Davina Donovan, a nineteen-year-old, followed her friends through the crowd to reach the bus, that was supposed to take her to her desired destination. The evening was cold and breezy, the white feather-like clouds had enclasped the sky for the rest of the day.
While the girls were making their way like toddlers in a line, one of them decided to blabber, "Who is wearing such a fancy perfume?" Vivian kept following her friends with a frown on her forehead. She was too tired to take a bus after hours of traveling in a plane to reach their vacation spot.
Vivian wasn't invariably the way she was now, there were times when she wouldn't complain about everything that her senses picked.
"Why are you sniffing strangers Vivian?" Davina rolled her eyes and got inside the bus with Hayley and Clara, with Vivian following them lazily.
"How long will it take us to reach there?" Vivian continued to complain. She wasn't always this annoying, it's just that the recent events had changed her attitude a bit.
"You'll know," Davina responded, hugging her bags and looking out the window.
"He is here!" Hayley whispered from the side seat as the two girls sat together on one side while the other two sat on the other side. Davina looked in the direction of the door to see Hayley's billionaire boyfriend walk in with his two friends.
"Sean!" Hayley's lips smiled, after seeing her handsome boyfriend in blue jeans and a white shirt.
Sean secretly passed her a smile and took a seat behind her with his friend Seth, while their third friend sat behind Davina and Vivian.
Seth, Seann, and Damien had been friends since they were kids. They all came from the same rich backgrounds, but Damien was the most popular and rich among them. At a very young age, he had achieved a lot of respect and status in the business industry, what he didn't get was any manners.
"Oh!" Hayley quickly hid her face to not be noticed by Damien, who despised her for being a countryside girl.
He thought the girls from the countryside or the people with not enough money didn't deserve to be in the same setting as him.
When Sean asked Hayley out, the biggest hurdle in their relationship became Damien. He wasn't very fond of their relationship, he also didn't like Sean to spend time with Hayley, which is why, when they decided to go on a vacation, Sean secretly invited Hayley with her friends so that he could spend time with her when Damien wouldn't be around.
"Argh!" A loud grunt silenced the whole bus, Davina and Vivian shared a glance and then slowly turned around to the person causing a lot of trouble in the seat behind them.
"This is such an uncomfortable way to travel," Damien complaint, making Seth and Sean apologetically look around at the people traveling with them.
Damien had no idea Hayley and her friends were there, he could only recognize Hayley, but thankfully he didn't pay attention to his surroundings.
Davina pulled her phone out of her bag and messaged Hayley since they had quite a space between them to be able to communicate.
Davina: Who is this douchebag behind us?
Davina had sort of figured out that he must be with Seth and Sean, who she had seen and heard of before, but not spend time with him.
Sean and Hayley had not introduced each other to their friends.
Hayley: Sean's friend.
Hayley: Can you please not make my presence known? He doesn't like me.
Davina's eyebrows made a furrow, she did a double-take behind her secretly and rolled her eyes at the guy, who was still trying to adjust in his seat. So he was the guy who hated Hayley to his core?
Davina: So this giant dude hates you?
Davina spared another glance at him and pulled her nose up at how he was reacting to the bus.
Damien was completely unaware of the surroundings; he didn't care who was looking at him or who was talking about him. He was just annoyed that his friends chose such a low standard bus for their ride.
Hayley: This giant dude is very insolent.
Davina sighed and leaned back on the seat. Till then, she thought her friend used to exaggerate Sean's friend's ignorant attitude, but spending two minutes in front of him had made her realize her friend was right about him.
After a few minutes, just when Davina and her friends thought Damien had calmed down, he started moving in his chair again.
"I am getting frustrated with him," Davina mumbled an undertone to Vivian, who rolled her eyes and then scoffed.
"It's not like you two are any different," Vivian seemed to be upset about something, but she was holding back as long as she could.
"Hey, stop the bus!" Davina voiced out of the blue, ignoring everyone who turned to watch her face.
"I have to pee," she had encountered a restroom near a small café, this would be the best time that she eases up before she runs out of the option.
"What the actual f***," Obviously, Damien was the one who was more offended, this girl was the real reason he would be spending more time in this bus now.
Where Davina jumped off the bus to make a run to the public restroom, others too got out quickly to get some snacks.
Damien had different plans though, just a little delay seemed like a punishment to Damien.
He got out of the bus and when nobody was watching, he went ahead to lock the restroom from the outside so that Davina gets to understand how it feels like when you are forced to be somewhere you don't want to be.
Happy with himself, Damien wandered, passing quizzical eyes to the passersby because of the cheap clothing they were wearing.
He ended up on the bus and now everybody had started to wonder where Davina went.
"This kind of behavior is so unacceptable," Damien's comment made everyone agree with him except for Davina's friends.
"Hello?" Davina knocked again, terrified why this door locked on her face, "Hey!" she shouted again but this time, the owner of the shop rushed over for her rescues. He opened the door for Davina, who looked mortified with sweats and messy hair.
"Somebody had locked you," the owner shook his head in disbelief, these kids be playing a lot these days, he thought.
With her mouth dry and her heartbeat accelerated, Davina entered the bus to the angry mob.
"What kind of attitude is this?" one lady spoke, who had been triggered by Damien's comment.
"I am so sorry, somebo---," As Davina decided to explain what had happened, the driver started driving and Davina face planted in the middle of the bus with people laughing at her.
"Perfect!" Damien grinned, recording her fall in his phone.

"What made you think it would be okay to make everybody wait for minutes?" Vivian shook her head as she glared at Davina, who took the spot in front of Damien once again.
What she didn't know was that she had gotten Damien's attention by her irresponsible behavior.
Davina's phone beeped once and Damien straightened his back.
Carla: Hey, you okay?
Davina: Don't worry, things so small can't hurt me.
Davina hunched over to share a glance with her friends and made sure that she smiles at them so that they stop worrying about her.
They reached their vacation spot where a beautiful 5star hotel was booked for Davina and her friends.
As for Damien, he had booked the priciest suit in the same hotel with his friends.
"Can you believe it?" Damien shrugged his shoulders ignorantly, staring at the room service guy to set his bags very carefully.
His friends had been hearing him complain about how small that bus was and how annoying those people were to travel with.
"Hey, guys! I'll go out for a walk now," ever since Sean saw Hayley on the bus, he desperately wanted to be with her.
"We have just arrived, it's time to pop some champagne," Damien was standing beside the waiter, scrutinizing his work to the limit that the waiter's hands had started to sweat.
"I'll take a shower, so don't start before me," Seth came forward for Sean's rescue, the two friends knew how anxiously Sean wanted to spend time with Hayley.
"Fine, let's leave the celebration for the night," Damien finally gave up, letting Sean escape his cage for some time being.
Davina and the girls had already settled down and left their rooms to enjoy the beach outside.
"I'm leaving her here with you, I want her to be happy and content when I pick her up again," Davina warned Sean to not repeat what had happened a month ago when he took Hayley out on a date and she came back home crying because his friend had badly humiliated her.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of her," Sean promised while offering his hand to Hayley, who shyly accepted his offer and parted ways from her friends.
"Now what do we do?" Davina watched her friend's face, Carla was excited to go shopping whilst Vivian wanted to visit the fantasy book club.
"Shopping!" Carla waved her hands in content, quick enough to push her idea first before Vivian could.
"Yay! Let's go," Unaware of Vivian's wish, Davina cheered with Carla. The two had no idea Vivian didn't want to go shopping and since she always had a habit of keeping things to herself, she decided her friends didn't care about her feelings.
"I'll go back and rest a little," Vivian excused as she tiredly yawned and stretched, "my body hurts from all the traveling in the airplane first and then the bus," she was good at selling the idea that she was absolutely fine and happy.
Hence, Davina and Carla couldn't tell Vivian fabricating excuses to not join them.
"Are you sure, do you need something?" Davina wished Vivian could join them. The two had been friends for a long time and lately, Vivian had grown apart from her.
"No! I'll let you know if I do," Vivian forced a smile onto her lips and waved goodbye to the girls.
Where Vivian head back to her hotel room to spend time alone, Davina and Carla were set to visit the shops.
"Wow, this is so cool," Davina picked up a bracelet and smiled, the shops were set near the beach with jewelry and other goodies.
Carla had wandered off to seek her desires whereas Davina was still in the process of deciding which bracelet she should get for Vivian.
"Thank you," she picked up a bracelet and rushed over to get a pineapple margarita for Vivian. Davina had been feeling super low ever since Vivian declined to join them. It wasn't like she had not noticed what was going on, she just thought pushing Vivian into opening up won't work well.
She started sprinting back to the hotel when she didn't that the devil himself was walking her way.
It was Davina's bad luck that she tripped and landed straight onto somebody's hard chest. That wasn't the worst part, where did the drink go?
"Oh sh**!" Davina covered her mouth with her hands when she raised her face and saw Damien covered in pineapple Margarita.
"What the f***!" It took Damien a whole a** minute to comprehend this girl had showered him in Margarita.
Davina knew who he was, her friend had never shut up talking about how rude and difficult he was to deal with. As for Damien, he had known this girl from the bus, irresponsible and clumsy.
"You!" he growled angrily, lowering his face at his ruined shirt and dirty face.
"You weren't watching," Davina took a step back and thought I'd be nice to shift the blame at him, which made him even angrier.
"I gave you a minute to slip out an apology but this is what you decided to say?" His anger knew no limits, he grasped her wrist and pulled her onto his chest but only to shove her against the wall.
Davina was surprised to see how he was reacting to such a small thing.
"Hey, hands off!" Davina shouted, trying to slip out of his grasp but he tightly held onto her arms and pushed her even against the wall.
To avoid their body getting in contact, Davina placed her hands on his chest to create a space between their bodies.
"Apologize," he demanded, digging holes through her eyes. She had never been mistreated before, or should it be said that she never let anyone mistreat her before.
The way he was holding her tightly and towering over her with his gigantic body, she was left silent and a little shaken up.
"I said Apologize now," he brought his face even close to hers and muttered under his breath once again.
Davina's gulp caused a distraction to both, the instant she swallowed the fear down her throat, Damien's eyes followed the visible action.
His eyes traveled down until they stopped on her cleavage, it was just an honest mistake.
3
A gasp heaved Davina's lips and Damien too realized what he had done.
If he wasn't this big, strong, and angry, she would have slapped the crap out of him for staring at her like that.
"I'm not interested," before his action could be questioned, he grunted with a frown.
How dare this girl thought he wanted to stare at her? He thought,
"Let me go," Davina tried to move her body but his grip only tightened around her arm.
"Apologize, take off your cheap cardigan and clean my face of the filth you spilled on me," his words made Davina's eyes jump out of their sockets. The cardigan was just an accessory as she was wearing a white shirt underneath but the fact that he was able to point out so many flaws in her in this one sentence blew her mind.
"Do it or---," Damien leaned over her face to threaten her when a voice distracted them both into turning their face to the side.
"Mister Damien?" A much older-looking guy in blue jeans and shirt with a round hat on looked at Damien with a frown.
It was Damien's time to gulp in embarrassment. The man watched Damien holding Davina aggressively and the sight made him furrow a bit.
"What is going on here?" the man looked like he wasn't expecting such a thing from Damien.
"Umm!" Damien swiftly left go of Davina and stepped away from her, looking between her and Mr. Hymen, who was the owner of grand G-Brand. Mr. Hymen was the person in interest for Damien, he was heading out to have lunch with him so that he can persuade him in doing business with him.
"Hi, Mr. Hymen!" Damien cleared his throat and forced a smile onto his lips but Mr. Hymen didn't look very happy. He had lost his daughter to an abusive relationship, her husband was caught for her murder so he had a pretty solid take on men who abuses girls.
Mr. Hymen only shook his head and then mumbled, "I'll go back to my room now," he didn't want to talk to Damien at that moment.
"Shoot!" Damien cursed once the man walked away from them.
"You!" he pointed his finger at Davina, who was still trying to understand what had just happened and who was this man?
"What me? You were abusing me," she almost let out a shout when Damien hushed her, taking a step further to threaten her into silence.
"Don't say this nonsense," he refused to admit that he was indeed wrong in this situation. He had been known as a perfectionist for so long that he had lost the ability to realize that he could be wrong at times as well.
"Now you are going to fix this," Damien was huffing and puffing, growling at Davina, who was staring back at him with an attitude.
"And why exactly would I do that?" She folded her arms across her chest and with a simple shrug to her shoulders, irritated him more.
"Damien!" Seth had been looking everywhere for Damien, he couldn't believe the guy who wanted to pop the champagne had gone completely missing like he never existed.
"Dam---," Seth stretched his lips sideways at the sight before him.
Damien and Davina seemed like a deadly combo to him. He had heard from Sean and Hayley that Davina was not a typical girl, she was stubborn and very competitive.
"What is going on here?" He approached the two and asked, stealing eyes from Davina.
"Your friend here was abusing me," Davina repeated her phrase, knowing well it would piss Damien off.
"What? Don't say that over and over again," Damien yelled at her and then shared a glance with his friend.
"Mr. Hymen thinks I abuse girls," he ignored Davina and continued to speak to Seth, who was shocked to hear that Damien abused Davina.
"Which he does," Davina was having fun annoying the crap out of Damien. He wasn't a Saint, he did touch her and even scared her so he deserved what he was getting.
"Shut up!" Damien growled at Davina and turned his attention back at Seth.
"Umm! That's not a very good situation," Seth had known Mr. Hymen too and what Damien was confessing was not going to end well in his favor.
"Now what?" Damien still didn't understand why this girl was not leaving? She was the reason behind this whole mess and now she was standing there ignorantly.
"Well, I'll leave now," Davina noticed Damien's stare and decided to leave, there was not much for her to do here anyway.
She rushed back to her room in giggles and content, he had hurt her dear friend Hayley many times, this sounded like an act of perfect revenge.
"You are back early," Vivian was in bed, getting bored and feeling sad for not joining her friends. Seeing Davina back made her jump up in the bed but then she held her excitement back and wore a straight face.
"Here, I saw this and instantly thought of you," Davina jumped in the bed, making the pillows fly off and come down in a split second.
"I was in your memory?" Vivian almost thought Davina will be joking. Davina held her hand to help her wear the bracelet whilst she told her the entire story of her encounter with Damien.
"He is so rude," Vivian's mouth had been left hanging ever since she heard that Damien shoved Davina against the wall and grabbed her.
"Well, now he will know not to mess wi--," Before Davina could pass one last statement to enjoy her victory, the door hung open and Hayley rushed in, streaming tears and gasping for air.
"Oh My God! Hayley, what happened?" Both Davina and Vivian rushed over to comfort their friend but Hayley was quick enough to hide in the bathroom where she could comfortably pour tears.
"That dude is a bas***!" Carla's comment made the girl toss their heads towards the door, where she was standing with a frown over her forehead.
Davina's expressions hardened, "What he did to her?" she knew Damien did something to poor Hayley.
