The Unforgiven

Elijah's POV

Just as Luc sat down to eat; one of the guards alerted him that we had a lord of demons and rogues approaching our borders. They said that they were chasing a human girl and that she appeared as if she had been beaten and tortured. He informed us and we headed to the southeast end of the territory that they were headed towards. As we were fast approaching, I felt something was off, I just didn't know what. I could feel it in the air. As we got closer to the boarder, I could smell the sweetest scent. It was honey suckle; mixed with Sweet pea, I thought that I was going to go insane. The smell alone was driving me crazy, I had to get there and fast. Whatever or whoever that smell belonged to seemed to be in trouble, I could feel it in my bones. Before I could control him, my wolf Thorn began to take over. Just as we all, along with the human girl approached the border at the same time, Thorn shouted, "Mate."

"Palmyra?" I heard Luc ask. I looked over at him; he looked shocked to see her here. Did he know her? I heard her scream for help and Thorne darted off to the boarder. Just as I was about to reach her, King Demetri had to hold me back and King Ri had to hold Luc back; as the demons and rogues finally caught up to her. We both screamed as several demons sunk their teeth into her. I went to try and get away from King Demetri, giving him a right hook to the face, breaking his nose. My dad Mark grabbed me, "I'm sorry son. It's too late. You can't go to her." The demons carried her away, as I fought against him to go to her and bring her back. It was useless; I lost her before I even had a chance to get to know her. I fell to the ground on my knees sobbing. With tears running down my face, I was picked up my dad and brothers and carried back home.

When we got there, everyone sat down for dinner, before heading back to the conference room for another meeting; that would last well into the next day. I went straight to the outdoor gym, just behind the pack house. I had to let go of some steam. By the time that the guys came to find me, the surrounding trees looked like a category five tornado had just hit. There were trees uplifted from the ground, by the roots. The yard was a mess and I was still angry. King Demetri and King RI walked up to me and pulled my ass into the boxing ring. "Let's get that fucking anger of yours out now, before we head back inside. You don't need you upsetting your mom and sister or anyone else," King RI demanded.

Elijah's POV

Six months ago, I found my mate, when I did, I felt as if my heart and soul was ripped from me all at the same time. She was bitten by several demons, changing her into right in of my eyes and there was nothing that about it. The day that I found her, King Demetri and RI kicked the shit out of me till I was bloody and beaten down. King RI told me, "You don't need you upsetting your mom and sister or anyone else." As harsh as I thought it was at the time, I could see where he was coming from. I was pissed, ready to blow up at anything and anyone in my path. I was told to stay away from her, till everyone figures out how to get her alone and separated away from the rest of the demons, so they use the White Light Cure on her. So, far, we haven't been able to get her alone; her own family was told to stay away from her. When we got back to the pack house that night, Luc called her dad, Montgomery. He took leave from work and they have all been here ever since.

Palmyra, that's my mate's name and what a beautiful name it is. She was on winter vacation when she went missing. She left her college dorm and was driving home, when her car broke down on the side of the road. She made the mistake by accepting help from the wrong person. She had a friend with her, Violet, that was going home with Palmyra for the break. Violet happened to be a werewolf, Palmyra didn't know, but their help turned out to a demon, several of them actually; Violet knew. She tried to warn Palmyra, tried sending them away. But, the demon wasn't having any of that. When Violet shifted to protect Palmyra, she was shot in the head with a silver bullet. The girls were recording their trip on a camcorder, joking around, acting goofy; normal things that two young twenty year old do.

When they were attacked, the camcorder was dropped to the ground, but still able to pick everything up. Montgomery, his family and several of his friends and coworkers that came with him that first day, have all been transformed to either werewolves, hounds od God or a combo of both, making them hybrids. There were a few times, that she came up to the boarder, each time with tears in her eyes. After a few minutes, her demon would kick in and taunt us, tempting us to join her side .Both times, Montgomery and I had to be held back from going towards her. He wanted his daughter, I wanted my mate. Her visits have been getting more and more frequent, she always has others demons with her, making it impossible to safely capture her. It keeps getting harder and harder for me to stay away. A few times, I've been found at the boarder; waiting for her show up. It seemed as if I would never have her.

Unknown POV (7½ months earlier – November 2023)

"I don't care what the fuck that you have to do or who you have to take. But, you do something now! Those son of bitches are getting too strong, their army too big. Do something, take someone that will weaken the strong hold that King RI and his mutts have; along with the rest of those pathetic creatures."

"Yes, my Prince. I will do all that I can."

"You better. They already took down the demon king and queen and their successors. I still have yet to find someone to replace them. Of they make to the Gates of Hell, I will send you back there myself. There are no more excuses! Get it done! NOW!"

"Yes, my Prince."

I swear that no one can get anything right, especially stupid fucking demons. You want something done right, you have to do it yourself. I transformed into my human skin and went hunting. My demon's took Luna Sam's brother Elijah's mate and turned her. They knew nothing about them being mates when they first took her. I thought that we could use this to our advantage, Hell, was I wrong. I thought that it would be enough to put a dent in their strong hold that they have had against us. I was wrong. The bitch she-demon would not stat away from the boarders of The Forbidden Darkness. She was fighting the transformation, Palmyra is a lot stronger than I thought that she was. But, I improvised and I gave her my ok for her to visit, but to never step foot on Alpha Luc's territory. The more that she shows up, the more Elijah comes to the boarder to wait on her to show up. Eventually, he will give into the mate bond and when he does, I'll be there. I'll turn him and then once that's done, I'll use him to get to the higher up. I plan on even using him as a plant in his pack to infiltrate The Forbidden Darkness and their army. They will all eventually fall and I will personally see to it. I'm no longer going to stay in the darkness. I will ascend back to the heavens where I belong, where I should have been from the beginning and it will be me sitting on the throne, not God. How dare he think that he can kick me out!
