It's a fresh day conveying new hopes and aspirations. It's barely 8 am, yet the weather condition was already heated despite the turbulent heavy downpour that occurred the previous day.
Just like his usual morning routine, Alpha Lottana was seated happily in his beautiful garden, admiring his beautiful edifice and reminiscing his journey so far since becoming the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack.
The Blood Pack is a magnificent and attractive edification, constructed with fortified gigantic walls that usually prevent opposition wolves from trooping into the royal Castle unannounced.
While Alpha Lottana was seated in his beautiful garden, meditating and taking pleasure, a strange person found her way to the Alpha's quarters without his knowledge. No one saw her walk inside despite the massive male wolves safeguarding the castle walls. It was as though she appeared with the aid of a whirlwind. Channeling her gaze at the environment, she sniffed the atmosphere and shook her head in pity. "Hmm! This isn't nice.
Drastic attention needs to be taken. I smell danger. The real danger that may wreck the Alpha's lineage lurks around,"
"Halt! Where are you going? I need you to run an errand for me."
She points at a staff passing by.
"No, I'm not free. I'm so starving right now. I just need to get something to eat before I perish. starved me to sleep last night," the young girl suspected to be Alpha Lottana's staff responded.
"Your food? That can wait. You can do that some other time. But right now, I need to speak with the Alpha. It's an emergency. I bring him a message that's more important than feeding your empty stomach. Now depart immediately without hesitation before I lose it completely," Arinidia, the moon guardian ordered but the staff refused and insisted on being fed before running errands for the moon guardian even when Alpha Lottana was involved.
"You must be a fool to think I'll ever let you go. How dare you defile my orders? Go call the Alpha this moment if you don't wanna see the other side of me. I can be very dangerous. I'll ensure the Alpha punishes you severely for disobeying me. The choice is yours to make. I'm not gonna put the pressure on you. I'm not asking you, this is me telling you to do this and you're gonna obey me," she threatened the chef, sending shivers down her spine. This time, the domestic staff obeyed and immediately stormed to the garden to fetch the Alpha.
"Are you blind or has the moon goddess seized your sight? Can't you see I'm observing my quiet time? How dare you interrupt my hour? Have you suddenly lost respect for the Alpha's privacy? Now I get it. You're tired of your duty. You want a dismissal?" Alpha Lottana yelled at his staff after hearing that his attention was needed at the pack.
"I apologize for invading your privacy. It wasn't intentional. But the moon guardian sounded so urgent. She wouldn't leave until you showed up. You may wanna consider her request, my Alpha."
"The moon guardian? What does she want at this hour? Isn't it too early to visit? Hmm! You go tell the moon guardian I'll be there shortly. You can leave," Lottana instructed.
But she demands to see you immediately, my Alpha,"
"One more word from you and that's the end. I'll dismiss you without pay. That's not all. I'll ensure no one associates with you in this pack. Now get the fuck out of here," Lottana threatened him. Immediately, she took to her heels and dashed back to the moon guardian.
"I just spoke with the Alpha. He'll join you shortly. Your message was delivered. Can I leave now?"
"Hmm" nodding her head in affirmation, the moon guardian replied.
"What a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting to see you this early.
What is conveyed by the Moon guardian to my pack at this hour? We all know you rarely visit, but when you do, it calls for swift attention. I want to believe this isn't a friendly visit, right? What message does the moon goddess have for me this time," walking majestically to his sacred throne and accompanied by his BETA, Durella, Alpha Lottana tossed the question at Arindia, the moon guardian. He can't seem to recall the last time she visited the pack, let alone at this hour. His instincts tell him there is a situation on the ground that requires drastic attention, but he just can't decipher. Hopefully, the moon guardian would spill.
Good to see you again, Alpha Lottana. You barely even visit my cave. You may not be far from the truth, Alpha. Wait for it! You have plenty of time to ask questions. Smart of you to know I rarely visit, but when I do, then it calls for urgent attention. I doubt you're ready for what's coming your way."
"Coming my way? You're making me feel scared. I can't seem to comprehend what you're talking about. Please be seated, let's dwell on this extensively. What do you care for? I could ask my staff to get you something. I'm completely lost here. What are you talking about? A little explanation would do." Lottana was puzzled. He strives to discern the aura hovering around him, but he just can't wrap his head around it.
"So generous of you Alpha. I'm indeed honored by your act of generosity. But I prefer to stand and divulge the divine message sent by Selene, the moon goddess. I didn't come here to be entertained like a special guest. I was just sent by the moon goddess to deliver an important message. Once that is accomplished, I'll leave." Politely, she refused. Narrowing her gaze into his blue eyes, she frowned and looked away.
Hmm! Quite impressive for a wordsmith.
Your words convey profound utterances that could only be understood by the wise. I'm afraid I cannot understand the in-depth meaning. I am not loving the suspense, either. Please speak and quit playing with my emotions," Lottana sparked outrageously. He doesn't appreciate being kept in suspense for too long. Especially in a situation like this involving the moon goddess.
From the tone of her expression, Lottana could discern an impending storm lurking in his pack. But whatever that is, he's willing to find out.
Now you're beginning to act like your omegas; so weak and timid. You're the Alpha of the Blood pack. You're the strongest of them all. Why shiver? Don't be scared. Be courageous and patient, my Alpha. When it comes to issues of the supernatural, absolute patience is required to aid easy comprehension," Arindia made an upraised hand to calm Lottana and allay his fears.
"Then speak! Why take forever to spill it already? It's not that difficult, is it? You've been here for over an hour, yet you haven't disclosed anything. I'm gradually losing my patience. Argh!" He flared and frowned at the prolonged silence. He doesn't understand how long it takes to disclose a message.
"Fine! I'll speak before it gets worse. I can see your rage. I know your anger is like a burning furnace." The moon guardian conceded and sighed. She paused a bit and continued. "Many years ago, your grandfather raped an innocent woman to death amidst her plea for mercy.
Before her death, she cast a spell on your late grandfather's generation. I'm afraid you're gonna die before turning 40 Alpha Lottana." The moon guardian unleashed the shocking bombshell that nearly had the Alpha pee in his panties.
"This is nothing but a mad joke. It sounds like some fairy tale told to kids beneath gigantic trees. I refused to be misinformed.
Tell me this story isn't real. How come no one told me about it? Neither my father nor my Father mentioned it to me. Why would they hide such sensitive information from me?" Lottana questioned and doubted the authentication of the revelation.
"It wasn't their fault. Your grandfather lost his life trying to break the curse. He couldn't tell his son, your father because he was trying to protect him from fear of the unknown. Now the curse has been passed to future generations, including you. If you fail to act fast, I'm afraid your lineage will entirely be wiped out from the earth's surface. Royalty will stop existing from your lineage." she added.
Alpha Lottana was still in shock and disbelief. He didn't find the information quite worthy and considered it a mere hallucination. But after deep thought, he came to realize the moon guardian was right after all. His father died at 35, while his grandfather got struck by lightning a few weeks before his 40th birthday. Now, Alpha just turned 35 a few weeks ago. His death is fast approaching, too, if he fails to swing into action real quick.
"Oh, no. I know that look on your face. Do not be dismayed, for there is a solution to your problem." She allayed his fears and conveyed his hopes of staying alive.
"Wow! Finally, what a relief knowing I still got a shot at life again. At some point, I thought I was gonna die today. What's the solution? Please tell me. I wanna experience longevity. I haven't accomplished anything yet. I could give up an arm right now to stay alive." Lottana spoke hurriedly as the situation sent shivers down his spine. He hasn't been this scared in his entire life.
"Don't make empty promises, my Alpha. Be careful of what you wish for." She cautioned.
"Empty promises? You have no idea what this is all about. I'm being condemned to die untimely. How do you explain? You would do worse if you were in my shoes. Forget about me. What's the solution? I'm curious to know."
Hold on a sec while I converse with the moon guardian," For a few minutes, she was quiet. Her eyes widened and turned red. Narrowing her gaze into the dark clouds, she shouted in a mysterious voice. "All hail Selene, the Moon Goddess. Alpha Lottana has sought a lasting solution to his problem. He shouldn't suffer for a crime he knows nothing about. What can be done to break the curse?"
"Thank you, the moon goddess. I've always known you're merciful and considerate," Arindia nodded her head in affirmation.
"Your freedom all depends on you. Are you ready to pay the price?"
"I'm down for whatever. I can pay whatever price it is," Lottana replied with confidence.
"Good! I admire your courage. This was the Alpha I knew. The moon goddess has instructed you to go find a teenage girl and make her your bride. Once she bears you a son, the curse will be broken. But, you need to tread carefully to avoid the wrath of the moon goddess. Good luck in your quest," Arindia vanished after revealing the solution to his concerns.
Yet again, Lottana was confused and needed answers to the thousand questions lingering in his heart. Placing his hand below his jaw, he ponders, flinching at the tone of his voice. "Why do I need to find a teenage girl? Is there no other way?"
____
"What's wrong with you lately, Alpha Lottana? Your food would get cold If you keep pacing around. You just need to eat something. Remember you starved yourself to bed last night. Is that your new routine? You haven't eaten anything since the last time the moon guardian visited. Is there something I should know?"
Durella questioned his Alpha with keen interest.
"Food? I don't consider it important anymore. Why should I eat when my heart is troubled, huh? No, you tell me. I'm sure you saw what happened a while ago. Perhaps I should remind you. I've been condemned to death for a curse I know nothing about. Don't you get it? My future lies in the hands of a teenage girl.
Where the hell am I going to find her?" he yelled at Durella, his BETA.
The night was fast-paced and Lottana is still restless and clueless on how to solve his situation.
. Ever since the moon guardian revealed the hidden, Lottana suddenly lost his appetite. He didn't quite believe food was essential when his life was in ruin.
"I know how you feel right now. But one thing I'm certain about is that finding a teenage girl isn't difficult. With your position as the Alpha of this pack, no one would resist the opportunity of joining the Royal family," Durella raised his hopes high again.
"Hmm! You seem so confident about this issue. How do I intend to work out, I've got no clue about this shit? I've for an idea. I want you to go out tomorrow and go find me a teenage girl to bear me a son. I need to fix this urgently. I'm currently running out of time. I'm sure you don't want to lose your Alpha to sudden death, do you?"
"Of course, not. You still have many years ahead of you. Death ain't for nothing on you. You'll reign forever," Durella assured.
"Exactly what I wanted to hear. I don't wanna die anytime soon. I don't even have a child yet. No family or anything. I'm just alone! Now, if you want me to achieve that, you'd go out there and find me a teenage girl." Lottana ordered Durella and dismissed him.
"Yes, my Alpha. May your wish be granted as I embark on the quest of finding you the chosen one to liberate you and break the death curse." Durella bowed to show his respect and vacated Lottana's chambers.
*************
A new day has emerged. The day Lottana has been yearning for. For every minute that goes by, his soul burns in pain and seeks a solution to his problem. He's quite aware of how difficult it is to find a teenage girl who would accept his demand, but somehow he still believes the moon goddess won't watch and do nothing while he suffers condemnation.
*********
The rays of the morning light flickered into Durella's room and interrupted his sleep. "It's morning already. I need to prepare for the task ahead. "He tossed off the bed and prepared himself for the difficult tasks that awaited him. The longevity of the Alpha now rests on his shoulder. If he fails to return home without positive feedback, he might as well start preparing for the Alpha's funeral. After getting dressed, he stepped outside to knock on Lottana's door.
"I know it's you already. Stop playing games. Tell me what you seek. Wait a minute. But I thought I sent you a task. What are you doing here? Proceed with it immediately. I don't have the luxury of time and patience. You need to come back home with her," Lottana rudely said, without granting Durella permission to speak. What Durella has to say doesn't matter to the Alpha. He just wants positive feedback.
"I know right? I just came to tell you before I depart. I'm ready for the adventure ahead. Hopefully, I'll be back with positive feedback." Durella disclosed.
"Go in peace! Blessings and favor shall you find in the sight of Selene, the moon goddess,"
It's quite challenging to find a teenage girl who would be willing to accept the Alpha's outrageous offer. In the same pack where teenage girls are subjected to promiscuity.
Durella was aware of this weird fact, yet he agreed to risk it all for this dreadful mission. He wasn't going to sit back and watch his Alpha suffer for what he knows nothing about.
It was 9:30 a.m., yet everywhere was deserted with no traders, hunters, or passersby found on the street. The Blood Pack isn't known for absolute decorum or devoid of people on a morning like this. It appears as though every parent deliberately locked their daughters to make Durella's task more difficult than it already seems.
Far and wide, Durella journeyed, yet he couldn't find any teenage girl to reach a compromise with. He motioned to different houses and presented the Alpha's mouthwatering proposal. Yet, he was unable to find a family to negotiate with. No family was willing to give out their daughter to the cruelest of Alpha. Not everyone was aware of the curse, yet they refused the life-changing opportunity of becoming the Alpha's bride.
"I didn't sign up for this. It has been difficult for me. I never for once imagined it would turn out this way. What will I do now? I gave the Alpha my word. I can't return to the pack with negativity. No, it's never gonna happen. Something needs to be done. I must salvage the situation." Durella soliloquizes beneath in the woods. He has lost all hope of finding a teenage girl. The night is spreading so fast like wildfire as darkness encloses the atmosphere.
Just when he thought of giving up already, he heard some strange footsteps around him. Without hesitation, he stood from the ground, sniffed the atmosphere pointing his sword at an invisible creature. "Who the heck are you? Why are you hiding like a coward? Reveal yourself and wrestle with me to a fight if you're so courageous. And I'd slit your throat with my sword while I watch you slowly bleed to death.
"What an awesome performance. You should consider a career in acting. Please save it, BETA, Durella. You might need the energy later but certainly not now. I'm not here to fight you. I just wanna talk. You might just need my help. So take it slow." A masculine voice spoke and strolled behind him.
"Talk? Why would I wanna have a word with you? I don't even know you. There's absolutely nothing to talk about. I don't even know you. Who are you, and how did you find me? Speak now before I feed your remains to the vultures." Durella threatened with full rage and bloodstained eyes.
"Stop worrying about my identity, it doesn't matter.
I understand your rage. If I were asked to find Alpha , a teenage girl, I'd be more furious than you. If you keep acting this way, you might go back to the Alpha without positive news. You shouldn't be a stranger to the Alpha's rage. A friendly piece of advice for you. Stay calm" the stranger added and kept Durella in suspense.
"This is unbelievable. Am I dreaming?
How did you do..." Durella took a deep breath and widened his mouth in astonishment.
"I know that look on your face.
Are you surprised how I found out? I'll tell you. Oh, yes, you did disclose it. Let's just say I had my ears on the ground when you stopped in the neighborhood today, asking parents if they could allow their daughters to marry the Alpha and bear him a son," And I bet the Alpha will be inclined to risk a fortune to find this beautiful teenage girl, right? Hahaha!" The young man laughed mischievously and poked fun at Durella.
"You won't dare do that. Have you suddenly lost respect for the Alpha? Alpha Lottana is gonna pay a dime to have her. She should be giving it out for free. I mean, It's every girl's dream to become the Alpha's bride, and you know that,"
