Author: : Adunni Grace
Genre: Romance
When a Luna warrior, Selara, is banished from her Moon Pack for defying ancient laws, she is forced to live among humans in a hidden form. There, she encounters Kieran, a compassionate human doctor with a tragic past, and Jules, a fiery human woman who is secretly part of a group that hunts supernatural beings. Both become entangled in Selara's life one falling for her, the other suspecting her. But the world Selara left behind is bleeding into the human realm. The moon is shifting. Her banishment wasn't punishment it was bait. The Alpha King of the Moon Pack, her former betrothed and now bitter enemy, has struck a deal with a human elite to merge both realms... at the cost of blood. Selara must now choose between: • Kieran, who offers her a second chance at love, peace, and healing, • And Jules, whose obsession to uncover Selara's secret leads to a dangerous love-hate relationship. When envy turns Jules into a pawn in the Alpha King's plan, Selara must protect both humans and Lunas even if it means killing the one she once loved or dying by the hands of the one she could've loved. As the battle between moon and man rages, love becomes the deadliest weapon of all.

Chapter 1 The Banishment

The moon hung low and angry over Erevelyn Woods, casting a silver glow over the Circle of Elders. Selara knelt in the dirt, her once proud Luna cloak torn and bloodied, her silver hair tangled with leaves and ash. The markings on her skin sacred and ancient pulsed faintly, a reminder of the power she carried but was no longer allowed to wield. The verdict echoed like a death sentence through the night air: "By blood and moon, Selara of the Stormhowl Pack is hereby banished to the realm of men. Stripped of rank. Stripped of bond. Stripped of mate."

She didn't plead. Didn't cry. Didn't even look up at Alpha Kael, the very one who had sworn to protect her. His cold amber eyes met hers with something worse than hate indifference. Once, they had danced under the full moon, whispered promises into the wind. Now, he stood unmoved as she was branded a traitor for refusing to hand over the last surviving human child taken during a raid. Her heart broke not from the exile, but from the silence in Kael's soul as if love had never passed between them.

The crossing into the human world was agonizing. The ritual burned her skin, bent her bones into a new shape. Her wolf fought it, screamed at the stripping of magic, but Selara endured it all for the child she'd saved, for the truth she would one day expose. When she stumbled into the empty road at the edge of the woods, the city lights in the distance blinked like stars she didn't recognize. The forest was silent behind her now. Her pack was gone. Her power, sealed. All she had was the name she whispered to the night: "Selara."

The city smelled strange of metal, smoke, and hurried lives. And yet, there was a peculiar peace in its chaos. Selara found an abandoned building and collapsed inside, her body trembling from the shift, the betrayal, the shame. In her exhaustion, she didn't notice the soft light that crept in through the broken window... or the quiet footsteps that approached her. In the shadows stood a man tall, olive-skinned, eyes the color of dusk. He stepped forward, crouching beside her with careful concern. "Are you hurt?" he asked. She looked up into the eyes of her future and whispered the first human word she could manage. "Help."

Chapter 2 A Stranger's Mercy

Kieran had seen many things during his night shifts at the emergency clinic drug overdoses, street fights, even near death traumas. But never had he found a half conscious woman wrapped in forest leaves, barefoot, blood streaked, and looking like she belonged to another world. She didn't speak more than a word, her eyes wild with pain and exhaustion. Still, something in her gaze silenced every question he wanted to ask. He offered her a coat, led her to his car, and drove without knowing where she came from or why she trembled as if the night itself was chasing her.

At his small, dimly lit apartment, he wrapped her hand in gauze and set out a bowl of soup, pretending not to notice the way her nose twitched before she ate like she was sniffing for poison or danger. She barely spoke, only murmuring her name: "Selara." He found it beautiful, yet strangely ancient. She thanked him without words, only nods and lingering stares. And when she slept on his couch that night, curled like a hunted animal, Kieran stayed awake, wondering what kind of war she had escaped from... and why he already felt the urge to protect her.

Meanwhile, across the city, Jules Moreno paced the halls of The Order of Black Fire, her boots echoing against stone tiles. She had heard rumors of activity in the Erevelyn border signs that something crossed over from the cursed woods. Something powerful. She didn't believe in fairy tales or "creatures of the moon" as the old texts described them. But her instincts, sharp and deadly from years of hunting the supernatural, screamed otherwise. A local man had reported a strange woman found near the forest's edge. That was enough for Jules to start digging and once she started, she never stopped.

Back at Kieran's apartment, Selara awoke with a jolt the sound of howling in her dream still fresh in her ears. She sat up, heart racing, the memory of Alpha Kael's cold stare tightening her chest. The human world was quieter, but it was no safer. Her presence here could disrupt the fragile balance between realms. She was a Luna without a pack, a warrior without magic, and now... a woman caught between two lives. But something about Kieran his gentle hands, his quiet warmth stirred something inside her she hadn't felt in years. Safety. Or maybe, something far more dangerous: hope.

Chapter 3 Eyes in the Dark

The morning sunlight filtered through the thin curtains, casting soft gold on Selara's face as she stirred awake. The warmth was unfamiliar. For years, the only light she knew came from the cold, commanding moon. She sat up slowly, her senses already reaching listening for danger, sniffing for lies. But the apartment was still. Peaceful. Kieran had left a note on the coffee table: "Went to the clinic. Make yourself at home. There's tea in the cupboard." It was simple, human... and kind. She folded the note carefully, as if it were sacred.

She wandered through the small space, her bare feet silent against the wooden floor. Pictures hung on the walls one of Kieran with a laughing woman and a little girl. Both gone, she could sense that. The sorrow lingered like perfume on a forgotten coat. Her fingers brushed the frame gently. She didn't know this man, but she felt his grief like it mirrored her own. Maybe that's why the pull between them was so strong two broken souls orbiting something they didn't understand.

Across town, Jules crouched in front of a map scattered with pins and strings. She had tracked patterns for months strange howling at the edges of the forest, disappearing animals, silver residue found near the creek. The Order dismissed it as scattered data, but Jules saw a trail. Something crossed over. And last night, a local nurse mentioned seeing Kieran drive into town with a bruised and barefoot woman who "moved like a shadow." Jules's jaw tightened. If this woman was what she suspected a Luna then Kieran was in danger. And if she was something else entirely... Jules needed to see it for herself.

That evening, Selara stood on Kieran's balcony, her eyes scanning the horizon. The city was noisy, fast, and full of distractions, but her instincts hadn't dulled. She felt it a presence. Someone was watching. She didn't flinch. Instead, she turned her face to the moon, letting its dim glow wash over her skin. Her power was sealed, yes but not gone. And if whoever stalked her wanted a fight... they had no idea what kind of wolf they'd just sniffed out.
