
Moving swiftly into the car as they chuckled again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally the car hit the road.
Ofcourse Malcolm was asked to stay with them till they get back also, to continue with their training.
Clarissa looked out of the window, wondering how life would treat her.
She'd never been away from her family before.
Much less being in the human world.
She wondered who brought such an idea of the 'pilgrimage'.
Well it sucks!.
She thought, groaning out loudly.
Gigi turned to look at her.
"Are you okay?" Gigi asked, looking at Malcolm in the mirror.
"Of course,I am".
"You think I am not?" She was quick to add as Gigi rolled her eyes.
"Of course".
" You were practically groaning".
" And hey, we're not preys." She spat as Clarissa's face coloured crimson.
Malcolm held back his laughter as Gigi shrugged.
"Suit yourself!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the meeting at the company,Lord Duncan asked his driver to take him to the only place where he rages out.
Seeing Bernice in that condition.
Blind; had his rage for the werewolves coming back.
His fangs threatened to tear off his bottom lip.
His claws drew constant circles on the seat of the car.
Tearing them in shreds.
The driver knew he'd have to change that once they got back home.
The continuous clawing at the seat didn't stop until the huge tower stood a few feet away.
"Stop right here." He ordered.
Immediately the car halted.
He got out of the car, running with a mad speed, till he disappeared into the tower.
She seemed to have gotten his message loud and clear, because the next moment, she walked out and lurched at him with full force.
Tearing into his arm, see didn't hold back, and the sick sound of ripping flesh filled the space.
The tower fell into an eerie silence as he roared out in agony, a deep animalistic growl reverberating through the thick stone walls, seeming to shake even the very foundations.
His eyes blazed with eerie, hellish red as his irises were consumed by the crimson fire that burned within him.
His fang pierced the delicate skin with ease as thick droplets of blood began to drop from the wound staining his dark crimson.
~~~~~~~
They continued fighting.
The fight continued for what seems to be like forever.
Until the lady had him on the floor with her leg on top of his chest.
"I let you win today." He said, accepting the hand she stretched for him to stand up.
"Meaning you're angry." She said, wiping the blood stains off her body as she healed completely.
"Renie,how have you been?" He asked and she knew what he meant.
"As always,my answer remains the same." Renie stated bluntly. I''m not fine. I'll never be fine until we kill all the werewolves, until we make them pay for what they did to me." She finished.
The hatred in her voice evident.
And she sure wasn't kidding.
She was really gonna make them pay.
He slowly nodded raising his hand in surrender because he knew her all too much.
"Come home with me." He whispered, caressing her face lovingly as she moved backwards.
"Romance between us is forbidden Duncan".
" At least not now." She whispered as he nodded in understanding.
"Of course." She saw the raw pain in his eyes.
The torment he was passing through.
Renie had once lived a blissful and sweet life.
Not until the werewolves attacked them unannounced.
They wiped the vampires which were on sight, leaving them few in numbers.
In the process, Renie and Duncan had been pursuing romance together.
But it suddenly stopped when she was raped by a werewolf.
She became pregnant and isolated herself.
Duncan frayed and raged but it was futile.
His woman had been marked by an unknown werewolf.
He tried searching for the werewolf but of course nothing came forth.
"You know where to find me if you need me." He whispered as she nodded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We're finally here." Clarissa said, grinning from ear to ear as they stepped out of the car.
"And the house is so huge,I mean how..."
"Can you at least keep quiet for a while..?".
" We've got a lot of time to discuss what and how big the house is for now we need to go in." Gigi reprimanded her.
Malcolm chuckled.
"What's so funny?" Clarissa asked, clearly irritated as she stamped her feet.
"You could be helpful here".
" You know." Gigi said, throwing a lightweight bag to her.
Before following Malcolm into the house.
"Hey Malcolm".
" How did it go when you came for your pilgrimage?".
" Was it fun?" Clarissa asked, placing the bag at the foot of the stairs.
Indeed it was a beautiful house with the interior top notch.
"Yeah but not all the..."
"Malcolm come over here".
" Would you?".
" I think it's stuck." Gigi's voice disrupted them as Clarissa rolled her eyes.
Malcolm is in his thirties but yet without a mate.
And it bothers everyone in the pack.
Including her.
He'd been placed as her tutor even before Gigi was adopted.
She and Malcolm had been close ever since she was born.
But as soon as Gigi came into the picture, everything went down the drain.
She shook her head, clearing her foggy thoughts.
"Not time to ponder on indolent things." She muttered under her breath.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Returning back to his quiet and cold room.
He took his clothes off sighing tiredly as his blue balls nodded vigorously.
He needed to sink himself into a woman and not just any woman.
He wanted it to be Renie.
Sweet and ready.
Most of all, able to match his strength.
The rape incident had made her withdraw from any form of intimate activity.
She now termed herself as weak.
That's why he let her win the fight.
After she was raped,she hid herself for so many days, refusing to talk to anyone.
She ranted...
Tore at herself and clawed her skin off.
She was always muttering
" Weak!".
" Weak!".
Always!.
And when she found out about being pregnant,it became worse for everyone.
Most especially Lord Duncan.
She became so quiet you'd think she was dead.
She continued to clutch her pregnancy.
Shaking with terror at night.
And then waking up with nightmares following her.
Of course before the rape, she was missing for three months.
And in that three months, no one knew what happened.
Or who took her.
She refused to open up to anyone.
Not even Lord Duncan.
After birth,she put her child away,up for adoption without anyone knowing.
And a young couple took her, paying a huge sum.
But Duncan wasn't pleased about it.
He searched for the child, threatened the couple into giving her up.
As he returned their money back with additional sum on top.
Closing his eyes,he let the cool walls of the bathroom touch his back.
While the water washed down his face.
Still there was something bothering him.
The most important duty.
"A wife. A werewolf wife..." He whispered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Why isn't he here?" Someone in the hall mumured to another.
" Why did he..." The hall became silent immediately as Lord Duncan walked in.
His eyes scanned the huge tavern where the elders sat.
The stench of dried blood hung in the air.
And not only that,he perceived the most unwanted blood ever.
The blood of an animal.
The order has been passed down from their forefathers.
Yet someone dared defile his orders...?
Looking around,he waved a finger in the air.
As everyone looked at him.
" I smell the blood of an animal. Why?" He asked as the tension left their faces.
" I killed it." An elder stated. "And blood ran down that lane."
" We're not so dumb to defile your orders." Another elder spoke of the elders said as he nodded.
" So what's new? " He asked, looking around the tavern as a scary looking vampire stood up.
His fangs were out in the open and his eyes were bloodshot.
He's from the salvage clan.
They're almost always tasty for human blood and must be provided with it.
As at when due to avoid them running into town.
" I perceived something strange today. Something we've not seen in the past twenty years. A Lycans blood passed through my nostrils". He said as all eyes turned to look at him.
" Did you say, a Lycans blood? " Lord Duncan asked, and the man nodded.
"It only means one thing." The elder continued. "We have werewolves in town".
" Send as many guards as you can. The minute we lay hold on the pervert..." Duncan growled. "It'll be a huge way in knowing where their abode is".
