The Succubus Queen

The hallways were silent, too silent. The maids had retired to their quarters on the instruction of the king.

King Oswald and his wife Queen Harlow walked down the hallway to their daughter's room. The little Princess Leia lay under the covers but she was not entirely covered, the bed cover stopped at her neck. Her body was weak and she didn't move.

The queen's eyes were still covered in tears. The king tried severally to make her stop but she would not. Queen Harlow moved closer to Leia and brushed the strand of hair that covered her face.

"Mama" Leia whispered and the queen forced a smile.

"I'm here baby," Queen Harlow said as she smiled at her.

"I'm tired mama and my body hurts" Leia cried softly.

"No. Don't say that baby, you will have to be strong for mama" queen Harlow said as she softly caressed Leia's face.

"I can't, I'm trying so hard and I want to sleep" her eyes closed after that, and the queen panicked.

"Leia, Leia. Come on, speak to mama. Daddy is here too baby"

Then king Oswald moved closer to his daughter's bed. The king and his wife held her hands. They tried to hold back the tears.

Leia was their only child and she was terribly ill with no idea on how to cure her of this strange illness. The king and his wife had tried all they could to save her but no one seem to have a cure.

Every medicine they tried had failed and they had little or no options left to try. Their little girl was dying slowly and it hurt.

After ten years of childlessness, they were blessed with a lovely daughter Leia and now she was gradually leaving them.

Leia coughed harshly and her small body began to shake as she coughed even louder and their fear increased. Tears wouldn't stop flowing from Queen Harlow's eyes. What was going to happen to their daughter?

There was a gentle knock on the door and the king and queen froze.

"Who could be here by this time?" The king wondered

The king had told all the maids and guards to stay clear of the room tonight. So he didn't stop wondering who could defy the order of the king.

He stood up and approached the door quietly and cautiously. He hesitated a bit before he finally opened the door a little. Then he saw Ross. His most trusted guard and his body was relaxed. Ross was an exemption. He must have news.

"Your highness" Ross greeted

"What's the news, Ross?" King Oswald asked the huge man.

"She is downstairs. I wanted to inform you first before bringing her up to the room to see the princess" Oswald nodded

"Did anyone see you while you brought her inside?"

"No. The guards and maid had all retired when I got her into the palace. She is currently in the stables"

"And the villagers? The advisors? Do you think they will suspect anything?"

"No. I was discreet in my search for the witch"

The king nodded. "Okay, bring her up to the room, the door is open. Just knock twice and push it open when you return" Ross nodded and went back to get the witch.

King Oswald returned to meet his wife and daughter. He went to his daughter's bed.

"Was that Ross? What news did he bring?" Queen Harlow asked

"He found the witch" the king answered and a relived look crossed the queen's face.

The last healer they had brought to heal Princess Leia had promised that this witch would put an end to their daughter's illness. They had searched everywhere for her.

"Where is she then?" The queen asked

"Ross is bringing her up" and the queen returned her attention to her daughter who was lying stiffly and had not made any movement.

Her breathing was a bit loud and it was steady and that gave the queen hope.

Two knocks were heard on the door and it was pushed open. King Oswald stood up immediately alongside his wife. He wanted to greet the witch who had just come into the room with Ross.

The witch had a scowl on her face as she studied the room. She did that for a while and then her eyes landed on the little girl and she strolled further into the room ignoring the King and the queen.

The witch got to the Princess's bed and her long crooked nails trialed along the face of the little girl.

Leia's eyes opened immediately and she gasped in fear. The woman leaning over her was horrible to look at.

"Mama" Leia whispered in fright and her mother ran over to her and held her hand.

"Be calm my child. She is the one to heal you" Queen Harlow said as she drew soothing circles at the back of Leia's hands.

"There is no cure for her ailment" the witch announced in a cold voice.

"What?" Queen Harlow shouted and then She looked at her husband who stood confused and Ross as well.

"But... healer"

"Tena. Tena!!" The witch corrected

"But Tena you said...."

"I know what I said" Tena cut him off.

"Herbs you will give and remedies you will try but she will not be saved. Unless..."

"Unless what?" King Oswald asked impatiently.

"I'm willing and ready to do anything to ensure that my daughter is saved. Even if you want gold, silver, an estate, even a portion of my wealth. Anything you want just name it. I'll give anything for you to just heal my daughter" King Oswald added.

He had spent so much already. A couple tons of gold was nothing to him at this point. Leia was his only child. His heir and all he wanted was for her to survive this ailment.

The greedy advisors had been waiting for an opportunity to snoop in and take his place as king. If Leia were to die today, they will all get their chance but he will never allow that to happen.

This throne was his family legacy and he would stop at nothing to protect it from those vultures.

"Do not promise what you cannot give" Tena said moving away from the bed and facing the king. He was a desperate man making promises. He was going to say anything just for her to heal his child.

Tena looked back at the girl again. The only thought that came to her mind was dangerous but that was the only way to heal the girl of her ailment.

"I mean it when I say I'll do anything," the king said again

"There is a way" Tena announced and hope was kindled in the hearts of everyone.

"Tell me. what do we have to do?"

"Are you familiar with the tales of the succubus?" Tena asked the king

He looked confused. "Succubus?"

Tena nodded.

"What does that have to do with anything?" He asked

"They are an extinct specie. Well almost extinct. I have the soul of the last one" Tena said and the queen exchanged glances with the king.

"You have the spirit of a demon?" King Oswald asked in shock and Ross scoffed.

"She is telling tales. Succubus and incubus are myths" Ross said

"Your ignorance is glaring," Tena said to Ross

"Please continue. What can the soul of a Succubus do for my daughter" Oswald urged her

"The soul requires a body," Tena said

Queen Harlow understood what Tena was implying.

"You will not put a demon into my daughter"

"Harlow please" the king begged her. A calm voice as he went closer to her.

"You can't possibly be serious Oswald. Our daughter will be replaced by a demon?"

"Would you rather let her die?"

"My king. Two souls cannot reside in one body. If the soul of a demon is let into the princess's body, her soul will vanish. She will be dead" Ross said to the king and he tried to process what Ross was saying.

"Is this true?" He asked the witch who nodded.

"We can't do this" Harlow shook her head

"We have no option, my love. We have to save our daughter"

"Of what use is it when our daughter's soul will be gone, Oswald? You do not get it. She will no longer be our daughter. She will be a demon" the queen shouted.

A violent cough came from the bed and Harlow rushed over to her daughter. After the cough calmed down, the queen looked up to Tena who was already looking at her.

"You can look after her as your daughter, train her into what you want her to be. You do not realize the power you possess by having a demon as your child."

Tena turned to face King Oswald as she continued talking.

"You can wield her into any weapon of your choice and defeat all your enemies. No one will be able to challenge you ever again and she will never fall sick again"

"Noo. I can't do that to my daughter" Queen Harlow shouted as she shook her head

"The princess will not survive the night. The rippers are already preparing for her" Tena said in a bone-chilling voice.

Tena wanted the king and his wife to accept the demon. She was tired of bearing the burden of the succubus soul. She needed to deliver it into the body of another so she could be free.

King Oswald grabbed his wife to the corner of the room.

"What are you doing Harlow? We have searched for a cure for our daughter and now we have finally found one. You reject it?"

"It is not a cure Oswald. Can't you see that?" Harlow cried.

"So what do you want then? To bury our only daughter. We had waited ten years for a child Harlow. We finally got one and you're just going to let her go just like that?"

"I. I" queen Harlow tried to say something but Oswald was quick to cut her off.

"She will still be our daughter. Demon or not. All we have to do is love and protect her" the king said as he took his wife's hand.

The queen's force was diminishing already.

Was she selfish for not wanting her daughter to be posted by a demon in exchange for life? she thought

"I do not have much time" Tena shouted

"Okay," Harlow said softly, and Oswald kissed her forehead.

"We won't regret this," he said and then turned to face Tena.

"Let's do this," he said to her and there was a smirk on her face that the king and everyone else in the room had completely missed. Tena climbed the bed straddling the princess's body.

"What the hell are you doing?" Harlow crossed over to the woman seating on her frail and sick daughter.

"The transfer is not an easy one. I can only hold her down this way and if she resists too much we have no choice but to tie her down" Tena insisted

"I do not want this to fail. If we must hold her down for it to work, then let's do that now" the king said, nodding at Ross who disappeared through the door.

"Oswald...." Harlow shouted but was cut off immediately before she could finish.

"Just relax my love. But if it will be too much for you to handle, then I think you should wait outside until everything is over" King Oswald told his wife in a calm voice.

"No I will stay," she said.

Ross returned a few moments later with heavy chains. These chains were usually used on hardened criminals. The king and Ross moved over to the bed and began entwining her hands in the chains and The queen turned her eyes away from the heartbreaking sight.

"Mama, what's going on?" Leia asked as she glanced at the chains around her wrist.

"Don't worry my beautiful daughter. It will be over soon and everything will be okay. The woman is here to take away the sickness" the king said to his daughter.

"And will I be healed forever?" She asked curiously

"Yes darling" he replied

"Okay," Leia said and closed her eyes again and then the witch began her work.

Tena took off the long necklace hanging around her neck.

"You must not resist child" Tena murmured and then began to rub her thumb on the locket holding the spirit of the succubus.

"I have found you a home" Tena whispered as she opened the locket.

Then she lowered it till it was close to her mouth and then a black swirl came out in the air and then Tena forced the mouth of the princess open and then the black swirl moved restlessly over princess Leia's head before it finally entered her mouth.

Leia was calm for a while and then Tena climbed down from the bed.

"There was no need for the chains. She didn't even..." Harlow was cut short by Leia's body jerking violently.

"What's...." the king was about to ask a question

"Her soul is fighting the succubus. As expected"

Leia jerked violently against the chains. Her head turned to each side.

"She's hurting" Harlow cried and tried to cross over to help her daughter but her husband stopped her.

"Oswald we have to help her" she cried

"She will be fine," he said. King Oswald did not want anything to interrupt the process.

After a long while, Leia's body stilled and then Tena leaned over her and she opened her eyes. They were the lightest blue eyes.

"Release her" Tena ordered and then Ross went to unchain Leia. After he unchained her, she sat up in bed and looked around.

Harlow was tensed. She was scared her daughter might not recognize her as her mama.

"Mama. Mama" Leia called.

Queen Harlow sighed in relief before running over to her daughter.

"Did it work?" Oswald asked

"She is okay now. Isn't she?"

"Oh. My baby" Harlow hugged Leia and she returned the hug.

When Harlow pulled away, Leia looked around the room. She was a bit confused. She wondered why Ross and the woman were in her room.

"What is going on?" Leia asked

Queen Harlow and the king wondered if she didn't know she was sick.

"Nothing.. my dear" Harlow replied

"Then who is this woman? Why is she here in my room? Why are mama's eyes swollen?" Leia asked

"Too many questions my child. Something just got into your mother's eyes, that's why they are red and the woman...."

"It's time for me to leave" Tena interrupted

"Thank you," King Oswald said

Tena had just saved his daughter and even given him a greater gift. A demon under his control.

And with one last look at everyone, Tena was led out of that room by Ross. She was going to disappear and never be seen again by anyone and in a few years, the king will realize the consequences of his decisions, and then it would be too late to make a change.

The demon currently residing in the girl was in a weakened state. Everyone thought the spirit of the girl was killed. The body of the process now harboured two souls. As she fed the demon, it'll only become stronger and begin to suppress the human soul of the princess.

Four years later (Leia is eighteen years old)

Leia slumped tiredly against the wall. Her personal maid and friend tried to help her up.

"What's wrong with you?" Wren cried

"I... I... nee...need to get to the bed" Leia stuttered in a weak voice. Leia felt really weak.

Wren was worried, she helped the princess to the bed and covered her up. Then she ran out of the room to inform Queen Harlow. It was not difficult to find her, she was with the king and on hearing their daughter was ill, they both panicked.

The witch had promised that nothing would make Leia sick again.

The king and queen rushed to see Leia and when they got there she was looking really pale and sick.

"What is wrong with you my princess?" Queen Harlow asked

"I don't know mama. I feel so tired" she said

"Get Ross" king Oswald commanded the already frightened maid.

Wren ran out of the room in search of the huge man. Ross followed wren back to the princess's room when he heard how urgent it was.

"Ross we need to find that witch. Leia is sick" Oswald commanded

"How is that possible?" Ross asked

"No time to ask questions. Go and find her"

"But it's been three years my king"

"It does not matter Ross. Do everything you can to find her"

"I will my king"

Ross nodded before rushing out of the room to find Tena.

Queen Harlow sobbed beside her daughter's bed for the rest of the days as they waited for Ross to return with the witch.

It took three days before Ross returned back to the castle. But he came back without Tena. Instead, he came with an old man.

"This is not the witch," Oswald said immediately he saw the man.

"I'm not Tena. I am Kanoa and I can be of help" the old man said. They took the old man to the princess's room where she lay. And Kanoa assessed Leia.

"There is darkness within her. What did Tena do to help you"

"She... healed Leia once of an ailment" The king responded

"How did she do it?" Kanoa asked curiously

"She put the soul of a succubus into her," Harlow told the old man and his eyes widened.

"A succubus?"

"Yes.. and she told us our daughter was never going to fall sick again"

"Has she been fed?" The old man said

"Fed?" Harlow asked looking confused. The king as well.

"She ate this morning" Wren responded

"I'm not speaking about the normal food we humans eat. Succubus needs to feed to stay alive."

"What kind of feeding do you speak if then?" The king asked

"Sex," the old man said and Harlow gasped.

"My daughter is too young for such carnality" Harlow shouted

"That's the only way she can survive. Her demon will only remain immortal if she continues to feed"

"Immortal?" Oswald asked confused

"The succubus is an immortal demon but can die if it doesn't feed"

"Tena didn't mention anything about this. What can we do now?" The king asked

"There is nothing you can do but to feed the demon" Kanoa shrugged

King Oswald grabbed his clothes tightly.

"You said you could do what Tena does. Don't....."

"There is a way" Kanoa said immediately.

The king was looking very furious and he had become so scared for his life. He had no choice but to lie. When Ross had approached him, he had thought it was a minor sickness he could handle. He never for once imagined he would be dealing with a succubus.

The king released him and stepped back a little.

"What is the way?"

Humans had a natural greed in them and he had seen a flash of something flicker in the eyes of the King at the mention of immortality.

"The demon can be removed from her body," the old man said

"How?"

Kanoa thought quickly. "The blood of a vampire. Pure at heart. It is needed for a ritual to take the soul away from your daughter."

"Let's do it," Queen Harlow said quickly and king Oswald concurred but he had other ideas in his mind.

"While we try to find the blood of a vampire pure at heart, how do we feed her now?"

"Since she is under age, she can feed from other people having sex. The sexual energy would be okay for now but as she grows, she would need to get the energy directly from the source but you must note that continuous sex with a single person will kill them" and the king nodded.

"How does that work?" Harlow asked.

"She needs to be present in the room when others have sex" Kanoa explained.

The queen looked uncomfortable with the idea but it was far better than making her daughter have sex at this age.

"Let us speak outside for a while," the king said to the old man. Ross followed them outside but stood a bit far from them as they spoke.

"What happens to the demon after it is removed from her?" King Oswald asked

"It can be killed if you want"

"No. I want it transferred to me"

"Transferred to you? You want to be immortal?"

"Yes. That is what I want" king Oswald confirmed.

"I forgot to tell you. The succubus soul has taken over your daughter and if the demon is taken away from her, she is likely to die, except you can get a soul to replace hers"

"I'll do what needs to be done" the king waved him off.

"Thank you for your help. I'll make sure you are rewarded greatly"

"Thank you, my king," Kanoa said bowing before king Oswald.

King Oswald stopped Ross when Kanoa was a feet away.

"Nothing discussed here must be let out of this place. You know what to do"

Ross nodded at the king. The old man had to die. Everyone had seen him come in here and the king didn't want the advisors or villagers to know why the old man was at the palace in the first place.

The king returned to the princess's room. Queen Harlow and her maid were still there waiting. The king looked at Wren for a while. Wren was three years older than the princess and since she was already aware of the situation, she would help in Leia's feeding.

Ross returned a few moments later and nodded at the king. The king smiled knowing what that meant.

"What happens here must never be revealed to another. This is a secret" his hard gaze landed on Wren.

"You and Ross will help the princess feed. You should be honored" the king said to her.

Wren had no choice, the family had been good to her and it was only right for her to help in any way she could.

The king and queen were present for Leia's first feeding and the ones that followed after until Leia was old enough to feed.

When Leia had become mature enough she was sent to a house far away with her maid Wren. King Oswald ignored the warning of Kanoa and made his daughter sleep with a male until he was drained completely and died.
