The Mouse Demon Who Loves You

I am a real little mouse. And I am not a rat who likes to be alone, let say just alone and have no friends. Actually I also like to spend my days with my friends. Until when at that time, I was unfortunately walking alone, I was walking along the shore of the lake, and at that time I don't know why, at that time when I was walking along the lake, I fell and slipped.

Until finally I went deep into the lake water which was deep, and also dark. So in the water in the lake, I can not move my legs and arms to swim, to the edge of the lake. Because at that time I didn't know if I would slip into the cold, deep, and the wide lake of Choengpyeong Lake.

Why is she crying like that? As I recall, didn't I still remember that it was as if I was together with the same group of the rat friends as me, and now I suddenly woke up and was surrounded by a large crowd of people on the shores of this lake.

"Andrea Olivia, you're all right, aren't you?. Thank God, And thank God you didn't lose your life when you fell into the lake. I'm just grateful, that you right now Olive, it's okay! I ran here. What if your parents find out that you didn't come home safe? I'm sorry Olive!" I was very surprised that the young woman kept on shaking my painless body. I just wonder, why does she keep crying over me? How very strange this woman, I thought!.

Immediately, I asked that girl.

"Hey, wait a minute. Why do you keep calling me Olivia? And why are you crying over me, huh? I asked the strange young woman who had just run to come to me, shortly after I woke up and was helped by the lake guard whose his location was not far from where I drowned.

"Hey, Olive. Have you lost your consciousness, huh?. Did you suddenly have the real amnesia? I'm your best friend. I'm Vanessa, your best friend Olive. Did you forget? Hey, you just fell into the lake And luckily your life was saved. Otherwise, what will happen to you Olive?. Ah, thank goodness nothing bad happened to you. Are you okay?" Said the young woman to me.

And immediately the young woman asked me to follow where her feet were walking that afternoon. And at that time I just silently followed her steps. Because I honestly don't know why I followed her either. I just remembered that I was just a mouse. But why did I turn into a human at that time? However, since this girl was the only person who seemed to really care about my situation, I just took her word for it. She then told me to sit in one of the residents' houses not far from the lake. And she asked me not to go anywhere. The last time since I followed her, she got me towels and a change of the clothes as well as some snacks for me to eat.

And I changed my clothes after that. So, after that the woman arrived, and then she told me to take a shower and change and put on the clothes that she had just bought. She asked me, how come I really forgot about her.

"Olive, do you really not remember who I am?" The young woman asked me again, she was trying to convince me of the answer that I would give her again.

At that time I just nodded, when she asked me, while I ate the food that she just gave me. I don't know why I felt so hungry at that time. So I then just ate all of the food until there was nothing left.

Then after that, I slowly answered her words, "Actually who are you, and why am I here? I don't remember anything!" I said flatly to that young woman again.

"Oh my God, oh my goodness, Olive. That means you've lost your consciousness, huh? , but I have a bad news too for today. Because my car also happened to be in a repair shop not far from here. So the owner of the workshop told me to wait until the next day so that my car can be used for us to go back to the town!" Said Vanessa, who was trying to calm me down at that afternoon, shortly after the incident where I had woken up from my sinking in the Lake, a few hours later.

And as usual, I obeyed the young woman's wish to stay at that person's house. I sometimes vaguely remember who the owner of the old lady was. But I just kept quiet because before I was not a human, but a mouse who was very simple in my life. Ah, I don't know, obviously I just want to rest tonight.

And on the next day, the young woman who claimed to be named Vanessa then invited me to go to a car repair shop not far from the house of the old woman who owned the house we were staying at. And Vanessa, she then asked me to get in her car immediately.

And we rushed back to the town. And when we were on our way to the city, Vanessa told us the reason why the two of us could be in a place that wasn't too crowded and also a place that was actually cool and beautiful, and away from the hectic, bustling city life.

Vanessa only told me the beginning of why she took me to a small village where there was a beautiful lake, the place where I drowned last night. She told me at first and actually we both wanted to let go of our tiredness, when we were about to do the final thesis of our study in our university world, which will soon be doing the graduation activity.

So this young woman also told me that last night we were on the shore of the pier on the lake, and suddenly and accidentally, my foot slipped and I entered the lake which was quite wide and deep. Arriving in the capital city, Vanessa immediately took me to my parents' house. And there, both my Mummy and Daddy were hysterical, because Vanessa had informed both of them beforehand about my situation.

"Olivia, are you okay?. Hmmm, thank God. Mummy isn't worried about you. It's good Olivia, you should go to the doctor immediately! How about we go to the doctor this afternoon? Do you want to?" Asked the old woman who wept bitterly.

And also then there was the old man too who later also cried for me.

"Yes Olivia. Your Mummy is right. And we'd better go to the doctor today. Your this Daddy is very worried about you, girl!" Said the old man to me, he was also weeping.

And then she immediately instructed the young woman named Vanessa, to go to the kitchen in our house so that she immediately took the iced water that was in the refrigerator not far from where I was sitting in the living room. And swiftly, Vanessa brought the ice water along with a cloth compress to compress my forehead.

"Auntie, this is water and also the compressor!" Vanessa said, as she gave the ice cubes and the compressor to the old woman, who she called auntie.

"Oh thanks, Vanessa. And then can you sit here with Olivia, okay?" Said the old woman to Vanessa, as she dipped the cloth in the ice water.

And immediately the old woman put the cold cloth on my forehead, and after that she told me to sit with Vanessa. Because she felt a little shock, Vanessa even whispered a few words to the old woman, and then the old woman was not in shock anymore. And she just nodded when Vanessa spoke to her. And after that she asked Vanessa to accompany me to rest in my room.

"You're all right, Olive?. And I hope you get well soon, okay. And even if you don't want to go to the doctor, it's okay, it's all right. Thank you that you are okay, and I'm happy for you. And then I go back to my house first, huh!. And I hope you get better soon, okay. And tomorrow morning I will come here, and you don't go anywhere yet, okay. That's it, Olivia!" Vanessa said just before she left my room.

And that Vanessa, she returned to her residence, after she accompanied me for a while in my room. And I did not feel I was asleep, when I was in the room of mine which I thought was very nice and luxurious. And yes, I then woke up when it was getting dark. And suddenly that old woman who she said that she was my mother, she tried to give me the porridge that she had cooked, while I was fast asleep.

So she made the porridge, even though I didn't want to and refused. And because I felt sorry for her, so I then ate the porridge. And immediately she stroked my hair and also my forehead. Hmmm, looks like she really loves me.

And when I looked around at my room, there was indeed a photo of the old man, the old woman and also a portrait of myself. Ah, yes, maybe I'm trapped in someone's body. And for some reason I don't remember that I was someone that she called Olivia. I tried to be natural, and when I tried to agree with everything that the old woman said, I was just speechless.

And after that I then rest again. And it doesn't feel like the day just goes by. And then tomorrow came. The morning sun shining into my room through the cracks in the windows that woke me up. I was shocked, I remembered my house which is around near the edge of the lake, in the village where Vanessa and I went yesterday morning.

"Hmmmm, I really miss my comfortable home, and also my friends there. I'm confused why I can become a human like this, God?. Is it my fault?" I asked myself.

And not long after, just after I woke up, suddenly from outside of the room, Vanessa came. Vanessa, she came to bring some fruit, and she told me to quickly take a shower and take me to our campus.

Vanessa even then said, "Come on Olivia, you go there and take a shower. Hmmm, you forgot, today we have a class. I don't know you can take our course or not. When Vanessa and I finished from the class that we were taking at that morning, Vanessa then invited me to immediately go to the campus canteen which was not far from our class. And because I was in a hurry, I didn't prepare well for the event at that morning, so I accidentally bumped into a very handsome young man that morning.

"Ouch, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. How is it?. Sorry again, okay. Because I bumped into you. And oh no, everything fell apart!" I said to the handsome man.

"Oh yeah. I'm also okay, really. I also want to apologize, because I don't focus my eyes on where my feet are going!" I said once again to the handsome man.

And there, on the road to our campus cafeteria, we immediately got to know each other.

"Oh yeah, yeah. Hmmm, that's it. I accidentally bumped into you too, didn't I. So I want to treat you, can I ?" Said the handsome man to me.

"What did you just say, huh?" I asked the handsome man.

And at that time the three of us then rushed to the canteen. And we immediately bought food. And the food was paid for by the handsome man named Aaron. I was really very happy at that time. It's really something beyond my expectation. My heart and mine were really pounding wildly. I don't know why and for what. "Hey Olive, why are you just standing there like now?. Let's go for a walk to the park instead of you like this!" Said Vanessa who invited me when I was silent looking at Aaron who left us at that afternoon.

And the two of us then went to a park near the Han river that afternoon. Vanessa then took me around the park, until we finally found a bench to sit on. And we told stories. Hmmm, actually I'm not the one who told the story. I just listen to all the babble of her that I think feels strange to my ears, from the mouth of my best friend Vanessa. That chatty young woman who despite that, she always cares about my situation now and then.

I just nodded, listening to Vanessa tell me all the things that she thought she wanted to tell me that day. And I'm just trying to be a good listener, listening to all of her complaints until she's relieved. And after that I also told about Aaron, the handsome young man who had invited us to have our lunch together in our campus cafeteria.

I told Vanessa that, when I looked into Aaron's eyes, I only felt an erratic heartbeat, so that when I spoke to Vanessa, the pounding was still felt.

And Vanessa then replied, "Hmmm, could it be that you're in love, Olive?. Ah, I thought so. Never mind you don't deceive me or you lie to me about your feelings that you currently feel for the man named Aaron earlier. It seems you like it, don't you?. And besides, you were my best friend when our parents were living together in the USA, and even now, our parents are living together in Korea. You don't have to lie to me, okay?.
