The Twin Lycans Fated Mate

Author: : Jacqueline Wambui
Genre: Werewolf
Two brothers. One destined mate. A bond that could tear their world apart. Born under the Blood Moon, twin Lycans Andrew and Andy Goldwick were prophesied to lead their pack into a new era. As opposites in both personality and power-Andrew the fierce Alpha heir and Andy the cunning strategist-they share everything... until her. Selene Hartley never expected to be claimed by not one, but both Goldwick brothers. As a rare Omega with a dormant bloodline, her awakening threatens the fragile balance between the twins-and the supernatural world itself.

Chapter 1 1

The forest whispered ancient secrets as moonlight pierced through the canopy of thick, gnarled trees. Shadows danced across the earth like restless spirits, and somewhere in the distance, a low howl broke the silence. It was a sound that made the animals freeze, and even the wind seemed to pause to listen.

Selene Hartley didn't flinch. She couldn't afford to. Not tonight.

Her bare feet skimmed over damp earth, dodging roots and thorns as she sprinted deeper into the woods. Blood pounded in her ears, each beat a reminder of the ticking clock inside her. Her Awakening had begun-too soon, too violently.

And the twins would feel it.

They already do.

A heat bloomed in her chest, pulsing outward like a beacon. She gritted her teeth, clutching the satchel around her shoulder tighter. Her heart wasn't just calling-it was screaming.

Half a mile away, Andrew Goldwick froze mid-step, the silver blade in his hand falling slack at his side. His amber eyes narrowed, the golden flecks in them brightening under the full moon.

"She's close," he muttered.

From behind, his twin brother Andy emerged from the shadows, blood smeared on his jaw from the rogue he'd just dealt with. "You felt it too."

Andrew turned toward him, nodding once. "The bond snapped into place. Hard."

Andy's brow furrowed. "She's Awakening. That can't be right. She's-what? Twenty-two?"

"Twenty-three," Andrew said softly, eyes scanning the trees. "It's supposed to happen at twenty-five. Unless she's not-"

"A normal Omega," Andy finished.

They didn't need to say more. Both knew what this meant. The prophecy. The Blood Moon. The mate who would stand beside them-or between them.

Selene stumbled into a clearing, her breath ragged. Her limbs trembled as if she'd run miles instead of minutes. The air shimmered around her, thick with magic and moonlight. Her knees gave out, and she collapsed, clawing at the earth.

And then she screamed.

It wasn't human. It wasn't animal. It was hers-raw, primal, terrifying. A sound born of pain and power. Her veins lit up like molten fire, and her back arched as a sudden, invisible force surged through her.

From the treeline, two figures burst into view, both tall, broad, and radiating dominance.

Andrew was first, the Alpha heir with a storm burning behind his eyes. Andy followed, a shadow at his brother's side, equally lethal but with a calm that chilled.

Selene's eyes met Andrew's, and time stopped.

She saw everything in that look-the pain he carried, the weight of his crown, the rage he kept leashed behind thick walls of duty. And then her gaze flicked to Andy, and it was like being wrapped in velvet. He was quiet stormlight, secrets and softness hidden beneath blades.

Their scents hit her at once-spiced pine and smoky cedar. Her wolf howled in recognition.

Andrew took a cautious step forward. "Selene?"

Her name from his lips was a promise. From Andy's, it was a prayer.

She whimpered. "What's happening to me?"

"You're Awakening," Andy said softly, his voice like silk over rough bark. "And we're your-"

"Mates," Andrew finished. "Both of us."

The days that followed were a blur.

Selene lay in a secluded cabin tucked deep within Goldwick territory, guarded by wards and warriors. The twins took shifts watching over her, tending to her while trying not to kill each other.

It wasn't easy.

Andrew, ever the Alpha, was possessive, protective, and pissed at the world for handing him a fate he hadn't asked for.

Andy, more reserved but no less intense, watched her with eyes full of longing he tried to hide.

Selene felt caught between them-drawn to Andrew's fire and Andy's ice. Her heart didn't know where to land. Her wolf didn't care.

Every time they touched her-even accidentally-it ignited something wild inside her. A pull so magnetic it made her tremble.

On the third night, she finally asked, "How is this possible? Aren't mates supposed to be one-on-one?"

Andrew stood at the hearth, his jaw tight. "Usually. But there's a prophecy. An old one."

Andy spoke from the shadows. "A daughter of two bloodlines, born under the eclipsed moon, will bear the mark of fate. She will choose the Alpha to unite the broken."

Selene blinked. "I don't even know who my parents were."

Andrew turned slowly. "You're adopted?"

"I was abandoned at the edge of a human town. Raised by an old healer. She died when I was sixteen."

Andy stepped closer, crouching in front of her. "You've felt different your whole life, haven't you?"

She nodded. "Like something was asleep inside me. Until that night."

Andrew moved beside her, his voice low. "You carry more than you know, Selene. And now that it's awake, others will come for you."

Her heart thundered. "Why?"

"Because the one you choose," Andy said, "will become more than Alpha. He'll become King."

That night, Selene stood outside the cabin, her fingers brushing the carved railing as wind tugged at her hair. The moon was high, full and red. Blood Moon.

Andrew stepped behind her, close enough for warmth. "I know what you're thinking."

"I doubt it."

"You feel like you're being torn in two."

She laughed bitterly. "Do you always read minds?"

"No. But I know that look. I wore it the day my father made me Alpha heir. The day Andy was told he'd always stand behind me."

She turned to him. "Do you hate it?"

Andrew's eyes flickered. "Not as much as I hate what it's doing to him."

Before she could respond, Andy appeared on the porch, a bottle in one hand. "Moon's not the only thing bleeding tonight."

Selene raised a brow. "Is that your idea of small talk?"

He grinned. "It got you to smile, didn't it?"

Andrew rolled his eyes. "Don't encourage him."

Selene's gaze bounced between them. They were night and day. One a blazing wildfire, the other the cool dusk after a storm.

And both were hers.

Or neither.

She didn't know yet.

But she would have to choose soon.

Because something darker than fate was coming. Something ancient. Hungry. And it wanted what only Selene could give.

Selene stepped off the porch and into the moonlight, her bare feet sinking slightly into the grass. The forest beyond swayed in rhythm with the wind, and the smell of damp earth, pine, and something more primal drifted on the air. She tilted her head back, eyes closed, letting the energy of the night seep into her bones.

Behind her, the twins remained silent. She could feel both their gazes on her like a fire and a shadow wrapped around her soul.

"You know this can't last," she whispered, still not turning around.

Andy stepped closer. "What can't?"

"This." She gestured between them without looking. "You. Me. The three of us stuck in this... in-between. I can feel your wolves pulling at me. It's getting stronger. And I don't know what happens when I choose."

Andrew's voice was low, clipped. "Then don't choose yet."

She finally turned to face them. "You think I won't have to? That the bond won't demand it? I can barely breathe when you're both near me. My wolf... she doesn't know who to run to."

Andy's eyes darkened, his voice quiet but sharp. "Maybe she doesn't want to run. Maybe she wants both."

Andrew's jaw clenched. "That's not how this works."

"But maybe it should be," Andy snapped.

Selene stepped between them, placing a hand on each of their chests. The bond flared to life under her touch-two separate threads vibrating in perfect, dangerous harmony.

"I didn't ask for this," she said softly. "But I won't let either of you tear each other apart because of me."

Andrew looked down at her hand on his chest. "Then don't make us choose."

"I won't," she promised. "But I need time to understand what's happening inside me. What this bond means."

Andy took a step back, pain flickering in his eyes. "The bond means war, Selene. Whether we want it or not."

Later that night, Selene wandered into the woods alone. The Goldwick guards had been ordered to let her roam but to stay close. Still, she'd managed to slip past them. The forest had always been her sanctuary, even before she knew what she was.

And tonight, it called to her.

Her pulse thrummed in her ears as she ventured deeper. The trees seemed to bend toward her, ancient and watching. Her fingers brushed against bark, leaves, air that felt charged with something old.

Then she heard it.

A low, guttural growl.

Not one of the brothers.

Something else.

Selene froze, heart leaping into her throat. The scent hit her like a wave-rotten meat and ash. Not natural. Not of this world.

Another growl. Closer.

She turned to run-

-and slammed into a massive figure cloaked in shadow. Clawed hands seized her arms. A face she didn't recognize loomed over her, twisted and monstrous, yellow eyes glowing with hunger.

"Found you," it rasped.

She screamed, thrashing, but the thing was strong-inhumanly so.

Then a second figure emerged behind it.

No-not a second. A twin.

They were alike in size and stench, both malformed and reeking of corrupted magic.

Rogues, she thought. But no... these weren't just rogues. They were something darker. Twisted by ancient curses, forbidden rituals.

The first creature dragged her backward. "The Moon's bride. She bleeds like the rest."

Just as it raised its claw to strike, a howl shattered the night.

Then another-deeper, more furious.

Andrew and Andy.

The trees exploded around them as the twins tore through the underbrush, both mid-shift, their Lycans massive and glowing with rage.

Andrew struck first, slamming into one of the creatures with such force that bones cracked. His fangs tore into flesh, fur bristling as he drove the thing into the dirt.

Andy was a blur of speed, circling the second monster before lunging. His claws raked across its chest, spraying dark blood across the trees.

Selene dropped to her knees, gasping, watching the brothers fight like they were born to do nothing else.

Together, they were a storm.

The corrupted Lycans never stood a chance.

It was over in seconds-ripped throats, broken spines. The bodies dissolved into ash the moment their cursed lives ended.

Andrew shifted back first, panting, blood dripping from his knuckles.

He rushed to her side. "Selene. Are you-?"

"I'm okay," she breathed, though her limbs trembled. "What were they?"

Andy shifted next, his expression grim. "Not rogues. Something worse. I've seen traces of them at the border. I thought it was just dark magic leaking in."

"They were looking for her," Andrew said. "They called her the Moon's bride."

Andy met his brother's gaze. "The prophecy's spreading."

Selene looked between them. "What prophecy?"

Andrew swallowed. "The one that says your blood will either crown a king... or awaken a god."

Back at the cabin, Selene stood in front of the mirror, examining her reflection. Dirt smudged her cheeks, her hair wild from the fight, but what caught her attention were the markings-new ones-glowing faintly on her collarbone. Crescent moons. Intertwined.

Twin bonds.

She touched them, shivering.

The choice wouldn't just be about love.

It would be about power.

And survival.

The door creaked open behind her. Andy's voice was quiet. "You scared the hell out of us."

She turned. "I didn't mean to. I just... I needed air."

He stepped closer. "You should've called for me. For us."

"I didn't want to depend on either of you."

Andy tilted his head. "But we want you to."

She stared at him for a long moment. "Andy, what happens if I never choose?"

He hesitated. "Then the bond might tear you apart."

She flinched.

"But if you choose the wrong one," he added, softer, "it might tear us apart."

Outside the cabin, Andrew stood alone beneath the stars, watching the forest.

The wind carried a whisper that wasn't his brother's or Selene's.

It was older. Malevolent.

The bond that had awakened wasn't the only thing stirred by the Blood Moon.

And whatever was coming... it wouldn't wait for Selene's decision.

Chapter 2 2

The fire crackled softly in the hearth of the cabin, but Selene barely felt its warmth. Wrapped in a wool blanket, she sat in silence on the edge of the bed, eyes distant, mind racing. The mark on her collarbone pulsed faintly beneath her shirt- a reminder of the twin bond now seared into her soul.

Two mates. Two fates.

And no idea how to survive either one.

She heard the door creak behind her.

"Thought I'd find you awake," Andrew said, stepping into the room.

He looked tired. Shadows clung to his eyes like the weight of the world hadn't given him a moment of rest. His shirt was slightly torn at the shoulder, a reminder of the fight in the woods, but he hadn't bothered changing. That was Andrew-battle-worn and always ready for the next one.

"You should sleep," Selene murmured, still not looking at him.

"So should you," he replied. He crossed the room and sat on the floor in front of her, arms resting on his knees. "But neither of us will, will we?"

She shook her head slowly. "How long have you known about the prophecy?"

Andrew hesitated. "Years. Our father found an old scroll buried beneath the ruins of the First Pack's Temple. It spoke of a girl born under an eclipsed moon. Marked by fate. Claimed by two."

Selene's throat tightened. "Claimed. Like I'm some prize to be fought over."

Andrew looked up at her, jaw clenched. "You're not a prize, Selene. But you are important. More than you know. Your wolf... she's unlike anything I've ever felt. When I found you in the woods tonight, something inside me shifted."

She leaned forward, whispering, "Shifted how?"

His eyes darkened. "I felt fear. Not for myself. For you. And I don't feel that. Not even in war."

Selene reached down, brushing his hair back from his forehead. "You carry too much."

"So do you," he said, catching her wrist gently.

They stayed there, the bond humming between them, neither moving. Neither speaking.

Until Andy's voice cut through the moment.

"Sorry to interrupt," he said, standing at the threshold. "But we need to talk."

Andrew stood, stiffening. "Now?"

Andy nodded. "Now."

Selene sighed, already sensing the storm brewing between them. "Can we at least try to speak without bloodshed?"

Andy raised a brow. "That depends on him."

Andrew growled low. "Don't push me tonight, Andy."

"Then don't make it so easy," Andy snapped.

Selene stood, placing herself between them. Again.

"This isn't helping," she said. "I'm barely holding myself together and watching the two of you tear into each other isn't making it easier."

Andy's gaze softened. "We're not trying to fight, Selene. But things are moving fast. Too fast. And I think you deserve the truth."

She narrowed her eyes. "What truth?"

He glanced at Andrew, then back at her. "About your birth."

They sat around the cabin's table, a map spread before them, candlelight casting shadows across the parchment. Andy pointed to a mountain range to the east-rugged, almost impossible to traverse.

"Wolfsbane Ridge," he said. "No one goes there. Not unless they want to vanish."

Selene folded her arms. "What does that have to do with me?"

Andrew answered, voice low. "That's where you were born."

She blinked. "What?"

"Your parents were part of a forgotten bloodline. The Solari," Andy explained. "They were gifted-part wolf, part something else. Something older. Some say descended from the Moon Goddess herself."

Andrew continued, "They were slaughtered. Every last one. Except a baby girl smuggled out by a healer who knew what she was."

Selene's heart thundered. "You're saying I'm... Solari?"

Andy nodded. "The last of your line."

"That's why those things came for you in the forest," Andrew added. "You're not just a mate. You're a key. To what, we don't know. But others are already looking for you. And they won't stop."

Selene's head spun. It felt like her entire identity had cracked wide open. A nobody Omega abandoned at birth was now the last of a powerful bloodline with a bond to two Alphas and a prophecy carved in moonlight.

She stood abruptly. "I need air."

Before either brother could stop her, she was out the door and into the night.

The sky was velvet-black, stars scattered like shattered crystal. The moon hung low, crimson around the edges, like it bled for her too.

Selene ran a hand through her hair and walked toward the edge of the cliff behind the cabin. From here, the forest stretched endlessly, and wind howled through the trees like the world itself grieved.

Moments later, she sensed him.

Andy.

"I told him not to follow you," he said gently. "Figured you'd prefer the quiet one this time."

She let out a soft laugh. "I'm not sure I have a preference anymore. Between fire and frost, how does a girl choose?"

Andy stepped beside her, hands in his pockets. "You're not just choosing between us, Selene. You're choosing the kind of leader you'll be. The kind of queen."

She turned to him. "I don't want to rule."

His eyes held hers. "But you were born to."

He moved closer, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. "You're stronger than you know. And no matter what happens, I'll protect you. Even if you don't choose me."

Her heart ached at the softness in his voice.

"I don't want to hurt either of you," she whispered.

"You might," Andy said, "but we're big boys. We'll heal."

"But the bond..."

Andy gave a small, sad smile. "The bond will survive. Even if we don't."

He leaned in, pressing a kiss to her forehead, lingering a moment longer than necessary.

Then he stepped back, leaving her alone under the stars.

Back inside, Andrew paced like a caged animal, fury simmering in his blood. He'd felt it-the moment Andy touched her. The kiss. The pull.

He clenched his fists.

Not because he was jealous.

Because he was afraid.

Not of losing her...

...but of what he might become if he did.

----

The next morning broke cold and gray. Storm clouds lingered on the horizon, and the usual sounds of birdsong were oddly absent. Selene stood at the window of the cabin, watching mist roll over the forest floor like ghostly fingers creeping closer.

Something was coming.

Something that made her wolf pace anxiously beneath her skin.

She turned as the cabin door creaked open behind her. This time, it was Andrew.

"You didn't come back last night," he said softly.

"I needed to think," she replied, not meeting his eyes.

A long pause stretched between them.

Andrew crossed the room slowly. "You know... when we were little, Andy used to have nightmares. He'd sneak into my bed and pretend he wasn't scared. But I could always feel his hands shaking."

Selene turned toward him. "Why are you telling me this?"

"Because when we met you, that bond didn't just split between us. It tangled everything. My loyalty to him, to our pack, to myself... it all shifted. I'm not just scared of losing you, Selene. I'm scared of what losing us might do to him."

She walked toward him, heart heavy. "And what about you? You act like he's the only one who matters."

Andrew's eyes darkened. "You both matter."

Selene's voice cracked. "Then why does it feel like choosing either of you means breaking the other?"

Andrew stepped forward. "Because it might."

He was close now-close enough for her to feel the heat rolling off him, the raw power coiled just beneath his skin.

"But I'm not going to ask you to choose yet," he said, voice barely above a whisper. "Not until you're ready. Not until you know what you want."

Selene blinked up at him, and for a moment, the world fell away. No prophecy. No danger. Just her, him, and the bond that pulsed between them like a second heartbeat.

Then a knock shattered the moment.

Andy stood in the doorway, a grim look on his face.

"You need to come see this. Both of you."

The three of them stood on the edge of a clearing deep in the woods.

Before them: destruction.

Trees blackened and scorched. The earth cracked open and steaming. Symbols burned into the dirt in a language none of them recognized.

Andrew crouched low, fingers brushing one of the sigils. "Ritual markings. Blood magic."

Andy circled the clearing, his expression stormy. "This wasn't random. Someone summoned something here."

Selene stood frozen, staring at the scorch marks.

Her wolf pressed hard against the edges of her skin, restless. Uneasy.

Suddenly, the wind shifted.

A whisper rose from the markings-no sound, but a feeling. Cold. Hollow. Ancient.

Then Selene's vision blurred.

The trees dissolved. The twins' voices vanished. And she was somewhere else.

Standing in a grand temple of white marble and silver. Moonlight poured through a skylight shaped like a crescent. Shadows flickered in the corners-watching. Waiting.

A voice echoed in her mind.

"Choose your king, or awaken your god."

Selene gasped.

The vision shattered.

She collapsed to her knees, clutching her head.

Both brothers were at her side in an instant.

"Selene-what happened?" Andrew asked.

She looked up, eyes wide. "I saw it again. The temple. The moonlight. And the voice-same as before."

Andy helped her stand, voice urgent. "What did it say?"

Her lips parted, the words tasting like ash. "Choose your king... or awaken your god."

Andrew's face went pale. "That confirms it."

"Confirms what?" she asked.

Andy answered for him. "If you don't choose one of us-if your heart doesn't anchor this bond-it could trigger something ancient. Something buried deep in the bloodlines. A power we were never meant to touch."

Selene stared at them, fear blooming in her chest. "Then what am I? A ticking time bomb?"

"No," Andrew said fiercely. "You're the only thing holding the balance."

Andy added, "And that's why they're coming for you."

She swallowed hard. "Who?"

The brothers exchanged a look.

"The Blood Priests," Andy whispered. "The ones who cursed the Solari in the first place. We thought they were long dead."

Andrew's jaw clenched. "If they're back... they'll want to finish what they started."

Selene felt her knees weaken.

The twins caught her before she fell.

That night, Selene sat outside the cabin alone again, knees drawn to her chest.

She stared at the stars, wondering if the Moon Goddess was watching.

Wondering if she'd made a mistake giving Selene a choice at all.

Behind her, she sensed Andy's presence-but this time, Andrew was beside him.

No more tension. No cold glares.

Just quiet solidarity.

They sat on either side of her, not saying a word.

And for the first time in days, Selene didn't feel alone.

She felt like the eye of a storm-

-calm before the chaos.

But deep down, she knew... The storm hadn't even begun.

Chapter 3 3

The dawn came quietly, but the forest did not rest. Birds did not sing. Wolves did not howl. The land held its breath. Selene stood in the clearing behind the cabin, her bare feet sinking into the cold grass as she faced the rising sun. Her wolf was close to the surface- too close. It made her skin itch, her blood simmer. For the first time in her life, she felt... unstable.

Andrew and Andy stood a few feet away, their arms crossed as they watched her warily.

"You're not controlling the wolf anymore," Andrew said. "She's controlling you."

Selene clenched her fists. "I can feel her. She's angry. Restless."

"She's awakening," Andy murmured. "And she doesn't want to be caged."

Andrew stepped forward, tossing her a short blade. "Then stop caging her. Let her fight."

Selene caught the blade, her eyes narrowing. "You want me to spar?"

Andy cracked a half-smile. "Think of it more like survival training."

"You mean don't die?"

"Exactly."

She turned the blade in her hand, testing the weight. "And what happens if my wolf takes over?"

Andrew smiled grimly. "Then we see what she's made of."

They started slow.

Andrew lunged, and Selene blocked instinctively. Andy swept low, but she jumped over his leg with a growl. Sweat beaded on her skin as her wolf pushed harder, clawing for control.

Andrew spun her into a hold-arm locked against her throat.

"Come on," he whispered. "Let her out."

Selene snarled, eyes flashing silver.

Her pulse surged.

Something inside her snapped.

With a roar, she slammed Andrew backward, sending him crashing into a tree. Andy charged her next, but Selene moved like lightning, disarming him in seconds. She wasn't thinking anymore. She wasn't human. She was power and instinct and fury in motion.

Then her bones cracked.

Her body twisted.

She shifted-not fully, not like a normal wolf-but into something... else.

Silver fur rippled up her arms, claws extended from her fingers, and her eyes burned with golden fire.

The brothers froze.

Andy took a cautious step back. "Selene?"

She blinked at him, teeth bared, her breath coming in short, ragged bursts. She saw them-Andrew bruised, Andy cautious-and the red haze lifted.

She fell to her knees, shifting back with a sob.

Andrew was at her side in seconds, wrapping her in a coat.

"I didn't mean to-" she gasped. "I wasn't trying to hurt-"

"You didn't hurt us," he said quietly. "But you could have."

Andy knelt beside her, his voice low. "You're not just Solari. You're something more. You've got hybrid blood, Selene."

She shook her head. "That's not possible."

Andy glanced at Andrew, then back at her. "It is if your mother wasn't fully wolf."

Andrew added, "The Moon Temple... that vision wasn't just a memory. It was a calling. Your bloodline might be connected to the Moon Goddess herself."

Selene stared between them. "So what does that make me?"

Andy met her eyes. "A goddess reborn. Or a weapon unleashed."

Later that night, Selene lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.

The mark on her collarbone glowed faintly in the dark-no longer just a bond. It pulsed with energy, wild and ancient.

Outside, wolves howled-different from before. It wasn't a mourning song.

It was a summons.

She threw off the blankets and rushed to the window.

In the distance, past the treeline, a dozen figures stood cloaked in silver.

Eyes glowing red.

Marks burned into their flesh.

Andy appeared behind her. "They're here."

Selene turned to him, her voice barely a whisper. "The Blood Priests?"

He nodded. "They found you."

Andrew joined them, already dressed in armor. "This isn't just an attack. It's a test. They want to see what you are."

Selene's heart thundered. "Then let's show them."

The forest erupted into chaos.

Flames licked the trees.

Blades clashed in the night.

Selene moved through the battle like a storm-fluid, untouchable. The wolf inside her didn't just fight; it commanded. And the Blood Priests... they bled like any other.

But when she reached the final priest-tall, robed in red-he didn't draw a weapon.

He smiled.

And spoke in a tongue older than the land itself.

Selene faltered.

The words echoed in her bones, awakening something inside her chest. Her mark burned. Her vision blurred.

And then-

The world went white.

Selene opened her eyes.

She stood once again in the Moon Temple, alone.

But this time, she was not the only soul there.

A woman stood in the center of the temple, cloaked in moonlight.

Her hair silver. Her eyes endless.

"Daughter of blood," the woman said, her voice ringing like wind over water. "You stand at the edge of destiny."

Selene's throat tightened. "Who are you?"

The woman smiled. "I am what you may become."

Selene whispered, "The Moon Goddess."

"You are of me. And yet not. You carry my blood and that of man. You are both fury and mercy."

Tears welled in Selene's eyes. "Why me?"

The goddess stepped closer. "Because balance cannot be born. It must be forged."

She raised a hand to Selene's chest, and light poured into her.

The vision ended.

Selene collapsed in the forest clearing, gasping.

The Blood Priests were gone.

Dead or vanished.

Andy cradled her, shouting her name.

Andrew pressed a hand to her mark.

It no longer glowed.

It shined.

Etched not just with the mark of the mates...

...but with the sigil of the goddess.

The wind was sharp as it cut through the trees, tousling Selene's hair as she lay on the forest floor. Her breath came in slow, steady pulls now, and the chaos of the vision began to ebb like the tide.

Andy's arms were still wrapped around her, holding her like he feared she'd vanish.

Andrew knelt at her other side, his face carved from worry and something deeper-something more primal.

"Selene," Andy murmured, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Talk to me. Say something."

"I saw her," Selene rasped. Her throat was dry, her limbs weak, but her eyes burned with clarity. "The Moon Goddess. She spoke to me."

Andrew's brows drew together. "What did she say?"

Selene sat up slowly, the world tilting slightly before righting itself. "That I'm of her blood. That I'm meant to forge balance, not just restore it. She called me the daughter of blood."

Andy exhaled a low breath. "That's not just a vision. That's a declaration."

"A warning too," Selene added. "She said I carry both fury and mercy... and that both will be tested."

Andrew helped her to her feet. "Then we need to prepare. Because if the goddess has chosen you, there will be others who want to unmake you."

They returned to the cabin as dawn broke fully over the treetops. The scent of blood still lingered in the air from the battle, but the Blood Priests were gone-leaving only ash and ruin in their wake.

Inside, the fire was dying down, and the tension crackled in the silence. Andy paced near the hearth, while Andrew stood guard at the window.

Selene sat on the edge of the table, the goddess's words still echoing in her head.

"Choose your king... or awaken your god."

But what if she was becoming both?

"I don't think this is just about me choosing between the two of you," Selene said suddenly, voice firmer now. "I think it's about who I become because of that choice. Or maybe... who I become despite it."

Andy turned. "You're saying it's not about love?"

"It is," she admitted, meeting his eyes. "But it's not just about that. It's about identity. Legacy. Fate."

Andrew crossed the room to her. "So where does that leave us?"

Selene stood and faced them both. "In the eye of the storm. And whether I choose one of you, both of you, or neither, the world won't wait. The priests will come again. And I have to be ready when they do."

Andy stepped closer, pain flashing in his expression. "And are you?"

Selene didn't answer right away. Her hand brushed over the glowing mark on her collarbone.

"No," she whispered. "But I will be."

That night, Selene stood outside alone again, this time by choice. The wind had picked up, sending whispers through the trees.

Her body still felt raw from the transformation, but her spirit was steadier now-solid like the mountains beyond the valley.

Andrew appeared first, then Andy a moment later, the two of them standing on either side of her like shadows forged from moonlight and fire.

"We'll train you," Andy said.

"Protect you," Andrew added.

"Even if you don't choose us," Andy continued, "we'll stand with you."

Selene's throat tightened. "I don't want to be the reason you two destroy each other."

Andrew looked at his brother. "Maybe we've already done enough of that ourselves."

Andy gave a bitter laugh. "Maybe."

But then he looked at Selene.

"And maybe... you're the only one who can fix it."

The three of them stood in silence for a long moment. Not as mates. Not as warriors.

Just as people caught in the tangle of fate, blood, and something far more dangerous-hope.

Back in the ruins of the battlefield, far beyond the valley, a shadow moved.

Tall. Cloaked. Unseen by the mortal eye.

The last of the Blood Priests knelt before a burning altar, the air thick with incense and rot.

"She awakens," he whispered.

Behind him, a dozen figures stepped from the dark, their faces hidden, their eyes glowing crimson.

The priest smiled.

"The daughter of blood will fall. And when she does... the god beneath the moon will rise."
