He fell on me, locking

his gaze on mine. I felt my heart stop for a moment, lost in his twinkling,

stardust-filled eyes. He leaned closer, he was going to kiss me. I got that. Something

has to quench the fury of heat and electricity that sparked at our breath,

catching up and blending in smoothly. I closed my eyes and our lips met while

the thought of the door and the key that got us in this position flew out of

our heads. At that moment, there was only me and him. He pressed his body

against mine in an undeniable force, as if longing to become one. My hands

found their way to the back of his neck, pulling him closer, wanting to feel

every inch of him against me while his hands caressed my waist. The intensity

of our bodies pressed against each other sent shivers down my spine, igniting a

fire within me that could only be quenched by his touch. Our lips moved in

perfect synchronization, each kisses more passionate and fiery than the last. I

could taste the raw emotions that consumed us, the hunger and the need that

brought us together. Our tongues danced in a desperate, sensual tangle,

exploring every crevice and corner of each other's mouths as if trying to memorize

every sensation. As our kiss deepened, the world around us became a blur of

color and sound. The soft brush of his lips against mine sends waves of

pleasure throughout my body, aching to be consumed by this undeniable

connection. I lost myself in the taste and feel of him, reveling in the way his

lips meld with mine with an intoxicating blend of tenderness and intensity. He

stopped.

"Huuuhhh!" I sighed,

catching my breath.

"If I request to dive

further, will you let me?" Sidd asked in a whisper with his body up against

mine. My heart skipped a beat the second time upon hearing that. How can I

refuse such a request from the man I ever loved? Though I was still a virgin,

there's always a first time to everything, right?

"You can have me, Sidd.

I'm all yours," I accepted without a second thought. Excitement and passion

were building in both our vessels. Removing my clothes, Sidd looked deep into

my natural brown eyes. His breath fanned over my exposed core. I was sensitive

to his touch. "What am I even doing? Sidd might be the worst in bed," I thought

to myself when having my core licked and nipped down gently with his teeth. As

soon as his tongue entered my core, the devil sitting on my shoulder whispered

in my mind, "Or maybe this might be just the kind of sex you need." The whisper

ended with a chuckle. Outward came my moan.

"You like it?" he asked,

the surrounding of his lips already wet from his adventure with my core.

"Don't stop, please." I

suddenly became gentle. But not too much as well, because my hand aggressively

pushed his head back into my core. I let out the juices of my pleasure on his

face, and he rose from his position. I watched him prop on his knees and take

off every piece of clothing from his body. We were about to come together as one. I

still couldn't believe Sidd was making love to me, it was a dream come true for

me. I have never been so naughty as I am now.

"Oh, God, Sidd," I

couldn't help, but call his name.

"That's right, Nadia. I

am your God now. Say my name," he expressed his pleasure with my warmth

wrapping around him as well.

"Aaaaa!" I screamed out

the moment he dove deeper into my core, tugging at the bedclothes in pain. He

pulled out, staring into my eyes.

"You are still tight down

there, Nadia. Why?" he asked, concern tinged in his voice.

"I'm still a virgin,

Sidd, be careful," I cried out.

"A virgin?" he repeated

like I just said the most rare thing in the world. "How?"

"Don't stop, Sidd, I need

you," I let out, feeling heat spark through my body non-stop, not minding the agitating

pain between my thighs.

"Are you sure?" he asked

and I nodded. He penetrated me again and my fingers dug into his back amid

pleasure and pain. After a few minutes of penetrating and pulling out of my

core, I felt my innocent blood fly out between my thighs. My virginity was

gone.

***

"Uggggg!" I gasped,

opening my eyes. I was fully drenched in my sweat. I sat up quickly, looking

around the room. Sidd wasn't with me anymore, it was just a wet dream.

A replay of an

unfortunate one-night stand with a movie star. I touched the space on the

bed beside me and smiled. I closed my eyes, ready to dive into the morning after

the night.

"Mommy! Mommy! " the

cheerful voice of Zeehan, my baby got me out of my reverie. He ran to me with

open arms.

"Hey, my baby," I smiled,

carrying him on my lap. My baby, the product of a nightstand. "How was your

night, my angel?" I asked, ruffling his hair.

"I slept tight, Mommy,"

he answered.

"That's awesome. So, what

do you wish to eat for breakfast?"

"I am late for school,

Mommy," Zeehan said. My eyes popped out, directed to the wall clock.

"Shit!" I exclaimed. "No,

not for you baby," I said, jerking up and carrying Zeehan in my arms. I was

supposed to drop Zeehan in school by 7:30 AM and reach work by 8 AM and now

it's 8:15 AM because of a stupid wet

dream. I hurried to the bathroom to bathe Zeehan. We were out in possibly a

minute. No time wasting. I rushed to clean and dress up Zeehan for school.

Cool, my baby looks just like his father. Chic and classy. I ran out to the

kitchen to prepare breakfast. I would rather not reach work than not fix

breakfast for my baby. It was 8:45 AM already. Zeehan is ready, breakfast is

served alongside his lunchbox. Now it was time to think about me. I entered the

bathroom and took a quick shower. Return to the bedroom and dress up for

work. My boss is certainly going to yell at me today again. What kind of a

slide is this? It has been three years already, and Sidd is still stuck in my

head, disturbing my sleep with wet dreams and turning me into a big-time latecomer.

Not just once, but over the past two months. I tied my natural hair in a bun,

and headed out, taking my handbag along. I reached the living room, and Zeehan

was waiting for me.

"Come on, baby, let's go,"

I said to him. He stood up with his strapped backpack. I picked his lunchbox

which was inside a small bag and held his hand out. Thank God his school wasn't

far from home, just a few distance away.

"Good morning, Miss Nadia,"

Zeehan's female teacher greeted us warmly as we reached the school gate,

collecting Zeehan's lunchbox from me.

"Good morning, ma'am.

Sorry, we are late again," I apologized.

"Oh, it's nothing, it's

fine, at least, he was able to make it. I know how hard it can be for

mothers. I completely understand," the teacher stated.

"Yeah, thank you," I

smiled. "Okay, little angel, I'm off to work now. Mommy will see you soon,

okay? Be a good boy," I said to Zeehan and kissed him on the forehead.

"Say goodbye to Mommy,"

the teacher urged, holding Zeehan's hand.

"Bye, Mommy," Zeehan

waved at me.

"Bye, sweetheart," I

smiled and turned to leave. I trekked down to the main road before hailing a bus.

Sometimes, if not all the time, people wonder why Zeehan was different. He

looks just like his father. If he grew up, I'm certain people will mistake him

for Sidd; rosy skin tone, light brown eyes, rosy pink lips, soft, wavy, black

short hair. I carried him for nine months, yet he took nothing from me, not

even my face sculpture at least. He got his father's round face too. Silly. I

rested my head against the seat, closing my eyes and forgetting that I was in

transit. My mind flashed back again to the morning after the night.

***

In the morning, I opened

my eyes only to see Sidd propped on one elbow, smiling at me. I smiled shyly

and sat up, pulling the bedclothes up to my chest.

"Good morning," I greeted

and he sat up.

"Good morning, damsel,

how was your night?" he asked. I smiled again, remembering how pleasant my

night was.

"It was peaceful," I

replied.

"Did I satisfy you?" he

asked, cocking his head. The question pit-a-patted my heart.

"You were everything,

Sidd," I spoke softly, looking down. He lifted my eyes back to him, smiled, and

kissed me. It was quick. He stopped. I sighed.

"So, about your virginity,

how come you were still a virgin?" he queried. I squinted my eyes in confusion.

Was being a virgin abnormal? He sounds as if he has never met one, perhaps he

hasn't.

"Because I have always

been in love with you...since I was fourteen. I couldn't let any other man touch

me, not while you were in my heart," I let out.

"But we never met before

now."

"I will save the story

for the future, but I love you...with all my heart," I expressed.

"Huuhh!" he sighed. "I

got to go now," he said, taking up his shirt. The thought of him leaving left a

pang in my heart. Who knows when I will see him physically again?

"Won't you at least

freshen up?" I started, trying to spare more time.

"I will do that in my

hotel, okay?" he declared and stepped down from the bed. I watched as he put on

his trousers and got set to leave. I pulled the bedsheet closer to myself,

hugging it in comfort.

"Will I ever see you in

person again?" I asked misty-eyed.

"I would have stayed,

perchance, two more days, at least to explore the country with you, but I got

to prepare for a shoot in three days. I need to be in India at the moment," he

explained, moving to the side of the bed where I was. He sat beside me. "I will

come see you after my shoot. I promise," he assured. His words lifted the

weight of pain from my heart. I snuggled closer to him and he pulled me into

his arms. A tear dropped from my eye.

"Don't cry, okay? I will

chat you up," he declared and stood up. I nodded.

"Journey mercy, Sidd," I

wished. He grabbed my hair gently and plastered a last kiss on my lips. He

headed to the door. He stopped and looked at me.

"Don't post those videos

again, please," he reminded.

"Oh, the videos," I

commented, scratching my hair. He cocked his head and I smiled. "I promise. No

more posting the videos," I assured him. He nodded and turned to go again.

"The key," I reminded and

he looked at me. I threw the key and he caught it with a wink at me. I smiled.

He went to the door and opened it. He looked at me once again before leaving. I

pulled the bedsheet to my face and curled up on the bed, crying.

Chapter 2 The Promise

***

"Hey, madam!" I heard the husky voice of the bus conductor and I opened my eyes. "Aren't you dropping?" he queried. I looked around me, everyone had gone out except me.

"Oh, sorry," I apologized and got down from the vehicle. I trekked a few distances and I was faced with the small company where I work as an accountant. I hurried inside and Amanda, my best friend flitted to me, holding my hand and pulling me along.

"Why are you late again, Nadia?" Amanda queried in a low tone, careful not to be heard by others.

"What else makes me wake up late, Mandy? The usual of course," I responded, overwhelmed by the situation. For the past two months, I have turned into a perpetual latecomer just for a stupid wet dream.

"The same wet dream again?" Amanda asked, stopping to face me with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Exactly," I sighed with deflated shoulders.

"This is becoming serious, Nadia, come on, you need to do something about it, you can't just continue living like this," Amanda stated.

"What do you suggest I do? I can't prevent myself from dreaming," I declared and we began walking again, heading to my office.

"You know what I always say, Nadia. Get a man in your life. Get someone that can satisfy you physically, instead of getting the pleasure from a three-year-old one-night stand with that..."

"Huh?" I rasped, stopping to face her, and furrowing my eyebrows. She swallowed the word she was going to say. "Sidd is this, Sidd is that, right?" I started and started walking again. "I have told you, Mandy, stop saying ill words about Sidd. I don't like that," I defended and moved behind the desk to take my seat. She sighed with arms akimbo.

"Well, it's fine. You never listen anyway," Amanda declared disappointedly and went away. I sighed heavily, dropping my head.

"Nadia?" the husky tone of my boss shuddered me in my seat.

"Good morning sir," I greeted, standing up from my seat. He was an average-height middle-aged man, always on low cut. Dark in complexion, chubby cheeks, a beer-filled belly, and a flirty nature. He has his eyes on me but God knows I won't ever fall into the trap of a crook.

"Good morning. What's happening to you, Nadia? Why have you suddenly turned into a latecomer?" my boss queried calmly. I wasn't expecting his voice to be that calm today. He always gets irate whenever I come late to work, simply because I turned down his offer. He wants me to date him, and become his chick. Yuck! I'm more than that! I can't stoop low to the level of an older man. My boss is 35 years old yet he feels he is a teen, crushing on his age mate.

"I'm sorry, sir, it won't happen again," I apologized, fidgeting on my spot.

"You can't promise that and you know it. Anyway, get done with the files on your desk," he said and turned to go. I puffed. He looked at me and I quickly sat down, randomly picking the papers on my desk.

The hectic day at work finally came to an end. I began packing my stuff to go home. Amanda came to me.

"Hey, Nadia, ready to go?" she asked. I looked at her with dull worn-out eyes.

"What do you think?" I replied tiredly, jerking up my bag and moving out from behind the desk.

"I can see you are fatigued. Can we drop by at Fine Wine bar to grab a drink?" she asked as we headed to the door.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow," I waved my hand at one of the staff. "My son is waiting for me, Mandy, I'm going home straight," I declared and we reached outside, trekking along the curb to hail a bus.

"When will you step out of this iced wall you freeze yourself in? Come on, since you gave birth to that albino baby of yours, nothing else seems to matter to you, not even your life," Amanda scolded. I stopped and squinted my eyes, glaring at her.

"Look here, Mandy, this is not the first time I'm saying this but it should be the last time if you don't want us to have problems. Whenever you are talking to me, don't insult either my son or his father. Do I make myself clear? Moreover, my boy is not an albino, he is a real white boy," I warned.

"Okay, ma'am, I have heard you. But you also know your words don't even penetrate the walls of my heart, right? If you're done venting, let's continue walking," she commented like what I said made no sense. Well, she has always been that way, nothing anyone says seems to hurt her. It's annoying sometimes. Yet, she's still my friend, been friends since childhood.

"Ugh!" I grunted and we began walking.

"I will be coming to your place over the weekend, okay? If you like don't cook for me, I will splitter my stomach in your house," she stated and I laughed.

"You never change, Amanda. If you like don't come along with your apron to cook whatever you want to eat. Hunger will keep you company before you leave."

"Let the weekend come first. You and I will wear the same trousers," she joked and we laughed.

Just then, a guy came along. His long dreadlocks were left to scatter over his shoulders. His trousers were almost pulling down from his waist all in the name of swag.

"Hey, girls!" he waved at us, scanning me with his large, brown eyes. I clenched my jaw. Amanda looked at me and pinched my arm not to create a scene.

"Hi!" Amanda waved back at him, smiling.

"My name is Joshua. Can I speak with you for a moment?" he requested, pointing at me. Amanda shifted away.

"Any problem?" I queried coldly.

"Calm down, babe. When I saw you from afar, I noticed something very special about you. I love everything about you; your figure eight, your natural hair. Can I have your number? I would love to reach out to you, possibly, we could go out over the weekend," he stated, licking his lips while scanning my body with his eyes. I scowled at him with my hands on my hips.

"No!" I declined in a husky tone and walked passed him, dragging Amanda along.

"Hey, what did he say?" Amanda queried.

"Nothing!" I groaned. A bus came along and we boarded. I have never had it easy with men since I was born. They are always coming after me. Sometimes I wonder if I was cursed or blessed by an aura that attracts. And in all of these, only Sidd captured my heart.

The following day at work. I was on my desk, fixing up some folders piled up on my desk. Amanda ran along with her phone.

"Hey, Nadia!" she said breathlessly.

"What is it now, Mandy?" I asked, tiredly. She hasn't given me a breathing space since morning. Always running back and forth my desk.

"It's Zeehan!" she mentioned. My heart flew out of me as I jerked up.

"What happened to my son?" the question came as a whisper and tears welled up in my eyes.

"God!" Amanda puffed.

"Tell me what the hell happened!" I snapped.

"Will you calm down and stop acting like you gave birth to an egg!" she retorted. "Layla called, she's traveling urgently, she can't keep Zeehan till you come back. The teacher also called, can she bring him here?" she explained. My heart returned to my chest and I dropped on the chair in relief.

"Certainly, Mandy. Bring my baby for me," I let out. She shook her head and went away. I have never brought my baby to my work before. Layla always babysits him till I'm off from work. In short, no one knows I have a child except Amanda. Now the truth will be exposed and I bloody don't care as long as my baby is not out alone.

A few minutes later. The teacher arrived with Zeehan. I saw him through the glass window and I hurried out.

"Thank you so much, teacher. I'm honestly grateful," I appreciated sincerely.

"Never mind, my home is along this route so I thought it wise to bring him to you. Take care, Zeehan," she said and left.

"Oh, my baby!" I smiled, carrying him in my arms. "How was school today? Did anybody hurt you?" I asked, taking him to my desk. All eyes turned to me. Their murmurs pierced my ears from both sides. I paid deaf ears to them as I walked to my desk.

"School was okay today, Mommy," Zeehan replied in a soft baby voice that got me grinning.

"Mommy?" Mariah exclaimed, standing up. "Did the boy just call you mommy, Nadia? Are you his mother?" she queried. The onlookers' eyes pierced my skin for an answer as I was forced to a halt. I looked at my baby and looked at them. Never will I reject my baby for any reason.

"Yes!" I said it happily. "Meet my little angel, Zeehan," I introduced him. Nothing pleases me more than showcasing my baby to the world.

"Zeehan? What kind of a name is that?" Victoria asked. Again, they look up for an answer.

"Zeehan is a name, browse it and you will know the type of name it is," I declared and walked off. "Don't mind them, baby. So, tell me, did you finish your food?" I asked Zeehan.

"Yes, Mommy," he smiled. I took him to my desk and sat him on the chair.

"What should I get you, baby? We still have a couple of minutes to spend here," I said, arms akimbo.

"Nadia?" the husky voice of my boss startled me. I slowly faced him. "Who is the boy?"

"Uh, sir, he is my son, Zeehan," I replied. He furrowed his eyebrows for a moment.

"Are you serious?" he asked.

"I don't see a reason to lie, sir," I replied.

"Okay. See you in my office in five minutes," he declared and turned to leave. I faced Zeehan again and sighed.

"So, baby, stay here, let me get you something to eat," I said. He nodded. I turned to go get him some snacks.

Chapter 3 Quitting her job

I got Zeehan some snacks and waited for Amanda to return from the washroom. Finally, she came along. "Were you giving birth in there?" I snapped.

"Why? Are you going out?" she asked, moving to Zeehan. "Hey, my little boy. How are you?" she crouched in front of Zeehan.

"Hello, Aunt Amanda," Zeehan greeted.

"That's my boy. Will you give me your biscuit," she pouted her lips, bringing forward her palm. Zeehan placed one pack of his biscuits into her palm. "Aww! My baby gave me a biscuit. Thank you. You can eat them, okay?" she returned the biscuit and ruffled his hair.

"I'm going to see the boss, he called me," I spoke out.

"What happened again?" she asked, standing up.

"Who knows?" I shrugged. "Watch out for my baby," I said and turned to the staircase.

I reached my boss's office. He was standing close to the door. The moment I shut the door, he caged me between his arms, pinning me to the wall.

"What are you doing, sir?" I asked, trying to wriggle free.

"How come you never told me? How come I didn't know you have a fine baby boy?" he questioned.

"That's not work-related, sir. Not necessary to share my private life with my boss," I told him. He sniffed my neck and my breath hitched.

"Give me a chance, Nadia. I want to be the father of your baby. I know you are not married, don't try to deceive me. Let me have you, Nadia and I will make you happy for the rest of your life," he stated. I pushed him back.

"Stop this, sir. What has come over you?" I snapped. "How do you expect me to date you? Look, I'm not interested in being in any relationship with you other than work stuff. Stay away from me," I told him, angrily and turned to leave.

"Wait!" his order halted me. "If you leave or refuse me, consider yourself jobless," he threatened. I turned abruptly to him, staring wide-eyed at him.

"What did you just say?" I asked.

"You will be fired if you don't consider my offer," he repeated. A smile suddenly crept to my face.

"What are you waiting for, Mr Lucas? I would rather be jobless than end up in bed with a potbelly man like you. Nonsense. Eat your job," I snapped and dashed off. Losing my job will certainly harm my life, but I can't let any man downgrade me for any reason. I promised to love only Sidd and I don't see myself breaking that promise. I reached downstairs, packed my things, and left the work premises with my baby without waiting for Amanda who was calling out to me. Enough of all this, I need to rest my head. Waiting at the bus station, Amanda caught up with me.

"What is the matter with you, Nadia? Why did you leave like that?" Amanda queried, catching her breath.

"I'm not in the mood for rubbish right now. Can you imagine? Mr. Lucas has gone wild. I have had enough of him already," I set forth.

"The same demand?"

"What else? He is choking me. He even threatened to fire me and I called his bluff, walking out on him," I said.

"You what?" Amanda's eyes popped out. "What came over you? Do you know the implications of your actions? Where do you expect to see another job in this period?" she snapped. The bus arrived and we headed toward it. Just then, a woman bumped into Zeehan, almost falling him down.

"Hey, you watch where you are going!" I snapped angrily.

"I should be telling you that. How can you be holding a baby carelessly like that? Thank your stars he didn't step on my shoes," the woman said rudely.

"You should be the one thanking your stars that my baby didn't fall. If he did, your face won't have its normal look by now," I retorted.

"What did you just say? Who do you think your baby is? Is it because he is an albino? Hahaha!" the woman scorned and laughed. I was ignited. I slammed my five fingers on her cheeks, whipping her head aside. She tried to fight back before Amanda intervened.

"It's okay, you two," Amanda said, standing in our middle. I carried my baby, not minding the onlookers, and entered the bus. Amanda joined us and the bus moved off.

"That was outrageous, Nadia. How can you be fighting in front of your son?" Amanda began her usual scolding. "What came over you, Nadia?"

"Can you just stop, Mandy? What would you have me do? How dare she call my baby an albino? Does he look albino to her?" I defended.

"Still, you shouldn't have fought her."

"I didn't fight her, I gave her what she needed. Can you let this slide? My baby is trying to catch some z's," I said and Mandy shook her head. I snuggled Zeehan closer to myself, patting him gently.

The following day was the weekend. I woke up as early as possible to do some chores. After cleaning the house and doing the dishes, I began fixing breakfast before Zeehan would wake up.

"Mommy?" I suddenly heard Zeehan's sleepy voice after some moments. I swiveled to look at him. He was wiping his face with the back of his hand. I impulsively smiled, staring at him as he cutely wiped his face. His wake-up hair was ruffled, reminding me of Sidd the morning he opened his eyes before me. Every single day, I have a reason to smile. Despite the pain Sidd caused me, looking at my baby, all I wish to do is forgive him and let go of the past.

"Good morning, sweetheart. Did you sleep well?" I asked tenderly, crouching to his level and fixing his hair.

"Yes, Mommy," he replied.

"Great. Hold on, I will put off the gas flames and we will go freshen up, okay?" I told him and turned to the gas. I removed the food from the fire and turned off the flames. I carried Zeehan as we headed out of the kitchen.

I sat in the living room at noon, going through my online published books. Yeah, I was a writer too. I have been writing since God knows when. I have been into romance novels for ages and lately, I decided to venture into the art of scriptwriting. Down with eight movie scripts and about writing another. Though never published any of the scripts I just keep writing to master the art. And my novels are doing great on the platform too. I smiled satisfactorily at the number of reads and subscribers my new book has got so far.

"Ding!" the sound of the doorbell attracted my ears and my eyes darted to the door. Who could be visiting by now? Amanda didn't tell me she was coming though.

I stood up at the second ringing of the doorbell. I sighed as my hand grasped the door handle to open up.

"Dear, Lord! Where have you been, Nadia? I have been ringing the doorbell for ages," Amanda whined as she entered, walking into the living room. I shook my head and trailed her.

"I only heard the doorbell twice and you are already grouching? God, how did I meet you, Mandy?" I retorted. She dropped on the couch, dumping her bag beside her.

"I was wondering the same thing on my way here," she said and I hissed, rolling my eyes. I sat back on the couch to continue what I was doing.

"Hey, are you just going to ignore your visitor? Won't you offer me a drink at least?" she queried, sitting up.

"You are not a visitor, Mandy. Suit yourself if you wish," I declared. She scoffed and stood up.

"I got good news for you," she said, heading to the dining.

"What is it?" I asked, turning my face to her.

"Oh, now you are interested, Miss Rude," she scorned, taking out a jar of water and a glass cup. I rolled my eyes and faced my laptop again. She returned and sat beside me. "I was able to speak with Mr. Lucas and he said you can return to work on Monday," she said.

"Okay," I let out almost inaudible.

"But on one condition," Amanda said. I looked at her abruptly. What is that big belly man thinking? Giving me a condition to return to a job I'm not even pleased with. I scoffed and listened. "You have to accept his proposal and I assured him you will," she stated.

"Okay, on Monday, you will go into his office and tell him you are ready to marry him on my behalf. At least, you are my best friend, you can take my place," I retorted and focused on my system.

"But he doesn't want me, it's you he wants and you need someone to take care of you, Nadia. Why are you being stubborn?"

"And why aren't you telling that potbelly boss of yours the truth? What is wrong with you, Mandy? If I am being manipulated to marry Mr. Lucas, you will gladly be fooled behind me? What kind of a friend are you?" I set forth, pissed off.

"Come on, Nadia. I'm just trying to help you. Look at you, you need the touch of a man, you are sex-starved, can't you see that?"

"What is wrong with that, Mandy? Must I date all those scumbags because I need a man's touch? If you don't have anything meaningful to say, just zip up," I stated and stood up, taking my laptop.

"Where are you going? Besides, where is my little boy?" she asked.

"Now you are concerned with your environment, silly friend," I scorned and headed to the bedroom.

"Come back fast, we got a lot to talk about," I heard Mandy's faint voice behind me and I slammed the door. Zeehan was still sleeping. I went back to the living room after putting down my laptop.

"I'm listening. What should we talk about?" I asked.

"Tell me about Sidd. And don't even tell me it was a coincidence as you have been spilling for all these years," she stated, peering into my eyes. Her question churned my stomach and I gradually adjusted on the couch. "Come on, I want to hear it," she insisted. I swallowed hard and glanced at her.
