"Boss, forgive me. I will not commit this sort of mistake again." He pleaded, kissing the floor as he begged for his life. Fear was evident on his face. He regretted betraying the greatest mafia boss in the country. It was the biggest mistake of his life, and he was paying dearly for it now.
"You won't live to make this mistake again, Peter. I never spare a traitor, and you know that very well," Dominic said, waving his gun around and blowing cigarette smoke into his face, making Peter even more nervous.
Peter held Dominic's feet and begged, "Forgive me, boss. I promise I won't make such a mistake again. I have a family."
"You should have thought about all this earlier," John growled. "It's too late now."
Peter's face contorted in desperation. "Have mercy on me, Boss."
Arthur stepped forward, his eyes narrowing. "You were passing our information to our enemies; don't you think this mistake is too serious to be forgiven, Peter?"
Peter's voice cracked. "I... I was helpless. Those people threatened to kill my family and sell my daughter to a brothel."
Max's voice dripped with malice. "Jenna, 25 years old, beautiful. Can I make her my slave?"
Dominic's gaze never wavered from Peter. "Do whatever you want with her, Max."
Then, his attention snapped back to Peter. "I won't leave you unpunished."
John's anger flared. "I suspected you for a long time; even if you were forced, you should have remained loyal. Do you think those people are more dangerous than us? We are the most powerful mafia in this country. How did you forget this? Betrayal from us after working for us for 7 years."
Peter's eyes pleaded. "I'm sorry for what I did, but-"
Dominic cut him off. "If I had not married your daughter, you would have fallen here in pieces by now."
Peter's voice barely audible. "I'm sorry..."
The office door swung open just then. Valerie's gentle voice cut through the scene: "Dinner is served."
Every head turned toward the door. Valerie's eyes popped when she registered the room atmosphere. "Dad?"
Dominic had an angry face, but in his eyes flickered a warning. He nodded subtly to Kael.
Kael moved toward Valerie in smooth strides. "Val, let's go."
He placed a gentle hand on her elbow, ushering her out of the office. The door fell shut behind them, leaving muffled sounds of raised voices.
Valerie quivered as she asked Kael, "What's going on? Why's Dad kneeling over there?"
Kael's expression softened, but his eyes remained guarded. He offered a gentle smile. "You don't need to worry about him, Valerie."
Valerie's concern deepened. "But what's happening?"
Kael's tone turned cold. "Anyway, that man doesn't deserve anyone's concern."
Valerie's eyes widened. "That man is my father."
Kael's jaw clenched. "That man was neither a good father nor an honest man. He's getting what he deserves."
Suddenly, a bullet fired with a sharp crack through the air. The sound made Valerie's eyes go wide, and she took a step forward, but Kael held her hand tightly and pulled her back.
"Don't go there, Valerie," said Kael in a hushed, urgent voice. "The boss is very pissed off. It's not safe."
Tears welled in Valerie's eyes, spilling down her cheeks. "He was my father," she whispered with a breaking voice.

Carter quavered in voice with the words, "Why did you shoot him?"
Dominic's gaze turned glacial, his eyes blazing with anger. "I'm the boss here, and I don't need to explain anything to anyone."
With that, Dominic turned and strode away, leaving the others in stunned silence.
Carter's eyes narrowed. "We could use this bastard against our enemies."
Arthur's expression turned skeptical. "This bastard is not to be trusted."
Carter persisted. "But Dominic also had the same plan."
John's voice dripped with calculation. "We know the reason for this. Valerie, if this man was alive, surely she would have shown mercy towards him. And Dominic would not have been able to refuse Valerie."
Max snorted. "Love is bullshit. Dominic is cruel to everyone except his wife."
Arthur's tone turned cynical. "Because his wife is going to give birth to his heir."
The room fell silent, the weight of Dominic's motivations hanging in the air like a challenge. The men knew better than to question their boss's actions, but the whispers of doubt had already begun to spread.
As they dispersed, the sound of Dominic's footsteps faded into the distance, leaving behind an atmosphere thick with tension and unspoken questions.
*************************
Valerie and Kael's embrace lingered until Dominic's fake cough broke the spell. Valerie's gaze shifted, meeting Dominic's piercing stare.
Dominic signaled to Kael, and he discreetly exited, leaving the two alone.
Dominic's expression softened as he approached Valerie. "These six men of mine used to be the most cruel once, but after you came, they became humans from animals."
Valerie remained silent, her eyes searching Dominic's face.
"Baby, next time, before you come to my office, knock on the door," Dominic reminded her, his tone gentle.
Valerie's voice trembled. "How can you be so calm?"
Dominic's brow furrowed. "And why are you so stressed, baby? May has a problem; I don't want my son to have any problems. Did you have dinner?"
Valerie shook her head. "No."
Dominic's expression turned stern. "How can you do this? It's your responsibility to take care of my baby. I won't tolerate it next time."
Valerie's eyes dropped. "Sorry."
Dominic's tone softened. "Okay, I'll feed you."
He offered his arm, and Valerie took it, allowing him to lead her to the dining area. The tension between them melted away to make way for an easy warmth and familiarity.
As they walked, Dominic's hand drifted to Valerie's stomach, a gentle caress. "My priority for all time next is you and our little one."
Valerie's gaze met his, a mix of love and concern reflected in her eyes.
Dominic guided Valerie to the dining area; within her mind, her father's image of kneeling on the floor repeated, the gunshot still echoing.
Shiver in her spine as Dominic's warm touch passes his palm through her neat stomach, hitherto stark contrast with what had happened right in front of her.
***************
Dominic scooped up a mouthful and fed Valerie, eyes fixed on her. She turned her gaze back at him, searching for something in his eyes.
"I know I'm handsome," Dominic said, a hint of amusement dancing in his voice.
Valerie's expression remained serious. "It's impossible to understand you," she whispered. "Dangerous mafia king in one moment, and loving, soft husband in another."
His expression softened as he said, "I love you, Valerie. And I can't hurt you unless you do something unbearable."
In a soft, thin voice: "Sometimes, I am afraid of you."
Dominic's eyes gleamed with intensity. "It's good. You should fear and love only me."
Just then, Drax appeared at the doorway. "Boss, I brought her."
Valerie's head turned, curiosity etched on her face. "Who?"
She asked, "What is this?" Darkening Dominic's gaze swiftly towards him.
Drax's eyes shifted from Dominic to Valerie before retreating. "I'll catch you later," he said.
The tension in the room spiked as Drax disappeared, leaving Valerie with more questions.
"Who is she?" Valerie asked, her voice laced with unease.
Dominic's mask slipped back into place, his expression unreadable. "No one you need to worry about."
Valerie's eyes narrowed. "Don't lie to me, Dominic."
Dominic's jaw clenched, his eyes flashing with warning. "Drop it, Valerie."
The air thickened with unspoken threats, Valerie's heart racing with anticipation. What secrets was Dominic hiding? And who was the mysterious woman Drax had brought?
Valerie's curiosity lingered. "Drax... whom was he talking about?"
Dominic's expression turned stern. "That's enough for today, baby. You're interfering a lot in my work. You should go to sleep now. My son might also want to sleep."
Valerie's face was wrinkled. "Dominic, I'm just three months pregnant, and we still don't know if it's a boy or a girl."
Dominic touched that soft belly with the gentlest of his hands, "I know it's a son, my heir, the next mafia king."
The smile faded on her lips, leaving a chill down her spine.
Specialization in softening the eyes-"Thank you, Valerie. I always wanted to be a dad, and you made my dream come true. This baby is very important to me, and it's your responsibility to take care of it."
He wrapped Valerie in his powerful arms, holding her to his chest.
"I can walk, sir," Valerie protested.
"But I don't want you to," Dominic replied, his voice firm.
He laid Valerie on the bed, his gaze lingering on her.
"Sleep," Dominic ordered, his voice gentle.
Valerie's eyes searched for answers. "But you-"
"I have some work," Dominic interrupted. "I'll be back soon."
He kissed Valerie's forehead, his lips warm.
"Good night, my lovely wife and my little one."
With that, Dominic left, leaving Valerie alone in the darkness, her thoughts swirling with unease.
As the door closed, Valerie's eyes adjusted to the dim light, her mind racing with questions. What secrets was Dominic hiding? And what lay ahead for their unborn child, already destined to inherit the mafia throne?
************************
Dominic's voice was laced with warning. "How many times will I have to say it? Don't say anything in front of Valerie. If she takes stress, it will affect the baby."
Drax bowed his head. "Sorry, Boss."
Dominic's gaze shifted to Max. "Where is that girl?"
Max's smile twisted. "In my room, Boss. Can I play with her tonight?"
Arthur intervened, his tone cautious. "Dominic, she is Valerie's sister-her step-sister, to be precise."
Dominic's eyes narrowed. "I don't mind if she's her blood sister. I wanted her because she's Viktor Morano 's girlfriend. Valerie's dad thought we wouldn't know this."
Carter's voice dripped with malice. "Torture her. Make her talk."
John spoke up, concern etched on his face. "If Valerie comes to know that we're torturing her sister here-"
Dominic's expression turned cold. "Arthur, Valerie should not know anything. I wanted Viktor's weakness, and now she's in front of me. You have to take care of Valerie."
Arthur nodded. "Okay, Boss."
Max's eagerness was palpable. "Is it necessary to torture?"
Dominic's jaw clenched. "Yes. She should know what pain is-what Valerie suffered once."
The room fell silent, the weight of Dominic's words hanging like a dark promise. They were all very well aware that once Dominic made up his mind, there was no way he would change it.
Meanwhile, in some other part of the mansion, a young woman dreaded things in the dark, oblivious to what awaited her.
****************************
This is Valarie's point of view.
I never thought my life would one day end up like this. I had grown up with pain and suffering. My mother died the day I was seven. I saw how my once merrier mother got into darkness as she lived her whole life in dread due to the cruelties of my father.
Every day, my father's alcohol-fueled rage would unleash on her. I remember the sound of screams, the crashes, and the tears. My mother couldn't bear it anymore, and one fateful night, she chose to leave this world behind.
The aftermath was crippling. My father's anger shifted to me, his innocent child. I was young, lost, and defenseless. No one listened; no one believed me. I was trapped.
Years passed, but the agony persisted. My father remarried, seeking solace in a new family. His bride brought a daughter, Jenna, my age and soon-to-be stepsister. Her arrival tripled my torment.
My father, his wife, and Jenna formed a toxic triangle, each taking turns to chip away at my soul. The physical pain was bearable, but the emotional scars ran deep.
******************************
My father's mistakes caught up with him. He worked for Dominic, the powerful mafia king, who discovered my father's embezzlement. Dominic's punishment was swift and merciless.
Little did I know, my father's fate would become intertwined with mine, forever changing the course of my life.
Now, as I lay in Dominic's mansion, his wife and carrying his child, I wonder: Will my past continue to haunt me, or will I find redemption?
Then, Dominic's gaze fell upon me, and he spared my father's life for my sake alone. But his words sent shivers down my spine: "You have two options - hand her over or watch your family perish."
My father, devoid of compassion, relinquished me to Dominic's mercy. I feared another hell awaited me, that I'd become his slave, subjected to unspeakable horrors. But Dominic defied my expectations.
He married me, granting me respect and status as his wife. His six companions, once intimidating figures, transformed into loyal protectors. Arthur, Max, Kael, Drax, Carter, and John became my unlikely friends, their rugged exteriors hiding kind hearts.
As the mafia king's wife, I grew accustomed to gunfire and screams echoing through the mansion's halls. Initially, these sounds haunted me, but time numbed my senses.
Dominic's love enveloped me, and I reciprocated, finding solace in his embrace. Our child grew within me, a symbol of hope. Yet, trepidation crept in - would our baby follow in Dominic's footsteps, inheriting the darkness of the mafia world?
I longed to shield our child from this realm, to raise them with values of compassion and kindness. But Dominic's grip on the mafia was unyielding; could I ever change him?
In the silence of the night, I whispered a silent prayer: "May our child be different, may they choose a path of righteousness." But Dominic's shadow loomed large, a reminder that our baby's fate was already intertwined with the mafia's destiny.
Still, I held onto hope. For now, I was content in Dominic's love, surrounded by unlikely friends, and carrying the promise of a new life - our family, our haven.
*******************************
Jenna's voice trembled. "Please, don't do that."
Max's grin twisted. "I'm just playing. Let you be my pet for tonight."
Jenna's eyes flashed with defiance. "Viktor will kill you."
Max's expression darkened. "Ahh, baby doll, you made a grave mistake saying Viktor's name. That bastard is my worst enemy. He killed my sister."
His tone turned sinister. "I just wanted to play, to have fun together, but now you'll be punished."
Max's command echoed through the room. "STRIP!"
Jenna's eyes widened in horror.
"Don't do that," she begged.
Max's patience snapped. "I'm the least patient of all, and I don't repeat my words. Either you take off your clothes or I'll tear them."
The silence was oppressive.
"NOW!!" Max bellowed.
Jenna stood frozen, her silence infuriating Max. He grasped a belt, the leather cracking through the air.
Jenna screamed as the first lash struck, her body trembling with pain. Max's frenzy continued, ripping off her clothes, beating her with the belt. Jenna's back bled, her cries echoing through the room.
Max's voice dripped with malice. "Valerie felt the same pain when you beat her with a belt, just because she accidentally tore your dress."
Jenna's eyes went wide, her gaze locked on Max's twisted face.
"Feel the pain, baby doll. It's just the beginning."
*************************
Valerie's eyes snapped open, jarred awake by a familiar, painful voice. She knew whose voice it was, and her heart sank. Throwing off the covers, she rushed to the door.
Arthur stood guard outside, his expression stern. "Go back to sleep, Valerie. Dominic won't like it."
Valerie's determination faltered for a moment, but the sound of Jenna's cries still echoed in her mind. "Is that Jenna's voice? Why is she here?" Memories of her father's fate flooded back. "First, my father, and now my step-sister... what's going on here?"
Arthur's voice was firm. "Some things you don't need to know, Valerie. Go back to bed."
But Valerie's resolve strengthened. "I want to see her."
As she tried to push past Arthur, he grasped her hand, his grip gentle but unyielding. He pulled her back into the room, closing the door behind them.
Valerie's eyes widened in surprise as Arthur pinned her to the wall, his face inches from hers. His warm breath caressed her skin.
"Dominic... whenever he liked a girl, he used to share her with us," Arthur whispered, his voice low and urgent. "But you, he's restricted us from even seeing you. That means he really loves you. Don't make things difficult, Valerie. Stay away from this. I care about you."
His gaze locked onto hers, intense and pleading. "Please, don't make Dominic turn into a beast again. He's changed a lot."
Arthur released Valerie, stepping back. She stood frozen, shock etched on her face.
The silence hung heavy, filled with unspoken secrets and warnings. Valerie's mind reeled, her heart torn between concern for Jenna and the weight of Arthur's words.
As the stillness stretched on, Valerie's thoughts whispered a haunting question: What darkness lay hidden behind Dominic's loving facade?
"What's going on? Why is Jenna here? And why is Arthur keeping it a secret?
"Dominic's past is shrouded in darkness. What did Arthur mean by 'turn into a beast again'? Has he hurt others before?
"I thought I knew Dominic, but now I'm not so sure. His love for me feels genuine, but what about his other side?
"Jenna's cries still echo in my mind. I have to find out what's happening to her.
"Arthur cares about me, I sense it. But his loyalty lies with Dominic.
"Can I really trust Dominic? Or am I trapped in a web of secrets and lies?
"I need to protect Jenna, but how? Dominic's grip on me is suffocating.
"What secrets is Arthur hiding? What does he know about Dominic's true nature?
"I'm torn between my love for Dominic and my duty to protect Jenna. What choice will I make?"
Valerie's thoughts eventually subsided, replaced by the soothing rhythm of her heartbeat. She retreated to the sanctuary of her bed, her hands instinctively cradling her belly.
As she lay down, her fingers gently caressed her unborn baby, a sense of peace washing over her. The gentle motion was a reassuring reminder of life's beauty amidst the darkness.
"Stay safe, little one," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Mommy will protect you."
