"Ella, I've always believed that love knows no boundaries, and no matter how hard I resist this feeling, it persists." "I'm trying to say that I'm in love with you." It was a symphony, a whirlwind of emotions as if the stars had descended to dance in the vast expanse of my heart. William said he loved me, and I love him too. "It is just so unfortunate because my duties as a prince and being the only heir to the throne have their price." He said sadly. "What do you mean? I know you have duties and responsibilities, and I understand that, but why are you so sad?" I asked him. "I am betrothed to Princess Andrea of a neighboring kingdom." "The truth is that our hearts often have different plans." "I find myself drawn to you in ways I couldn't have foreseen." He said sadly.

Chapter 1 Our Very First Meeting

My father was a remarkable merchant who traveled to distant kingdoms in pursuit of rare treasures. These treasures found their way to the wealthiest nobles and royal highnesses through his skillful trade, making us a family of great wealth. My father's unwavering work ethic had forged this prosperity, a testament to his dedication.

I had the privilege of accompanying my father to the palace when I was thirteen.

"Father, can you bring me with you to the palace?" I asked excitedly.

"The palace is no place for children." He had hesitated.

"Please, Father, I want to see the grandeur and majestic beauty of the palace inside." I insisted. My eyes pleaded with him.

Finally, he gave in to my pleas. "Okay, promise you will behave and wait patiently for me?" He sighed in defeat.

"Of course I will," I said victoriously.

Tales of colorful fish and idyllic lakes captured my imagination as they spoke of this palace. It was said that the court had been built alongside this serene lake, with countless vibrant fish, and sometimes, even the royal family would embark on small boats for picnics. I longed to witness this palace, the lake, and the gardens, so I insisted on accompanying my father.

When we finally arrived, I had brought along my pet, Mr. Fluffy. I had him securely leashed and carried a small bag for him. I intended to ensure he remained safe while I explored the palace grounds. I had set up a quilt near the lake and began searching for a suitable tree to provide some shade. I aimed to spend a leisurely day by the water's edge.

The sight that greeted me was nothing short of spectacular. The palace was a resplendent marvel, but the true wonder lay in its gardens and the captivating lake. It was a place of serenity and beauty, blessed with numerous trees and flowers. I relaxed on my quilt, gazing at the tranquil water, my beloved Mr. Fluffy by my side.

However, my father was absorbed in conversation and engaged with the royal family and noble friends. Though he was preoccupied, I couldn't help but marvel at the breathtaking beauty that enveloped me, an enchanting world I had longed to see with my own eyes.

Mr. Fluffy got out of the bag I had brought. With a gentle hand, I fastened his leash, securing it to a sturdy branch above so he could roam freely within the boundaries of my choice.

As the afternoon wore on, I surrendered to the scene's tranquility and succumbed to the allure of a short nap. Mr. Fluffy nestled beside me and his leash fastened to the branch overhead. I began to sing my heart out. My dreamlike singing was eventually interrupted by the arrival of an unexpected visitor-an orange cat. It was a charming sight, and while I couldn't discern its gender, it seemed mature compared to Mr. Fluffy.

My fluffy feline appeared slightly apprehensive in the presence of this more enormous, seemingly friendly orange cat. I marveled at the scene and then decided to approach the cat cautiously.

"Hello, kitty. Where did you come from?" I asked it as I touched its thick fur.

"You are so pretty and magnificent," I said, stroking its head.

Just as our unexpected camaraderie began to take shape, a boy appeared.

" Leo," The boy called out. He is the owner of the cat.

I was taken aback; this boy was a stranger, and I hadn't noticed his presence until that moment. He was tall and handsome. His clear blue eyes were looking at me curiously. Despite the surprise, his demeanor seemed amiable, which put me at ease. He approached and introduced himself.

"Hello, I'm Prince William, what is your name? He asked curiously.

"Hello, I'm Ella," I replied shyly and felt my cheeks blushing. He was staring at me. I have never seen a boy as gorgeous as him.

"Your cat is magnificent, your highness," I told him.

With a smile, he responded. "My pet's name is Leo, and he's not just an ordinary cat; he's a tiger."

"A tiger?" I exclaimed, genuinely surprised.

"What's the difference between a tiger and a cat?

I've never seen anything like this before." I said while looking at Leo with awe.

The prince smiled gently and explained, "Tigers and domestic cats share the same family, Felidae. So, in a way, you could say they are distant cousins, both belonging to the feline lineage. However, they are vastly different because tigers are majestic creatures that inhabit dense forests and are born wild, while Leo here is my pet."

"The story of Leo, my pet tiger, was intriguing. He was a gift to my father from the King of another kingdom, a symbol of the strong bonds between our nations. My father, in turn, bestowed this extraordinary gift upon me, making Leo a cherished part of our family." He said with pride.

"That's wonderful," I replied, "Mr. Fluffy, my cat, was also a gift from my father."

The prince raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "But Mr. Leo is not an ordinary cat. He will grow much bigger than your typical domestic cat."

"How big do you think Leo will get?" I asked.

The prince leaned in to share some fascinating insights. "Leo will grow impressively large, much bigger than a dog and possibly even as big as a donkey. " I was surprised by his closeness as I stared at his exquisite features. He had shiny blond hair and I think he is a bit older than me. Unlike other boys at my age, he is clean and smells good.

"Tigers in the wild can become giants with massive paws and fearsome teeth."

"They're known to be formidable when encountered in their natural habitat, and their size commands respect."

"However, since Leo has grown up with humans, he's just like a big baby, harmless and gentle." He explained.

I listened in awe, considering the captivating journey Leo would embark on from a tiny cub to a magnificent tiger. "That's truly amazing," I said, grateful for the fascinating information, and told myself not to stare at him.

The prince smiled and modestly replied, "It was my pleasure to share these insights with you." I felt my cheeks flush while looking at his grinning face. He was very handsome.

The prince and I shared a moment of camaraderie under the cool shade of a sprawling tree near the palace gardens. The conversation had flowed easily, like a gentle stream winding through the forest. As we sat there, watching our pets, I couldn't help but be captivated by the prince's insights and natural curiosity.

He leaned closer and inquired, "Do you have a tutor who shares knowledge with you, Ella?" I shook my head and replied, "No, I don't have a tutor. But my father brings me books from his travels, and I read them. I believe there's so much to learn from the pages of a book." I felt like my heart skipped a bit whenever he leaned closer to me.

The prince nodded, his eyes alive with genuine interest. "Books can be our greatest teachers, unveiling the world's wonders within their pages."

Curiosity led the prince to ask, "So, what brings you here today, Ella? What is your purpose in the palace?"

I explained, "I'm here waiting for my father inside the palace. He's a merchant and comes to present his treasures and goods. My father has an affinity for selling unique items, including rare books, jewelry, and timepieces."

The prince leaned in closer, a hint of intrigue in his eyes. "It seems your father is fascinated with the extraordinary, just like mine. He has an eye for the rare and beautiful." Oh my God, I can't stop myself from blushing. Why did I feel like this when he came closer? I've never felt like this with other boys outside the palace.

I nodded, acknowledging the truth of his observation. "Yes, my father does have a penchant for the extraordinary."

I returned the question, my curiosity piqued, "May I ask what brings you to this part of the palace, Your Highness? You're all alone."

Chapter 2 My Prince

The prince's gaze shifted, and there was a hint of vulnerability in his expression. "I'm searching for my beloved tiger. He's my cherished companion, and I sensed he might enjoy the company of your cat. He appears somewhat lonely without any playmates."

We observed our pets playing together, their friendly antics bringing smiles to our faces.

"They do look rather endearing, like brothers," I remarked.

The prince agreed, "Yes, indeed. It's as if they have a deep connection already.

"I can't help but wonder if they'll remain as close when they grow larger. Leo, my tiger, will surely become a massive beast."

"Our pets were more than just animals; they were sources of comfort, companionship, and joy."

I shared my sentiments with the prince, "Mr. Fluffy, my cat, brings a lot of happiness into my life. He eases the loneliness that sometimes creeps in. I lost my mother when I was very young, and I don't have any siblings. It's just my father, me, and Mr. Fluffy."

The prince listened with empathy, acknowledging the void that loss had left in our lives.

"I can relate. My mother passed away when I was just a baby. I'm the only child, and life in the palace can sometimes be quite solitary." I sensed the prince's loneliness as he spoke despite his princely exterior.

Our conversation was interrupted as my father approached us, signaling it was time to return home. "Ella, my dear, it's time to go," my father gently declared. The prince understood, a hint of disappointment flashing across his face.

"Father, I have met Prince William," I told my father about my new friend, and he smiled at the prince. "It's nice to meet you, your highness." He said while bowing. The prince replied, "It's nice to meet you too, sir."

Prince William turned to me and said, "I have to leave now, but I hope to see you again when you return with your father. We can share stories and explore the gardens further."

I nodded eagerly, the prospect of future meetings bringing warmth to my heart. "I would love that, Your Highness. Until we meet again."

As the seasons transitioned, the gardens transformed, revealing their diverse beauty. We would often meet under the tree that had witnessed our first encounter. I sang my songs, and Prince William said that he was my number one fan. The tree's once barren branches were now adorned with lush foliage, casting dappled shadows that danced upon the earth below.

One bright morning, I arrived at the palace gardens with Mr. Fluffy. The sun's gentle rays kissed my skin, and a light breeze played with my hair as I approached our meeting spot. Leo, as always, greeted us with his majestic presence, his sleek form exuding an aura of grace and strength.

The prince soon joined us, his eyes lighting up with delight. "Ella, it's wonderful to see you again," he said warmly. "And Mr. Fluffy, of course. How have you both been?" I felt a sudden flutter in my heart every time I saw his handsome face. He was only 15 yrs. old but he was well-mannered for his age. He treated me like a lady even if I was only 13 yrs. old that time.

I smiled in return, feeling the camaraderie we had developed over time. "We've been well, thank you, Your Highness. Life has been full of pleasant surprises since our first meeting."

Leo approached, nuzzling against me as if to express his joy. I extended my hand, gently patting his head. "And how have you and Leo been, Your Highness?"

The prince chuckled, his bond with his feline friend evident. "We've been as close as ever. Leo and I make a great team, don't we, boy?" Leo responded with a contented purr, and the prince continued, "I've been looking forward to our conversations."

"Your Highness, hearing about life in the palace is captivating. The finery and details must be fascinating." I felt my cheeks flush again into a bright pink.

"Indeed, the palace holds wonders, but it can sometimes feel confining. The weight of responsibility sometimes overshadows the finery." He nodded.

I don't understand this lovely feeling whenever I see his smiling face but he does make me feel this way without so much effort.

"Someday, you will have the power to change people's lives, which is very important," I told him. Indeed, this man will have an even more challenging responsibility in the future.

Prince William was smiling. "It demands dedication and commitment, don't they?"

"Absolutely! You manage the realm, but it's not just duty; it's an opportunity to nurture and protect what's dear to us." I agreed. I can't hide my admiration for him.

"Well said, Ella. And beyond our duties, what dreams do you hold? What stirs your heart?" He asked curiously.

I reflected, "I've always been drawn to nature, Your Highness. The blooming gardens and whispering trees are like melodies that speak to my soul. I dream of tending to a garden of my own one day, where every petal tells a story."

The reality is it's you who stirred my heart my dear William, but of course, I can't tell that to him. I was thinking this and I think I'm going to melt if he knows this.

"A garden, you say? How wondrous! There's a serenity in cultivating life, watching it flourish and thrive under your care. Your passion for nature is truly admirable." Prince William said while grinning.

"And Your Highness, what dreams fill your heart beyond the palace walls?" I asked curiously. I hope it's me. I thought dreamily.

Prince William was gazing into the distance. "My dream? To rule with fairness and kindness, uplift my people, and make decisions that better their lives. It's a responsibility that goes beyond the crown; it's about serving and ensuring the well-being of all."

"Your compassion for your people shines through, Prince William. It's a noble dream that speaks volumes about your character." I said with admiration but hoped it was me that could fill his heart. I sighed.

Prince William was smiling. "Thank you, Ella. Our dreams may differ in scope, but they share a common thread-the desire to nurture and protect, whether a garden or a kingdom."

"Yes, indeed. A shared aspiration to create and safeguard the beauty around us, in whichever form it takes." I agreed.

One day, as we strolled amidst the gardens, I couldn't help but admire the vibrant flowers that adorned the palace grounds. "Your Highness," I said, "the palace gardens are breathtaking. The diversity of flowers and their colors is truly captivating. I've read about exotic flowers from distant lands. Do you have any of those in your gardens?"

The prince nodded; his expression filled with pride. "Indeed, Ella. The palace gardens house an array of exotic blooms and gifts from different lands. Let me show you one of my favorites."

We walked to a secluded corner of the garden, and there it was – an extraordinary orchid unlike any I had ever seen. Its petals were a vibrant shade of indigo with delicate patterns resembling constellations in a night sky.

"The Starry Night Orchid," the prince explained. "It's native to a land far to the east and only blooms for a few days each year. Its rarity and beauty make it a treasure within our gardens." He was staring at me intently with those captivating eyes again.

I gazed at the flower in awe, admiring the intricate details of the petals. "It's exquisite, Your Highness. To think that something so unique can be found here is truly remarkable."

The prince smiled. "It's a reminder of the rich cultures and treasures our kingdom is fortunate to be a part of."

As we continued our walks through the garden, I tripped and nearly fell but he caught me. I felt something when he held me, even if it was just an accident. 'Oh, my goodness, I felt my cheeks blush' and ever so gentlemanly, he helped me up.

Chapter 3 My father's Surprise

Our friendship deepened. We shared moments of laughter, exchanged secrets and dreams, and discussed topics ranging from the stars that adorned the night sky to the wonders of the animal kingdom.

One afternoon, I shared my fascination with the diverse bird species that graced our estate. "Your Highness, so many beautiful birds visit our gardens. I often watch them; their colors and songs resemble a living symphony."

The prince's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I'd love to hear more about them, Ella. Can you describe some of the birds you've seen?"

"Of course, the melodious nightingales, the vibrant peacocks that strutted in their resplendent plumage, and the playful sparrows that filled the air with their cheerful chirping. That's just some of the birds that frequented our garden. With awe and wide-eyed excitement, I told him about them. "And at night I can hear the wise old owl that roosted in the ancient oak tree near our estate"

The prince listened with rapt attention, and his fascination was evident. "Ella, your descriptions bring the beauty of your world to life. It's as if I can hear the birds' songs and see their vibrant plumage before me. Thank you for sharing your world with me."

Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw a sugar plum tree brimming with fruits, "Your Highness, have you tasted that plum?" Its fruit was shining like it was inviting me to take a bite.

"I don't really know because I don't eat anything that is not served on the table," He was confused as to why I was asking.

"Really? I want to taste that shall we climb?" I was tempted, I think I'm going to drool any second now.

My suggestion took him aback. "I haven't climbed a tree before." He said in amusement. I just felt my heart flip at just looking at his cute face.

"I can do it your majesty, you just have to catch the plums," I said smiling.

"Okay, I can do that"

I climbed the tree and gathered as much as I could and threw it to him and he was enjoying himself while catching the fruit one at a time. 'Hmm wow, he is a good catcher and had very fast reflex at that.' I was so engrossed with gathering as much as I could when the branch suddenly broke. I just fell and I didn't know what happened but I think he tried to catch me and break my fall but I found myself on top of him on the ground. The most embarrassing part happened when both of our lips accidentally touched in an instant.

A blush crept on my face. He just stares at me for a while before standing on his feet and assisting me to do the same.

Days passed, each brimming with its unique adventures. As I arrived home that day, my father, regrettably, had to set off again, leaving me in the company of our humble abode. Despite his absence, I cherished these moments of solitude.

Singing was my solace, my connection to the world beyond our walls. My voice danced through the rooms, filling them with vibrancy that often transported me to distant realms.

During these moments, I felt most alive, and my faithful companion, Mr. Fluffy, would curl up beside me, basking in the warmth of my songs.

I think of the prince from time to time but I need a carriage to go there, it's a bit far from our home. I miss our time together.

On quieter days, I'd choose the companionship of books. Time would melt away, and I'd emerge from those literary journeys with a heart filled with tales yet untold. Then, the day finally arrived.

I stood by the door, eagerly awaiting my father's return. The door swings open, revealing my father, Mr. Oliver, who steps inside, accompanied by Lady Clarissa, an embodiment of elegance, and two young girls, Belle and Lindsay. My eyes widen in surprise and curiosity.

"Father! You've returned sooner than expected. And who might these lovely guests be?" I asked with curiosity.

By his side stood a woman, her beauty as captivating as a painting. Her golden curls cascaded like a sunlit waterfall, framing her face with an ethereal glow. It was a puzzling sight, one that left me with questions.

My Father was beaming, "Ella, my dear, meet Lady Clarissa. She's your new mother and these charming girls are your sisters, Belle and Lindsay."

Lady Clarissa was extending her hand warmly. "It's a pleasure finally meeting you, Ella. Your Father has spoken so fondly of you."

I was overwhelmed but delighted. "Mother? Sisters? It's a surprise but a truly delightful one! Welcome to our home." I was surprised but happy. I finally had sisters to play with. My heart fluttered with a mix of emotions. I was no longer an only child – I now had sisters and a mother. It was as if the universe had woven the answer to my longing.

We exchanged warm embraces. I was trying to contain my excitement at the arrival of my newfound family members. We move into the living area.

Lady Clarissa was smiling. "Your home is beautiful, Ella. I can see why your father speaks of it with such adoration."

"Thank you, Step Mother. I'm thrilled to show you around." I said to her warmly.

My new mother was a vision of grace and beauty. Her golden hair cascaded on her shoulder, framing her face like a halo. My sisters possessed unique charm – my older sister with blonde hair and my second sister with vibrant red locks.

They tour the estate, laughter filling the halls as they explore each room together.

Belle liked my room. "Your room is so cozy, Ella! I adore it."

Lindsay was admiring the décor. "Look at these paintings! They're incredible."

I was happy because they liked my room. "I'm glad you both like it. It's been a cherished space for me."

Lady Clarissa said gently, "It's a room filled with warmth and love. Just like this entire house, Ella."

"I'm grateful to have all of you here. Our family feels complete now." I was smiling.

The following day brought a familiar scene as my father prepared to set off again, bound for the palace. My curiosity got the better of me, and I made a heartfelt request.

"Father, please bring me with you?" I requested earnestly. I longed to join him, yearning to reunite with my dear friend, the prince, and his pet Leo, the magnificent tiger.

"Come let us go, get inside the carriage." My Father, understanding my longing, consented to my request. I was elated, knowing I would soon be reunited with the companions who had become a cherished part of my life. I couldn't wait to see the prince and his pet Leo again.

As we approached the grand palace, my heart swelled with anticipation. I was returning to a place filled with enchantment and wonder. I hurried to the familiar tree near the palace gardens, which had become a portal to a world of dreams. I found solace in that tranquil spot, where the gentle rustling of leaves and the soothing rhythm of nature enveloped me.

As I settled down with Mr. Fluffy by my side, I closed my eyes, savoring the serenity of the surroundings. The tree provided a shade canopy, and the tranquil ambiance gave me peace.

But my heart leaped with joy when I heard the unmistakable sound of Leo approaching. I opened my eyes to find him bounding towards me, his robust frame brimming with energy. I greeted him with a warm smile, overwhelmed with happiness at the sight of my loyal friend.

He purred. I chuckled, feeling the warmth of our friendship rekindle. "Leo, I missed you too," I said. I reached out to pat Leo's fur, appreciating our bond. Mr. Fluffy was also elated to see his friend again. They began playing with each other as if rekindling their bond.

The prince emerged, his presence lighting up the garden. He said, "Ella, you've returned, I was beginning to wonder if you'd come back." He pouted his lips and I just wanted to squeeze his cheeks because he is so damn cute. Of course, I wouldn't dare, but I just did it in my mind.

"I've missed our conversations, and it's been too long since we had a chance to talk." He was so overwhelmed by happiness that he scooped me in his arms and hugged me. Oh, my goodness, I was shocked but my heart fluttered.

I smiled my heart pounding in excitement and my cheeks flushed, "I've missed you too, your highness." My Father has been traveling." "Today, though, I was surprised. He brought a woman with him and her two daughters. I now have a mother and sisters."

William regained his composure and brought his hands to his sides. "That's wonderful. You have a family now, and you won't be lonely anymore. I don't have any brothers or sisters, so I'm glad for you."

"You're a dear friend, your highness. You've always been here for me, even when I was lonely. Now, I have sisters to play with at home."

William pondered, "I'm glad for you, Ella. It means you may not visit me as often, but that's okay. You have your family now." He said sadly and his lips pouted.

"I will still play with you often," I said. I still don't have brothers, and he laughed at my remarks. Even though I never felt that he was my brother, this feeling is entirely new to me even at a young age. Whenever he is close to me and sometimes holds my hands, I feel something else. Our connection gave me a certain rush like a butterfly in my stomach and a blush in my cheeks.

The prince's voice resonated warmly as he spoke, "Ella, I'm delighted to see you again. My heart was whole as I sat there with my dear friend, the prince, and his loyal companion, Leo. It was a day filled with laughter, stories, and shared dreams, a moment that wrapped around me like a warm embrace.

But now it's just a memory, I wonder if he still thinks about me. I ask myself as I reminisce.

'Five years have passed and would he even recognize me now?'

'Did he ever wonder why I haven't visited him anymore?'
