Damon's POV
I am the third child of the Alpha of the Ice Moon Pack. My father, Bergan Cooper, is the Alpha. My brother Morn is next in line, then my sister Elaine, and then me-Damon Daniel Cooper. Well, actually now it's Dr. Damon Daniel Cooper.
My mom died giving birth to me, which sets me apart from my siblings. I inherited more of my mom's traits than the others, so instead of being a brilliant white wolf with ice-blue eyes like them, I'm white and brown with one blue and one golden-brown eye. This trait carried over to my human form as well. I usually wear a colored contact to hide it-no need for the extra attention.
My childhood was happy for the most part, though there were many trials. My mom's side of the family blamed me for her death, so they cut ties with us and even tried to sacrifice me when I was five in an attempt to bring her back to life. We also faced constant attacks from the Crimson Clan, who felt my father stole their birthright as Alpha. He had challenged and won the position from their father before any of us were born to save the pack from Crimson's ruthless tyranny.
Thankfully, my father and siblings have always stood by me, and I by them. Since I wasn't destined to become the pack Alpha, I chose to go to medical school and became a doctor-a profession that I absolutely love. Now, I work as one of the pack doctors.

Louis's POV
I'm the Alpha of the Twisted River Pack. Sounds like a crazy name, but it has a lot of history behind it. We are one of the oldest and most respected packs around, owning the largest area of all the surrounding packs. I've only been the Alpha for two years and still rely on my father, Jason, for help. He was a very respected Alpha, and I often feel the pack doesn't think I will ever measure up to him. By the way, my name is Louis Jacobs.
I'm used to feeling not good enough. I'm not the largest, fastest, or most personable Alpha. Since I can remember, I've been pushed and pressured to be better. I've been watched like a hawk my whole life, never really allowed to have fun, as that would look bad for the future Alpha of the most respected pack.
School was not easy for me. I can't count how many classmates I had to beat up just to prove myself. Sometimes I would go home and cry into my pillow. I didn't really have friends, never sure if they were nice to me because they liked me or because they wanted to get in good standing with the future Alpha. Unfortunately, it was usually the latter.
My mother, Beth, was my support whenever I needed her. She never told my dad either, as he would have considered it showing weakness, which looked bad for the future Alpha. She is probably the only real friend I have. Sad, huh?
My brother, Seth, and sister, Alice, are twins and almost ten years younger than me. They are fun, but we aren't really close because of the age difference between us. Maybe one day.
Enough of that. It is stressful, but it's getting better. I seem to be getting the hang of it, and as long as things keep going like they are right now, it'll all be good.
Damon's POV
It was late, and I was exhausted, finally heading home from what felt like the longest shift ever. About a mile from the pack house, I saw a car pulled over with its hood up and flashing lights on. A girl was standing by the road, waving me down.
"What the hell," I thought to myself but stopped anyway. It was dark and starting to rain. These things never happen on a sunny day, during daylight. "What seems to be the problem?" I asked the girl.
She gave me a relieved smile. "Thank God you stopped. It just died."
"Let's have a look," I said, sounding like I was getting ready to examine a patient. I walked over to the car and looked at the engine. I noticed some loose wires and reached in to plug them back in. "Looks like some wires..." A hard slam to the back of my head cut me off, and everything went black.
I woke up with a pounding headache, realizing I was in a hotel room. I had been out for hours-it was now daylight. I tried to move but quickly realized I was tied to the headboard. Attempting to shift, I got no response from my wolf. Panic set in; I had never been out of contact with my wolf before.
The door creaked open, and a woman with long red hair and bright green eyes walked in, offering a kind smile. "Oh look, you're finally awake."
"Who are you and what have you done?" I demanded.
The woman laughed. "You're in no position to be demanding. You're here so that I may give my mate the revenge she deserves."
"You need to let me go," I demanded again.
"Boy, you are stubborn. I will let you go, but I need to make sure the spell took," she said. She bent down so we were face to face. "Damon, you need to learn some patience."
I tried to calm my anger. "Can you please tell me what's going on? What kind of spell?" I asked as calmly as I could.
She sat on the bed next to me. "I'm Amber, a witch. My mate is a Crimson. I just performed a spell on you that will change your life forever. I did it for my mate, and she's going to do something similar for me. When the spell takes effect, you will pass out again and barely remember any of this. It shouldn't be much longer now," Amber said, looking at her watch.
As she talked, my vision became blurry, and my eyes forced themselves closed.
When I reopened my eyes, I was in my truck, pulled off onto the side of the road. I looked around, not sure exactly what had happened. I saw my phone and picked it up. I had ten missed calls from different family members. I chose to call Morn back.
"Damon! Are you okay? Where have you been?" Morn asked before I could say hello.
"I think I fell asleep on the way home, but I'm not sure," I said, trying to wipe the haze from my eyes.
"Thank goodness you're okay. We were about to send out the warriors after you," Morn told me.
"I'm on my way home now," I said and cranked my truck, still very confused.
When I pulled into the drive, I saw my dad on the porch watching for me. I parked and started toward him. He sniffed the air and looked at me quizzically. "What do you smell?"
"You. Don't you smell it? You smell different," my dad said, giving me a questioning look. I sniffed again but smelled nothing. My heart started to race. "Son, what is wrong with you?"
"I... I don't smell anything," I managed to say.
"What about your wolf?" my dad quickly asked.
I focused on my wolf, but he didn't respond. My heart pounded harder. "He's not responding," I said, my head spinning as everything went black again.
I opened my heavy eyes and found myself in my own room. My sister, Elaine, was sitting by my bed, smiling. "Dad, he's awake."
I sat up stiffly. My muscles felt like rubber. "What happened?" I asked, trying to piece it together in my mind. It was a mix of my truck, rain, a room, a woman, and home. Nothing made sense.
"I was hoping you could tell us that," my dad said, walking over. "You fainted after you said your wolf wasn't responding."
I tried to get up, but Elaine stopped me. "No, you need to lie still until we know what's going on with you."
I couldn't help but get angry. "Who's the doctor here?" I snapped at her, causing her to shy away slightly. I instantly felt bad. "Sorry, sis."
"Actually, Dr. Cooper, right now, I'm the doctor here," Dr. Zach said, coming from the other room. "I've drawn your blood and am waiting on the results."
I relaxed a little, trying to communicate with my wolf, but still got no response. "I still can't contact my wolf," I told Dr. Zach.
"He's in there. I made sure. It seems he is under some type of heavy sedation. You have also been sedated," Dr. Zach explained.
"Damon, there are marks on your chest. Don't you remember anything?" Dad asked. I tried to remember again, but all I saw were flashes. "No, just a woman I don't know and some room."
"A woman? What does she look like?" Dad asked.
I thought again. It was all so blurry and confusing. "I don't know, long red hair and green eyes. That's all I remember."
My dad growled and began to pace.
"Alpha, the results should be in now. I will go get them," Dr. Zach said and left the room.
Dad nodded, then looked back at me. "I'm sorry, son. We'll figure out what happened. I just want to make sure you're okay."
I gave a slight smile back, then turned my gaze to Elaine. "Can I please get up now?"
Elaine rolled her eyes. "Fine," she answered in an annoyed tone.
I sat up with a swimming head. Once that passed, I got up and took a shower. When I stepped out of the bathroom, no one was in my room. Surprised and relieved, I shrugged and put my jeans on. The shower helped some, but I still felt like I hadn't slept in days. Before finishing getting dressed, I sat back down on the bed and lay back, trying to piece together what happened last night.
The next thing I noticed was something touching my stomach. I must have dozed off. I opened my eyes to see Elaine looking at me with a big smile. The doctor and my dad were standing behind her, looking very concerned. "What's going on?" I asked groggily.
Elaine's eyes grew wider, and her smile bigger. She placed her hand back on my shirtless abdomen. "Pup."

Louis's POV
Luckily for me, things had been quiet and running smoothly. Rewarding myself, I decided to go for a freeing run. I had just shifted back and put on my running shorts when a stabbing pain pierced my neck. Reaching for the spot, I found a dart embedded in my skin. My vision began to blur, and I decided to make a run for it. Another dart hit me in the back. My wolf howled inside me, but I couldn't shift. My muscles started to fail, and I stumbled, rolling down a rocky embankment. The last thing I remembered was my head crashing into a rock.
A throbbing pain in my head awakened me. My vision was still too blurry to make out anything around me. I felt a bed beneath me and realized my arms were tied to the headboard. I fought hard to get free, dislocating my shoulder in the process. A pained yell escaped me.
"You need to be quiet," a woman said. I tried to focus on the voice, but all I saw was a blurry figure with blonde hair.
"Who are you?" I asked in a strained voice.
"Never mind that. You need to be still," the woman said, then started chanting something.
Pain surged through my abdomen. "What are you doing?" I asked, fighting the restraints again, but only with my uninjured arm.
The woman sighed in annoyance and stopped chanting. She got up, dialing her cell phone. "He woke up during the spell... Yes, it's almost done... Double it? I have no quarrel with this man. I've never doubled the spell before... I know you did the other one for me... Okay, okay, no need to get so angry." She hung up. "I'm sorry, but my mate and I have an arrangement. This part will be over shortly. Then I suggest you see a doctor for that head and shoulder." I blinked to try to focus, but it was no use. I tried to summon my wolf but got no response. The woman began chanting again, and sharp pain shot through my abdomen. I gritted my teeth and growled.
Suddenly, the door flung open just as the woman stopped chanting and the pain subsided. "What is going on here? What did you do to him?" another female asked angrily. All I could see of her was a small frame and long dark hair.
"I'm just settling a debt for my mate. Why should you care? Aren't you a witch?" the blonde asked.
There was silence for a moment. "I have no reason to be angry with him. I live here, and I don't use my powers against others. He's hurt and needs a doctor," the dark-haired woman said.
The blonde stood up and walked to the door. "Fine, get him help then. Better hurry before he loses consciousness again." She left, and the dark-haired woman walked to the side of the bed. My vision only seemed to blur more. She untied me and helped me to my feet. "My name is Luciana," she said in a kind, gentle voice.
"I am Louis. Thank you for your help," I said. I took a step, but my knee gave out, injured in my fall. Without my wolf, my healing would be much slower than usual for me. Still faster than a human, but slower than normal.
With a lot of help from Luciana, I got out of the hotel room. "I'm taking you to my friend. He's a doctor." I agreed, considering I could barely see or walk.
Louis's POV
When we got to her friends office she had me wait in the car. Then a few moments later I heard a man's voice talking to Luciana. "Louis this is Damon. Well Dr. Cooper that I told you about. He's going to help you."
The two help me into the building and onto another bed. My vision is still too blurry for me to make out hardly anything and for some reason I can't smell anything. I try my wolf again and still get no response. At this point I can feel myself starting to freak out and break down. My breathing is fast and my heart is racing.
"Louis, you need to calm down." Dr. Cooper says. He pushes me back to the bed. "This is going to hurt." He says and then yanks my arm. I feel my shoulder pop back into place. "Maybe that will help you relax more." Dr. Cooper says.
It does maybe a little, but I'm still freaking out. "Louis get a holt to yourself." I tell myself thinking of how weak my father would think I was right now. I notice the doctors standing beside me, but can't tell what he is focusing on. "Damon what is it?" Luciana asks.
"These marks on his chest. I've seen them before. Another wolf was attacked like this. I need to do some blood work on him." Dr. Cooper tells her. "Louis it's going to be ok." He tells me before proceeding to draw my blood.

Luciana's POV
Yes I'm a witch, but I stick to myself and am not loyal to any pack or coven. Only myself. It's the way I've learned to survive.
Growing up I was always a little different. I felt like I could never really be my true self or people would think I was weird or strange. I got my fair share of being picked on but was never really bullied. I loved art, but my family didn't really encourage a career in that. I always felt a little bit alone. Like I never completely belonged. Everyone always had someone or something more important than me. Sounds silly but it's just how I felt. For example as friends go I never really had that best friend that would come whenever you needed them. And now they all have their own families and problems to deal with. Any my family. I have a sister and we are close, but I still have parts of myself I would share with her. And now she too has her own family and problems to deal with. My mom past away a few years ago and I help my dad. Still I don't share my true self with him either.
So I'm sitting in my apartment and I hear the chanting again. I'm not going to let them to this wolf whatever they did to the other one. I could feel the wolf fully submit into its human form as if sedated heavily. I rush upstairs and as my hand touches the door knob I feel the spell complete. I opened the door anyway. To my surprise there on the bed laid no other than Louis, Alpha of the Twisted River pack.
I don't recognize the woman with him and I instantly notice she is not a witch. She brings up the fact that Louis's pack banished all witches from their territory. I am well aware that they were forced into that decision because of a group of evil witches that are part of Marie's coven. Marie has a distinct hate for Jason and had tortured some wolfs from his pack with magic.
Now I watch as Damon who I have been friends with since school draws Louis's blood. The look on Damon's face is not a happy one. I could even say he looks a little green. "Damon are you ok?" I ask as he walks toward the lab table.
"Yeah. I just did a twelve hour shift." Damon says and then upchucks into a nearby trash can. He gives me a beaten look. "And I may have a few other things going on." Damon said.
"If you were busy you didn't have to help me." I assure him.
"Luciana we're friends. It's what we do." Damon says with a kind smile.
I'm completely surprised by his words. "This was a spell." I tell him.
"I'm aware. That other wolf I told you about. It is me." Damon said.
"Oh no. What did it do?" I ask Damon, but the machine running Louis's blood beep and he turns his attention to it. He reads the results and slumps his shoulders.
"What, what is it?" I ask anxiously.
"How do you tell an alpha he's pregnant?" Damon asked. I sit in silence with no know answer. Damon takes a deep breath and walks over to Louis. "Which news do you want first?" Damon asked.
Louis is at a loss for a moment. "Is my vision going to get better or worse?" Louis finally asks.
"Your vision should be back to normal with in a couple days." Damon answered.
Louis is silent for another moment. "What aren't you telling me doc?" Louis finally asks.
"Well you were the victim of a spell. What ever it is it disconnects your wolf and it's senses. On top of that you're pregnant." Damon said in a gentle tone.

Louis's POV
Pregnant! What the f. This is not at all what I expected. Pregnant! I think I'm going to puke. "Doc did you say pregnant?" I ask just to make sure I'm not freaking out inside for no reason.
"I'm afraid so. It just happened you do have options and a little bit of time to decide." Dr. Cooper said in as non judgemental tone as anyone offering the options could do. I don't even know how to respond. I think I'm in shock.
"Your shoulder will heal quickly. You twisted your knee pretty bad and tore some ligaments. Since you can't shift you'll probably be on crutches for about a week." Dr. Cooper explained.
I look around the blurry room. My thoughts are everywhere. "Any idea how long I will be disconnected from my wolf? I kind of need him right now." I ask.
"The other attack I mentioned was a little over two weeks ago and that victim is still out of touch with their wolf." Dr. Cooper tells me.
"Great. Any idea how I explain this to the least appreciative alpha in the world?" I ask Dr. Cooper.
He gave me a strange look. "I thought you were the alpha?"
I can't help but chuckle. "Technically I am, but my dad still makes me prove myself."
The doctor gives me long look that I don't understand. "I know who your dad is and he wouldn't have passed the hat if he had any doubts. Maybe you're still trying to prove to yourself you can do the job."
At first I'm angry but then I realize he could maybe be right. No one around me except my mom is ever that honest with me. It's always about pleasing the alpha. I'm impressed enough my mind is distracted from my current situation for like a second.
"Ok. I'll put a brace on that knee and you can go home if you want.
There might be a slight change in your sent, but Luciana here is good with assisting with that. As far as your injuries taking longer to heal and your wolf not responding well just tell them your wolf ran into some thrasher root on your run." Dr. Cooper said.
"Thanks doc." I say as he hands me some crutches. I tuck them under my arms and awkwardly hobble toward the door. I feel a hand grab my arm and a rush of sparks shoot throughout my entire body. I turn and look to see the doctor standing looking like I feel. Overwhelmed and confused.
He shakes his head and clears his throat. "Uh you may want to put this on. Those markings on your chest won't fade for a few days." He says and hands me a scrub top.
I take the shirt and nod thanks. Then I realize I have no vehicle. I turn my gaze to Luciana. "Uh I already you owe you a lot, but would you mind driving me home?"
Luciana gives me a bemused look. "Uh I'm a witch remember?" I suddenly feel completely stupid. "But if you can promise I won't get burned at the stake or anything sure." She adds with a friendly smile.
"I'm the Alpha remember. Thanks again doc." I say as me and Luciana leave the clinic.
