Abigail Delaney, the youngest female servant of the Williams household came with the intention to work for a period of time in order to save up enough money to pay for her mother's surgery. Unintentionally, she fell in love with the only son and heir to the Williams empire, Liam Williams. It took just one night to lose her virginity to him. And later discovering she was pregnant, she decided to leave and never return. Hopefully, Liam will never find out that she left with his heir.

Chapter 0 Prologue

Prologue.

Abigail started working as a maid in The Williams's mansion a couple of months ago in order to earn money to pay for her mum's surgery. Sarah, her mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Unintentionally, Abby developed feelings for Liam Williams, the only son and heir to The Williams's empire.

Liam was also attracted to her but they both decided to ignore the tingling sensations and sparks that flew between them because they were people from different worlds. Abigail kept reminding herself that she was there to work and earn and not to fall in love.

Fortunately and unfortunately, they unleashed their burning desire in one night. They broke the rule, they had sex and words couldn't describe how amazing it felt for both of them. They couldn't get enough of each other.

The next morning, Abigail woke up in her room in the servant quarters and instead of opening her eyes to see Liam beside her, she saw a paper.

The paper was not so neatly folded and out of curiosity, she reached for it and opened it.

She blushed when she saw the unique cursive handwriting. It was Liam's and she could recognize it anywhere.

As soon as she started reading the words scribbled on the paper, her blush disappeared and from nowhere, heavy tears welled up in her eyes.

Liam made it clear that what happened between them the previous night was a mistake that should never have occurred so she should forget that something like that ever took place.

Abby tore the paper into big pieces, squeezed them all together and threw it across her room in anger, not caring where it landed.

Then she buried her face into her pillow and cried...............

Seconds became minutes and days became weeks. Abigail made several attempts to talk to Liam but he always ignored her and treated her as if she never existed, until he left for Australia, for his masters, without saying goodbye.

A few weeks later, Abigail started having a series of morning sickness which Ruby noticed. Ruby Williams was the woman of the house, the mother of Liam and Anna Williams and wife to Robert Williams.

She was a loving and caring woman and at the same time very disciplined. She was the type of person that called a spade, a spade, a 48-year-old who treated everyone with respect.

When she noticed that her youngest staff, Abigail, was sick, She gave her a day off to go to the hospital and also some money in case she needed to buy medications.

The doctor ran some tests on Abby, asked her a series of questions which made her wonder if she came over for an interview.

The test result was ready a few hours later and the doctor revealed she was pregnant.

That was when everything came crashing down for Abigail. She burst into tears as she wondered how she was going to cope with raising a child on her own. She could not believe how her life had turned upside down within a few months.

How would she face the Williams's and tell them she was pregnant with Liam's child?

Will they believe her?

What if they thought of her as a slut who was only interested in their money?

Abigail felt She couldn't do that to them, She couldn't betray their trust in her. She was the foolish one, If she had not slept with Liam she would not have gotten pregnant.

She cried and cried until her eyes were swollen. She feared for her life, for the life of her unborn child, She feared what the future held for them.

After weighing the pros and cons, She decided to quit working for the Williams and never look back. Hopefully, they will never find out she left with their heir.

Chapter 1 One

When the bus came to a halt at her stop, Abigail rose to her feet, reached for her old leather suitcase that was by her seat and made her way out of the vehicle, leaving a few passengers in it.

As the bus drove away, She stood still, closed her eyes and inhaled the fresh warm breeze. She had missed her home, the famous Buxton town.

After what felt like forever, Abby continued her journey to her home which was not that far from the bus stop. She returned the greetings of some familiar faces and also stopped for a few seconds to say Hi to some little children who couldn't stop staring and smiling at her. Even though her heart was heavy due to the fact that she was still trying to process the news about her pregnancy, she greeted the children with a kind smile then continued her journey.

When Abby got to her house, She opened the small wooden gate and entered. Scanning through everywhere, she noticed the environment was pretty much the same since her last visit.

A chocolate brown bungalow house with a short white wooden fence and gate that separated her home from that of their neighbours. Short grasses in the front yard with a pathway in the middle, leading to the front door. She loved her home; It was very quiet, cosy and neat.

Abby played with her fingers as she waited patiently for her mom to open the door after she had knocked twice.

Sarah expected whoever was at the door to be anyone else but her daughter.

"Abigail?!" She voiced out, shocked, but happy to see her only child.

Tears welled up in Abigail's eyes and she tried to keep them at bay. "Hi mum, " She pulled her mother into a hug.

"I missed you so much, princess." Sarah returned her daughter's hug.

"Missed you too, mum." She managed to say with the lump in her throat.

"Mum, you look lean. Haven't you been taking your medications?" She asked when she pulled away from the hug and took in her mother's appearance.

Abby was almost her mother's height and they looked very much alike. While she was putting on a knee-length dress, her mother was in a long blue dress with her hair parked in a ponytail. Even in sickness, you could see how beautiful the 44-year-old woman was. Abigail definitely inherited her beauty from her mum.

"I take them regularly, my dear. I guess it's normal for me to lose weight with my condition. Why don't you bring your suitcase in and tell me how you've been doing." Sarah completed.

She opened the door wider for Abigail to come in which she did after picking up her suitcase. Sarah locked the door behind her daughter and joined her in the living room.

Their house was small but comfortable for them. A two-bedroom bungalow with a bathroom down the hallway, a kitchen, living room and a very small corner which served as their dining room.

There was nothing much in the living room. Just a Sofa, two single couches, a television set, an air conditioner that was no longer working which was why they had an old standing fan that stood at the edge corner of the living room and a couple of pictures framed on the wall.

They own the house so they had no rent burden as it was inherited by Sarah's late husband, Ben.

Sarah took a seat beside her daughter on the Sofa. She knew something was wrong with the sudden visitation. She took Abigail's hand in hers. "What is it, my dear?"

When Abby gave no reply, Sarah spoke, "Don't tell me nothing is wrong. I'm your mother and I know that look on your face."

Abigail heaved a sigh. Her mother knew her too well for her to start telling lies.

"I quit working for the Williams". She answered.

Sarah never wanted her daughter to work as a maid. She wanted Abigail to get a degree at the university which would provide a good job so she (Abby) could have a better life. But since her husband died when her daughter was eleven, It gradually became difficult for them to live comfortably and things became worse when her sickness started.

Sarah did her best by doing two jobs per day. That was until she became sick and could no longer work. By then Abigail had completed secondary school.

And despite her Mother's disapproval, Abby decided to take up a job as a maid. She persuaded her mother that she would use whatever money she earned from working for the Williams for her university education. But deep down, she was going to use the money for her Mother's surgery. Her mum meant a whole lot to her than furthering her education.

"Why? Did they treat you badly?" Sarah asked with a heavy heart.

"No mom. I just decided that......."

Before Abigail could go any further, She felt nauseous and fled to the bathroom down the hallway where she emptied the content in her stomach.

After puking her gut out, She felt dizzy so she sat on the floor, resting her back against the bathtub.

After observing her for a while, Sarah approached her daughter and helped her to her feet. She ushered her to the sink, splashed water on her face, made her rinse her mouth, then encouraged her to sit on the edge of the bathtub. All that was done with Abigail looking everywhere except into her Mother's eyes.

Sarah raised Abby's chin so she could look into her eyes. As soon as Abby saw her Mom's pained expression, She broke into uncontrollable tears.

"I'm so sorry, Mum." She cried.

Sarah sat beside her daughter and did what Abby least expected which made her cry even harder. She hugged Abigail who buried her face deeper in her mother's chest and cried.

"I know you are disappointed in me. I swear I'm also disappointed in myself. Please forgive me, Mum, I'm so sorry". She cried.

After Abigail's unending apology, She explained to her mom all that happened between herself and Liam and how she found out she was pregnant which was why she resigned.

And when she was done talking, She burst into another round of tears.

"Abigail look at me, " Sarah commanded, taking her daughter's face into her hands, using her thumb to wipe away Abby's tears.

"This is unexpected for both of us. I honestly don't know how to feel but what good will it do me or you if I turn my back on you? It's enough that you hate yourself already."

"It has always been you and I since God called your father to rest and in a situation like this, I don't know how but we will find our way around it. Me, you and the baby, we have each other and that's what matters." Sarah said with tear-filled eyes.

"Thanks, mum. I don't know what I'll do without you. Thank you for not judging me." Abigail said as she wiped her tears with the back of her palm. The more she wiped them, the more the tears rolled down her cheeks.

Sarah gave her daughter's shoulder a light squeeze and seeing that that wasn't enough to reduce the sobs, she pulled her into a hug.

After a few minutes of crying her heart out in her mother's chest, with Sarah whispering soothing words in her ear, Abigail finally calmed down.

"Take a shower while I make us something to eat. My grandchild must be hungry." She added, hoping to ease the tension within Abigail.

Abby's lips curved into a sad smile making her mother smile in return.

Sarah kissed her daughter's forehead before excusing herself to go start dinner.

Abigail was about taking off her clothes when she remembered she needed a change of clothes. She went in search of one in her bedroom.

Stepping out of the shower, Abby looked into the mirror that was on the wall, above the sink. She searched for any changes in her body but there was hardly any. Her belly was still very flat. Her eyes were red and her face was still puffy from crying. She inspected her boobs but they were pretty much the same except her nipples which were sore.

For the first time since the doctor broke the news to her that she was pregnant, Abigail placed her hand on her belly to acknowledge the little human that was growing in there.

"Hi, baby." She whispered as a tear rolled down her cheek.

"We will be fine, I promise. As Grandma said, we have each other and that's what matters. I love you, pumpkin."

After dinner, Sarah filled Abigail up with what had happened in their hometown since her last visit. Abigail also confessed to her mum about working as a maid to save up for her surgery (her mum's surgery) and not for school. And now that she had saved quite a sum, they would be visiting the Doctor tomorrow.

Chapter 2 Two

Five Years Later

A lot has occurred during this five year period.

Sarah, Abigail's mother had her surgery and it was successful.

Few weeks after Sarah recovered, Abigail applied for and was admitted into a public university where she studied Business Administration. She believed with the degree, she would be able to get a good job that paid well. That way, she would be able to provide for her twins.

Abby almost went crazy when the doctor broke the news to her that she was expecting twins. She was furious as to how she would cope with two babies. But with the help of her mother, She was able to cope. Her mum helped her through her morning sickness, kept up with her mood swings and cravings.

Sometimes, Abigail wished Liam was there for her and the babies. In as much as she wouldn't want to admit it, She missed him terribly even though he treated her badly. She also missed everyone in the Williams household, most especially Anna, Liam's younger sister. They used to be very close when she was working for them.

Abigail started her university program when she was three months pregnant. Her house wasn't far from school so there was no need for renting an apartment.

During her uni days, She was always on her own. Besides the fact that she was kind of shy, Abigail also felt that no one would want to associate with a pregnant fresher so she decided to keep to herself.

But as time went by, Abigail made a friend, Bella. She was glad Bella understood her situation at that time and never judged her. Bella introduced Abigail to her parents and they accepted Abigail as their daughter. Bella's parents were not that rich but they were comfortable.

Bella assisted Abigail in Uni countless times. She covered up for her in school when she fell sick and couldn't make it for lectures. Bella would take notes for Abigail and sign her name for her on the attendance register and even forge Abby's signature where she was to sign.

Then after class, she would go straight to Abigail's house, give her the notes, explain to her and fill her up with everything that happened in class. Abigail felt so blessed to have a friend like Bella.

Abigail was able to go through her painful labour with the help of her mum, Bella and of course Bella's mother. She gave birth to an adorable set of twins at the General Hospital in her hometown. A boy and a girl. Lawrence Earl Williams 6 pounds 5 ounces and Lenora Elsie Williams 6 pounds 2 ounces.

Abigail loved the name 'Earl.' Her baby boy was her Warrior. Lawrence was given birth to with some complications which made them stay in the hospital for a few more days. She was afraid she was going to lose him but he proved her wrong.

It has not been easy taking care of the twins but her mum, Bella and Bella's mum were always there to help.

Few months after the birth of her twins, Abigail and Bella took a part-time job at a restaurant together. Abigail's pay was used for her family's welfare while Bella was saving up for her masters.

The two best friends graduated with a first-class degree in Business Administration earlier this year. A month after graduation, Bella went Abroad for her masters.

Abigail, on the other hand, couldn't afford a masters degree now. Her babies were her number one priority. She wanted to get a job so as to be able to provide for them.

After searching online for any Vacancy, Abby finally found a position she could manage which was 'Secretary' to the CEO of Damon Inc.

It was a well-known cooperation in the United Kingdom and it comes with lots of benefits too. Abigail prayed she got the position because being a secretary to Damon who was the CEO would mean a lot.

She could learn a lot from him and she was sure as hell that if she happened to resign over there, she wouldn't have to struggle for another job because of the good reference she would get from Damon Inc.

So here she was, back in the city of London, the place that brought back so many memories. She hoped and prayed not to bump into any of the Williams, most especially Liam.

Abigail couldn't afford a flight from Buxton town to London so she took a bus instead. She didn't care if the bus took longer than a flight would take. That was why she left her home town earlier to meet up with the date of her interview. She wasn't even sure she would be hired so why wasting her coins for a flight ticket?

When Abigail arrived at the hotel, She was very tired so she decided to take a shower and get ready for her interview the next day.

After sorting her outfit for the interview, She remembered she hadn't called her mum which she did immediately. She reached for her phone in her bag and dialled Sarah Delaney.

After three rings, Sarah answered.

"Hi mum" She greeted cheerfully, taking a seat on the edge of the hotel bed.

"Hello, darling! How was your trip? hope you are not too exhausted?"

"No mum, I'm fine."

Before she could even ask about her babies, She heard Lawrence voice in the background. He was singing one of his rhymes. She smiled at that. She could not deny that having her twins were the best things that had ever happened to her. To her, that night with Liam was never a mistake.

"How's Lawrence and Lenora?" Abigail asked.

"They are fine, dear. They miss you a lot. Lenora is asleep but Lawrence is still awake." Abigail smiled at that. That was so Lawrence, he never goes to bed on time.

"Lawrence darling, Come and say hi to mummy, " Sarah said to the little boy.

"Mummy!!!" Lawrence smiled. He kept aside the toy he was playing with and headed towards his grandma. He collected the phone from her.

"Hello honey, " Abigail said from the other side.

"Hi mama, " Lawrence said in his adorable voice. Abigail smiled at that. Her babies would be turning five soon.

"How are you, my love?" Abigail asked with a smile on her face.

"Fine mummy. Grandma took us to the park today and I made new friends."

"That's good dear. Hope you enjoyed yourself?" She asked even though she could tell from his voice that he enjoyed himself.

"Yes mama, I did. I miss you so much. Please come back soon." Lawrence said with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"I'm only going to be here for a few days. I will be back before you know it. I promise. " She assured him.

"Okay. Love you, mummy." Lawrence said.

"I love you more sweetie. Be good to Grandma and give your sister a kiss for me, okay?"

"Okay mummy. Goodnight." Lawrence said and passed the phone back to his grandma.

Abigail and Sarah talked a bit more and she promised to call the next day after her interview.

After the call, Abigail went straight to bed, hoping everything goes well tomorrow.

Sarah, on the other hand, gave her grandson a bath and put him to bed. Of course, that was after he gave his sister the kiss his mum told him to give her.
