Seven years later.....

I scratch the back of my neck thinking the same shit again, thinking about the accident that happens to me, accident? No. Those aren't even accidents and I just hate to admit that.

Trying to save a person when you can't even save yourself is a joke. The joke that I wanted to be a joke but it wasn't even a joke, those are realities that hit so hard.

Forgetting yourself is the most shit you'll ever do, you can't save someone because you can't save yourself!

I shook my head trying to get away with my thoughts.

I brought the black folder and went to Phoebe's office.

Thrashing all the problems I've got in my Cite! How come the interns aren't graduated!? We need them! And because of all the old Engineers who finally retire, it doesn't do any good with us,

As of now, I heard the CEO talking about the new Engineers so I'm a bit excited because I don't need to have problems with this!

"Avery, are you even listening to me?" Meggay said with a monotone yet dangerous voice, I bolted to my seat and looked up at her, she was looking at me intently as if she was watching tv.

I sweat back and wipe it so fast, "I-i was just nervous about the Engineer."

She sighed, "I was just asking if you're listening to me, I didn't even say anything." She cursed under her breath making me pouted.

"Don't worry about him anymore, I'll make sure to hunt him down and slice his head off." she threatened to make me laugh a bit, I bet she was just joking around because she likes putting the bullet in the head not slicing them off.

I pouted, "You don't even like slicing ahead."

"I don't care if I hate that shit but if it was you, I'll do that." She said with a hiss before rolling her eyes.

She looked up at me once again and gave me a soft smile.

"Avery, if you ever feel like doing that again, please call me out for help. You know that I understand you, right?" She said softly, making me smile a bit.

"You know that I promise you that I'll never do that again. I won't hurt myself again." I spoke slowly and massaged my temple. She smiled softly but it faded when she received a call from someone.

I pouted at the sight of her because she was arguing with someone but when she turned around to me, she gave me a soft smile and bid her goodbye.

I laughed to myself because Meggay was acting scary in front of others and then when he faced us he smiled.

But I didn't know that this day is the day I'll see him again, that I'll find myself looking at him again, watching his movements again and I remember that he was the one who hurt me, he was the one who show me how trash men are.

Savannah is very quiet as if she saw a ghost but me... I don't know how I should react to this. How should I live with it because it reminded me how I was before, a fragile glass that shattered and can't put the pieces back together.

I'm back at my old self again who's doing my best to reach and save her. But I can't save her... And still at that time, I knew I was hopeless and worthless at that time.

When I left the Conference room, I knew I fucked up because at that time I was finally able to breathe again, and remind me that it was finally over, the past is already past and I'm here at the present to show how much I've endured the pain and let myself heal. Am I fine? Was I finally healed or was I escaping again?

Did I escape again from the nightmare instead of facing it? I knew I heal! Because I was laughing, doing the same things that made me happy before but what now? And now I feel this again.

The suffocating in my heart that I couldn't breathe properly, the feeling that I was shattering into pieces, and I already knew that I just escaped and not fully heal.

Where's the proof? It's River! I just saw him but a million memories came back to me.

I still feel how he pinned me in the bed, how he makes me scream in pleasure, how he makes my body burn. It's him. It was him who I loved, but he cannot love me back.

Why do we need to feel pain for someone who isn't even ours?

"It's funny, Trying to get over someone who was never even mine. Having to heal a heart I broke by myself." I said to myself, mentally.

"Olivia." I quickly smiled at him.

"What do you need, Sir--" I cursed under my breath and smiled again. "I mean Engineer River."

He raised his brow and gave me a small smile. "I am your new Engineer so please work with me," he said but I knew mentally that I was laughing.

You're a fucking CEO! Why are you pretending to be an Engineer, when you have tons of money?

"Olivia, I'm sorry for what I did to you before." He said but everything went white, my smile faded as those words came out of his mouth, and another flashback happened.

"Use your little pretty mouth of yours to suck my dick. Do your best to suck me off slut." I looked at him with wide eyes because of the word he called me. No... I'm not a slut...

"C'mon, you're my bitch. Olivia slut." He smirked as the pain doubled inside me.

And I flick open once again and that time I was looking at him with mad eyes.

I smirked and smiled again at him.

"Call me Architect De Honor, not Olivia, Engineer River. We are working here at the Company, so don't be casual. I am also in a higher position now. Do your best to respect me." I smirked as the bright smile he had faded among those lines.

I hate my life as of now because I wake up late today and Savannah didn't bother to wake me up and just told me that she would give Saito something to eat and let me starve so I decided to go to the KFC.

I have to visit my Mom later and go to my job, my salary will come later but it wasn't enough for me or my mom.

I was eating silently praying that God would give me the money to help my Mother.

"Can I sit beside you?" I bolted and went my eyes to the person who holds a gray tray with some food in it.

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from giggling, this man is so handsome, he was so tall and had a white polo shirt tucked in with black pants, he also had an expensive bag that I've seen before, he also had an expensive watch in his wrist, his skin was so white like he didn't go out to his house.

His eyes train onto me, the black eyes who's holding a big boredness, his long eyelashes. His perfect brows, a pointed nose, and perfect lips. It's rare for a man to have such perfect lips nor long eyelashes.

"So...?" I bolted again when he spoke because I was staring at him for too long, not thinking that I was looking at him.

"If you're uncomfortable sitting next to me, I'll find another seat." He said with a monotone voice so I shook my head.

"You can sit..." I told him and looked away to start eating again.

I don't have time to enter some shit relationship that would end me up crying and having agonizing pain. Like hell, I would fall in love.

He was silent as he started to eat, I was observing everything in this place, like footsteps, movement, actions because I might get stabbed back.

In the Fru Stars, I'm the only one who shows my face to the enemy, Savannah likes putting on a black eye mask and Phoebe has a mask to cover his mouth, unlike me who's showing my beautiful face, I'm so proud to have such a beautiful face.

Even if he's handsome, his aura was giving me such danger, the aura surrounded him was too dangerous, meaning he would be an enemy because he might know me from the start.

"Could you please stop staring? I can't eat properly." He said, making me blush because I thought I wasn't looking at him! Fuck, Olivia!

"I'm sorry, I made you uncomfortable," I said sarcastically, this is my attitude so many people were always telling me to change my sarcastic attitude.

"Excuse me?" He raised his eyebrows while looking at me, I also raised my eyebrows and smirked slightly.

"Nothing, this is just my attitude and you can't change it as far as I know," I said with a smirk and got up to my seat, holding my bag, means I'm done eating.

I heard his sarcastic chuckle, "Let's see how long you'll be sarcastic then."

My eyes widened but I stepped out to the restaurant because I got chills because of what he said to me.

When I got to the school and just ate lollipops, Meggay was the first person I saw, she was having a cold glare and cold aura around her, making me chuckle at my seat.

"Class dismissed." The prof said and left our room, making me jump in excitement, I heard that we got a new transfer in this school and all engineers are from UST.

Meggay was having a bad mood today, she was a bitter person that cares a lot about us.

But I didn't know it was the same jerk in the KFC!

"Hey, I'm River Ax Hanahaki, we met at the KFC," he said with a smirk and of course, I got my veins popping out in my neck.

"It's me, Olivia Avery De Honor," I greeted back with a calm complexion, he had a smirk across to his smile, making my veins pop out more!

He got some balls to do that!

He leaned to my ear, "Don't worry. Soon enough you'll be submitted by me like a lost puppy."

Chills went down to my spine and my eyes widened... What is he talking about?

But when I want to talk, I got shoved by Meggay. She was pulling us into the Canteen making me groan in annoyance.

"You're too bitter, Meggay." I groaned but kept my acting as high as possible.

If I'm done using her, I'll shove her in the trash and leave her with it, disgusting.

Meggay smiled at me, making my eyebrows raised. She's always doing this! If she kept being nice she would throw and break apart! She didn't know that the people who were beside her were using her! It was us! Nine years and she didn't even notice that we are using her? That's ridiculous!

"Stop doing that, Meggay," I muttered without thinking, her gaze went up to me and gave me a lopsided smile. Savannah and Phoebe stop eating and contemplate us,

"Doing what?"

"Being nice," I said sarcastically, she didn't know what will happen to her if she keeps being nice, people will stab her back and kill her with so much anticipation. It will be the cause of her death.

She suddenly laughs making my eyes widened, she was not even laughing in her whole life!

"Who told you I'm nice?" She asked, smirking.

Her face becomes darker and darker, making me gulp and gasp at the same time, her smile faded while looking at me.

Savannah glared at me, trying to stop me because Meggay is being dangerous.

She clenched her fist and looked at me with a cold glare.

"I know what your thinking, Olivia," dhe deadly said. "If people stab me back, I let them taste hell."

I lit the cigarette and smoked it.

I'm on break from my bar work, I'm a bit frustrated because someone slapped my ass with his bare hands and asked me to have sex with him.

Why would I do that? I hate the word 'Sex'

My Anger increased even more because of Meggay. She scared me to hell.

Meggay was fuming mad earlier and the dark aura around her is making me scared.

I inhale another smoked from the cigarette, I'm so tired with study in the morning and work at night.

It stresses me but I have to do this.

Meggay was lucky because of her money and having lovable parents, I hate that I don't have that kind of luck.

Meggay was emotionless, despite having everything, and it frustrated me more.

She can't even smile properly and keep showing us her money saying she wants to help us with everything. He's just arrogant.

I clenched my fist and threw the cigarette on the floor.

I took a deep breath and squeezed my eyes right.

I went back to work and cleaned the Devil's Bar, my duty will be off after cleaning the kitchen.

"You should eat." I bolted and unexpectedly fell the mop on the floor.

I tensed a bit before looking at Boss, Meggay's brother.

I looked at him and smiled a bit.

"After this, I'll eat..." I whispered to him and picked up the mop, I started mopping the floor again but I felt he didn't leave me.

"Do you want to eat with me?" He asked suddenly, I looked back at him again and saw that he was smiling.

Unlike Meggay who can't smile properly.

"I'm not yet done with my work, sir," I responded, No one was here because everyone left with their salary.

My salary is six thousand every month so I'm grateful, I didn't even pay my tuition, nor, buying my food, Meggay was the one who bought everything, kinda ridiculous.

"It's fine. I have spare food because my Mom gave me two dinners so I asked you if you want it, It's adobo." He spoke to me, making me smile at him.

"Sure, why not," I chuckled. He starts walking away, I followed him until we reached his office.

He gave me the lunch box, containing the food. We started eating silently like we didn't know each other.

Meggay's brother is a very gentleman to the woman, he said he had a sister and he won't do anything.

I honestly thought that I would like him because of that, everything that Man and Woman can do is he can achieve, you will find everything in this man but Meggay is his sister so I hate to be with that woman.

"Someone slap you again in your private part." I raised my eyebrows and frowned at what he said. "Don't worry I banned him in the bar."

"I don't want any species to be a pervert to my workers." He resumed. I looked at him with so much happiness, he can defend everyone.

"If I will find decent work, I'll resign here for that," I muttered slowly, not thinking.

I quickly covered my mouth because of my sudden rudeness. He just chuckled.

"You're right, this is not decent work for a lady like you. I only allowed men to be my workers because they won't experience some shit from the customers. I only allowed you because Meggay told me so." He spoke harshly, making me frown.

Maggie again?

"I heard you earlier, rambling about how Meggay is lucky." He spoke again, making me bite my lower lip because of embarrassment.

"Meggay was happy with what she was experiencing right now, having the three of you as her friends, and she gave everything to spoil you all. Her bank account was in low again because she was spending her money on all of you." He said and drank some beer while looking at me, I stopped eating.

"I asked her why she's spoiling you all when you had your own life and your just her companions, you know what her answer to me?" He asked me and gazed at my eyes, I gulp.

"Because you didn't have a good existence. You didn't experience being a plague, you didn't have a nice meal, a nice house to sleep in, and every one of you had a problem to deal with. She keeps saying that if no one was there for every one of you, then she'll be there to keep you sane." He smirked at me because of my reactions.

"But what about her? Who will keep her sane when she had a problem to be dealt with? She's a selfless, Olivia. She didn't care about herself or the money she had." He stands up and holds the beer in his right hand, he crushed it and tossed it aside. I was dumbfounded by what he said.

"She wasn't lucky, you are the one who's lucky to have her." He said before departing and leaving me alone.

My eyes are widened because of shock and I could move, every word he told me clears my mind as if it was a wind.

When I had the strength to move, I left the bar and walked to the hospital.

Mauve hospital.

I went to the room where my Mom was confined. I saw her sleeping peacefully while the tubes in her body were keeping her from breathing properly.

I sat next to her and held her hand.I hold it tightly and use her hands to caress my face.

"I'm so tired, Mom," I whispered to her.

My Mom is diagnosed of Cancer stage 3.

Putting myself away and working to earn more money to treat her sickness.

Being a Mafia is not something I should be proud of, our money is from illegal things. We bought weapons using money of illegal things, and we never use those money in real life. We only used our assets if it's used for our organization. That is why we are poor without the Mafia organization.

My Mom is still not awake from her sleep bed, the doctor told me to wait because she was fighting.

It's been two months since her eyes opened and it felt so forever to wait for her without feeling the pain.

"Mama, wake up, I need you so much," I whispered to her and started crying with the pain along to me.

"Is my baby tired?" My eyes widened when I heard my Mom's voice.

I looked at her with so much anticipation, looking at her that it can't even be a dream, it's real, my Mama is awake again.
