The Second Life of The Wasted Wife

"Ssh... be quiet. She'll wake up," a man's voice hissed softly.

This room with an all-white interior and an area of about thirty-three square meters is where Mina Namari has been spending her time for the past few months. For no reason, the 27-year-old girl was suddenly completely paralyzed, and her fingers and toes were difficult to move. She also often suffers from shortness of breath at night. Not to mention her head is always dizzy and makes her very painful. Even doctors have not yet finished determining the diagnosis of her illness.

Mina had been asleep since this afternoon after a nurse gave her medicine. Now her eyes opened as she heard strange noises filling her hospital room. Mina did see her husband coming before she fell asleep. Bruno was always in charge of guarding her at night. Bruno, the husband she had only been married to for two years, was very attentive to her. Maybe it was Bruno's presence that made Mina excited to survive.

"Aah... sssh... ." The sighing sound came back and Mina caught it very close to where she was sleeping. She also felt she recognized the sound.

"Does anyone else sleep here besides Bruno?" muttered Mina to herself.

Indeed, the place where Mina slept with the waiting sofa was currently separated by a curtain. Bruno always closed the curtain when Mina slept. He said it was so that Mina would not be disturbed by Bruno's activities. Bruno often brought his work home to the hospital. Since Mina couldn't actively help in the company, Bruno was the one who stepped in to handle the company left by Mina's father.

"Again, Dear. Don't let go..." Again, the voice with sighs and labored breathing rang in Mina's ears. Mina was curious and wanted to know what was going on behind the curtain.

Mina slowly lifted her body with difficulty. She was almost completely paralyzed and could not move her limbs. However, Mina did not give up. She had to find out what noise had disturbed her sleep this time.

Mina's hand was already stretched out to touch the dividing curtain then with slow movements, Mina pulled the curtain between her bed and the waiting sofa. Mina's eyes widened in shock.

She saw her husband sitting on the sofa while Melan, his half-sister sat on his lap facing each other. Neither of them was fully clothed and this was not something worth watching. Mina was dumbfounded, her eyes bulging with her mouth wide open. Her hands were shaking and she accidentally pulled hard on the curtain, making a loud noise.

Instantly, Bruno and Melan turned to Mina. Bruno should have been surprised and tried to apologize for his actions. But instead, he asked Melan to step aside, and then Bruno got up without adjusting his pants and walked over to Mina.

"Are you awake, Dear?" Mina didn't answer, she just covered her mouth with both hands and nodded her head.

"It's good that you're awake. You just stay here. I want to continue my game with Melan. You know how many months you can't serve me. I'm a normal man, darling. It's only natural that I seek my satisfaction," Bruno continued in an innocent tone.

Meanwhile, Melan sat with her legs crossed on the sofa. She had even taken off all her clothes leaving only her underwear. Mina glanced at Melan, there was hatred in her eyes but she could not say anything. Her heart ached and hurt, and only tears kept rolling down her cheeks.

"That's it! I'll close the curtains first. I don't want to see you craving later."

Bruno turned around and closed the curtain with a quick hand movement. Then there were more sighs and moans, even more noisy than before as if to show Mina that the two of them were enjoying their hot game.

Mina cried silently. Her heart broke for the second time, she regretted why she had accepted her father's arranged marriage. She regretted having to marry a man who turned out to be rotten-hearted like Bruno. Even though when they first got married, Bruno was very attentive and affectionate to her and treated Mina well. However, everything has changed since her father's departure.

Mina cried until she finally fell back asleep. She didn't know how long she slept, but she woke up when she heard soft voices whispering around her.

"So you already know how much money we will receive if she dies?" Melan said quietly.

Mina blinked her eyes as she looked around. The curtains were not closed tightly and she could see two women sitting on the sofa and a man standing by the window.

"Yes, Dear. Mama has made sure of it. This time we'll be filthy rich. Their property will be ours, including the life insurance and then you can marry Bruno."

Mina was surprised to hear that especially since it was Mrs. Jesica, her stepmother who she thought was nice all this time.

"So this is what they have planned for me? Could Papa's death and my pain also be their doing? They want my wealth and life insurance premiums," Mina thought.

"After this, we will execute him and no one will know it was a murder."

Melan and Mrs. Jesica's giggling voices could be heard. Mina could only cry without being able to do anything. Who should she ask for help? Her body was so hard to move that Mina didn't even know why her voice was gone. What kind of medicine had been put into her body to make her like this?

Suddenly, the door opened and a well-built man with deep-set eyes and charming sideburns stood at the door. The man was stunned for a moment as he wandered around. Mina who was still on the bed could see the man. Indeed, the place where she slept could directly see towards the door.

Their eyes met for a split second and somehow Mina felt that it was time to ask for help. Maybe God sent this man as her helper, that's all Mina could think of.

"Who are you looking for, Sir?" Bruno who was standing by the window approached and asked the handsome man.

"Eng... sorry. I think I got the wrong room. I was looking for my grandfather earlier. He's being treated for heart disease," the man said.

"Oh... I see. It looks like you have the wrong room. This is my daughter's room," Mrs. Jesica said. The handsome man only nodded while glancing at Mina who was lying helplessly.

Again for a few moments, the handsome man's eyes met Mina's. Mina tried to ask for help through her gaze. She hoped he would catch the SOS signal she was sending through her eyes. However, the man just stood still in his place and was ready to say goodbye.

Mina didn't want to miss the opportunity, so her hand deliberately nudged the glass on the table next to her bed. The sound of the glass breaking immediately caught their attention. Everyone turned their heads towards Mina including the man even now they all walked closer.

"Mina, what are you doing?" exclaimed Mrs. Jesica.

"Honey... why didn't you say you wanted a drink." Bruno pretended to pay attention.

"Maybe she asked earlier, but you don't know. I saw him talking through eye signals. Can't she speak?" The man raised his voice again.

Mrs. Siska, Bruno, and Melan looked at each other. The three of them took turns signaling to, get rid of the unknown man.

"If you don't mind, I have a doctor acquaintance who can help her. I would recommend it for your daughter, Ma'am." Once again the man let out the words and now while looking sadly at Mina.

"Thank you, Sir. Maybe we can continue next time. If I may, what is your name?"

"I am Alby Allister." The handsome man extended his hand and was greeted by Mrs. Jesica. Then they chatted away trying to distract themselves. Meanwhile, Melan and Bruno tried to dissuade Mina from gesturing again.

After a while Alby had said goodbye, leaving only Mrs. Jesica, Melan, and Bruno. They were now standing around Mina with sinister looks.

"Do you have any last requests, Mina?" asked Mrs. Jesica with a wicked grin.

Mina just stood there shaking her head. She wanted to scream, she wanted to get up, she wanted to run, but she couldn't do any of that. Then Bruno came closer and kissed her lips greedily.

"This is our last kiss, Dear. You must die today."

After saying that, Bruno took out a syringe from his pants pocket and swiftly injected the liquid in the syringe into Mina's body through her IV. Laughter and a wolfish grin filled Mina's hospital room.

Mina was silent, staring at the faces of her murderers one by one. She couldn't accept it, she couldn't accept being treated like this. She would seek revenge. She would avenge her death, avenge all their treatment. However, is it possible? Meanwhile, her body was getting weaker, her breathing felt labored and her eyesight was also blurred and difficult to open.

Slowly Mina could see her own body lying helplessly on the bed with three bastards surrounding and laughing at her. Now that she could even touch the ceiling of her room, she was floating in the air and had become a spirit.

Mina paused and then realized that she was sitting in front of a mirror and was wearing a wedding dress. The woman behind her turned out to be an MUA who was helping her dress up. Mina was wide-eyed again and her panicked expression was very visible in the reflection of the mirror.

"WAIT!!! What date is it?" Mina again exclaimed with a stutter

Of course, her action surprised the MUA. Then the woman answered what day and date it was.

"NO!!! This is impossible. How can I go back to this time? It's impossible." Mina muttered to herself and of course, her actions scared the MUA.

"Perhaps you should calm down first, Miss. We'll continue with the make-up later. The event is still four hours away anyway."

The woman with the MUA profession had left the room leaving Mina alone. Meanwhile, Mina was silent as she continued to stare at her face in the mirror. She still couldn't believe what she had just experienced. Lastly, Mina only remembered the three bastards surrounding her with the sound of annoying laughter.

Mina even remembers when Bruno injected something into her IV fluid, then she slowly lost consciousness until she finally died. Mina was furious when she remembered it. She had even vowed to avenge everything the three men had done to her.

Mina took a deep breath while watching her face. She had already changed into a wedding dress, her face had also been made up and only her hair was left unmade. Mina remembered this incident she had experienced. She had indeed fallen asleep while being made up before the wedding procession and it seemed that now she was repeating that moment.

Mina got up from her seat and opened the window of the room that was directly connected to the balcony. She still remembered that Mr. Yuka Namari, her father had rented the hotel and the ballroom for his wedding back then.

She walked to the restroom and quickly changed her clothes there. Now wearing pants, a t-shirt, and a jacket, Mina put on a pet hat that was lying there. She didn't know whose hat it was but it helped to disguise her appearance.

Mina glanced at the clock in her hand, the MUA said the wedding procession was still four hours away. That meant she still had plenty of time. Slowly, Mina opened the door to the room. She glanced around the room's hallway. Mina still remembered that the bridal suite she would be using with Bruno was at the end of this hallway, right next to it was the suite of her father, Mr. Yuka Namari.

After seeing that the situation was safe, Mina left the room. She was a little relieved to see that there was no noisy MUA. With hurried steps, Mina walked towards the elevator. She immediately pressed the button and hoped that the elevator would open soon. It turned out that Mina's prayer was answered, not waiting long Mina rushed in and pressed the basement floor. She didn't want to go down to the lobby area. Mina was sure there must be a lot of activity there.

Just as Mina breathed a sigh of relief, a hand suddenly broke through the almost-closed elevator doors. Mina was surprised to see that it was Mr. Yuka Namari, her father, who reached out. Mina hurriedly pulled in her pet hat so that her face could not be seen. She also lowered her head.

"How are the preparations going?" asked Mr. Yuka Namari to a man. There were indeed two people who made it into the elevator. Mina recognized one of them as the WO member who arranged her wedding to Bruno.

"It's ninety-nine percent, sir. You can rest easy," the male member of the WO replied.

Mina just stood silently behind them. She didn't want her father to know that she was running away from her marriage. If she wanted to be honest, Mina wanted to hug the middle-aged man. The elevator continued to move down, and for some reason, Mina felt nervous and tense. This was the first time she had done something out of the ordinary. Suddenly Mr. Yuka's cell phone rang just before the elevator opened on the lobby floor.

"WHAT DO YOU SAY? DID MINA RUN AWAY? How is that possible? HURRY UP AND LOOK FOR HER! I'm sure she hasn't gotten far!!!"

Mina was surprised to hear Mr. Yuka speak. What would happen if her father knew she was standing behind him right now? Mr. Yuka looked tense, his brown eyes flashing with anger. Mina couldn't imagine what would happen if her father suddenly turned around and looked at her.

The elevator doors opened, and Mina breathed a sigh of relief as Mr. Yuka hurriedly exited the elevator just like that. However, Mina was too quick to rejoice. She smiled and raised her head in unison when Mr. Yuka suddenly turned around and looked towards the elevator. Their eyes met. Then Mr. Yuka spontaneously shouted.

"MINA!!!"

Mina panicked, her fingers quickly pressed the elevator button and made the elevator doors close. She prayed that this elevator would take her down faster than Mr. Yuka and his men. The elevator doors opened on the basement floor where the car park was. Mina rushed out and ran to her car. She remembered where she put her car. However, Mina suddenly stopped her steps.

"No, no, no. If I run away in my car, it will be quickly tracked down. I'd rather take another car."

Mina ran towards the security post where the keys to the parked car were placed. Not yet there, Mina heard the steps of people running down the stairs approaching. Mina looked towards the stairs, there were several people sent by her father there. Mina abandoned her intention and now chose to walk down while hiding among the parked cars.

"Oh my God... what do I do now? Don't let them find me," Mina pleaded silently.

Suddenly Mina saw a car that was running, it seemed like the owner had unlocked it from afar. Without wasting time, Mina immediately got into the back seat of the car. She didn't know what she should do, the important thing right now was to get away from this place as quickly as possible.

Mina sat hidden behind the driver's seat and she hoped that the owner of the car would not know about her whereabouts. However, Mina was wrong. The driver came in, sat down in his seat, and then turned around and immediately pulled Mina's pet hat off.

"Who are you?" the car owner exclaimed.

Mina fell silent, bowing her head as she caught her breath. It seemed that she would have to get caught this time. Mina slowly raised her head and saw the handsome man who was looking at her intently. Mina was shocked to death when she saw him. Then she unconsciously made a sound.

"Alby Allister?"

"How do you know my name?" asked the driver, who was none other than Alby Allister.

Alby chuckled and prepared to get out. Mina immediately glared and pulled Alby's hand to prevent him from doing so.

"Please, don't do that. You don't know what I'm dealing with right now. It's a matter of one's life."

Alby furrowed his brows and looked curiously at Mina. Mina smiled again while smoothing her brown hair.

"I'll explain everything to you, but take me away from here first," Mina pleaded.

Alby was silent and only looked at Mina sharply. Mina sighed and knew that Alby didn't believe her at all.

"Believe me you've helped me before and I'm sure you'll do it again this time."

Alby became even more confused and furrowed his brows. Mina knew her words made the handsome man in front of her even more curious. Then Mina remembered something and immediately smiled.

"I hope your grandfather's health is fine, don't let him have another heart attack."

"Hey!!! How did you know that my grandfather had a heart attack?"

Mina smiled. "If you want to know more. Get out of here!!!"

Alby seemed to consider Mina's words this time. He had already turned around, fastened the seat belt, and then started the car and drove away from the hotel parking lot. Mina breathed a sigh of relief as she repeatedly rubbed her chest. She had sat normally in the back seat and now Alby was looking at her with a disapproving look through the rearview mirror.

Mina knew Alby's reaction, she quickly moved and sat next to Alby by jumping. Mina grimaced while smiling at Alby and fastened her seat belt properly. Alby just watched from the corner of his eye as he continued to focus on driving.

"When are you going to tell me?" Alby demanded Mina's promise.

Mina smiled as she glanced at Alby. "Where do you want me to tell you?"

"Just tell me how you know my name!"

Mina was silent. Her eyes were rolling as if she was looking for an answer to Alby's question. Then somehow Mina smiled again.

"I know from your grandfather. I met him at the hospital." Mina started her story with a lie. At least she had spoken the truth about their meeting.

Alby furrowed his brows with eyes that continued to focus forward. "Grandpa? What did he say?"

"Eng... he didn't say anything. Just said that he has a nice, handsome grandson named Alby Allister." Mina tried to continue her lie.

Alby just kept quiet while nodding his head. Mina didn't know the meaning of Alby's gesture at this time, she believed even the opposite of Mina's story.

"Then you know my grandfather?" Mina nodded with a sweet smile. She forgot that this gesture of hers was the beginning of her impending doom.

Alby also nodded his head and then looked at Mina with the corner of his eye. Mina herself did not know what Alby's gaze meant to her.

"Okay. What's my grandfather's name then?"

Instantly Mina fell silent. Her lips were pressed tightly together, her eyes also kept blinking while looking sharply at Alby. She didn't expect Alby to ask her like that. Stupidly, Mina did not find out more information about Alby first. However, how could it be? Her meeting with Alby was unexpected. It was as if God was planning a new destiny for her.

"Why the silence? You said you knew my grandfather." Alby asked again, now raising his voice a little higher. It was obvious that the man next to him was angry with Mina.

Mina had not answered and did not dare to look at Alby at all. She regretted her stupidity, she should have made up another story earlier. However, then Alby would be suspicious if Mina corrected her story.

"Did you see the black sedan behind us?" Alby suddenly raised his voice again. Mina turned around and looked at the back of the car. Then she nodded her head in answer to Alby's question.

"Ever since we left the hotel, that sedan has been following us and it seems like it knows you're hiding in my car."

Mina was wide-eyed and now looked at Alby with fear. Alby looked pleased at Mina's expression and even etched a strange grin on his handsome face.

"So tell me frankly who you are!!! Or I'll drop you off and hand you over to the car in the back."

Mina shook her head quickly while her hand touched Alby's arm who was busy changing gears.

"Please... don't do that!!! I don't want them to catch me. Please... I could die if they catch me and not even just me. My father could die." Mina was already babbling and of course, her words confused Alby.

Alby stopped the car at a red light and was now looking at Mina intently. Mina was silent and bowed her head. It was obvious that she was nervous, there were many things that she now had to explain to Alby. Mina only hoped that the man in front of her would help.

"I... I ran away from my marriage. I was set up and I didn't want to. I didn't like my future husband. He was evil and had conspired with my stepmother. I know their evil intentions. That's why I ran away."

Alby just stayed silent while looking at Mina sharply. Mina let out a long breath then raised her middle and index fingers like a person swearing.

"I'm not lying, Alby. I swear!!!"

Mina looked at Alby earnestly and the handsome man hurriedly turned his face away then started running his car again. They were both silent, occasionally Mina looked back to make sure the car behind was still following her or not.

"Then what's your name? You haven't said your name yet?" Alby raised his voice again and was softer than before.

Mina breathed a sigh of relief. She assumed that Alby believed her story and would help her this time.

"I'm Mina. Mina Namari."

Alby just nodded while looking back at Mina with the corner of his eye. "Good, I like your name and... your body."

Mina gasped in surprise when she heard the last part of Alby's sentence just now. She looked back at Alby and Alby seemed to know that the girl sitting next to him was waiting for the continuation of his sentence.

"Since I helped you, it's your turn to help me."

"What help do you need?"

Alby smiled with a grin as he turned to Mina. The handsome man's intense eyes were now scanning Mina's body and Mina became uncomfortable with it. Spontaneously she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Alby immediately chuckled at Mina's actions.
