Chapter 1 01

The wind blew away her scarf, making her shrill and holding it back. This is what she gets for leaving the pack very early in the morning.

She has been so enthusiastic, happy that she will finally be leaving the four walls that surrounded her and also the securities she had to deal with all the time. For Aurora, being alone and getting the peace of mind she deserves matters.

There will be no day that she would explain to her father that she is safe and doesn't need him to plant more five security on her. She took her two years to convince him that she was ready to get out into the world, fight for herself and return back home with the victory call.

That was what mattered to her and yet, she got a rule, she will agree to move to the city of Atlanta with her cousin who have a five star in defence.

Aurora was okay with it, she likes James who happens to be her cousin and that was because he understood her and what she goes through. Growing up without a mother was hard on her, even though she had her father to rub her back when she is sick or someone to cuddle when she needs a hug to sleep.

Still, she lacked one thing and she never showed it to her poor father, he will blame himself for not saving her mother when he should have done it. And then, Aurora also blamed herself for what ever had happened to her mother.

Although she was just seven, she would have screamed and gained the attention of others when she saw the eyes of the vampire king changed.

"What are you thinking of?" Aurora was jolted out of her thoughts by James who was sitting in the car with her.

Even though, he was used to her blacking out on him, he still made sure that she doesn't get too engrossed in her thoughts. "Nothing much, just how our lives will change when we get to the city." She uttered.

Her voice was low as she fiddled with the hem of her blouse. "Yes, life will definitely change at us but then, you have me and I have you, we don't need much." He responded, swerving the car to the other lane.

She knew what he meant by you have me and I have you, yet she doesn't care. She hasn't never been in love, despite James throwing his advances on her. It was actually a miracle that James didn't turn into a rogues after his mate died and he became widowed.

"Yeah, we will see how things will be." She said to him, reaching into her back pack and taking out some burnt marshmallows and a pack of jelly.

The pack made a sound as she opened teh jelly, putting a handful in her hands and passing it to James. "Thank you." He told her, popping them into his mouth as he continued to drive on the lone road leading to the city of Atlanta.

All the places, Aurora choose the further her studies in the city of Atlanta because she heard that the Vampire King resides there and there is a possibility of her meeting him before she knows.

On her laps was a bright beam key made into a necklace. It was said to lead to the apartment that her mother used while she was staying in Atlanta.

Aurora is really not sure if she could do it, opening that particular place that her mother was killed and she was there. Maybe, she will just let James do the rest and get the cleaners clear out the entire apartment.

For her to be able to concentrate, she will have to wipe out all the things that will bring back the memories and she is willing to do it. "Do you think I can be able to take him down?" She asked referring to her biggest enemy of the moment, Noel.

"Of course, you can and would. You have been trained for that for years, you know how to take a vampire down and I am sure it won't take you more than a month before you do it, I trust you." He assured.

The journey seemed endless to her, most things have changed and a huge clock stood up in the sky when they reached the borders of the town. "Finally." She breathed out.

James let out a chuckled before he stopped, just after passing the border. As he told, he said he was going to take a leak but from what she saw was him bringing out his phone and putting it on the other side of his face. "Maybe he is updating father." She thought, finishing off her jelly and the burnt marshmallows that was now cold.

She threw out at the pack and the same time, James returned fixing his pants. "What a dumb boy, you could have done it out there." She screamed, covering her eyes.

"I felt like doing it here and beside, there is nothing wrong. It is not like you haven't seen me naked." He called.

She palmed her face, remembering the most embarrassing moment of her life when she had found James having sex with another lady, just in the farm house. She was taken by surprise that she could not move for some damn minutes.

The girl that he was having sex with ran away and then, James came to snap her out. "You don't have to say it that way, y'know."

"I am hungry, how about we stop by a restaurant first?" James asked.

At the same time, her stomach rumbled and she nodded her head. Since James is already used to the city, she didn't really care much. She knows he will take her to the best restaurants to try out, knowing that she doesn't eat food made by people no one knows, some said she has trust issues and she doesn't blame them.

That was how her father trusted the vampire king and the life of her mom was used as an exchange of that trust making mistakes.

â€"

The restaurant stood high, with the four pillars holding it in support. Outside the restaurant was flowers used to decorate and one thing she noticed was the amount of sunflowers.

The flowers surrounded most of the outlet, assuring her that the owner most be a fan of sunflowers. A huge signboard was the first thing she saw when she lifted her head up.

"Fine And Dine." She read out loudly.

"Ah, it belongs to an old friend of mine. I just thought that we should stop by and say hi, then have some take-out pack for us." He explained.

She had no issues with him seeing his friends so she agreed. She mumbled a silent prayer to the Goddess before dropping down of the car and following James inside the restaurant.

Mouth agape, she watched around how the restaurant was finely decorated. A huge portrait of whom she had no idea of was plastered on the wall and it is the first thing someone will see after entering. "It is beautiful." She commented, turning until her eyes fell on one person and her wolf screamed Mate.

But it couldn't be right? What was he doing there? He is meant to be on the other side of Atlanta, not here. "Calm down, Aurora. What is wrong?" James questioned when he saw the way she was clutching and un-clutching her fist.

"The vampire king, the one person I am trained to fight and kill." She gritted out, pointing at the place where Noel and his men were eating and chattering away.

James grabbed her hands, dragging her away from the place. "What do you think you are doing? This is the right time for me to attack him? Why did you have to drag me here?" She asked angrily.

"I need you to calm down. You can't act without a plan, we don't how many they are out here, I mean we are in their territory so what do you expect? Thousands of them." He explained while she huffed out in anger.

"And then, you can't be sure be sure he is the one. Remember, this is Atlanta and a lot of people look alike." James reasoned.

He should have let go and she will make sure to fight him, even if it means her dying at the spot. "So how about we do this? I will go to the counter, grab our order fast and we will leave, even before you know it." He added and without for a reply from her, he left to the counter.

It took Aurora a lot to calm down and fight her wolf down. Her wolf was screaming wolf and wants to run to their mate but Aurora's mind was screaming our mate is a murderer.

If the Vampire king is her mate then it is going to be a confidential information that she can't tell anyone, even James because he will act fast ahead of her and tell her father. She wouldn't like that, she wants to deal with everything on her own.

Deep in her thoughts, she didn't even know that someone was approaching her until she heard that deep hoarse voice that almost gave her an orgasm. "Did you come here alone?" The voice asked and she looked up.

Stunned and at the same time, angry she saw the vampire king standing in front of her. He must definitely doesn't know who she is. "No." Came her curt reply as she turned her face to the other side, distracting herself.

Noel followed her face. "I am Noel and I don't mind becoming your friend." He told her extending his hand for a shake.

If she shakes his hands, then she is definite giving him an idea of who or what she might be. But then, she might be wrong, he can't be the one.

The man right in front of her seems younger than the vampire king, way younger. So maybe he is not the one, yeah, she has to believe that.

Chapter 2 02

Noel Anthony.

"Maybe, there is a way." Noel uttered to his assistant.

In his hands was a report for a new building that he had bought outside of the city. It wasn't a bit far from the border and then, most travellers stop there.

The restaurant was going bankrupt and the owner needed someone to help stop the place from going bankrupt. That was when Noel came into the pictures.

He is man that is interested in building a lot of buildings and then, he put his people as the employees. It was his way of helping them mingle with people more.

He always believe that humans helped the generation a few years back, they helped the Vampires clans without even knowing. They helped him at his lowest, helped his people and also, helped him take down their enemies over the years.

He owes them big one. "Yes, we can expand the place when you buy it. Maybe build a larger kitchen, store room and add more tables. The last time I went there, people were standing outside, waiting for others to leave." His assistant, Gaby said.

Noel used his left hand to push back his sleek hair. "I like it. I believe we should go and check it later. Any words from James?" He asked, keeping the file across the room.

He will sign it when he returns from the restaurant. He needs to know the state the restaurant is in. "Not yet. He hasn't called since yesterday night." Gaby responded.

Noel nodded his head before dismissing Gaby. He was still in his sleeping robes and there was trail of spit by the side of his mouth, which he didn't even care about.

The alarm woke him up around seven in the morning for his vitamins and he went back when he took the drugs, without exercising. Gaby barged into the room, waking him up and dragging him out of the room, saying Noel needs to exercise to keep fits.

For a 199 years old Vampire, there are things he needs to do to be fit and healthy, which is what Gaby is helping him do. "Fuck." He grumbled standing up and he went straight to his room.

He got rid of his clothings, stepping straight into the shower and letting letting the cold water hits his spine, making him moan in process. For a vampire, bathing with hot water kills them internally, hence he hardly baths with cold water, no matter the situation.

His hand grabbed the sponge from the rack and used it to scrub out the dirt from his skin from his body. It didn't take him more than ten minutes and he was done.

While at it, he washed his hair again then he wrapped a towel around his waist and one on his hair to stop water from dripping. When he went back to the room, the bed was already made and the curtains were lifted up to a certain level, allowing the sun light to brighten the room more.

He smiled at how fresh and minty the room smelled, making his way to the closet. One thing with him is that he is obsessed with black.

You would find only a few colors in the closet. And today is colorful day for him so he decided to opt for a navy blue shirt and a grey pants.

He stayed, staring at his reflections in the mirror and when he was satisfied, he left for the dining area. Different varieties of food were arranged on the dining, and so sad, he is the only one to eat and he won't be able to finish it all. "Good morning master." The maids greeted, bowing down.

He waved his hands, taking a seat and motioning for one of them to serve him. He pointed at the French bread toast with honey drizzled on it, coffee and then bacon.

The rest of the food doesn't fancy him enough, not that he doesn't like them, just that he is not in the mood to have them. "Do you need anything master?" The girl that served him asked.

He nodded his head, dismissing them. He hardly speaks to the maids, unless it is about something serious. He was half way through with his food when he remembered something and called for the maid nearby. "Get me Gaby." He requested, knowing Gaby will be around the kitchen stuffing his mouth with the food.

Gaby returned a minute after the maid had left to call him. "You called for me, King Noel." Gaby uttered as he reached close to Noel.

"Yes, do we still have blood in the bank?" He asked, regarding the blood they collect and keep in the blood banks for future use.

The Vampires were stopped from attacking any human and taking blood from them, except that person is a threat and an enemy of their generations. "Not really much, but it will take us two weeks before we need more." Gaby replied.

Noel let out a breathe, cutting from the bacon and stuffing his mouth with it. He took his time, chewing it before swallowing it. "I guess it is time we pay The Pages a visit because they left me no choice." He told Gaby.

The Pages is an organisation of humans that he had signed treatise with but those people in the organisation decided to betray Noel. He acted blind to all their deeds but now since he needs more blood to store in the blood bank, he will go for them.

"I will prepare the car." Gaby mumbled before he rushed out of the building and headed towards the underground parking lot.

Noel dusted his shirt, standing up and headed for the office. He will just pick a file regarding the Pages and then meet Gaby outside. After meeting with the Pages, he will then go and check the out restaurant, then make plans for it. "A surprise card will be needed too." He uttered to no one in particular, picking up another file

â€"

To say the Pages were terrified when they saw Noel Anthony himself, in their mansion. His face alone, stirred a commotion in their mind not to talk of when their leader sighted the files in his hand. "What brought you here master?" The leader asked, with a very terrified voice.

"That's not how you treat your guest, especially when that guest is a king." Noel snarled, taking a seat.

He dropped the files on the table, pushing it towards the leader. "You know what I hate the most? Traitors that go back on their words and then act like nothing happened." Noel told him.

The leader fell on the ground, with his body shaking in fear and terror. All the guards of the Pages around them fell to the ground as their leader. "What are you doing? Get up, all of you." He ordered.

They did as he asked them to, but her body was still shaking. "Well, you will pay for it of course, and the hard way." He smirked.

Noel is a man that hates beating around the bushes, when he wants something or do something, he goes straight to the point, hitting the bull in the eyes. "I will leave you alive but, I am leaving here with some scapegoats. I don't care who and what they are, I need thirty of your people." He stopped.

"No, seventy of your problem. That will do and now, I don't want to wait long here because I have things to do."

He motioned for Gaby to come forward before he whispered into his ears. "Have them transferred to the base."

He watched with glittering eyes as the leader rushed out, to get those people. If he had requested for hundred or more, he knows the Pages will be able to provide them. They are actually human traffickers but from his instructions which the Page clearly understood, he was to bring from his people, not those he had the intention of using to earn more money.

His phone rang, he passed it to Gaby as he was so engrossed in watching more the leader was assemblying people together. Gaby later returned, passing the phone to him. "It was James. They just passed the border and might be taking a stop at the same restaurant we will be heading to." Gaby informed him.

"Then, I think I should surprise a young Aurora right? I will love to see how she will act when she sees me. You know I love it when I see people in anger and agony." He smirked.

A sociopath or a psycho as some people called him but he doesn't care, there was nothing they could do to him when he derive his happiness from their sadness and how terrified they look.

Gaby nodded his head, moving ahead of him as Noel had a last word with the Pages and the sound of a blasting gun resonated the place. "Damn, why did you do that?" Gaby asked, because he of all people didn't dictate that was what Noel had been planning.

"He deserves it, that was for betraying me. Make sure that all of them are transferred to the base." He repeated again, opening the passager seat and letting Gaby drive to the outlet of Atlanta.

He hummed along the song playing in the radio and remembering those days that he was still stupid and couldn't fight on his own. That was why the werewolves looked down on him, tried to use his weakness as their advantage. But not anymore because he had vowed to wipe their entire generations with his own hands and fangs.

"Do you think she would recognise me?" He asked Gaby.

Gaby turned to look at him, then faced the road as he drove. "Who wouldn't? You have been her enemy ever since that day and she was trained to kill you, then why won't she?" Gaby replied.

Noel chuckled, looking forward to meeting Aurora, after so many years. Because for someone to be trained to kill him alone, they surely have a lot of guts to do that. The Alpha alone isn't a match for him, not to talk of his naive daughter.

Chapter 3 03

Of course, she was wrong. The person she saw wasn't the one she is trained to kill. That person she saw was her mate and his name was Andrew.

He was very calm and nice to her. He even asked her to join them at their table but a hard girl like Aurora told him no, she was waiting for someone and would like if she was left alone.

Her wolf was happy, jumping and was trying to take over her. Her wolf whose name is Diane tried to force Aurora into following Andrew but it was impossible.

When she got it that her wolf might make her do something stupid if she keeps on waiting for James inside the restaurant, she left and lucky for her, the car was opened.

She jumped inside, fighting her wolf back. "Stop it Diane, it makes no sense to me going back there and trying to explain to a human that he is my mate. He doesn't understand that type of language." Aurora uttered in her mind.

"I don't care, I want to be with mate. Mate." Her wolf screamed. Aurora had to force her back to her mind and then she was able to concentrate on things.

It wasn't up to two minutes when James returned juggling food packs in his hands. "I went to look for you, you should have given me headups that you will be returning to the car." He ranted passing her a pack and a smoothie cup.

Thank you was the only thing Aurora said to him as she opened the food pack, stuffing her mouth with the mouth-watering chicken Alfredo.

Who thoughts it would taste that nice to even make her moan? She took a sip of the banana smoothie and continued to eat while James drove the car into the city.

She cleared her mouth when she was done, thanking James once again for getting her food like that. "It taste good but not like the one back home." She told him.

"Yeah, food from home is always the best." He replied her and soon, they were in the drive way of the apartment owned by her mother then, but now, it is in her name.

Nothing about it had changed except there was more rooms and more tenants, which means she has to be extra careful with whatever she does. She doesn't want anyone to know her real identity, at least not now, maybe when she is almost done with her plans. "It doesn't age." James whispered, regarding the building.

"Yeah." She mumbled out and exited the car. She helped James, alongside two of the staff to bring out their luggage and they collected the key from the reception. "Welcome home miss." The receptionist greeted, making Aurora to flash a forced smile.

"You know, smiling more often will help. Loosen up a bit and make new friends, that won't stop your mission." James uttered.

She only gave him a nod, thinking about what he had just said. Maybe he wasn't wrong, maybe she should just loosen up before she finds her greatest enemy, Noel.

They reached the room and she opened it, giving way to the rest to pass. She stood by the door way, until the staffs left and James was waiting for her inside. "Everything was changed as you asked, I doubt you will get those memories and thoughts again." He said to her.

She took a deep breath before crossing into the room. The door behind her closed and she gasp when she saw the room looked. Everything was changed and she won't even said her mother lived there if she had not known before. She got rid of her shoes, jumping on the sofa and closing her eyes to enjoy the softness of the sofa.

"So, I will just eat and then help you unbox before I leave for my own apartment." James informed.

She had totally forgotten that she won't be sharing an apartment with James because she wanted her privacy, her father was against them staying together and James said there was no reason for them to sleep under the same roof.

But she knew he was lying. He was scared of what his mother would have done to him when she hears that he said he would like to share an apartment with me, he won't even hear the last of it. "Okay." She mumbled out.

"Thank you James." She screamed, closing her eye back and waited for James to finish his food so that she will unbox and rest more.

Travelling with a car is really not easy. She wasn't even the one that drove so she won't put herself in James's shoes, knowing he must be so tired and wants to sleep, but for her, he is putting up to it. He really cares about her.

â€"

It was noon already and James had just left promising to visit her a day after the next that is when he is done resting because his mind and body needs it.

She told him to take his time and rest because he really did try, he did everything in the house, he even cooked rice pudding for her before he left. To Aurora, James is something she will never want to lose, no matter what, he will be by her side, supporting her.

She was sitting on the sofa, surfing through the channels on the television but none ahd caught her attention. They were all reporting the news and she doesn't really care about what had happened until one channel that caught her eyes and attention.

The whole organisation were massacred, only their bodies was left and there was no blood left in them. There was a note attached to them which said to the government not to do anything.

No one has to tell her that she knows the person behind everything. It must be King Noel, the king of the Vampires. He is the only person that can wipe.oit the entire organisation and ask the government not to make an investigation on it.

But she is Aurora and in order to bring him down, she has to start with the mini crimes he commits. With that, she will be abe to get him red handed, with no way out and then she will have him for her revenge.

It is going to be as simple as that and in no time, she will do it. She found herself turning off the television when the news was done airing. Then she picked her phone, texting James and telling him about the news that she had just watched.

She would have called him but then, he might be sleeping and she doesn't want to wake him up. Her phone beeped and when she checked it, it was a reply from James, guess he wasn't asleep.

'How sure are you that it was the Vampire King? It can be anyone by the way.' The message said.

When she read it and read it again, it seems like James was trying to side with the vampire king when it is obvious that he is the one that did the killing. He is the only one that can do that.

Instead of sending him a reply, she switched off the phone and kept it aside. She left the living room to the kitchen, serving herself food and then she kept the rest in the refrigerator.

She would really never get tired of eating food made by James because his hands are really blessed. Even after attending a cooking class, she still couldn't cook like him and felt like a disgrace.

It took James a while to explain to her that it was okay if she couldn't cook like him. She has nothing prove to the world of cooking and neither does the world of cooking have anything to prove to her.

That convinced her and then she stopped comparing herself with James. "Damn." She muttered, putting the used plate in the sink and headed to the bedroom.

In the morning she would do the dishes and other thing around the house, but now the only thing on her mind is sleep and she can't even forget about the man she saw earlier, Andrew, her mate.

Not to lie, but she is really looking forward to seeing him again and then she regrets not getting his phone number. Going back to the restaurant is not a guarantee that she will get to see him again.

It is going to be a mere gamble and waste of time if you ask her. So she will leave everything to the Goddess to arrange their next meeting, just like she did for the first time.

She made the bed first then went to the bathroom to take her bath. She used a bath bomb instead of using sponge and soap to clean her skin due to how tired she was.

She stayed there, in the tub for more than an hour to the extend that the water had gotten cold and she couldn't stay in any longer. She rinsed off her body and wrapped a towel around her body before cleaning her feet, getting rid of the water and she went back to the bedroom.

She picked out a hello kitty pajamas from the closet and wore it over, then headed for the bed. She laid there, staring at the ceiling and wondering how her life would have been with her mother still alive.

Or rather, what was the reason that her mother was killed by the Vampire King because her father doesn't want to tell her anything. "Either ways, I have to get my revenge." She gritted out.
