In the heart of Langmere city, one of the top billionaire companies in London, was facing a crisis. Key investors were pulling out, suppliers were terminating contracts, and top executives were resigning.

"We cannot allow everything to crumble, there has to be a way out of this situation." Reginald Thorne spoke to his son Cassian.

The meeting with the investors had gone sour as they had expressed dissatisfaction with the next plan of the company.

Cassian being the head of operations was thinking about a new way to save his father's company before it would go bankrupt.

"At this point I have no words to say." He revealed to his father.

Reginald was going to say something when the door opened and a woman walked into the room.

Cassian's heart dropped the moment he laid eyes on her.

Long straight brunette hair, flattery seductive gray eyes, Slim thick and she was approaching them like she owns the place.

All these features were not the aspect that surprised Cassian. It was the resemblance that struck his mind more than anything.

"My name is Veronica Steele," She introduced properly and looked towards Cassian's direction.

His heart raced the moment they locked eyes. The nagging feeling of Aurora standing before him, became strong.

The resemblance was too much.

"Have we met before?" Cassian asked.

"No," She replied quick.

"You look like my late wife Aurora." Cassian pointed out, turning to look at his father who's eyes widened at his comment.

Veronica smiled and cleared her throat. ""I am not Aurora, I am Veronica Steele. And I'm here to buy your falling empire." She revealed.

"This empire needs all the support it can gets. What makes you think you are the right person for it?" Reginald asked.

"Because I am everything the company needs. I have a large amount of shares across every single corporation in this city and I am also the head of Mack Fashion Industries."

Cassian's eyes widened further. She certainly isn't Aurora.

"Can I have a word with my son Miss Veronica?" Reginald asked, picking up the telephone. "I will inform my personal assistant to give you a good reception." He said.

Reginald spoke through the telephone and moments later a blonde hair lady walked into the room, she ushered Veronica out leaving Cassian with his father.

"That is Aurora father. She is not dead." Cassian pointed out.

"Nonsense. I personally made sure that she is handled while she was in prison."

Flash Back...

Aurora stared down at Cassian through the window of the police van. Tears were dropping down her eyes as the man that she loved looked away.

How could he betray her like that?

She always thought they were going to live long enough to witness the birth of their child but he had to frame her for the things she didn't do.

Cassian had lied about her involvement in drug supplies and because of that, she was arrested.

"You are going to suffer miserably in prison woman." One of the Police men said before they drove off from the mansion.

Flash Back ended.

"I called one of the police officers and he took care of business. I am sure she is long buried." Reginald informed his son.

Cassian fell into deep thought while his father paced around the office in silence. He stopped and then turned around to face his son.

"We have serious situations in our hands. My company should not be allowed to go down after years of hard work. We must keep pushing." He said.

"Are you suggesting we accept her deal?" Cassian asked.

"Let's listen to what she has to say." Reginald suggested and then pressed the telephone.

He informed the secretary to bring back Veronica. Moments later the door opened and she graciously walked into the room.

"We will listen to your offer and make our decision." Reginald revealed.

Veronica smiled and then begins to speak. "Fifty Million dollars to float the areas that have been ruined due to lack of adequate funding and a twenty percent dividend by the end of the year."

"That is too much." Cassian responded and Veronica turned to face him. "You don't have a choice Mr. Your empire is falling and you need me." She boasted.

Reginald was silent thinking through the offer for a moment. It was a great deal but just like Cassian had said, it wasn't what they needed.

"Make it a hundred Million dollars and then fifteen percent dividend at the end of the year." He suggested.

Veronica chuckled. "You must think I am some sort of fool. This company hasn't earned a gross income up to a billion dollars in the last four months. I will be loosing if I invest heavily."

"Then we don't have a deal." Reginald responded.

"Such egoistical men even in the face of adversity. I guess I will take my deal somewhere else." She said and turned around to leave.

"Excuse me." She paused and looked to Cassian, "Do you perhaps know a woman named Aurora?"

Veronica rolled her eyes at him. "If you are missing your wife, then go to the grave and mourn her death and take another." She spat before walking out the door.

Outside the company she was heading towards her car, when a phone call came through. Veronica noticed it was from an unfamiliar number but she still picked.

"Hello?"

"Hey sweetheart?" A deep voice came through.

"Who is this?" She asked, squinting her eyes in confusion.

"I found your poster across and picked out your number and decided to let you know you are gorgeous." He said.

Veronica rolled her eyes and remained silent.

"Seems you didn't like the joke." The man asked.

"It is a horrible joke Dom. Do you think I will not recognize your voice?"

"Maybe we can try another one soon." He said and they laughed.

Veronica got into her vehicle, the phone still placed in her hand

"So what did the both of you agreed upon?" Dom asked.

"They could not reach an agreement. Cassian was stunned when he saw me. He couldn't believe his eyes."

"As it should be. The Aurora he knows is no longer alive. Veronica Steele rules now." Dominic said.

"I think they will come around. Especially Cassian, I know he still has a soft spot for me and that is when we use it in our favor."

"I know you will find a way to reach something." He said.

Veronica hung up the phone and as her driver drove away, she smiled in content.

This is just the beginning Cassian Thorne. You will regret ever taking such a terrible deal over your wife.

Two days after her first meeting with Cassian and Reginald Thorne, Veronica was texted by the board for an important meeting.

She had arrived on time the moment she learnt that the meeting would be starting soon. She is ushered into the room by the assistant and there she meets so many board of directors already seated.

There was silence and she knew all eyes were on her as she proceed to take her sit. One of the men staring at her was Cassian.

She locked eyes with him until he pulled away.

Reginald Thorne walked to the head of the table and begins to speak.

"We have reconsidered our option and you are here to announce the offer to the board to know what their opinions would be." He said and there was whispers amongst the men seated

"Are you really serious right now?" Veronica asked and chuckled. "You waited for me to inform everyone about my proposition when you and your son could have done it?"

"It is called protocols Miss Veronica." Cassian interrupted.

"How rude..." She replied, glaring at him. "You talk about protocols like you even know what that is all about." She snapped at him.

"Alright Miss Veronica. I will tell everyone." Reginald said.

He informs the board of directors about the offer and everything involved. After his speech, there was so many hands raised and only one of those hands could be attended.

"Why have you suddenly picked interest in this company? For all we know, you are the CEO of Mack Fashion Industry, which has provided a billion dollar market." One of the investors said.

"I am a business woman and this is the brightest idea. Your company even though it has some irregularities has also recorded good gross income."

"That's not a good way to speak to us like that." Casisan interrupted again.

This time, Veronica got up from her sit and was going to walk out of the board room but was called back by Reginald.

"Please." He begged.

"I have been disrespected by your son and I demand an apology." She voiced out.

Cassian squinted his eyes in confusion. "Apologize for saying the truth. If this is the behavior you are bringing, then you can keep your deal."

Veronica smiled as another plan came to her head. She pulled out her cheque and wrote a couple of figures and handed it over to the secretary.

"Over there is hundred and fifty Million dollars. That should be enough money to float this company. But it comes with Thirty percent dividend."

She noticed Reginald twitching.

It was the type of deal that was too good to refuse. This deal could potentially pick the company back to the top.

"That is an amazing deal Miss Veronica. We are going to take the deal and give you Thirty five percent dividend." Reginald revealed.

Cassian turned to look at his father, he cannot believe the words that had come out his lips.

Seeing the behavior from Veronica, it was clear that she had some personal issue with him, but he couldn't point what he had done to her.

"There is one more thing." Veronica pointed out and smiled while staring at Cassian. "As the new investor in this company, I will be needing a personal assistant to do my bidding."

"You can have Catherine over here." Reginald suggested.

"No. Cassian Throne is going to be my personal assistant."

There is a loud mumur in the room. Cassian got into his feet stunned by her words.

"I beg your pardon?" He asked.

"Either you become my personal assistant or I give up helping this company and look for somewhere else."

"This is disrespectful!" Cassian yelled and then turned to face his father. "Why are you not saying anything."

Reginald was lost in thought. He did not want to watch his son become a servant to the woman, but at the same time he needed all the money to help save his company.

"Consider your wish granted." He announced.

"What!" Cassian raised his voice.

"It is best for business son. We cannot throw away this deal." Reginald informed him.

"I am the head of operations. Reducing me to a mere personal assistant is rude and disrespectful."

"It is what is best for business." Reginald replied, leaving Cassian speechless.

Veronica smiled and walked confidently over to his table and dropped her bag. "Pick it up and come with me, we have a lot to catch up." She said and walked out of the room.

Cassian and the rest of the board members were left completely stunned as she closed the door behind them.

Reginald sighed and pulled out his phone and begins to scroll.

"Are you not going to say anything father?" Cassian asked angrily.

"The board meeting is over, everyone should leave." He commanded.

All directors got up to their feet and walked out the door, leaving Cassian and Reginald alone. He walked over to his father and slammed his hand on the table.

"You are a disgrace for what you are doing!" He spat.

"Watch your tongue son." He warned.

"You are going to watch her embarrass me without saying anything?"

Reginald's phone begins to ring and he picked it up, ignoring his son's rant.

"Why is my personal assistant still in his board room? Do you want me to withdraw my offer?" Veronica asked.

"No, No. He will be with you shortly." He replied and Veronica hung up the phone afterwards. He turned to face Cassian.

"You heard the woman. Go and meet her now!" He barked.

Cassian remained stunned but he knew that his father meant the words and there was nothing he could do.

He swallowed up his pride and walked out of the board room without uttering another word to his father.

Cassian arrived at the entrance of the company and find Veronica talking to another man. He cleared his throat and Veronica turned to face him.

"Don't be late next time. You must learn to be punctual." Veronica warned.

"I am the head of operations. You are just an investor!" He barked.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at my wife." The man beside her warned.

"Wife?"

"Yes, this is my husband Dominic Vieralli." She introduced with excitement. "Now hurry up, we have an appointment to catch up." She said and walked to the other side of the car.

Cassian remained at the spot, his mind processing what Veronica had told her. If he ever thought Veronica was the same person as Aurora, then he was wrong.

Aurora was gentle and kind. Veronica was simply similar but a harsh woman.

The drive on the road was a long hectic one filled with so much tension between Cassian and Veronica.

At first she was confident about the whole agreement of Cassian being her personal assistant but after so much thoughts she wondered if it was necessary after all.

The car stopped by Ade all exclusive house party where they were to meet the CEO of lion's Gates incorporation.

Veronica got out of the car and stretched out her hand to Cassian who hesitated before handing over the bag to her.

There were so much cameras taking pictures of them as Veronica held hands with Dominic while Cassian walked behind them.

At first he had made a resolution that he wasn't going to step into the exclusive party to meet with the CEO because he was well known and it will be an embarrassment on his part.

Considering what the paparazzis could say over the internet he had to walk inside.

Do you mean to enter the into the event Hall he's eyes landed on a very familiar person and he tried to dodge but he was caught.

"Well well well. What is my special twin brother doing in an exclusive party at this time? Are you not supposed to be in the company working things out with father?"

"Caleb. I only came here for certain reasons." Cassian mumbled.

"Where the hell have you been? I told you to come with me so that you can take record of the things that I will be doing and needing for our next meeting and here you are pandering about with...."

Veronica paused the moment she noticed an identical face standing next to Cassian.

"Who is she and why is she talking to you like that?" Caleb asked.

"So you are a twin huh? Interesting." Veronica revealed with a smile on her face. "My name is Veronica Steele. The new investor for your father's company."

"And you think I care about what position you hold?" Caleb asked.

"That is the problem I have with this family. Everyone of you have a huge ego and don't want to learn except through the hard way." Veronica remarked angrily.

"Talk to me I don't care if you want to roast Cassian but watch your tongue woman." Caleb warned.

Veronica was angry she had thought things was going well but never believed that Cassian had a twin brother up to this moment.

She had to come up with a very good plan.

"Dominic!" She called and her husband excused himself from the brief meeting he was hosting with some of the members of the oil company.

"What's the stress darling?" He asked, coming over and wrapping his arms around her.

"This is Caleb and he has been rude. I think he needs to be taught a lesson." Veronica said

"I beg your pardon?" Caleb replied and chuckled. He turned to Cassian, who has been silent. "And you stand there hearing the words coming out of her mouth and you cannot say anything? What's wrong with you Cassian?"

Cassian placed his hand on his nose. It was a sign of nervousness whenever he was confronted with a tough situation.

He and his twin brother didn't necessarily get along easily and before this very moments they hated each other because of the quest for power.

"Maybe Cassian didn't tell you but he is my assistant." Veronica revealed with a proud smile on her face.

Caleb was stunned. He turned to face Cassian, whose head was buried into his palm in embrassment.

"How did you end up with her anyways? Isn't she supposed to be like your wife or something?" Caleb asked.

"I am not his wife. I am tired of the comparison." Veronica replied angrily.

The CEO of Lion's gate walked into the moment easing the tension down a little bit as he cleared his throat.

"I have made valid enquiry and I think Thorne group of companies will be listed in our stock." He said.

"What stock? What is happening?" Cassian broke the silence and turned to face Veronica.

"Well, I figured if I am going to be an investor in your company they will be needing the stock market. Every stock broker will have access to invest"

"Are you out of your mind!" Cassian yelled, causing everyone to look into their direction. "I will not allow this!" He added.

Veronica said no words.

"How did this slut even gain access to decision making in our company." Caleb asked angrily.

His words triggered a hidden anger in Veronica that she walked forward and slapped him across the face.

There was a loud gasp from everyone who witnessed the scene.

"Don't you ever say those words to me again!" She warned and walked off with Dominic trailing right behind her.

They got into the car and drove off, leaving Cassian behind.

"I didn't know you had that in you." Dominic said with a smile on his face.

"Do you really think i am going to take it easy with the people that tried to ruin my life and my baby? I am just getting started Dominic. That family will pay for everything they did." She said.

After a couple of hours on the road, they arrived at the fashion house and Veronica stormed into the building, still angry with Caleb's comment.

She wished she had known earlier that Cassian had a twin, she would have found a way to deal with him appropriately.

"Good afternoon ma'am." One of her assistants, Lewis greeted holding out a document in his hand.

Veronica settled down on the table and picked the documents away and decides to read through before signing it, until something caught her attention.

"Whose signature is this?" She asked, noticing the familiar ink.

"Oh, it is from Thorne Group of company. The CEO has ordered fifty tailored suit for an event that is coming up in the company." He revealed.

"Did he mentioned the nature of these events?" Veronica asked.

"No ma'am, he never did. He said they were important and will be getting them tomorrow."

Veronica picked up the document and tore it to pieces, to the surprise of Lewis.

"We are not supplying the Thorne family until they make payments. Reginald Thorne is a crafty man and will not want to fall for his mind games." She said and threw the pieces into the waste bin.

After Lewis her assistant was gone, Veronica sat back recalling all the evil she faced in the prison and the attempts to take her life back when she was still Aurora.

If Cassian was accepting a deal over their bond, she will make him see his mistakes and he will learn the hard way.
