The Unwanted Bride

"You never looked at me as myself. You never treated me as a spouse because another woman is in your mind when we're together. Every time you say 'I love you,' with every embrace and kiss, it's her you're thinking of, not me. You loved me not because you loved me, but because you were keeping my sibling alive within me." Certainly! Here is the text translated into English: --- "Damn you!! Put me down!!" I kicked as hard as I can. I even pulled his hair and bit his shoulders so that he will let me go. "Stop it Van! You might fall!" he protested. But I tried even harder to free myself. I kept screaming for him to let me go, but he remained deaf. "You monster!! Manipulative jerk!! I hate you!! I really, really hate you!!" I shouted. I was on the verge of tears due to the extreme anger I felt towards him. Suddenly, he pushed me into a room and dropped me onto the sofa. Before I could even stand, he immediately went on top of me and pinned my arms. "Get off me!!" I wriggled my arms away. He closed his eyes and pressed his body closer to mine. My eyes widened when I felt 'him' coming to life. "Xander?" panic laced my voice. He put his forehead against mine. "God, I missed you so much Vannah." He said, almost sobbing. I remained silent for a while. "Let me go Xander." His grip tightened. He shook his head and buried his face in my neck. "I can't. Savannah, I can't. I can't let you go." I exhaled. Man, this is so frustrating. "Xander, please. I don't want this anymore. I'm tired of you. I'm tired of all of this. Just, let me go." He looked at me wide-eyed. "No Savannah! No! You can't get tired. No! You can't leave. I can't bear another day without you, I'll go crazy. Please, just don't leave me." I saw a tear fall from his eyes. I closed my eyes. No Savannah. Don't let yourself be fooled. Don't repeat your mistake from seven years ago. "Savannah.." he called. I just stared at him. I tried to push him with all my might and I succeeded. I sat there while he was trying to reach me. "Stop it Xander! What's so hard to understand about me not wanting this!" He was taken aback by what I said. He turned pale and seemed to have no strength to lower his hand. "I'm sorry. For everything that I said to you--" I cut him off and stood up. "No. Don't ask for forgiveness. I understand. I understand it all, Xander." My voice broke so I paused. I took a deep breath as I felt the same pain resurface. "I perfectly understood all the things that you said that night." "Savannah.." "I know, I know that you married me not because you love me. You married me because you're in love with my twin, right?" "NO!!" he tried to hug me but I stepped back. "Don't touch me." "Savannah, please, let me explain." He pleaded but I just shook my head. "Your explanation is seven years late Xander. Everything is broken beyond repair." I shook my head and reached for the door. He grabbed my arms and hugged me tightly. "No. I won't give up, Savannah. I won't give you up without putting up a damn fight! Remember, we're still married. You're still my wife." I laughed bitterly when he said that. I pushed him away and looked him straight in the eyes. "I was never your wife Xander. I am just your substitute bride."

Chapter 1 1

Chapter One

SAVANNAH

"PIER?! Where the hell are you?! Come out here?!" I shouted at my best friend's doorstep. The door opened, and I saw Ericka.

"Vannie? Is there a problem?" she asked me, but I went straight inside.

"Where's Pier?"

"He's still asleep, why?"

I headed straight to his room and slammed the door. I quickly pulled off his blanket and covered his face with a pillow.

"Oh my gosh, Van!! Don't kill him!" Ericka screamed when she saw Pier struggling. I removed the pillow and stared at him while he caught his breath.

"You idiot!! Do you want me dead?!" Pier shouted.

"I will really kill you, Pier! How can you be so careless?!!"

"What did I do? Girl, I was just sleeping and then you're blaming me for something I didn't know?! What's your problem?!"

I wiped my hands on my face. I looked at the two of them. Ericka looked really worried while Pier seemed a little irritated and bothered.

"They're sending me back to the Philippines," I whispered, but it was loud enough for both of them to hear.

"What?!"

"Really?"

They both shouted at the same time. I nodded and took an envelope, handing it to Pier.

"You signed a contract, Pier. You told them our agency would send our top model there in exchange for the ad campaign contract," I said, my voice trembling. Pier snatched the contract and examined it.

"You're the top model, Vannie," Ericka said, almost to herself. I looked at her as she realized what was really happening around us.

"I didn't sign any agreement about sending you back to those assholes, Van. Trust me," Pier said as he scanned the paper.

"Your secretary has your electronic signature. Maybe she signed it?" Ericka suggested. Pier turned pale.

"You gave your secretary your e-signature? Pier, that's insane!"

"I didn't know she'd sign this. I didn't even know we had an offer from Xan--" he stopped and looked at me.

"You didn't know?" he shook his head. I looked at Ericka, and she shook her head too.

"He's already found you, Savannah," Pier said. My stomach sank at hearing that.

XANDER

"How was it?" I asked my spy in California.

"Mr. Pier Rodriguez has already signed the papers, Sir. Their company will send Mrs. Montreal--"

"Mrs. Montreal," I corrected him. He cleared his throat and continued.

"Their company will send Mrs. Montreal just as you wish."

I couldn't help but smile.

"Well done. And what about the pictures?"

"They are in your email, Sir."

I opened my computer and looked at them.

"Anything else, Sir?"

"None. Thanks," and I turned off my phone. I opened the email my spy sent me.

The mail contained pictures of my wife while she is still in California. I immediately printed them out and placed them on my desk to examine them closely.

There were pictures of her taking pictures. So, she's also a photographer? I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride when I learned that. I touched her face in one of the pictures. She was smiling while talking to Pier and Ericka. I knew both of them, they've been friends since they were kids and also my wife.

My intercom beeped, interrupting my examination of the photos. I answered it immediately.

"Kathy?" I asked my secretary.

"Sir, your father is outside. He wants to talk to you--" The door to my office flung open, and in came my father.

"Where is my Vannie?" he asked, excited.

"Chill, Dad," I said, amused. He sat down immediately and took some of the pictures.

"Oh my Vannie. She really became even more beautiful. Seems like she's thriving away from you," Dad said, grinning mischievously. I snatched the picture from him and hid it.

"Come on, Dad. How supportive of you."

Dad chuckled and threw the paperweight at me.

"I love Savannah because she loves my child dearly. But my idiotic son threw her away."

I couldn't react to what Dad said. I know. What happened between us is my fault. I hurt her.

"That's why I'm doing this, Dad. To have her back," I told him. Dad just looked at me and shook his head.

"I doubt that, Alexander. After all you've done to her, I think she's far from accepting you again."

I felt a pang of pain when I heard my father say that. But I won't give up. I can't lose her.

"I have to go. I have a meeting. " Dad left me there. I looked at my ring finger. I'm still wearing our ring. I touched it and smiled.

"I'm going to have you again, Savannah. By hook or by crook, you'll be mine again. Mine. Just mine."

SAVANNAH

"Be careful, okay? Keep your distance from that bastard!" Ericka said while fixing my luggage. Pier just sat at the edge of my bed.

"Are you sure you'll be alright? You really don't need us there?" Pier asked me. I shook my head. I wasn't in the mood to talk. Grandpa just called me, saying that our family's private jet was on its way to pick me up. And up until now, I'm still annoyed because they're sending me back. Even Grandpa and Grandma joined in on that demon's scheme!

I shot up from the bed when I heard a knock on my door. I stood up and saw three guys dressed in black, with the Montreal emblem on their collars.

"Lady Savannah. The jet is ready," the tallest of them said. The other two entered and took my luggage. The other man stepped back.

"Take care, Vannie. Call us when you get there," Ericka said. I went to her and hugged her. I started sniffing. I was about to cry.

"Savannah Mikaella! Stop it! Don't cry!" Pier scolded me. I went to him, and he hugged me.

"Bro, I'm scared," I told him. He hissed and hugged me tighter.

"Hey! That's not allowed! You're not the same sweet girl from seven years ago! You're not weak anymore! So don't be scared!" he shook me. I wiped my tears away and smiled at him.

"Just three months, Vannie. After that, you can come back here as if nothing happened," Ericka said while caressing my back. I nodded.

"Take care of things here, okay?" I smiled at both of them. I followed the guy in black. He took me to the helipad of our building. I looked around and saw the jet. I squinted when I noticed that it was a different jet.

Alevannah

I exhaled sharply. He really combined our names? The nerve of that guy!

"Lady Savannah?" the guy approached me and helped me get on the plane. He started doing some safety checks. I put my headphones on and closed my eyes. I wish I could have a great night's sleep and that all of this is just a nightmare.

I felt someone rubbing my cheeks. I opened my eyes. I literally jumped out of my seat.

"Savannah, dear... how are you?" Mommy Alessa asked me. I blinked. She hugged me tight, and that's when I finally came back to myself.

"Mom..."

"I am so glad you are back, Savannah." I heard her choke on her tears. I patted her back. I heard a door creak, and I saw Daddy Alfonso rushing in.

"There you are!" he energetically shouted when he saw me. Dad hasn't changed. I laughed and went to him for a hug.

"Daddy."

"Vannie. My Vannie. I thought you wouldn't come back," he accused me. I laughed.

"I won't be staying long."

"Are you going back to California?" Mommy asked me. Dad also looked surprised.

"But why?" he asked.

"My life is no longer here in the Philippines, Dad. It's in California now."

"But Savannah--" Mom said. I looked at her and smiled.

"Mom, sorry. I don't want to stay here. I also know that no one wants me to stay here, except for my grandparents and the two of you."

Mommy shook her head and took my hand.

"That's not true. Xander wanted you to stay."

I scoffed. I shook my head.

"Xander and I are already over, Ma. He's the one who sent me away. So why would he want me to stay?" I just couldn't find the logic. Xander never wanted me. He only loves Sabina, and will love her.

"Because you're my wife. You should stay wherever your husband is."

I looked towards the door. And there I saw him.

The man I loved first.

The man I married.

The man who loves my sister.

My husband.

Alexander Montreal.

Chapter 2 2

CHAPTER TWO

XANDER

I placed the papers down when I heard a soft knock on my office door. I signaled for the person to come in.

"Sir, Ms. Savannah is already here," Kathy announced. I stood up and quickly went outside.

My heart was pounding so fast. I was nervous about how she would react when we see each other. Would she hug me? Or would she kiss me? Damn! I might go crazy.

I took the paper from my side pocket. I wrote down everything I wanted to say to her the moment we meet. With trembling hands, I read it again.

"Xander and I are already over, Ma. Siya pa nga ang nag paalis sa akin eh. So why would he want me to stay?" I froze in my spot when I heard Vannah's voice. I stiffened when she said we are already over. I crumpled the paper and went inside the jet.

"Because you're my wife. Dapat manatili ka kung nasaan ang asawa mo," I told her. She turned to me, and she seemed slightly surprised to see me.

"Xander, anak. Hindi mo man lang ba kakamustahin ang asawa mo?" Dad told me. He gave me a pointed look and then pulled Mom.

"We'll leave you two for now," Mom said before she ushered Dad out. We were left alone inside the jet.

The silence was suffocating. None of us dared to break it.

"Vannah."

"Xander."

She faced me. Dad was right, she looked even more beautiful. I clenched my fist to stop myself from going to her and crushing my lips against hers.

"Please, go ahead," I said. She approached the table and sat down.

"I was looking for my luggage. Where is it?" she asked. I raised an eyebrow at her words.

"In our house. Where else would I put it?"

She laughed.

"Our house? We have one?"

I swallowed.

"Vannah--"

"Please, send it to my hotel. I'll just text Mom to let her know where I'm staying." Then she turned her back on me.

"Vannah, you should go back home," I firmly said. She turned to face me and glared.

"Who are you to tell me what to do?"

SAVANNAH

"Who are you to tell me what to do?!" I almost shouted. He just clenched his jaw and looked at me.

"I am your husband," he said coldly. He stepped closer, and I instinctively took a step back.

"No, you're not," I insisted. He gritted his teeth and pulled my waist.

"You're still the same stubborn Savannah I knew before," he said. I tried to free myself from him, pushing him away, but he was stronger.

"What do you think you're doing, Xander?" I looked at him.

"I am making things right."

I shook my head, and with all my strength, I pushed him away. I was finally free and I quickly distanced myself from him.

"Stop this. Stop whatever you're doing," I told him, then I left him. I walked away from him, away from the man who broke me seven years ago.

"We're getting married!" Sabina shrieked. I looked at her, lowering the book I was reading.

"What?"

She showed me her ring finger.

"Xander proposed to me! Savannah!! He's going to marry me!" She shook me while laughing like a maniac. I forced a smile and hugged her.

"Congratulations, Sabina," I said. But deep inside, my heart was breaking.

"I'm going to tell Mom." Then she left. I was left alone in our room. I quickly went to the bathroom and cried my heart out.

For the past six years, Xander and I became the best of friends. But he only saw me as a friend because ever since we were kids, he's always been into Sabina. I never had a chance to tell him how I felt. I was scared. I was afraid that I would ruin the friendship we had, so I just endured it quietly.

And now, they're getting married? I've completely lost hope that Xander will ever love me back.

I cried and cried. I didn't even know how long I'd been in the bathroom. I hoped that after crying, all the pain I felt would go away.

I woke up feeling a little disoriented. I checked my bedside clock and saw that it was already seven in the evening. I stood up and nearly stumbled when I saw Xander sitting at the edge of my bed.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I shouted. I instinctively held my chest and slowly moved away from the bed.

"Watching my wife sleep," he said, his gaze fixed on me.

"Go away," I told him. I grabbed some clothes and headed straight for the bathroom, but he blocked my way.

"Are you taking a shower?"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, now you care?"

"Let's shower together," he suggested. He started unbuttoning his shirt. I grabbed his hand and forcefully stopped him.

"Stop that!"

He grinned.

"Why? It's not like it's anything new to you."

I kicked him. My face was now red. My heart was racing.

"Xander, this is not funny!" I started to panic when he unbuckled his belt.

"We're just going to take a shower. We're not going to do anything else. You're quite imaginative," he said, laughing. I pushed him into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.

"You go ahead and shower, you jerk!"

I could hear his hearty laughter from inside. Oh, if I could just strangle him!

Chapter 3 3

Chapter 3

"You bitch! How dare you! How dare you Savannah!"

She just kept screaming while she smashed all our things in the room. I continued crying as I tried to approach her.

"Xander, please... let me explain--"

"FUCK YOU!! FUCK OFF MY LIFE!!" he frustratedly said. He quickly grabbed scissors from our cabinet. I was alarmed when I saw the scissors. I thought he was going to hurt himself. But I was the one hurt by what he did.

He tore our wedding picture off the wall and threw it onto the bed. He took the scissors and started erasing my face from it.

"This isn't Sabina. She's not the one. It's not her." He repeated it over and over. With each cut of the scissors on the photo, it felt like my heart was being sliced.

I slumped and quietly left our room. I slowly leaned against the wall and cried.

I am crying because I know, that even though he is my husband, he will never be mine. Because for him, I stole him from Sabina. I took him away from the person he will love.

I just kept crying when suddenly the door to our room opened again. His eyes scanned the room as if searching for something, and they only stopped when he saw me. He immediately pulled me up and dragged me into the library.

"Xan--" he pushed me against the wall. I winced in pain as my hip hit the wall. I looked at him, and he was glaring at me with intense anger. He grabbed my chin harshly and made me look at him. I winced in pain but he didn't care. His eyes were full of anger, hate, and lust. I started trembling, thinking about what he wanted to do to me now.

"You are a one dirty, slut!" he said. I was about to defend myself when he crushed his lips against mine. He was kissing me so forcefully that it felt like my lips were bleeding.

He grabbed my hair and pulled me towards his table. He quickly pushed me down.

"I will fuck you hard, Savannah. I will fuck you until you feel the pain I am feeling now! I will fill you until you regret replacing Sabina! I will do to you whatever I want to do to you! I won't stop until you tell me where your sister is. Do you understand?!" he shouted. I jumped at his scream.

"I don't know where Sabina is..." I told him. His eyes narrowed even further, and he tightened his grip on my hair.

"Xander...I'm hurting.." I told him but he wasn't listening. He is not Xander. He is not the Xander that I loved. The man in front of me is a monster. A savage monster.

"You think you're pitiful? Think again Savannah! You are not pitiful! You're annoying!" he said then pushed me over to his sofa. I ignored the pain I felt on my left shoulder and forced myself to stand up. I was about to run away when he attended me and asked me to go downstairs.

I tried hard to calm and control myself when I saw him unbuckling his belt. I tried to push him but he removed his neck tie and tied my hand.

"Xander...please don't.."

But he didn't listen. He removed his suit and then his pants and boxers. There was no gentleness in him when he approached me. he viciously grabbed my waist and tore the clothes I was wearing. He also destroyed my bra and panties.

He held my chin and kissed me harshly. I felt him poking my thighs. I looked at his manhood and I was eaten by fear when I saw how huge and long it was. i know it will hurt, but it will hurt more because Xander is angry and he will not be gentle.

He inserted his tongue inside my mouth and we both groaned. He placed himself on top of me and grabbed both of my breasts. I cursed myself when I wrapped my legs around him and responded to his kisses. I should push him because I'm afraid of him, but damn! I love this man so much!

I moaned when he started to kiss my breast and sucked it.

"Oooh..." I couldn't stop the growling that came out of me. He alternately sucked my nips. He made me stand and brought me to the table. He placed me there and started kissing my neck. He traced my jawline and started planting marks on it. He removed his necktie on my hands and threw it.

"X-xander!! Oh my gosh!" I was very close to his neck when I felt one of his fingers inside me. He traced my clit and pumped it inside me like there is no tomorrow. I screamed even more when he added it. I moaned as I arched my back.

He stopped then stared at me. he grabbed my hair again and kissed me.

"Aaaaaah Xander!!" I screamed in pain because of his sudden intrusion, he was not even halfway. He stopped when he felt my barrier. I felt as if I was being ripped in two.

"That surprised me." he devilishly said. he groaned and grabbed both of my breasts.

"I tried to tell you but----oh my!" I was stopped by a hard thrust from him. He held my shoulders and wrapped my legs around him. He rammed himself inside and out of me as if there is no tomorrow. I was very close to him. I am now his. I am now fully his. He has marked me. He's got everything from me.

The pain I was feeling was replaced by pleasures. The whole room was filled with our moans of our moans. I forced my eyes to open and I looked at Xander, his eyes were closed and his mouth was shaped with a perfect O.

"Fuck!" he growled. He started to move faster and deeper. The table started to become unsteady. I cried out his name as I felt an overwhelming sensation in me. I exploded but he didn't stop. He kept on banging me hard until I was lying on the table. He buried himself on me with each powerful thrust.

"Savannah.. I'm coming." He said. And with a final strong thrust, he spilled himself inside me.

I stayed in that place with great weakness. Xander is still inside me and he was looking at me while he is catching his breath.

"I hate you." He suddenly said. I was too stunned and I felt I was about to cry when he started moving again.

I closed my eyes as I felt him inside me. That was all I was to him. A sex slave. A battered lover. A partner in bed. A substitute wife.

"Vannie, are you all right?" Mom asked me. I looked at him and everyone is looking worriedly at me. I felt Xander's hand on mine.

"Why are you crying?" he reached for my cheeks but I shook his hand and continued eating. I should not go with this man. I regret being in this house again. It brings me back to the past.

"Savannah..." he still called me, but I ignored him. Tonight is a family dinner. His parents are here, my grandparents, and much to my surprise, even my parents are here.

"Is something bothering you, dear?" my mom asked me. I smiled at her and shook my head. My mom is the most wonderful person in the world. And I missed her. But I really don't feel well being in this place, so I can't entertain her.

"Rest for a while," Dad said. I glanced at him and he was intently looking at me, his face stiff and devoid of any emotions.

"Are you tired?"

I looked at Xander and shook my head. I sighed.

"I want to go home."

I heard him sigh.

"We are already home, Savannah."

I glared at him. My voice grew louder.

"I TOLD YOU FOR THE NTH TIME THAT THIS IS NOT MY HOME!!" I shouted. Everybody at the table fell silent. They were all looking at the two of us. Xander clenched his jaw with my sudden outburst. He was about to say something when my phone suddenly rang.

"Excuse me." I didn't wait for the elders' response and went outside. Memories flashed as I walked through the garden.

"Hello? Pier?" I said.

"This isn't Ninong Pier." I immediately smiled when I heard her sweet voice.

"Oh, my bad. Hello, sweetie. Why aren't you asleep yet?" I asked her.

I heard her groan.

"Mama, it's morning here in California," she said with a laugh. Oh yeah, I forgot.

"Sorry, babe. I forgot about it. Did you just call?"

"Just because. I just missed you. When are you coming back?"

"Soon." I heard her sigh. There she goes again. She makes me remember him when she sighs.

"When is 'soon'?" she persisted. She's so persistent.

"Very soon." Because even I don't know when I'll be able to go home. I heard Pier and Ericka's voices in the background.

"ALEXA! Why did you call your Mama? You're going to use up all my load again!" Pier shouted. I laughed when I heard my daughter giggle.

"Sorry, Ninong. Sandro gave it to me while you were sleeping."

"You two..." I could imagine Pier running his hands through his natural red hair.

"Baby, where's Sandro?" I asked her. She giggled again.

"He's outside, Ma. He's playing in the snow."

I smiled fondly.

"Okay, give the phone back to Ninong now. I'll call you again."

"Yes, Ma! Love you!"

I heard a kissing sound in the background. It made my heart melt.

"And I love you too. Send my kisses to Sandro, okay?"

"Yep! Bye!"

And she ended the call. I turned my back and went back to the dinner. I noticed that Xander wasn't in his seat.

After a while, Xander returned and sat beside me again. I looked at him, and his face was grim and dark. What happened to him?

"Savannah," Dad called me. I looked at him. He took a sip of his coffee and looked at me.

"I have to ask you something," he began. I raised an eyebrow.

"And what is that, Dad?"

I saw everybody hold their breath, which surprised me.

"I want you and Xander to work things out."

And I swear, I felt my jaw drop upon hearing that.
