Chapter 1 The Hottie I Hate

Rylie's POV

My eyes peeled open as a full blast of sunshine hit me in the face. I groaned as I turned over, trying to get some sleep when my brother suddenly sauntered into the room.

"Rylie! Wake up!"

I ignored him trying to act as though I was still asleep. He called me a few more times but eventually left when I didn't budge only to return a few moments later and before I knew what was going on, he was pouring a bucket of icy cold water all over me.

"Myles!!!" I yelled frigidly.

He smirked and said "Good morning to you, sis."

"I am so going to kill you," I yelled running after him.

"Guys! Guys! What is it now?" my mom asked, Myles hiding behind her.

"Myles poured cold water all over me."

"Only because she wouldn't wake up," Myles yelled back and I growled.

"Rylie, go get ready for school. Myles, go up to Rylie's room and clean up the mess the mess you made."

"But Mom..." He tried arguing but one look from my mom stopped him.

Instead he sighed and groaned out a "Yes Ma'am."

As he passed by me, I stuck out my tongue.

"You're such a child."

"And you're such a jerk," I replied, heading up the stairs to the bathroom.

I got to the bathroom and took off all my clothes before heading to the shower and turning it on. It felt good as the warm water cascaded down my body. I was done in no time and I came out to find my room sparkling clean.

I headed towards my closet and picked out the clothes to wear which were a white tank top, blue ripped jeans and white sneakers.

Once I was done dressing, I packed all my necessities into my backpack and headed downstairs for breakfast.

"Morning Mom. Morning Dad. Morning butthead brother of mine."

"Morning to you too, fish face," Myles retorted but before I could reply, my mom jumped in and said "That's enough you two. Eat your breakfast."

"Yes mom," we replied in unison, still giving each other the stink eye.

"So Mom, what's with the noise next door?" I asked, halfway through my sandwich.

"Well we have new neighbors."

"New neighbors!?" I asked, louder than I intended.

"Yeah, new neighbors."

"Who are they?" I tried to ask as casually as I could.

"I haven't had time to meet them yet but they got here late yesterday. You were already asleep."

"Oh okay," I replied going back to my food as I took a trip down memory lane.

The house next door had belonged to my boyfriend, or rather ex boyfriend. He and his family had to move away during the summer and despite all my hopes that we could do it long distance, it didn't work out.

A few weeks after they moved, he uploaded a picture of himself and a girl kissing. I tried calling him to talk it out but he didn't pick my calls...and basically ruined my summer.

I told myself I was over it but it's hard to get over something like that.

"Thanks for the excellent food, Mom. Now I gotta go," I said standing up from my chair and heading to the kitchen sink where I dumped my plate.

"Bye Mom. Bye Dad. Bye butthead," I said as I headed out of the house, not waiting to hear my brother's response.

I made my way to my car and went in. I closed the door, started the car and reversed out of the drive way before heading in the direction of my school.

Rylie Myers is my name. I'm nineteen and I live in Los Angeles, California with my mom, dad and my dumb twin brother, Myles. We live a pretty comfortable life and I really couldn't be happier. I also have two best friends, Olivia and Mason but you'll get to meet them later.

And that's basically all you need to know about me. There's more but you'll find those out later on.

•••

"Hey Liv."

"Hey Ry. How goes it?" Olivia asked as we both stepped out of our cars.

"It's okay, I guess. I have a new neighbor."

"Someone moved in Asher's apartment? Who?"

"No clue. Haven't met them yet but I probably will soon enough. My mom's probably gonna have them over for lunch or something."

"Yeah. You're right."

We continued talking as we made our way to our lockers where Mason caught up with us.

"Hey girls."

"Hi Mace," Olivia and I replied in unison.

"How was your summer?" I asked.

"Totally amazing!"

"Of course it was. Not everyone is lucky enough to win a lottery to go to The Bahamas," Olivia said with a mocking flair.

"Well I did ask you to come with me..."

"Yeah right. In your dreams, lover boy," Olivia snorted then laughed.

Mason joined in but his was an awkward chuckle. He's had a crush on Olivia for years but Olivia has always seen him as a friend, nothing more. Poor Mason!

Anyways I was able to shift the topic and soon we were all laughing together.

Suddenly a high pitched scream suddenly rent the air. I was about checking to see if someone was in trouble when several girls began to scream as well.

I took one look and sighed immediately upon recognizing the source of their screams. It was simple.

There was a new hottie in school! (eye roll)

This happened nearly ever year and judging by their screams. This guy had to be Shawn Mendes cute. The screams increased, there were giggles and chuckling and some girls even began fainting, all of which was comical to me as I stood, patiently waiting to see the cause of everyone's excitement.

I finally did and even I had to admit... The guy was hot! Very hot if I'm to say the truth but for some reason, as soon as I saw him, I instantly disliked him.

Maybe it had something to do with the swagger with which he carried himself or the air if arrogance that surrounded him or the look on his face as he basked in all the attention he was receiving... Whatever it was, I just decided I didn't like the guy.

I've never been one to judge people based on appearances but something about this guy just didn't sit right with me. He just seemed too polished, too perfect...

Something about him just didn't settle well with me. I know it's weird considering the fact that I don't know the guy but something about him didn't feel right.

Anyways, it may not be anything serious. It could just possibly be because of what happened with my ex.

"Oh my gosh Rylie! Are you seeing this?" Olivia said tugging on my arm, her eyes fixed on the new guy.

"I'm seeing it. I'm seeing," I managed to reply as casually as I could.

Sure he was hot but no one needed to know that I felt that way.

"Oh wow! Who is that guy?" Olivia asked after he moved on.

"How would I know? I've standing right here with you since."

"Oh please! He's not even that hot," Mason butted in, obviously annoyed at all the attention the new guy was getting but even I had to arch an eyebrow at him.

"You're kidding right?"

"No. He is not that hot!"

Olivia stared at him for a few seconds before bursting into laughter.

"Oh my gosh Mace! Are you jealous?" she asked in between laughs.

"Of course not!" Mason retorted, obviously embarrassed and annoyed but Olivia didn't notice and kept laughing.

"Oh my gosh! You totes are! I can't believe this!" she said as she continued laughing.

Thankfully, the bell rang and I watched as Mason stormed off, leaving Olivia and I alone.

"What's his deal?" Olivia asked and I contemplated telling her the true reason but I decided against it.

"He probably isn't feeling too well. Come on, let's get to class. We don't wanna be late on the first day no less."

"Yeah. You're right."

***

Our first class went by as uneventful as could be. It was Maths and it was extremely boring. Nevertheless we pulled through and went on to our next class: History.

However, just before class, I made a visit to the toilet where I ran into an unexpected visitor.

"So we'll catch up later?" I said to Olivia who nodded as I made my way to the toilet where I saw quite a sight.

I opened the door to find a girl giving someone who I recognized as the new guy a blowjob in the girl's bathroom.

"Oh my gosh!" I yelled, horrified at the sight in front of me.

Neither behaved as though they saw me and continued until the guy released all over her face.

I watched as she smiled and licked her lips before washing her face clean with water.

"Later baby," the girl said blowing him a kiss before leaving.

I watched the whole scene with my jaw down before eventually bringing my eyes back to him who was leaning against the wall with a satisfied smirk on his face.

"Oh my God!" I yelled staring at him. "What the heck was that?"

Instead of replying, he scowled at me and asked "Don't you have any manners at all?"

"Excuse me!?"

"You heard me, didn't you parents teach you any manners? If you wanted in, you could have just indicated."

"First of all, gross. Secondly, what the heck are you saying? I wasn't the one getting a "blowjob" in the girl's bathroom!"

"And? If you felt offended, you could have just left. Instead you stayed and watched."

"Only because I was too shocked to move, asshat!"

"Mm-hmm. Whatever you say, girlie... Also, feel free to tell me if you want to hook up. You look like you need it," he winked and walked out of the bathroom.

"Okay... What the heck was that?" I asked myself as I stared at the door, unable to get the image of what I'd witnessed out of my head.

Gross! Just plain gross!

***

"Um excuse me. But you're on my seat." I said gently tapping on his shoulder.

He looked up and groaned "Oh it's you."

"Whatever dickface. You're on my seat."

"I didn't see anyone here so no."

"This is my seat. I sit here every time in this class."

"That doesn't make it yours now, does it?"

I sighed. "I'm really not in the mood for all this, um..."

"Blake."

"Yeah Blake. So could you please get up and find another seat?"

"NO! You find another seat. I'm sitting right here and there's nothing you can do to change that...unless you would like to sit on my lap, of course," he winked at me.

"Eww! No," I replied, shivering at the thought.

"Miss Myers, could you please take your seat? Class is about to begin," the teacher said, alerting me to her presence.

Blake snickered and I fought the urge to hit him as I took a seat a few chairs away from him.

"Prick!" I thought as I glared daggers at the back of his head for the remainder of the class.

•••

"So...I heard that you and Blake had a little showdown in History class?" Olivia remarked as we grabbed our trays and joined the lunch line.

"Blake? Oh you mean that new guy?"

"Yeah. Him. So...what happened?"

"Ugh! He's so annoying and incredibly full of himself."

"Oh really? Are you sure you don't like him?"

"Eww! Gross no! Of course not! I don't even see what's so special about him."

"Uh...he's cute and crazy hot."

"He's not that hot!"

"Oh well! If you say so. Still, I won't be surprised if you're with him by graduation."

"Now that will never happen." I replied as we made our way to our table.

We continued talking and laughing as we made our way to our table only to get closer and find that it was already being occupied.

"What's going on here?" I asked as Olivia and I came to view the occupants and unfortunately for me, Blake was there.

"Oh my gosh! Not you again. What are you doing here!?" I asked glaring at him.

"Well I got my lunch and I found an empty table which I am now occupying with these very lovely girls," he said gesturing towards the girls seated around him who giggled at his words.

"Who's your friend if I may ask?" he asked, gesturing towards Olivia who giggled and waved.

I rolled my eyes and said "Well can you and your fan group move? We were planning on sitting here."

"I don't see why I should move? You met us here so you either sit or leave?"

"Maybe we should leave, Ry. No need to make a scene." Olivia said tugging on my sleeve.

"I am not leaving. We always sit here. He can't just move in and steal our spot."

"It's a public cafeteria and anyone can sit anywhere so you can either join us or leave."

By now, everyone's eyes were on us and I could feel the rage in me rising as I fought to keep from slapping that stupid smirk off his face. I took a deep breath and said "Let's go, Liv."

As we walked away, amidst the giggles and murmuring, I heard Blake mutter something that sounded like "Stuck up snobby bitch!"

Once hearing that, I stopped and dropped my tray on the table in front of me and picked up the bowl of soup on my tray. With it in my hand, I walked back to Blake and emptied the bowl of soup on his head to the very last drop.

"What the heck was that for?" he yelled at me.

"Simple! You called me a bitch so I behaved like one."

And with that, I turned around and walked back to my seat.

"Really Ry?" Olivia asked, staring at me.

"Yup," I answered, popping the 'p' at the end.

***

"Mom! Dad! I'm home," I announced as I walked into the house. I looked around and found my mom in the kitchen.

"Hey Mom. Whatcha cooking?" I asked after pecking her on the cheek.

"Well I invited our neighbors over for dinner."

"Oh okay. I'll be in my room then."

"Oh no! You don't. Go wash up. They'll be here soon and you'll be joining us."

"But Mom..." I whined but one look from her made me change my mind.

"Okay Mom," I answered instead as I made my way to my room.

I took a shower and wore a comfortable dress before making my way downstairs just as the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it." I yelled as I made my way to the door.

"Welcome, Mr and Mrs... Wait! What are you doing here!?" I yelled as I came face to face with a very familiar face...

Chapter 2 Dinner...and a Show

Blake's POV

Being the person that I am, I've met a lot of girls in my life but none could be as annoying or bitchy as Rylie Myers. With her dumb name and annoying attitude, without even knowing her that much, I've come to hate her deeply.

I'm usually not someone who judges people without knowing them but any girl who pours soup on me just because she claimed I stole her "spot" is definitely not someone I would want to know...ever!

So you can imagine my shock and surprise when on my visit with my family to our new neighbour's apartment, the door is opened by none other than the girl I seem to hate most in the world, Rylie Myers.

"Tell me this isn't happening...tell me this isn't happening!" I muttered repeatedly as I came face to face with her.

"Welcome, Mr and Mrs... Wait! What are you doing here!?" she yelled once her eyes met mine but I really had no answer for her as I stared at her, still trying to get over what this meant.

We're neighbors! The girl I hate most in the world is my new next-door neighbor!

Rylie's POV

"Welcome, Mr and Mrs... Wait! What are you doing here!?" I yelled as I came face to face with a very familiar face...

"No no no no no!" I began telling myself as I began praying that it wasn't what I thought, that Blake frigging Weston wasn't my new neighbor! He can't be! He just can't!

"Um do you guys know each other already?" I heard someone ask, breaking I and Blake's connection and bringing me back to reality.

"Oh! Um yeah. Yes, we do," I replied, staring at his Mom, trying desperately to keep my emotions at bay.

"Um come on in," I said opening the door wide for them to enter.

"Thanks dear," his mom said as she, her dad, a girl who I presumed was Blake's sister and Blake himself walked in.

I couldn't help but cringe as Blake's cologne wafted into my nostrils when he walked past me. I so can not believe that this is happening!

"Hello! Welcome!" my mom said, walking out of the kitchen.

"Oh hello Janice," Blake's mom said hugging my mom who said "Nice to see you made it, Nina."

When they separated, she introduced herself to Blake's dad as well and then his sister, Ava and finally Blake who'd lost all signs of his earlier shock.

"Blake and Rylie seem to know each other," Nina announced and my mom turned to me obviously surprised.

"You didn't mention that dear."

"I um didn't know that Blake moved next door. He didn't exactly mention that in school, did you Blake?" I answered, turning to Blake who scoffed.

"Yeah right. Like I even knew you ever gave me the chance to. No, you were busy pouring soup all over me."

"And you were too busy getting a blowjob in the girl's bathroom on your very first day!" I retorted angrily.

The look on Blake's face suddenly reminded me where we were and I felt my mouth curve into an "O" as I stared at the group who was currently staring at us with a "What's going on here?" look in their eyes.

"Awkward!" Ava coughed out as an awkward silence prevailed.

Thankfully, Myles took that as the time to appear.

"Mom, I'm home! Sorry I came late," he yelled, coming through the door.

His appearance was just right and if it wouldn't have made things more awkward, I would have hugged him right there but I didn't.

"Oh Myles! Welcome home dear. Where's your dad?" my mom asked, her voice indicating her relief.

"Oh he's on his way in," he replied and thankfully, my dad walked in, just in time.

"Welcome home dear."

"Thanks love. I suppose these are our new neighbors?" my dad asked, standing beside my mom with a smile on his face.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Brad, this is my wife Nina, my daughter, Ava and my son... Blake," Blake's dad said shaking my dad's hand.

"Well we can continue this conversation in the dining room. I'm just about done with dinner so come on," my mom remarked, leading everyone into the dining room.

"Way to go, Rylie!" Blake whispered as he walked by me and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Shut up!" I answered, stomping on his feet before making my way to the dining room with a smirk on my face as I watched Blake limp after me.

Serves him right!

•••

When I got over the fact that Blake Weston was sitting directly across from me, dinner turned out great. If it was any indication, we would be good neighbors.

Both families seem to hit off and I was glad dinner happened and I almost didn't want it to end...almost! Eventually it did and even though I didn't want the Westons to leave, I was glad they did because Blake left as well.

The punk had taken great pleasure in hitting my foot with his during dinner and despite how much I wanted to yell at him to stop, I didn't because I didn't want to make a scene. Instead I retaliated by subtly reaching over and pinching his leg. It didn't last up to five seconds but it was enough to make him stop as he glared hard at smirking me.

Anyways, after the Westons left, I cleared the table with my mom and did the dishes as well. I was exhausted afterwards so I retired to my room.

When in my room, I turned on the light and took off my clothes. Left in my underwear, I was about taking off my bra when I heard someone say, "Nice bra."

Alarmed, I leaned over to check my window when I saw Blake smirking at me as he leaned on his window.

Gasping, I grabbed a blanket and yelled, "Blake! You pervert!"

He snickered as he turned around.

"How much did you see?" I asked as I hastily pulled on my PJs.

"Enough!" he replied, his tone indicating that he was finding it funny.

"You pervert! You are so gross!"

"What? It's not my fault your window happened to be open when I was looking outside mine. Besides what's the use of a curtain if you don't use it and I know you have one."

I hesitated as the real reason why I always kept my window open dawned on me. When my boyfriend, Asher still lived next door, we always had long conversations by the window so I guess even after he left, I just got used to leaving my window open.

"Rylie, really? You zoned out on me!" Blake yelled bringing me out of my reverie.

"Whatever! You're a such a perv!"

"Whatever you say, weirdo. Night!"

"Fuck you Blake! Fuck you!" I replied, giving him the finger as I closed the drapes...

Chapter 3 Prank War

Rylie's POV

"I can not believe this!" I yelled closing the door loudly behind me as I walked out of the classroom.

"Rylie, listen to me. You have to be reasonable. Don't do anything rash that you'll regret later," Olivia was saying but I barely heard her.

"Oh he is so going to pay," I was saying while pounding my fist in my hand.

You might've guessed who this is about but if you haven't, I'll give a clue... Blake!

Anyways, here's what happened...

Olivia and I arrived at school and went to our first class, Science. Unfortunately I had to share it with Blake. I had pretty much resigned to avoiding him until he thought it alright to pop a balloon filled with water in my face as part of his "Science" project.

It all happened so fast and the next thing I knew, I was wet and to make matters even worse, it wasn't even part of his Science project. In fact, nothing about his project involved a water balloon.

And now I'm wet and instead of the Science teacher to punish him or something, she plainly told him to come meet her after school and I could tell it wasn't to punish him. No! It's already a rumor that Blake's sleeping with her.

But if he thinks he's gonna get away with what he did simply because he and the teacher are fuck buddies, he's got another thing coming... He is so gonna regret this!!

"Rylie! Rylie!"

"What is it, Livvie?" I answered, staring at her.

"I hope you heard me. Don't do anything rash!"

"Fine," I answered with a sigh.

"You mean that!?"

"No," I replied giggling devilishly.

Blake Weston is in for a treat!

Blake's POV

I couldn't stop a smirk from playing on my lips as my eyes met Rylie's on my way out of the classroom. Having already spent a few weeks in Meadow Brook High, we've become quite the pair of enemies which explains why I really enjoyed what I did to her in Science class.

Don't ask me why I did it because I don't really know why. I just really enjoy getting her ticked off. It's really fun.

Oh well! Time to start getting ready for Economics.

I headed towards my locker, tapped the correct pass code and opened it only to receive a surprise as a huge pan filled with a gross mixture I didn't even know hit me smack in the face.

It really stunk! And some of it got into my mouth and hair. Yuck!

Everyone started laughing as I tried to find my way to the bathroom. On my way, I caught sight of Rylie and instantly knew it was her.

"Two can play that game, Rylie," I thought, my mind already swirling with thoughts on how to pay her back in kind.

This should be fun...just as soon as I get this glob off me.

Yuck!

💋Rylie's POV💋

"Rylie, did you really have to do this?" Olivia whined as we watched Blake make his way to the bathroom.

"Of course she did. He deserved it after what he did to her," Mason retorted, obviously enjoying himself.

"Thanks Mace. At least you're a true friend," I said staring pointedly at Olivia.

She rolled her eyes and said "You do know that he's gonna retaliate, right?"

"Let him. I'm ready for him."

"Argh! I have a bad feeling about this."

•••

"Um Mr Connor, you asked me to return this..." I paused as I came face to face with an empty room.

"That's strange. Why would he ask me to come here unless..." I paused as it suddenly occurred to me what was going on.

Sighing, I turned around and headed towards the door only to find it locked. I tried opening it but it didn't budge and breaking it wasn't even an option.

"Blake!" I yelled internally as I turned around to meet the biggest shock of my life. "Spider!" I yelled out loud as a giant tarantula began heading towards me.

"Help! Somebody help!" I yelled banging on the door, my heart beating wildly as I turned back to see two spiders now.

I screamed as I scrambled away from the door screaming again when they began heading towards me.

I have an extreme fear of spiders and I hate tarantulas the most!

"Somebody...anybody please help!" I yelled hitting the door repeatedly running around and away from the spiders.

I was so absorbed in getting away from them when I heard loud laughter coming from a corner of the room. Dodging the spiders, I walked over to the direction of the sound and found a recorder placed on a box.

"W-What? What's a recorder doing here?" I asked, trying to catch my breath.

"It's a walkie-talkie and it's there so we could hear your screams," I heard an all so familiar voice reply.

"Blake! What the fuck is going on?" I yelled as more laughter resounded.

"Oh nothing much. Just gave you the scare of your life and I caught it on video. Ooh! I can already see the likes."

"Blake!"

"Bye Rylie. Also the keys are beside you."

I looked around and sighted the keys.

Grumbling on how I was so going to kill him, I made my way over to door where I saw the spiders crackling like they were electric.

"Great! Robo-spiders! How nice!" I muttered, making sure to squash them as I unlocked the door and walked out only to watch right into...

"Mr Connor!" I yelled exasperatedly.

"Rylie, what were you doing in my office?" He gasped. "And you made such a mess."

"Mr. Connor, it's not like that..."

"I don't want to hear. Detention!... For a week!"

"But..."

"No buts! Come with me!"

I sighed in resignation as I trailed behind him with only one thought in my mind.

"Blake Weston, get ready to pay!"
