Chapter 1 Prologue

Alexander looked at his watch once more. He had been sitting in this office for about thirty minutes waiting for his future partner. Alysson Hart was a formidable businesswoman, in the industry, she was called heart of stone because she was ruthless. She felt no remorse in crushing anyone who got in her way. But doing business with her was too tempting for Alexander because it was profitable for both of them. They were finally going to meet after months of speaking through their lawyers. He sighed again because she was late.

He questioned the young woman who had just brought him his third coffee. She made him understand with a desolate look that the boss had not yet set foot in the company. Alexander was a patient person, but this young woman was putting his nerves to the test.

He stood up and began to examine the office in great detail. It was very feminine unlike hers which was more masculine. He saw a portrait of Alysson hanging on the wall. She was stunningly beautiful. Her face closed but very beautiful. Alexander found himself imagining kissing that adorable little mouth of hers before pushing those inappropriate thoughts out of his mind. He returned to his seat and took his coffee which he brought to his lips.

- Yes, aunt, I know, I haven't forgotten you. I will come see you as soon as possible and I will even send you gifts. Alysson replied exasperated.

- Are you sure you'll come? his aunt asked once again on the other end of the line.

- Of course I'll come, but now I have to work, we'll talk later.

Alysson hung up without giving her aunt a chance to say a word. She got out of the car and headed to her business. This company was his greatest pride. Her mother had fought for her to see the light of day and Alysson continued to fight to raise her to the top. His entry into the company caused a sensation. Alysson loved the attention, even though all her employees were only women, they loved showing them who was the boss and who was the most stylish in the company. She had sworn to herself never to hire a man because they were not trustworthy, her mother's experience was palpable proof of this. She entered her personal elevator. A few minutes later she arrived at her office. His secretary stood up and gave him her daily smile.

- How are you, Harriet, she asked him.

- I'm fine, miss, and you?

I'm not complaining, she replied, pulling the door handle.

- Miss, I have to tell you that.....

- Later Harriet. she cut her off.

Alysson closed the door to her office and her eyes darkened. A man in her office, impossible, she hated them like the plague. Who was the one who dared to set foot in his company and who was the reckless one who let him in?

- Can we know what you're doing here? She growled, heading towards him visibly angry.

He finally stood up and Alysson thought he would falter, he was so impressive. This man was manhood made flesh. He wore a simple shirt that outlined his impressive muscles to perfection. He was by far the most handsome man she had ever seen. Alysson found herself dreaming of being snuggled up against that muscular chest. She had to give herself a mental slap to come to her senses. This man was looking at her in a very disturbing way and she didn't want to let himself be disturbed by him.

- If it's for the assistant position that you're here, well, I'm sorry, but I only hire women, she continued once at his level.

Alexander no longer listened to what she said, he was so fascinated by her beauty. He wasn't wrong, Alysson Hart was an exquisite temptation. Blonde, she had locked her hair in a strict bun. With a thin mouth and a translucent complexion, she looked stunning in her tailor-made suit.

- I'm talking to you here, Alysson shouted, bringing him out of his thoughts.

- Sorry I was somewhere else, replied Alexander.

His voice was hoarse and composed. For some reason, Alysson felt entranced by her.

"I see," she replied, raising an eyebrow. So I was saying I don't want a male assistant but for some reason I'm going to go against the grain and hire you.

She walked around him and came to sit at his desk. His virile scent tickled his nostrils. Alysson wondered why she hired this man, something in him pushed her to know more about him.

- But finally....

- But nothing at all. I'll hire you, now go get me a coffee. I want it nice and tight and two sugars.

- Wait until I finish speaking, Alexander wanted to reply.

She jumped up, her eyes glaring. She walked over to him and gave him a resounding slap.

- Rule number one, never contradict me, is that clear? she roared. Now make me some coffee.

Without a word, Alexander complied. It was not his habit to harm a woman. It must be said that she liked this little game on the contrary, Alysson Hart may have been a heartless woman but she was magnificent. Alexander wanted to get to know her and the only way to do that was this. He was going to play assistant and learn to make her see life differently. Despite his fiery temperament, she had awakened something special in him.

The coffee machine was in his office. He went there and made her coffee as desired. She brought it back to him but barely a sip, she spilled the coffee all over him.

- I said tight but you did something stupid she shouted. You are incapable, I always have to do everything myself.

Without worrying about whether he was okay, she went to make her own coffee before returning to him with a nonchalant approach.

- This is what we call a well-made coffee, she said to him, showing him her cup.

- You burned me, Alexander told him, and that doesn't seem to worry you in the least.

"It's just a small burn, you'll get over it," she casually said. I'll give you the day, come back tomorrow.

He moved towards the door but she stopped him.

- What's your name again? she asked.

-Jason Parker. he replied.

He had decided to use his cousin's name so she wouldn't suspect anything. Alexander left the office completely furious. The reports about this young woman were true. He had decided to play but it started very badly. He wondered how long he was going to play this game but he knew it was going to end very badly.

Chapter 2 1

Alysson leaned back comfortably in her chair, her mind completely overwhelmed. This man she had just hired as an assistant disturbed her greatly. No man had ever intrigued him so much. She had felt her body vibrate in the face of so much virility. These strong jaws, this sharp-cut face, this impressive musculature and this sensual mouth that she already dreamed of kissing. No, Alysson, you're rambling, she grumbled harshly to herself. She got up and started pacing around her desk nervously, what the hell was happening to her.

The door to his office flew open and his nerves tensed to the limit in the face of the unexpected visitor.

- Can we know what you're doing there? she asked harshly.

- I came to see you, aren't you happy to see me?

- Sorry Charlie but I'm busy, she said on the verge of explosion.

-Charlie? I'm Michael, Michael Carter.

- Finally, I don't care what your name is, I don't want to see you in my company anymore.

She opened the door, making him understand with a look that she wanted to see him out of her sight.

- So, what happened between us means nothing? he asked sadly.

She emitted a cruel laugh and advanced towards him with a feline gait. She began to caress his chest and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

- Honey, I'm not one for feelings. Take it as a moment of relaxation. Everyone had their fun and that's it. She replied with a smile on her lips.

She walked to her bar and grabbed a glass of wine which she savored slowly, letting the liquid flow down her throat. She looked at this man stopped there in front of her. How stupid he was to think there could be something between them. Alysson Hart didn't want romantic feelings or even commitment. "Men are monsters who only play with women's feelings and abandon them once they get what they want. Remember your mother's example" her aunt Margaret kept telling her. Alysson briefly closed her eyes at this painful memory. No, she wasn't weak like her mother and she was never going to be like her. No one was going to make her suffer.

- But I love you, Michael begged.

- Sorry my darling but Alysson Hart doesn't know love and she doesn't want to know it. Now you're out of my office and everything else.

Without a word, he left feeling sad. Alysson would have felt sorry for him if she had feelings but she was heartless. Wasn't she called the woman with a heart of stone? She loved this nickname, it gave her a feeling of omnipotence.

Alexander returned to his apartment still stunned by this rather unusual encounter. With a smile on his lips, he thought of this young woman who was filled with hatred but so beautiful at the same time.

- So this contract? Asked his friend Justin.

- What contract? he continued, perplexed.

- Either you're losing your memory, or it's me, he said, putting his laptop back on the table.

His friend Justin had stayed to sleep at his house because he had had a big argument with his fiancée Madison Parks. A treacherous and greedy young woman. He wondered what his friend was doing with such a woman. Justin wanted to silence the media but Alexander did not approve of his methods. His friend patted him on the shoulder, which brought him back to earth.

- Ah yes the contract, well there was a last minute change. Alexander replied.

Justin raised a questioning eyebrow at him.

-And can we know what kind of change?

- I think I found the woman of my life, adds Alexander with his head in the clouds. She even slapped me and burned me with coffee.

His friend shook his head completely intrigued by Alexander's behavior.

- If I didn't know you I would say you were crazy but this is beyond crazy. His friend called out to him before leaving the apartment.

Alexander took his phone and contacted his cousin Jason who was a private detective. This one arrived a few minutes later.

- What did you do? shouted this one.

- Calm down Jason. It's just for a while.

- This woman is a terror and believe me she will reduce you to ashes when she finds out, he continued nervously.

- I remind you that I am a powerful person I will know how to manage, for the moment I need a CV, I am counting on you to take care of your name. I also need to find other accommodation so that she doesn't unmask me very quickly.

- You're completely crazy but I'm still going to help you because you're my favorite cousin.

- Jason, I am your only cousin.

- That's what I was telling myself, he replied as he left.

Alexander had woken up this morning in a good mood and ready to tackle this day which for him was not going to be very peaceful. Toy assistants for Alysson Hart require enough strength and a lot of courage. His cousin was able to find what he was looking for. He took a quick shower, dressed as presentably as possible and headed to Hart Architecture. Alysson was a very good architect. She had designed several houses, apartments and architectural gems in the country and around the world. He wanted to sign a partnership with her so that she could draw up the plan of an apartment he wanted to build but the signing of the contract had gone differently and here he was, assistant to the most beautiful woman he had been given. duty.

He got out of the car and walked with determination. The looks the other employees gave him were seductive for some and suspicious for others. He knew that his presence in these places was unusual. No man had previously worked in this company before him, so he understood the general surprise.

He got out of the elevator and gave the secretary a polite smile, who returned it. A few knocks on the door, he waited for her to give him permission before entering the office. He found her sitting in her chair more beautiful than ever. With a hard look, she got up and came to meet him.

"You're late for your first day," she snapped.

He looked at his watch and saw that he was a minute late.

- I hate delays, she continued. It's starting out very badly Jason, really very badly.

She returned to her seat and fixed him with a murderous gaze. Alexander felt that this game would certainly put him to the test...

Chapter 3 2

-Do you plan to stay there all your life? she asked after several minutes of silence.

- I'm waiting for you to tell me what I'm supposed to do, Alexander replied.

Alysson glared at him before realizing that she hadn't given him anything to do.

- Start by making me some coffee and this time try to do it properly, she decided.

He walked towards the coffee machine. Alysson couldn't help but look at this pile of muscles which moved with a slow and elegant gait at the same time. For the first time in her life, she felt fire rise to her cheeks. A dull anger compressed his bones. She blamed herself for feeling this kind of feeling for a stranger, never in her life would she have suspected that one day she would feel such an attraction.

"Your coffee," he said, handing her the cup.

Alysson brought it to her lips and saw that it was well made like the day before but she had spilled it on him Just for the pleasure of doing it.

"It's okay," she said.

Alexander observed the young woman once again determined to make her see life on the bright side. Only twenty-five years old, she looked like she was fifty because her face was still so hard and closed. Alexander was not one to suffer pain, he was going to do anything to see a pretty smile on that pretty face, such was the challenge for him.

"Good," Alysson announced, putting down her cup of coffee.

She headed towards a room adjacent to her office that Alexander had not yet seen as he was so obsessed with the young woman's fierce beauty. She beckoned him to come closer.

- This will be your office. As you see, the door is made of glass so I can clearly see from my office whether you are working or not.

Alexander simply nodded his head. She gave him a brief tour of the office. It was a charming little office, it simply had a solid wooden table, an armchair and a stack of files. Nothing decorative.

- Hey miss, this is my CV, you didn't see it yesterday.

She took it and put it back on her desk. She called her secretary who arrived within seconds ready to carry out orders.

- Harriet, hand it over to this gentleman, how already?

- Parker, Jason Parker.

- Give Mr. Parker the work that I gave you to do when this incompetent woman left. It will continue where it left off.

- Okay Miss Hart. She replied.

She went out and returned for a while with files which she gave to him.

- I want you to process Mr. Winslow's file, it has to be ready in an hour.

"Good, Miss Hart," he replied, heading towards his office.

An hour later, he handed her the completely processed file.

"It's perfect," she exclaimed.

- Do you want something else? he asked .

She thought for a few moments.

- Yes indeed, I want you to call the Cyrus firm, I want to know why the hell his client didn't deign to set foot here yesterday to sign the contract.

Alexander then remembered his mistake. He hadn't been able to call Kyle to let him know how things had turned out.

- All things considered, I'm going to do it myself, believe me they will regret this lack of respect, she decided.

- Do you often smile? Alexander asked in an attempt to gain time.

- I beg your pardon ?

- Finally what? Are you fifty years old? he continued.

- How dare you? she growled. I'm not paying you to teach me how I should look. If you want to continue working with me it would be better for you to just do your job, is that clear?

- No, it's not clear. He replied , looking her straight in the eyes. You seem bitter, you blame the world for something that happened to you. Why don't you want to unload all this hatred?

- My life only concerns me. You are just a common assistant, stay in your place. And for your information, I'm twenty-five, not fifty.

- All the more reason to smile, it won't cost you anything. Added Alexander without worrying about the murderous look she was giving him.

- Do you often find yourself being so rude to your employers? she asked dryly.

- No, never, and do you often find yourself being so patient with your employees? he replied.

- No more, and wonder why I don't kick you out.

Smiling, he moved away from her, which served to annoy her even more. Alysson was on the verge of an explosion. His body was nothing but an inferno that could cook an ox in less than a minute. Who did this cheap assistant think he was to say such things to him? None of his employees had ever been able to speak to him like this or even comment on his always so serious demeanor. Alysson realized that she hadn't smiled in so many years. She had even forgotten what smiling meant because she had forbidden it so much. She looked up and saw him focused on his computer. She got up and left the office. She needed to get some fresh air away from this idiot who took real pleasure in making her mad, what surprised her was the fact that she didn't send him away.

Alexander turned his head and saw that she was not there. He decided to call Kyle, a long-time friend.

- How are you doing, old man, he replied out of breath.

- let me guess, you just did some sex.

- Bingo, he replied ironically. What if you told me why you're calling so early?

- Kyle, it's ten o'clock, Alexander replied.

- Well, whatever you want. Answer my question because I have a hot match to finish there.

- Alysson Hart is going to call you, I don't know when, but you'll have to tell her that the contract will be signed in a week.

- I thought you had to sign it yesterday, replied this one perplexed.

- Well, there was a slight setback you see? I'll tell you later. Just do as planned.

"On your orders, chief," he replied , hanging up.

Alysson arrived in front of this office which reminded him of so many things. She opened the door and entered. This office was her mother's and no one was allowed to enter except her. Everything remained intact as before. She fought back the tears that threatened to fall. She wasn't weak, she told herself, only the weak cried. She walked over to the large meeting table and sat down in one of the chairs. This is where she came to sit when she needed to be alone, she felt serene and at peace with herself. The ringing of her cell phone brought her back to earth.

- Hello ? she replied.

- Are you Alysson Hart? asked a man's voice on the other end of the line.

- Yes, it's me. How can I help you?

- I am Doctor Christopher Jordan, your Aunt Margaret's new doctor. She has just had an attack.

Alysson closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again .

- Okay, I'm coming.
