Prologue
"Why didn't you finish it off?" asked Dafne looking at the waves.
"We were in a crowded place, and I did not want Rabia to know!" I answered.
"OK, I guess we can solve that!" she replied. "I don't want to talk to him again," I sighed, knowing perfectly that no matter what I needed to talk it out with him to end this Chapter.
" You still love him don't you?" asked Dafne.
" Love is not everything. I might love him, but some things are more important than that!" I replied. Dafne remained silent and allowed me to continue.
"Trust and respect Dafne, if those are missing in a relationship then what's the use? He cheated on me with Rania, though he was forced into it, I forgave him. I was hurt, but I did not judge him. I gave him space to think. And him? What did he do? When I asked him to come so we could clear the misunderstanding between us, he instantly assumed that I was with Aaditya. He called me characterless and accused me of cheating on him without even asking me what was going on," I explained.
Kayra's P.O.V
"He never loved me Zinat, I was just a toy for him," sobbed a defeated Aayat. She lost everything, her love, her family, and her friends.
She could not believe that she would be back-stabbed by the one who showed her the light. She looked at the promise ring on her finger and threw it away.
"I hate you! I hate you for everything," she yelled. Zinat let her cry for a while, then hugged her.
"Enough! no more tears," she whispered to her broken friend. "Aayat, get a grip of yourself! You cannot let them win," she encouraged.
"What Aayat? They killed Aayat, Aayat was weak, emotional, and fragile! He killed her! He killed his Aayat!" she yelled. "Then make them pay, make them regret hurting you" suggested Zinat.
"How? They know my every weakness and every strength," Aayat sighed, defeated. "I'll give you some time to figure this out! Know your worth and fight back," replied Zinat before leaving Aayat.
Aayat looked scrolled through her phone gallery, she went through every single picture of them together. They were happy, he was her happiness.
Her world revolved around him. Somewhere deep down she hoped that whatever she heard, and saw was a misunderstanding, but unfortunately, everything was true.
She has been betrayed by the one whom she dreamt of spending her whole life and to make it worse he chose to cheat on her with the enemy.
Aayat looked at herself in the picture, her hazel brown eyes were radiating with happiness and her hair was undeniably beautiful.
She had a smile plastered on her face which displayed her dimples. Those dimples that he would incessantly compliment and kiss. Aayat analysed the picture carefully, his dimples and baby face were what attracted her to him.
However, she fell in love with him because of his character. She thought that he was sincere, honest, and pure but he proved her wrong.
After a while, Aayat decided to meet her close friends and inform them about her decision. "You guys want me to fight back, fine I will! But from now on Aayat is dead, because Aayat was weak," she informed.
Her friends looked shocked at the fury burning through her eyes. "well, if not Aayat then what should we call you munchkin?" asked her friend who stroke her cheek and hugged her.
"Exactly, think what other names your munchkin has?" she replied as he pinched her cheeks.
"Kayra!" Stated Zinat. "Well, then from now on we will call you Kayra only. Aayat's existence would only remain a memory. We will help you through this but on one condition" said her room-mate.
"What condition?" she asked. "well, no more hurting yourself! You will not morn anymore! I want my roomie back!" she stated which made Kayra laugh. "Well then, be it. I love you people. Thanks for being here" she said and hugged them.

Aayat's P.O.V
He stood there like a shield in front of me, I was finally safe. Away from the noise of the fights and bullying, I was finally at peace. I caressed his cheeks and engulfed myself in his arms. Suddenly, I hear my mom's voice.
"Aayat, wake up you'll be late for class,'' she yelled. "mom I don't have classes today it's Wednesday" I replied feeling exhausted.
"I know sweetie, but you still have replacement because of your cousin's wedding" she explained. I grumbled and got ready. There was one thing that I hated beyond everything and that was meeting new people.
This new scheduled because of my cousin's wedding messed up my life. I had to spend two weeks with unknown people in another batch. I tied my hair in a ponytail and rushed out of the house.
There was a weird feeling in my stomach, and it could be seen from my face that I was nervous. Luckily among the crowd of unknown faces, I noticed familiar one, Raksha. I was praying that she would stay with me.
I walked up to her and hugged her, she knew me enough to say that all I wanted to do was to run away and hide in a corner. She introduced me to her cousin Adarsh and the guy who was sitting next to him, Abyad.
I smiled at him, and he smiled back. At that instant, I felt happy, genuinely happy after such a long time just by his smile. He then moved his attention to his work. I, on the other hand, just stood there and watched him explaining the notes to Adarsh.
I was brought back to reality by the teacher who asked me to sit in the front row which was the other end of the class as he was sitting completely at the back.
The next week during the same class, we talked a bit. I appreciated him, his way of speaking and his style.
He was simple and cute, charming a bit, but he was perfect in my eyes.
Unfortunately, this was the last day that I would see him, for I would move back to my old schedule after that class.
That day he asked me for my name on Facebook and without any second thought, I gave it to him. In a fraction of a second Adarsh added me. I laughed at his impatience. That day I knew two things;
1. Adarsh and I are going to be really good friends
2. Abyad had something special in him and I liked him.
Aayat's P.O. V
* 4 years ago*
One week passed and there was no sign of Abyad at all, then when it was going to hit a completed week of him going M.I. A, (missing in action) he finally texted.
While talking to him, I lost myself in another world, where there was no one else but the two of us. I thought the situation was the same as he asked me to join him for a coffee.
Unfortunately, I was not allowed out of the house and my mom would drive me everywhere, so I had to reject the offer.
Nevertheless, we continued talking and I could feel myself crushing on him even harder than before. The next Wednesday, after their class, my friend Raksha informed me that Abyad cut his wrist, and it was only because I refused to join him for coffee.
I started feeling bad and guilty; I felt like I hurt him even when trying to stay away from him. I spent the whole night crying and thinking about what I should do.
In the end, I decided to tell him that I like him, and he should not hurt himself because of me. I felt a strange pain in my chest.
I eventually called him through Adarsh as, for some reasons his mom took away his phone from him.
After that, we agreed to meet at a nearby restaurant for the weekend. The problem was that I had to lie to my parents to go out. In the end, I asked my best friend Zinat to accompany me.
She was glad I finally liked someone. After all the years she tried setting me up with people. The nervousness that I was facing knew no bounds. I went paranoid about my appearance.
Zinat was trying her best to keep me from having a nervous breakdown. Zinat chose my outfit and helped me to get ready. I wore a simple light blue dress which lightened up my face and did some light makeup on.
I started fidgeting without realizing again. I wanted to make a good impression, and I did not know why, but his opinion mattered a lot to me. The restaurant was oddly calm that day. Zinat was holding back her laugh as much as she could, for it was amusing for her to see me in such a situation.
When Abyad arrived, I was ranting about my nervousness to Zinat; she tried to inform me that Abyad was standing right behind me, but, unfortunately; I was talking way too much and exceedingly fast for her to stop me.
I stopped only to see her eyes on something behind me. As soon as I turned, I realized Abyad was standing right behind me. Zinat started laughing uncontrollably, and Abyad had a cute smile on his face. His right hand went at the back of his neck and he rubbed it.
"I never knew you would be this nervous," he said as he sat next to me.
"well... uh I never knew about that until today," I replied.
"You're so cute!" he said as he pinched my cheeks a bit.
"Thanks," replied Zinat, which made Abyad look at her, amused.
"What? Knowing her, she would not reply but just smile nervously," she explained, which made Abyad laugh and made me want to run away as soon as possible.
After half an hour of Abyad asking random questions about Zinat and me, and Zinat answering all of them, I decided to join the conversation as well. By the end of the meeting, I grew to like him even more, however; I thought that the feeling was not reciprocal considering my behaviour. When we reached home, I received a text from Abyad:
You were too cute,
can't wait for you
to warm up to me,
hope to meet you again
in the following days I did not realize that I was smiling and blushing while reading the text until Zinat pointed it out.
She snatched my phone and read the text. She was delighted that Abyad liked me, for she approved him completely for me.
She decided to reply to me, as I did not know how to flirt.
Am glad that you found me cute
cause you stole my breath
looking this handsome,
looking forward to meeting you again.
I gasped looking at the reply she sent, this was so unlike the real me. It was too late to take whatever she sent back. He replied almost immediately.
Thanks, Zinat,
but I am more interested in Aayat lol.
No offence though.
I began to laugh at the shocked face of Zinat when she read the text. She instantly began to type again.
How did you know?
Are you spying on us?
Before she managed to send the text, another message from Abyad popped up the screen.
I might have met her only today,
but we've been texting for a while now,
and she is not as bold as this, you are...
can you give her the phone now?
Zinat gave me the phone back pouting, I smiled at his reply and began to text him back.
Never knew you noticed this much about me lol... am glad I could finally meet you... wished we could meet soon.
From there, we started texting again for four hours straight non-stop, and as I could not sleep that night, he accompanied me on the text until I fell asleep.
