Chapter 1 The monsters from her nightmare

1. The monsters from her nightmare

Sapphire Blue Pack,

Texas,

"Aria, this is for table five." Aria nodded at her coworker as she placed the empty tray back on the counter.

She just returned after delivering the orders for table fifteen and others were already waiting for her.

"Yes, Mandie." There were three trays occupied with a mountain of French fries, two buckets of crispy chicken wings and five big glasses of coke floating with bubbles on the top.

Painful expressions crossed her features as she looked at it. Out of all the other waitresses that worked here, she did the most work. She sighed and reached for the trays of coke and French fries and swung back to deliver them to the hungry customers.

Dine and Date was among the busiest fast food centers in the pack that never went without sales in a day. There were customers flooding in all the time. The food here was tasty and mouth watering and attracted an end number of customers daily.

Her pace was rushed and prompt, she balanced each tray in her hands. She walked steadily in her converse shoes with a smile on her face. Although the waitresses here were supposed to wear high heels along with black and white uniforms as per the norms, Aria smoothly walked in her shoes. Carrying orders in hands while balancing on six inches high heels was not something she thought she could do

She swept a gaze over the room at other waitresses. Then peered at herself. She was not only an exception who wore shoes against high heels but also an odd one out who preferred trousers against short skirts.

There were two kinds of uniforms available for the females for selection. One was black trousers paired up with a white shirt for a uniform. Second was a skirt with a shirt and a black tie. She chose the former alternative.

Unlike the other waitresses who preferred as long heels as they could carry along with tight barely-there skirts- which earned them a good amount of tip that was double or triple of what Aria earned as her salary- she was comfortable wearing trousers.

There was just one pathetic, self made policy that every waitress followed. It was that- The more seductively you dress the more handsome tip you take home from the customers'

Since the majority of them were males who only came here to enjoy the hot sight of beautiful waitresses leaning against their tables, and showing off their bare cleavages or round curvy asses from under their short skirts, the waitresses here earned tips which were more satisfying than their salaries.

But Aria was different. An exception. She reveled in the comfort of trousers and a shirt buttoned to the neck. To make it look less boring, she threw a waistcoat on it that she purchased from a thrift store. Correction... It was not a thrift stone in her perspective. It was a mall for Aria.

Not that she desired to make money using her body as bait. She was happy with her earnings. Even if it was as low as seven hundred dollars per month.

Aria shook her head and focused. It was not the time to think about her status or appearance. Fear snarled in her chest as she was to approach the monsters from her nightmare.

Regarding the five guys sitting on table five, Aria's body tensed. She attempted to present herself regularly. Unfortunately, adrenaline kicked in like overflowing streams in her veins. They were horrible. They were... Her Bullies.

Dilane Scotswood, Kai Sinclair, Neil Weaver, Oliver Paterson and Zack Archer were best friends- and cut from the same cloth. They got a thrill out of bullying the weak ones.

'Don't be frightened, Aria. Just smile and face them, and quickly run off once you put the trays on the table. There's no need to be scared. This is your job, alright.'

She tried to motivate herself. But fear ate her insides for the guys were dangerous. She closed her eyes defeatedly and took deep breaths. Even self-motivation could be of no help at this moment!

"Sir, your order," With a shaky voice, I spoke while placing the two trays on the circular large table.

The five pairs of eyes upturned to settle on her face. Smirks burst on their lips while she struggled to keep her shoulders straight.

"Look, guys, it's Aria. I always forget that she works here. How are you, babe." Dilane wickedly smiled as he took her hand to kiss the back of it.

She flinched back so as to make a safe distance from the table. Aria's heart thrummed in her chest as the others winked and devilishly gawked at her as if she was what they craved to taste at this moment than the order they placed.

"I... I w-will go and get the remaining of your orders, Sir." She hurriedly spoke and whirled around to bail out.

They were her classmates. Aria didn't shrink in fear because she was scared of them. Although that was one of the many reasons, what really shook her insides was because they came from wealthy upper-class werewolf families whereas she was an Omega.

Although there wasn't no discrimination in the Sapphire Blue Pack, the young wolves treated the ones belonging to the omega class like shit as though they were plague personified. And these guys from her school that she was battling to get away from were known to have a thing for the Omegas. Not a good thing!

"Wait darling," Aria's body ceased all motions including breathing as Neil grabbed her wrist.

He sat on the edge of his seat, holding her wrist as he smirked. "Neil, I work here. Please let go. My boss will screw me if he sees this." She uttered in a trembling voice.

Neil smirked wider and got up from his chair. Taking a look around the room, he pulled Aria closer.

"Oh sweetheart, your manager is not around. You need not freak out." He trailed a finger on her jaw.

Her cheeks heated up as her heart climbed up in her chest. Aria struggled to get out of his hold looking to her right side over the counter where her co-worker, Jennifer, was witnessing everything with reproachful glare that screamed- You shouldn't be doing this.

Jennifer's appraisal skipped her breaths. She disliked Aria. In her eyes, Aria was a greedy selfish bitch. She made her skin scorching hot as her hair stood in amazement. She prayed to god to get her out of this mess.

"Neil please," She turned back to him and pleaded.

Since Jennifer loathed her, she wouldn't mind going as far as submitting a complaint against Aria to their boss- saying that she was flirting with the customers during her shift. She had made her intention known to Aria that she was eagerly looking forward to seeing her kicked out of this place. This seemed like a valid chance for her.

"Neil, let go!"

Something flickered in his eyes-his bad intentions and lust.

He drew her closer to him, "Okay fine, I will let you go, Aria. But on one condition!"

She gulped the knot that was clogging her throat, "Wh-what is it?"

"Give me a kiss on the lips." He articulated with a wink and the creepy fingers of silence wrapped around the room.

Shock held her immobile as Aria couldn't breathe.

'Nope, I will not give my first kiss to him.'

Chapter 2 Got away by an inch

2. Got away by an inch

Silence befell, and the crowded hall turned eerily still. Every existing soul was rendered motionless as they stared in the direction of table number five.

All the gazes burned holes in Aria's back. To say she was used to all the ignorance and cold treatment everyone gave her. As every eyeball appraised her at this moment, she prayed for the windows to burst open. She wished for a tornado to sweep her out of the room and take her away.

Aria lacked the courage to face or fight them, so she did what she could to avoid their gaze! She shut her eyes tight, cutting out the sight of this nightmare. But her life was a nightmare in itself, and there was nothing that could stop this from happening. This was inevitable.

Her body turned white, and she shut her eyelids tighter. Blood drained from her cheeks as Aria waited for the touch of his lips to fall on her own.

Great! She was going to lose her first kiss to a bully. An undeserving, filthy bully who all but respected her.

"Stay right where you are with your bloody mouth, Neil Weaver!"

A voice boomed over her shoulder, making a trembling course through her. Bewitching cologne that she contemplated as smoky wood hit her nostrils. It fluttered her heart and twisted her guts.

'Jake!!!' Aria whispered his name as he stopped beside her.

His muscled arm brushed against her skinny one and sent a current of nervousness slamming into her. She forgot to breathe as she peered at him.

His dark as midnight eyes set ablaze as he regarded the five bullies. Aria lifted a hand to touch her chest as her heart raced fervently through the corridor of her chest, pounding with an unstoppable intensity.

"Jake. Calm down, buddy. We're just having fun. No big deal." Neil moved backwards while raising his hands in surrender. "You can ask Aria if you don't trust me."

Grasping the front of Neil's shirt, Jake growled grimly in his face, "No big deal? She's freaking white from all the panic you injected into her. Do you think that's not a big deal?"

Shockwaves scattered throughout Aria's being. Was he speaking in her defense? Jake Ragnar, the future Alpha of the Sapphire Blue Pack, was speaking for her, the omega who couldn't help herself.

She pierced her nail in the pit of her palm. The biting pain made awareness seep into her consciousness that this was not a delusion.

"Why are you overreacting, buddy? Calm down. I am your friend and you know I-"

"Exactly! Because you are my friend, I know what a jerk you can be in situations like these. You better not bother her again. Do you get that?"

"Okay, fine. Let go of me."

Jake looked to his side at Aria's face as he released Neil with a jerk. The corner of his mouth twitched, sending a thousand butterflies dancing in her belly.

"I apologize for their behavior, Aria. You can go back to work." The world dimmed around the edges as she scrutinized his mouth and the small smile it sported.

"T-thank you." Aria mumbled, feeling a sense of gratitude wash over her.

He not only saved her from the torment of physical abuse, but he also safeguarded her from the dire consequences of being expelled from her job. She was so glad, but she couldn't express it with anything more than a mumbled thank you.

"Aria," She had barely moved when Jake called her.

His voice caught her heart aghast. It started palpitating at an abnormal rate, which did not go unnoticed by Jake. Aria felt him close the gap between them and stop a hair-breadth away from her. Yet he was so close that the warmth of his body infiltrated her spine.

"I want to apologize to you on their behalf! Look what they have done to you. You are trembling!"

It was after he mentioned this that Aria realized she was indeed shivering. It was not because of her classmates who bullied her; rather, it was because of him, Jake Ragnar, the pack's alpha-bearer and son of the alpha.

"Th-at is completely okay. But... they didn't do anything. It is just that I am too shy to face people." She lied since she didn't want to mess with Neil and his friends and avoid the future aftermath.

Jake could only save her once from them, not always. Furthermore, Aria could not take the chance, given that these guys would find a way to bother her because they were that bad.

"You can not even lie properly, and you do not have to. I have seen and heard everything!" She lowered her gaze to the floor before he noticed the glimmer in her eyes that emerged because of him.

This was her first ever close encounter with Jake Ragnar, and she already lied to him. What must he be thinking of her now? Aria stood there with her back still facing him. She didn't have any courage to face him. Her stomach was in knots and her heart slowly climbing up to her throat.

This was his effect on her. No wonder she had a crush on him!

Even though they were classmates, Aria didn't see him until it was the freshmen party. He was sweet to talk with. No, she didn't talk to him, as she didn't get any chance to. She had just seen glimpses of him talking with his friends with a warm smile. He was different, unlike other alpha kids who are arrogant and vile and consider others low.

Aria often wondered about his mate. So did others. He celebrated his eighteenth birthday a few months ago, and he still hasn't found his mate.

Jake was least bothered by her. Unlike other wolves, he refused to go look for her. He believed she would come when she wanted to come. Until then, he would enjoy his life.

But he has a girlfriend. A beautiful she-wolf who complimented his title yet contradicted his nature She was a narcissistic bully. Veronica, the daughter of the pack's leading businessman and Alpha Ragnar's friend.

Her lungs snarled for oxygen as Aria refused to breathe. She didn't move either. Afraid that he might bring his gaze to appraise her. She waited for him to set her free from the invisible boundary of powers he drew around her. It was as if her movements depended on his commands, like it typically happens for typical omegas.

But he was indescribably different! Because what he did next shocked her to the very core.

Jake put his hand on her shoulder and made her turn around. His smile on his glowing handsome face came to her view, and she saw him assuring her, "You don't have to be scared of anyone. Not when I am your alpha to be. I will make sure that these assholes never mistreat you again." He cast a glance toward her bullies over the table, and they apologized to her one by one.

"I am sorry, Aria. I didn't mean to frighten you." Dilane said.

"It was a joke. We would never do it to you."

"We are sorry as well." They apologized, taking her by surprise.

"Th-that's ok-okay..." She hesitantly mouthed, not sure if they did it out of regret or Jake's fear.

To her dismay, the expressions on their faces indicated both.

"Alright then, I assume you will keep your apology in mind and never mess with her." Jake said before letting her go away.

'Goddess! Why do I get so nervous around him all the time?' Aria wondered as she came back to the counter.

She was not pretty enough that the future alpha would help, was she?

Tbc...

His best friends are Dilane, Kai, Neil, Zack, and Oliver.

Chapter 3 What are his intentions

3. What are his intentions?

Aria occupied herself back with her work. She neared the tables with the orders, "Enjoy your order, ma'am." with a bright smile on her face.

She had long forgotten that she had encountered a scenario where she had almost lost her first kiss as well as the job. Now the way she greeted her customers it did not look like she was even bothered a minute ago.

She worked zealously, accepted whatever tip she received for her kindness and strode back to the counter in order to deliver the orders that were waiting to be dispatched.

"You are too lucky, bitch! I heard the alpha's son barely helps anyone or takes any action against anyone, but he did for you. What exactly did you do in the morning before starting your day? Do tell me as I need the same luck. It has been a long time since I last got laid with an upper class hot wolf." Her twenty two years old, kinky and curvy coworker, Jennifer uttered as she leaned on the counter, her eyes looking in the direction of table number five where Jake sat with his bully friends.

Aria followed her gaze. She affixed her eyes on his figure and worried her lower lip between her teeth. Her toes curled as heady feelings filled her to the rim.

Jake resembled a hot model from a fashion magazine with glossy pages. He had a strong well-built body girls loved to drool on. Thick charcoal hair always cascading his forehead, sharp jaw and gait that caused haywire to every girls' system.

His smile was a killer. His coal black irises had an undefining glint alongside a sharp gaze which could set anyone's heart on fire.

She was quietly staring at him, regarding his features deeply and silently. As if he was aware that she was looking at him, he swung his head in the direction. His lips curved up, making Aria's heart flutter. She could not withdraw her gaze away.

His left brow disappeared under the shadow of his charcoal hair covering his head as Jake waved at her. Her hackles rose and Aria quickly averted her gaze to her co-worker, Jennifer, whose eyes were narrowed.

She often had eye-contact with other guys. Yet they never unnerved her. He was different. Different from all.

Maybe because it was not associated with lust or an urgency to drag her into bed. Maybe just a friendly gaze you would see any kind guy give. His depicted concern. Everything but lust or negative intentions.

"He isn't looking here anymore. And please, stop acting like he's here for you." Jennifer scoffed as she rolled her eyes.

"That would rarely happen to you. And only in your nightmares. Don't trust such guys, Aria. They are good charmers and pretty expert disposers!"

Aria blinked her eyes. Jennifer was a girl with a big mouth. She always spurted venom.

Realizing that Aria was unable to comprehend the meaning of her words, Jennifer shook her head annoyingly. She let out a hiss as she pulled Aria in the corner.

"You are a foolish human. Has someone ever told you that!"

Looking down at her shoes, Aria clenched her jaw. She wasn't told that she was foolish. But people often rebuked her calling her a freak in the pack given that she was born a human.

Although she was eighteen, she didn't shift on her birthday night. Not on the following night or day. Her father was the Hunter in the pack and when he was asked to submit information regarding her first shift and all that followed right after, he disclosed that she couldn't turn.

She was a human born to a strong fighter wolf. A disguised curse for him and the pack.

Aria ignored the distress thoughts and focused on Jennifer.

"They will impress you with such looks and smiles, and when you have warmed their beds and coated their shafts with your virgin blood, they will dispose you off like someone disposing rubbish in a trashcan."

A shiver of fright crawled up Aria's back. She gulped a knot down her throat as Jennifer acknowledged her anxiety with a smirk.

"You better stay away from such guys, Aria. Come to think of Jake, he's our future alpha. He'll never want an omega like you." They both looked up at him, laughing with his friend.

Although Aria's heart skipped at the sight of his laugh, Jennifer's words made frosty fingers of dread close around her throat.

"Rumor has it that he's found his mate but rejected her because she was an omega. That pretty sums up what he's looking for. He wants a fighter she-wolf to be his Luna. Not anyone like you or me."

Aria shifted her gaze elsewhere and sighed. She wondered why she was listening to all that. Not that she was a wolf or could be his mate. Or anyone's mate.

She reached for the new trays of order and resumed her work. She saw him getting up to leave while she was placing the order on the adjacent table.

'As if I am someone he would be interested in!' A sigh broke from her lips before Aria sported a friendly smile on her face and engrossed in her work.

Outside the resturant,

With the never fading smile, Jake strutted absentmindedly with his friends. His arm lingered around Neil's shoulders, eyes gleaming golden under the blazing sun.

"Dude, she is a foolish chick. You can easily have her if you really think she's worth your time. Why do you have to make us play the devil in her life and come save her?" Neil frowned.

Jake winked and refused to offer a verbal answer.

"Come on, home. What the fuck is wrong with you!" Neil exclaimed.

He jerked away Jake's hand as fury overcame him.

"You have to tell us. I'm pissed at being the bully in this story."

Dilane nodded in agreement, "I don't even look like a bully. Look at my innocent face."

"Yeah, very innocent!" Jake snapped as others rolled their eyes.

"I love to mess around. But Aria? You've got to be kidding me, Ragnar." Kai, his best friend, kicked his ass. "If anything, I want to pet her head. She's as cute as a kitten. Why bother her? What are your intentions, Jake?"

"Nothing." Jake replied with a smile.

Frustration marred each of their faces as they stifled the urge to smack him in the face.

"If it's nothing then why do you visit her restaurant frequently and make us bother her?" Oliver growled.

"I've seen him stealing glances of Aria during lectures and in the canteen too." Zack announced, widening everyone's eyes.

"I'm telling you he is in love with her." Neil said.

His remark made no difference in Jake's expression. Not even a little bit. But that smile, that smile on his mouth depicted there was something.

"Why her? She's not even a wolf. She is a bloody human, Jake. You can find yourself a stronger and more beautiful girl than her."

Making a face, Jake distanced himself from his friends.

"I don't like her."

"Then why do you ask us to bully her?" Kai glared at him.

Jake parted his lips to say something. But his wolf warned him and he turned his gaze away.

"I will tell you guys when it is time. Just keep doing it for me."

"Seriously?" They stared at him and Jake rolled his eyes.

"I swear I'll tell you one day. Can we please go to the soccer match now?" He announced, once and for all, ending the conversation before they hopped into Kai's Mercedes and left.
