Chapter 1 AN OMEGA'S CURSE

CHAPTER ONE.

AN OMEGA's CURSE.

Raine's point of view.

The sound of my sobs echoed in my room, piercing the somber silence.

I sat curled up on my bed, my hands clenching tightly to the bedsheets as I walked in grief.

"My mate..." I whispered, with hot tears running down my cheeks.

My sister, Freya, rushed into the room, her eyes brimming with tears. "Raine, please," she begged, wrapping her arms around my shaking form.

"Please do not cry. I am here for you."

But I could not hear my sister's words. All I could feel was the emptiness of my mate's absence, the ache of his loss digging deeper and deeper into my soul.

"He is gone," I sobbed, my voice raw with anguish. "He is gone and I am all alone."

Our mother who had been watching from the doorway, finally stepped into the room.

"Stop your blubbering," she snapped, her voice as sharp as broken glass. "You are bringing shame to this family with you pathetic display."

I winced at my mother's harsh words, but my tears continued to flow like a river down my cheeks, a river whose source was my pain.

Freya shot my mother a glare.

"How can you say that, Mother?" Freya demanded, her voice trembling with anger. "Sister Raine is grieving."

But our mother only scoffed, her lips curling up into a sneer. "Grieving? For what? A weak omega like her should be grateful she had a mate at all, good riddance I say."

My heart wrenched at my mother's mean words and I felt the weight of my grief bearing down on my shoulders.

My mate, my soulmate, my life partner, my other half, was gone and I was left alone.

"Please mother," I whispered, my voice small and broken. "He was my everything. He is the only mate I had that loved me for who I was. And now...now he is gone. Do you not understand! Do you not feel my pain?"

But my mother's expression remained cold, a remainder that my pain meant absolutely nothing to her.

I buried my face in my hands, tears soaking my cheeks as I fought to control my sobs.

My mind reeled, spinning with emotions, mostly sadness, despair, anger and a bitter resentment that threatened to consume me.

"I hate you," I hissed, the words spitting out like a venom. "You are supposed to be my mother, but you do not even care. You just want me to die, you just want to see that I am no longer breathing, don't you?"

My mother's face contorted unto a mask of fury and she stalked towards me with a feral snarl.

"How dare you speak to me like that?" My mother spat, her voice harsh and cutting. "You are nothing but a disappointment, a burden on this family. And now with your mate dead, you are of no use to anyone."

I cringed, feeling the weight of my mother's hate on me. "Do not give up, she has no right to wish you bad." The voice in my head said.

"If you think I am useless," I said, my voice shaking with a new found strength, "then you can just kick me out of the house."

My words hung in the air like a challenge and my mother's eyes narrowed into slits. "Do not tempt me you cursed child. I would be more than happy to see the end of you."

My heart hammered in my chest but I stood my ground, unwilling to back down. "I am done with this," I said, my voice steady and resolute. "I am leaving, with or without you blessing."

My mother scoffed , a twisted smile on her lips.

"Goodbye." I said and stood up to leave.

My mother's expression darkened, her fingers tightening around my arm like a vice. "Oh no, you don't," she hissed, her lips pulled back in a snarl.

"You are not going anywhere. You are my daughter and I will not let you run off and bring more shame to this family."

I struggled but my mother's grip was like iron, unyielding and unforgiving. "Please let go of me!" I screamed my voice hoarse with desperation. "I am not going to stay back here and listen to all the mean things you have to say to my face."

My mother's smile widened, a cruel glint in her eyes. "Oh, but you are going to stay my dear." She purred. "And you are going to be married off, you will finally be free from my hand. But do not worry, you will be a perfect match for the alpha's son, now that his own has met with a s...similar fate."

My breath caught in my throat, my chest constricting with fear and rage. "No," I whispered, shaking my head in disbelief. "You can not do this to me. Please, please mother do not do this."

"Yes I can and I just did, you will get married to the alpha's cursed son, and I will be given the respect that I deserve in this pack. Raine you will not ruin my one shot at fame." My mother growled.

"I will never get married to him, all his mates mysteriously disappeared.

The ones who were found ...please mother do not do this. I will do anything you ask of me, please do not do this" I pleaded with my mother.

"Silence!" Mother roared. "Not another word out of you, you will go to your room and take a nice rest. Make sure you relax your mind and force yourself to accept that you will be married to the alpha's son, and don't you dare think of escaping. If you try anything funny, I will slit your sister's throat."

I gulped and my blood ran cold. "Keep sister out of this, please mother.

I will do anything but do not harm sister. I will marry the alpha's son."

"Very good, go to your room. This is your last night in this house cause you are getting married tomorrow." Mother said and walked away.

"Tomorrow?"

Chapter 2 MARRIAGE OR SLAVERY

CHAPTER TWO.

MARRIAGE OR SLAVERY?

Raine's point of view.

The following day, the alpha arrived at My mother's home, his presence was commanding and intimidating.

"Raine!" My mother snapped barging into my room. "The alpha is here. Get dressed now."

I looked at my mother, ever the opportunist.

I knew she felt this was her chance to secure her future, using me no matter how grim mine might seem.

"Yes," I said.

With trembling hands, I did as I was told, slipping my small body into a simple yet elegant gown.

My hair was styled in a modest braid and I applied lip stick.

"Let's go." Mother ordered.

"Y-Yes." I stuttered, my voice barely above a whisper.

My heart hammered as I descended the staircase, steeling myself for what was to come.

The alpha of our pack stood at the bottom of the stairs, his dark gaze fixed on me. "You," He said, his voice deep and commanding. "Come with me."

I froze, my whole body numb. My mother gave me a firm shove forward.

"Remember what I told you," she whispered, her voice a low hiss. "You are to be obedient and compliant. Your fate is sealed, girl. Make the best of it."

I swallowed the lump in my throat,my stomach churning with dread as the alpha led me into a private chamber.

The Alpha's presence loomed over me, his aura heavy and oppressive.

He was a straightforward man and did not waste time in getting to the point.

"You are a curse-bearer, just like my son," The alpha growled, pacing back and forth. "Your bloodlines have been cursed for centuries, and now you just both bear the burden of this legacy."

My throat went dry, my hands clenching into fists. "What does that mean for us?" I asked, my voice quavering slightly.

The alpha's eyes gleamed with cold, calculating light.

"It means that you will be married," he declared his time brooking no argument. "Not for love, but for duty and survival of our pack. You will be the Luna in name only, while my son will serve as the alpha. Together you will produce heirs to carry on our line and ensure that our pack does not fall into disarray."

My heart pounded, my mind reeling with the implications of the alpha's word.

"But...what if I refuse?"

I whispered, a giant flame of rebellion flickering to life within me.

The alpha's eyes narrowed, his expression chilling as winter frost. "You will not refuse?" He snarled, his fingers curling into talons. "You will obey me or you will suffer the consequences. Remember , Raine, you are cursed and the curse demands a price."

My breath caught in my throat,my body trembling with fear and anger. But I knew , deep down that I had no choice. My fate was sealed as surely as if I was already dead.

"I-I accept." I whispered, my voice barely audible.

The Alpha of our pack nodded, a predatory smile curling his lips. "Good," he purred, stepping closer his breath hot against my skin. "You have made a wise decision. And from now on, you belong to the pack , body and would. And you will do whatever it takes to ensure that our legacy survives."

My world spun, a fog of despair clouding my vision.

But I knew , in my heart of hearts that I had no choice. I was a curse bearer and this was my destiny.

I took a deep, shaky breath summoning the last of my courage.

"What about my safety?" I asked, my voice quivering slightly. "Everyone knows that your son is a rogue, he is dangerous and all of his mates died under mysterious circumstances. What's to stop him from harming me?"

The alpha's smile widened. "He may be a rogue, but he is still my son," he said, his voice smooth. " and he knows better than to disobey me. You will be safe Raine, as long as you remember your place and do as you were told."

I swallowed hard, the truth of his words sinking in me.

I was nothing more than a pawn in this game of power and legacy, a means to an end.

And yet I knew that if I had no choice but to ally along, if only to survive.

"And if I bear him a child?" I asked, my heart hammering in my chest. "Will I be allowed to raise my child?"

The Alpha of our pack snorted, his laughter cold and mocking. "Of course not, " he said, his eyes flashing with amusement.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"The child will be raised in the pack's nursery," The alpha continued, his tone dismissive. "It will be taught to be loyal to the pack, to serve its purposes. It will not be yours to love or yours to protect."

My stomach lurched, my heart aching at the thought of my win child being taken away from me, to be raised in a world where he is nothing but a pawn to be used, to be raised in a world of brutality and cold calculation.

But I knew I had no peer to stop it...

"And my curse?" I whispered, my voice trembling. "What will become of me if I succumb to it? What will happen?"

The alpha's smile vanished, his expression hardening like shine.

"If you succumb to your curse," he growled, his voice low and dangerous, "then you will be put down like a rabid beast that you are. You are nothing but a common wolf who will serve her pack. You will not bring shame to my pack, Raine. Not while I am still alive and breathing."

My blood ran cold, fear freezing my limbs and my whole body numb.

I knew, in that moment that my life was hanging and I would do anything, endure any insults or hardship to avoid the fate that awaited me if I delayed.

"You will obey me or ... face what comes your way."

Chapter 3 THE WEDDING DAY

CHAPTER THREE.

THE WEDDING DAY.

Raine's point of view.

Very early the next morning , I woke up with a frown on my face.

The wedding day arrived, a day that should have been one of joy and celebration, but it was a day of pain and torment.

From the moment I woke up, my mother started barking out orders at me.

"The alpha's son is here," she said and pulled my hand. "Let's go."

As I made my way downstairs, I felt like crying.

Then the devil walked up to me and snatched me from my mother's hand.

"You look like a pig in that dress. You are so ugly that calling you a pig is an insult to the pigs out there." He sneered, grabbing my arm roughly as we stood before the assembled pack. "I can not believe I am being forced to marry a weakling like you."

I winced, trying to hold back my tears as Oren tightened his grip, his sharp nails digging into my skin.

"Do not even think about crying," Oren hissed, his voice laced with venom. "You are an embarrassment to the pack and I will not have you making a fool of me on my wedding day."

I bit my lip, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill.

But Oren was not done with me yet. He leaned in, his hot breath against my ear.

"I wish you died with that cursed mate of yours." He whispered, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "But then I would not have had the pleasure of making your life a living hell."

As the ceremony continued, Oren's cruelty intensified.

He pulled my hair and pinched my skin several times, that small red spots began to appear.

"Do not worry, Cursed omega." Oren purred, his voice low and predatory. "I will break you, just like your curse broke your stupid mate. And when I am done with you, there will not be a shred of dignity left in your cursed body."

I gulped, my mind racing with thoughts.

The Alpha and the Luna of our pack, walked up to us. "Congratulations dear," The alpha said.

"Be a good wife and listen to your husband." He said.

I was supposed to listen to this maniac? This same jerk who wanted to kill me?

I faked a smile and nodded, the words stuck in my throat.

"Alright then, take care." The Luna said and walked away with the alpha by her side.

My eyes scanned around for my mother but I could not spot her or Freya.

"Stop looking around and let's go back home. It's late and our wedding night is tonight." Oren growled and grabbed my hand.

In the lavish carriage, I sat with Oren, whose face was hard and cold. He turned to face me, his eyes flashing with contempt. "You may have been forced to marry me but do not think for a moment that I will tolerate your insolence." He growled. "You are nothing but a political pawn, an omega with no worry beyond what I deem fit."

My heart raced with fears and rage, I kept my peace , my silence a protest against Oren's cruelty.

Soon the carriage stopped in front of the palace gates and Oren dragged me to his sleeping chambers.

"What are you doing?" I asked, my voice shaking with fear and rage.

"Come," Oren demanded, his grip on my arm tightening. "It is time we consummate this god forsaken union."

As we entered the chamber, I felt desperate and would do anything to escape the impending danger ahead.

"Take off your dress," Oren commanded, his voice cold and harsh. "It is time to fulfill your duties as my wife and the breeder of this pack."

"Stay away from me.." I mumbled and tried to free myself from him.

"You talk too much." Oren said and ripped my dress, exposing my vulnerable body to his gaze. "Finally," he growled, his voice thick with lust. "Now I can claim what is mine."

He pushed me to bed, his hands gripping my arms so tightly that I was sure they would leave bruises on my skin. I closed my eyes, not even trying to beg just steeling myself for the violation Oren was going to unleash on me.

As Oren forced himself upon me, I felt like I was being torn apart. I felt like I was nothing but an object that would be used and dumped at will.

My sobs and cries only made Oren laugh.

"You should thank me,"he taunted, his tongue licking my neck. "Without me,you would be nothing but a pathetic cursed omega, rejected by the pack. But with me you will have a new purpose and all you have to do is shut your mouth up and do as I say."

I closed my eyes, trying to block out the pain and humiliation but it was no use.

This was my new reality and there was no escape for me.

Oren pulled back, his eyes gleaming with a sadistic glee.

"You know,my father the alpha of this great pack has always been disappointed in me. But... that will change soon. I think he will be quite impressed when he sees how I have dealt with our little problem and got him the one alliance he always wanted." He said, a cruel smile twisting his lips.

My heart jumped to my throat, a sense of dread filling my chest.

I knew he was up to no good, and the part about an alliance only made things worse.

I did not like the sound of that.

"What do you mean?" What do you mean by getting an alliance?" I asked, my voice trembling.

Oren chuckled again, his fingers tracing down my cheek.

"Let us just say that you will not be serving this pack in just one way... you will be serving this pack in other ways too." Oren said.

I gulped.

"Ever heard of the name Lucius?"

I froze, that name...belonged to only man...a man who was known to be ruthless... "Lucius?" I repeated.
