Esmeralda came back from work feeling tired and weak, she parked her car and made her way to her apartment holding a bag of groceries, she had stopped at the grocery store to get some supplies as she was running out of them, Richard has been eating a lot lately and she just hope he finds a job soon, so he can start contributing to rent and other necessities.

She walked into her apartment and met a shocking site, her boyfriend, Richard was fucking her best friend, Trixie on her couch, "the hell " she yelled dropping the bag of groceries at the door, they both turned and looked at her, they didn't seem to mind as they continue what they were doing, Esmeralda was in shock, " is this seriously happening" she thought, she went into her room, and came out with a pistol in her hand pointing it at them, they both turned to her with scared expression, disengaging.

"Babe, what are you doing, put the gun down" Richard said using his hand as signal for her to put the pistol down.

"Don't you dare call me babe, I trusted you, we have been dating for 5 years and this is how you treat me" Esmeralda yelled at the top of her voice.

" Why are you acting rash, you've always knew Richard only loves me, if you didn't then you must be the biggest fool ever" Trixie said with a disgusting look

Esmeralda couldn't believe her ears, her best friend would say this too her? " Get the fuck out of my apartment" she said lowly. They remain unmoved, Esmeralda fired the pistol in the ceiling causing both of them to cover their ears in fear "I said get the fuck out of here" she yelled again.

They both hurriedly put on their clothes and left her apartment, Esmeralda fell to the ground, sobbing deeply, why, why does this have to happen to her. Didn't she do enough for them. She housed, cloth and fed Richard cause he couldn't find a job and this is what she gets in return and Trixie, she helped Trixie financially all the time cause she was from a poor family, she did everything in her power to make sure they're happy and comfortable and this how they treat her. "Ahhhhhhhhhh" she yelled, sobbing bitterly.

Esmeralda woke up the next morning on the ground, she had cried herself to sleep, she woke up to a throbbing headache, she sluggishly stood up from the ground and lazily walk to her bedroom, slumping on the bed, the memories of last night hit her and she couldn't stop the tear that ran down her face, she turned to the alarm clock, it was 7:30am, she quickly stood up running into the bathroom, she's already late for work, she had a patient who would come to see her by 8 and she hasn't even prepared yet, she quickly took her bath and dressed casually and when to the kitchen to make herself breakfast, when she was done, she made to eat but couldn't, her appetite was gone, she dropped the breakfast and went outside, locking her door, she entered her car and drove to work.

Kian was having one of his sex sessions with his secretary on his over table when his personal assistant came inside, poor Simon had to cover his eyes and turned around after facing the site. "Sir you have a meeting with the CEO of Johan's construction companies" Simon said with his back facing them. Kian stopped what he was doing, letting his secretary go he arranged his pants while she fixed her skirt and blouse, she hurriedly left the office and Kian sat on his chair, Simon turned to face him. "Get the files ready, we would go now" Kian deep voice sounded. "Yes sir, and uhm..." Simon trailed off. " What is it?" Kian asked. "Your parents requested you have dinner with them today" Simon answered bowing slightly. "Hmm okay" Kian nodded.

Simon walked hurriedly behind Kian as the man with long legs strides forward, they walked into a conference room with two men, one is sitting and the other is standing beside him. Kian sat opposite the other man. " Mr. Anthony is late, isn't this meeting important to him?" Jacob Johan's voice sounded immediately Kian sat down."I was busy" Kian answered. " That's alright, let's get down to business, are you willing to be a shareholder to the reconstruction of Johan's hospital?, If yes, here is a contract for you to sign" Jacob said collecting a file form his assistant and passing it Kian, Kian took the file, reading through it."this isn't right, I want 50percent" Kian said dropping the file on the table. "You're not the only shareholder, Mr. Anthony, there are five shareholders and of course I wil have the biggest share, you have to accept this 15percent" Jacob said calmly. "I don't want it then, I don't want to be a shareholder to something I can't have full control over, have a nice day Mr. Jacob" Kian said getting up.

Jacob was already feeling infuriated, what does this man think of himself, Kian left the conference room with Simon trailing behind him."sir Don't you it think it was not a wise decision throwing away that contract? If the hospital is reconstructed, then it mean more Money" Simon reasoned. "Question my actions again and you're fired, build your own company if you want to make decisions" Kian retorted shutting Simon up.

Esmeralda got to work late, the drive from her apartment to the hospital she worked in was a long one, she hurriedly went to the changing room and changed into her uniform of blue trousers and shirt with a long white lab coat. Walking to her office she met the injured lady she was supposed to meet at 8 waiting for her Infront of her office. "I'm so sorry am late, i kept you waiting forgive me" she said immediately she got to the lady. " It's no problem, I haven't be waiting for long" the lady smiled. Esmeralda gesture for her to walk into the office. "How's your hand?, Are you still feeling any pains" she asked immediately she sat on her chair across a table. "Not as much as before, thank you" the lady replied. Esmeralda smiled and wrote some prescriptions on a paper and gave it to the lady." Since you're getting better take this to the pharmacy and tell them to give you this specific medicine, no need to use the old ones anymore" she said and the lady nodded leaving her office.

Immediately the lady left Esmeralda sighed and relaxed her back on the chair." I wished I had an accident and broke my arm than having this feeling in my heart" she muttered.

"You said she would be working overtime, she wouldn't have caught us if you had done your job by Keeping track of her" Trixie yelled at Richard, pacing from one end of her room to the other. " Calm down, I will talk to her after she has calmed down" Richard said sitting on the small bed in the room. "Do you think she would listen, After what she saw?" Trixie yelled again. "You were the one who added fuel to the fire by saying I only love you and she's a fool" Richard retorted. "But it's the truth, I was getting infuriated by her actions, the only reason am talking to her is because she's my money machine, do you think I care about her" Trixie said. " I know we are gaining alot from her that's why I would go and talk to her when she calms down, don't worry about it" Richard coerced, signalling for her to sit on his lap. Trixie smiled softly and sat on his lap and he captured her lips.

It was getting towards evening and Esmeralda's shift was coming to an end, She had always preferred the morning shift cause she wanted to spend her afternoon with Richard, but today she decided to stay for both the morning and afternoon shift cause she didn't want to go back home. She was still working as a trainee in the hospital as she had recently graduated from medical school.

She packed her things and made to leave her office. "Esmeralda!!!" Cassie yelled and ran towards her hugging her tightly. "You're balck already, why didn't you call me to pick you up from the airport" Esmeralda smiled. " Didn't want stress you, are you leaving now, can you wait a bit for me to inform the head doctor about my return, then we would go together" Cassie said with smiles on her face. "Sure, why not" Esmeralda said. Cassie Payne, a 22year old trainee, the doctor she was working under went to Spain for a surgery and she followed as his apprentice, she loves being around Esmeralda as she was kind and sweet.

Esmeralda waited for a while, then Cassie finally met her and they went to Esmeralda's car and got in, Esmeralda drove out the hospital's parking lot. "Where are we going?" Esmeralda asked. she don't want to go home, she would always be reminded of what happened there, she needs to change apartment, she thought. "I don't know, I don't wanna do something boring though, I miss the UK so much" Cassie said. They were laughing and chatting, Esmeralda laughed so hard and bent her head, before she raise it, her car collide with another, It didn't deal any damages to her or Cassie but the car was scratched. She was confused, she got down from the car and the driver of the other car came down too. "Can't you see?, why drive recklessly" Esmeralda yelled, she was at fault but she wouldn't admit it cause she don't have money to pay for the damages done to the other car, the car looked so expensive.

"Ma'am you were the one who crashed into me" Simon said with annoyance, is she trying to get away from paying. "I'm not, I was looking at the road, your car was speeding" she yelled again. Cassie came down from the car. "Esmeralda" she said, "don't worry i will handle it" she said to Cassie. "You have to pay for the damages done to my car" Esmeralda turned to Simon. "What!?, I won't you were at fault, and my car is damaged too" Simon yelled. They were arguing and people started gathering around them, Esmeralda wasn't backing down, she won't admit she was at fault, no way.

Kian came down from the car. " Sir, she..." Simon tried to explain but Kian signalled for him to stay quiet, he turned to Esmeralda who was looking at him intensely, "she seemed average, with her long black hair, probably can't pay for the car's damage and so decided to argue" he thought.

" How much is your car damages, I will pay" Kian said. Esmeralda was shocked, he would actually pay? She thought. " No need for the Money, we should just call it equal since your car was also damaged" she said with an awkward smile. "But I want to pay, my driver was at fault" Kian demanded. " No need, just leave it" Esmeralda rejected again. Kian didn't say anything, he went into the driver sit and drove his car ramming it hardly into Esmeralda car, fortunately, Esmeralda and Cassie moved away from the car before Kian smashed it.

"What the fuck" Esmeralda yelled, Cassie stood there in shock, Kian got down from the car and looked at Esmeralda. "When you're at fault next time, accept it" he said walking away with Simon trailing behind them. Simon had called for another car to be brought to them.

Esmeralda was shocked, her precious car, it was badly damaged and would cause a lot to fix. "What are we going to do?" Cassie looked at Esmeralda who woke up from her shock, she looked around and couldn't find Kian, the on lookers disperse one by one, no one was gonna say anything about what just happened? She thought. "Esmeralda, you should have just agreed you're at fault, you have no idea who you offended" Cassie queries. "What are you talking about, that bastered just damaged my car" Esmeralda was infuriate. "You're lucky he only damaged the car and not you, let's get out of here, we would call the tow truck to pick it up" Cassie said dragging Esmeralda away.

Cassie and Esmeralda sat in a restaurant, near where the accident took place, they were waiting for the tow truck. "I can't believe my baby is damaged, what would I do now, the transport fare from my apartment to the hospital is no joke" Esmeralda cried. "Don't worry you can stay at my place for the main time till you can repair your car or change apartments" Cassie suggested. " Who was that baster anyway, who does he think he is, when I see him next I would squash his head and wipe that arrogant look off his face" Esmeralda yelled angrily. "Please don't say nonsense cause you'll swallow your words immediately I tell you who he is, don't you watch the news or aren't you on social media?" Cassie asked. "I'm hardly on my phone these days and I don't care who he is, what is he some kind of rich billionaire that's untouchable or has the power to ruin my life?" Esmeralda said sarcastically. " Yes" Cassie replied. "Exactly, his not... Wait what?" Esmeralda asked with shock.

" Yes he is everything you just said, haven't you heard of Kian Anthony, his crazily handsome and rich, all the girls in the entire UK are dying for him, his a playboy though, most people say he never sticks to one girl" Cassie explained, Esmeralda eyes and mouth were open the entire time, what the hell did she just do, annoy a billionaire? "I'm doomed, what if he finds out my name, where I live, my parents?" She said all in one breath. "Calm down missy, he has other things to do than worry about it" Cassie calmed her down and she breathed. The tow truck came and they left that area going to Cassie's place.

Kian reached his parents house for the dinner he was supposed to have with them. The butler welcomed him as soon as he stepped out of his car and he was led to the dinning room where he met his mother and father sitting already. "You have to do anything in your power to convince your son to get married, or else I will divorce you" Vivian, kian's mother threatened Lucas, kian's father. "You know I can't talk to that boy, his too stubborn" Lucas said. "You're his father, do something" Vivian retorted. "you're his mother, do something" Lucas said. Vivian was annoyed, she raised the kitchen knife she was holding and pointed it at Lucas who raised his hands up in defense.

" If you kill him you'll become a widow" kian voice sounded as soon as he entered the dining room."good evening mom and dad" he said sitting beside his father. "Why sit beside that man, come here and sit with me" Vivian said. " If he does, you'll kill him, you're hold a kitchen knife remember?" Lucas said. " Are you still talking" Vivian yelled pointing the knife at lucas. "And you, come sit beside me" she said turning to Kian. " Drop the knife first" Kian said. " Samantha, take this knife from my mother" Kian yelled. Samantha, their house maid came quickly and took the knife from Vivian and kian stood up and sat beside her.

The food was served and they ate quietly. "Why did you come late, you were 30mins late" Vivian said breaking the silence. "Encountered an annoying issue, nothing to worry about" kian replied. "I'm guessing you already know why we called you here" Lucas said. "If it's about marriage, you both already know my answer" Kian replied.

"Why are you acting like this, we want to see our grand kids before our death, this play boy attitude of yours is becoming too much, you're ruining your reputation with that, my friend's children are either married or engaged, I don't even talk when their talking" Vivian complained, she wanted her son to get married as soon as possible.

"William's daughter is a nice girl, she is very intelligent, she graduated from medical school too, you should have a blind date with her" Lucas said. "I don't know who your father is talking about but I believe she would be perfect for you" Vivian chipped in. "Not interested, is she cute though" Kian smirked. "Stop that, she's not for you to have sex with and dump" Vivian queried. "Am not ready for marriage, when I am, I will tell you" Kian said getting up and leaving for his room. "Talk to him" Vivian turned to Lucas. "I tried, just set up a blind date for him and hope he goes" Lucas said and Vivian growled.

"Wow, your apartment is amazing" Esmeralda said sitting on the big fluffy couch in Cassie's living room. "Don't flatter me" Cassie smiled. "We would be sharing the same room cause there's only one room here" Cassie told Esmeralda. "Its no problem I will move out as soon as I find an apartment. Esmeralda replied. "Ohhh, won't you inform Richard that you won't be coming back home today?" Cassie asked. "No need for that" Esmeralda smiled bitterly. "Why what happened" Cassie said sitting beside Esmeralda.

Esmeralda told Cassie everything that happened, Cassie felt sorry for her and hugged her for a while as Esmeralda started crying while narrating it to her. She was happy though cause she didn't trust Richard one bit as he wasn't even making efforts in looking for a job just feeding off Esmeralda. And Trixie is just a bitch, she expected more from her.

Esmeralda finished crying, then cleaned her tears. "Sorry, I cried too much" she apologized. "Yeah you better be sorry, my favourite shirt is soaked with your tears" Cassie whined and Esmeralda laughed. "That's not comforting you know" Esmeralda complained. " No amount of comfort can heal that broken heart girl" Cassie said getting up and Esmeralda laughed again. " Let's cook something am famished". "After all the crying? surprised you even have an appetite, you big foodie" Cassie taunted. And they both laughed.

Esmeralda woke up early, she was on the morning shift, Cassie was sleeping like a log of wood cause she was taking a leave after her trip to Spain. Esmeralda chuckled at her behaviour and went to take her bath, she forgot to get clothes and so she decided to wear Cassie's baggy jeans and oversized sweater which fitted her perfectly. She made breakfast and kept Cassie own for her and left the house.

She took the bus to the hospital, Cassie's apartment wasn't far from the hospital. She just entered the hospital and sited a woman waiting to be attended too. "Whose that" she asked a nurse. "She has a fever and the doctors are busy, we offered to treat her but she said she wanted a doctor" the nurse replied. Esmeralda made and OH sound and went straight to the woman. "Hey ma'am, what's wrong with you?" She asked in the most polite voice she could make. "Are you a doctor?" Vivian asked. "Yes I am, a trainee though" Esmeralda said awkwardly. "That would do, let's go to your office" Vivian said picking up he bag and they went to Esmeralda's office.

"Your office quite big for a trainee" Vivian commented. "Not really, I share with someone, another trainee, she on leave though" Esmeralda smiled. "You're nice and beautiful, I like you" Vivian smiled. And Esmeralda chuckled awkwardly. "Why are you in the hospital?" Esmeralda inquiried. "My back has been hurting alot lately, I mean am not that old" Vivian complained. "Maybe because of stress, do you work alot?" She asked. "I don't know" Vivian answered. "Well I will just prescribe some pain relievers, if it persists go for a scan" Esmeralda adviced. "Sure, do you have a boyfriend?" Vivian asked. Esmeralda looked up in shock "we..well no, not at the moment" she stuttered. "Hmmm good, my son is quite handsome, you should go on a date with him" Vivian suggested. "I'm not interested ma'am, I just came out of a bad relationship, not ready for another" Esmeralda said handing over the prescription to the woman. "When you change your mind call me" Vivian said writing her number on a piece of paper. "Okay" Esmeralda could only voice out, she didn't want to refuse the woman. "You're really pretty" Vivian complimented again and Esmeralda smiled awkwardly escorting her out of the office.

When Vivian finally left, Esmeralda went back to her sit and looked at the paper with Vivian's number on it. What a crazy mother, her son must have given her a lot of headache for her to pick any random girl for him she muttered.

Someone immediately walked into Esmeralda's office. "Hey babe, how are you doing" Richard smiled sitting on the chair opposite Esmeralda.

"What are you doing here Richard, how the fuck did you get into my office" Esmeralda yelled angrily at him. "Calm down babe, you know the nurses here know about us, I usually visit you, remember?" Richard said calmly. "Yeah, visit me to ask for money, I can't believe I didn't notice all your bad behaviours, guess I was blinded by love" Esmeralda said bitterly. "That's not true babe, I really love you, what happened with Trixie was a one time thing, I was just lonely cause you were working always" Richard defended, he was obviously lying as he only started dating Esmeralda because of money and when he met Trixie who also had the same goal of spending Esmeralda's money, they got along quite well and they started having sex a year after. "Don't fucking call me babe, get your ass out of my chair and out of my office, now I know why my parents never liked you" she yelled at him. Richard wanted to protest but decided to give her some space then he left the office.

"I met a very beautiful doctor today, I believe she would be good for Kian" Vivian said to her husband immediately she went home. "Doctor?, What hospital does she work in?" Lucas asked his wife, curiosity shown in his eyes. "I think Johan's hospital, she's a trainee though, I didn't even ask for her name, oh my God, I forgot" Vivian exclaimed. "I think I have an idea of who you're talking about, it's William's daughter, she the doctor there that I know is beautiful" Lucas said. "How can you be so sure?" Vivian asked. "Well there's only one way to find out. Let's call William" Lucas said bringing out his phone and calling William.

William picked after two rings and Lucas asked him about his daughter, William said his daughter is indeed working in Johan's hospital as a trainee. And they planned to set up a blind date between the two children. Vivian was still feeling uncertain, she wasn't sure if they were talking about the Same girl she met at the hospital.
