Chapter 1 One

Clang!

The sound of the gates closing was heard as a red haired lady stepped out of the prison yard. She had a bright smile on her face as she walked out to get her things.

"I hope we don't see you again Gabriela." The man handing her her things smiled at her and she chuckled slightly before collecting her bag.

She stepped out to the parSantos lot where she had expected her boyfriend, James, to be waiting for her but she was met by no one.

"Should I get you a taxi?" The worker who stopped next to her asked and she smiled at him before declining politely.

She turned on her phone and a slight smile crept up her lips as she looked at the wallpaper. It was the picture of her and James on their two years anniversary date.

She hadn't used a phone in five years because of being stuck in the prison after she was thrown there for no reason five years ago.

"James." She said excitedly as the person she was calling answered the call. "You should be here by now. Have you forgotten I'll be getting out of prison today?"

"No babe, I didn't forget but something important came up so I couldn't be there yet and I don't know when I'll be back. Maybe you should take a taxi home." He said from the other end of the phone and her excited face turned to a sad one before she hummed and hung up.

"Gabriela." A familiar voice called her and she looked up to see her best friend, Camilla leaning against her white sports car.

Camilla was wearing a white suit with the jacket hung over her shoulders. She looked like a business woman with a bright smile up her lips.

"Camilla." Gabriela rushed to her and pulled her into a hug. Camilla rubbed her back gently as tears of joy rolled down their eyes.

"It's so good to finally see you out of prison. I've been waiting for this day for years." Camilla sniffed as she wiped her tears.

"It's so good to see you and hug you. It's so good to finally get out of those prison clothes. Geez." Gabriela twirled and Camilla chuckled.

"I didn't know you'd be coming to get me. I thought James would." Gabriela sighed and the look on Camilla's face changed and Gabriela could tell something was wrong.

"What's wrong? Did something happen to James?" Gabriela asked.

"You look lean, Gabriela. Weren't you fed well in there?" Camilla tried to change the topic.

"The food wasn't enough but I've gotten used to it. I can't wait to try home-made dishes." Gabriela smiled gently before returning to James's topic.

"What about James? You haven't told me about him." Gabriela said as she got into the car next to Camilla who already rushed in.

"It's..."

"Don't tell me it's nothing because there clearly is something." Gabriela cut her off before she could say nothing was wrong.

"Well Gabriela, promise me you won't throw a tantrum if I tell you." Camilla said as she rested her back and turning off the engine.

"I'm not like that anymore Camilla. I'm no longer a kid." Gabriela sighed and Camilla looked at her with doubt. "Trust me."

"Remember that lady you slapped back in the club that day and got you arrested for assault?" Camilla asked and Gabriela rolled her eyes before nodding affirmatively.

"James and her kinda dated after you left. They have been together since all these years and now they are getting married today. James is at the wedding so he couldn't pick you up to continue you guys secretly dating or break up with you."

Everything seemed to crash around Gabriela immediately she heard everything Camilla said. That couldn't be possible. She trusted James. He would never do anything of such to her but Camilla would never lie about something like that.

Camilla seemed to understand what was going on in her head so she took her phone and showed the screen to Gabriela who looked at it. It was a picture of her boyfriend and a lady smiling beautifully as she looked up at James.

Under the photo, a caption. "Soon to be newlyweds. James and Isabel."

Gabriela suddenly felt angry and she felt the urge to go over to him and beat the hell out of him. "Take me to him Camilla."

"What did you say?" Camilla asked her, shocked. "Don't tell me I heard you right Gabriela. Are you crazy? You want to wreck the wedding so you'll end up in jail for life?"

"I don't care." Gabriela frowned with her fists clenched.

"But Gabriela, this isn't right. There's nothing we can do about Isabel getting married to James. I'm not as influential as they are and your company has fallen." Camilla said nervously and Gabriela glared at her which made her gulp.

"If it's about the influence, whatever." Gabriela took her phone out of her bag and dialed a number offhand and it rang for a few seconds before the receiver took the call.

"Yes. Right now." Gabriela said before hanging up. "Take me to Starlight boutique please."

Camilla obediently did as her friend asked before she threw a tantrum. Camilla stayed in the car as Gabriela stepped into the boutique and got out after a few minutes.

She was dressed in a black shirt, white suit trousers and its jacket hanging over her shoulders. She had dark shades on and her hair was combed to one side.

She looked like a badass CEO who was oozing out a very dangerous aura. "Please Camilla, take me to the wedding venue."

"Why are you dressed like you're going to arrest them all?" Camilla giggled and a wicked smirk formed on Gabriela's lips as she hummed.

"Let's see what will happen when we get there Camilla." Gabriela said as she got into the car and Camilla looked confused but entered the car anyways.

"Don't do anything crazy Gabriela." Camilla sighed as she drove towards one of the well known hotels in the city. Dynamic Hotel.

Chapter 2 Two

The place had cars driving in and they parked the car far from the entrance looking at those entering the building.

"The wedding is being held on the ground floor. It's the one immediately you step in." Camilla said and Gabriela hummed before getting out of the car.

Camilla stepped down after her and they walked into the hotel. They could tell the party was going on in the large hall after the receptionist office.

Gabriela showed the screen of her phone to the bodyguards and they let them enter. Camilla looked at Gabriela shocked.

"How did you get the invitation?" She asked in a shocked tone.

"That's not for you to worry about Camilla. Just watch and see the drama unfold." Gabriela said as she looked at James and Isabel standing on the stage and exchanging their vows.

"Do you, Isabel, accept James as your husband?"

"I do!" Isabel replied.

"Do you, James, accept Isabel as your wife?"

"I do."

"Anyone against this marriage should speak up now or remain silent."

"I am against the marriage." Gabriela's voice spoke up and everyone looked in her direction. "I'm so against it."

James looked at Gabriela shocked with a what are you doing here expression. Everyone's gaze turned to Gabriela who stood in the middle of the red carpet leading to the couples.

"Congratulations on you trying to get married. Wow." Gabriela clapped her hands and Isabel looked furious but didn't say a word.

"What do you want here you prisoner?" Isabel yelled at her and Gabriela scoffed.

"Incase you don't know and I need to remind you Isabel. James is still officially my boyfriend and since you two are getting married after putting me in jail for no reason at all, I might as well ruin the wedding." A frown settled on Gabriela's lips and everyone in the crowd gasped.

"You assaulted me and don't think you'll go without being punished. That's a crime." Isabel spat out.

"I didn't assault you. I only slapped you because you were flirting with my boyfriend... oh sorry, ex boyfriend." Gabriela rolled her eyes.

"Are you crazy woman?" Isabel's father, Johnson yelled at Gabriela who stared at him blankly before looking back at Isabel and James.

"I'll make you pay for this." Gabriela said as she walked towards them.

"Guards." Johnson yelled and men in black suddenly surrounded Gabriela. She stopped in her tracks and looked at all of them before looking past them to the couples.

"Do you think I would wait for you Gabriela? That will be an absolute waste of time and you'll depend on me mostly to build back your company which already crashed because you the owner is a criminal." James said and Gabriela scoffed as she turned to look at Camilla who looked scared where she stood.

"Camilla, tell your friend to honourably step out of my wedding or she'll end up back to where she came from and this time, it's going to be worse than before."

James's threats did nothing to Gabriela but Camilla laughed nervously. "Please Gabriela, let's just go. Just break up with him and let him go... I mean let's go."

Gabriela didn't even budge. "Men, get her out of here." Johnson thundered and as the men made an attempt to move closer to Gabriela, he grabbed the first one near her and kneed his jaw hard, sending him to fly to the other man behind him.

Gabriela swiftly and skilfully beat the men up and all those who knew her before looked shocked. Back then Gabriela was soft gentle and couldn't even hurt a fly. She was easy to cheat and almost everyone got away with it.

Only James and Camilla stood by her and and never cheated her but now he was. He was betraying her in the worst way, by marrying another woman despite everything they've shared together.

She remembered that night five years back when they decided to celebrate a contract he got in The Oasis Club.

As she was getting them some drinks, she saw Isabel sit on James's lap, touching him and trying to kiss him. She seemed to be forcing herself against him.

Gabriela turned red in anger as she stepped towards them. She slammed the glass on the table and coughed.

"Excuse me..."

"Go away you cheap slut. Can't you see I'm having a good time with my man?" Isabel glared at her angrily. "You're not even that beautiful to come over to interrupt me and try to take my man away."

Isabel rubbed herself against him and Gabriela glared down at both of them. James laughed nervously and didn't say anything.

Gabriela grabbed Isabel's wrist and yanked her away. "How dare you, you ugly prostitute?" Isabel tried to slap her but Gabriela caught her hand in time.

Instead of slapping Gabriela, Gabriela slapped Isabel and she fell backwards and started wailing. The authorities came rushing in to examine her and after seeing some bruises she obviously already had, they called the police and with her father pulling some strings, she got arrested and put into jail for five years.

Gabriela stood before the men and looked at them all rolling on the floor for their dear lives. Gabriela looked proud of what she did and they all looked shocked.

Gabriela didn't even care that they were live. All she wanted to do was get to that James and beat the hell out of him.

James was too shocked to even listen to Isabel. It really is true that prison changes a man.

"Do you know the penalty of what you just did Gabriela? You surely are going back to the jail you just returned from few minutes ago." Isabel threatened.

"Those are The Tigers men if you don't know. The mafia boss isn't one to spare anyone. If you know what's best for you, you'll fall on your knees and start begging." Johnson threatened but Gabriela just looked at him before taSantos a champagne flute from the waitress and she sat down majestically before sipping from her glass.

"Call them over." Gabriela said which shocked them even more. "I can single handedly beat them all up and beat you too if you cross my path."

"Gabriela?! Are you crazy?" Camilla half screamed.

Everyone was curious to see her reaction if The Tigers actually came. Since the Red phoenix went down, they've been the ruling mafia family and no one dares to face them or disobey them, now she was there telling them to send for her death.

Gabriela stood up and took a bottle of champagne and she examined it well before aiming at Isabel and James. The duo looked shocked to their bones as the bottle shattered at their feet.

"Who do you think you are?" Isabel screamed as she made an attempt to go down to hit Gabriela but James pulled her back.

"There's no need to waste your energy on her, Isabel. It'll be a waste of time and energy." James convinced Isabel who was still fuming when sounds of power bikes and sport cars drove to the hotel.

Everyone could see from the large TV screen from the media outside the house. Camilla gulped nervously while Gabriela just stood there looking at the entrance.

"You asked for it Gabriela, and here they are." Isabel laughed wickedly.

Men in black started rushing inside and everyone looked terrified as they looked at them as they walked into the venue.

The boss soon stepped in and everyone admired the way Gabriela still had her head up despite knowing her demise was very near.

Antonio, the don of The Tigers mafia family pulled off his dark shades and stared straight at Gabriela who had her arms crossed before her chest.

"Oh my goodness, this wedding is about to be bloody."

"She should just apologize, maybe she would be spared."

Antonio looked at Gabriela with a raised brow. She didn't look scared or anything as he stepped closer, he examined her from head to toe till his gaze fell on her right middle finger.

He looked like he just saw a ghost but what he saw was the deadliest between the two.

"Don." Antonio bowed and everyone in the room looked shocked as they turned to Gabriela. "Please pardon my men. They didn't recognize you. I'm really sorry. You know I won't want to cross Red phoenix."

Everyone looked shocked. "Red phoenix?"

Chapter 3 Three

The world was shocked at Antonio's revelation. She was the boss of Red phoenix?

Red phoenix was one of the most powerful mafia family in the whole city. After the past Boss died, no one ever heard from them.

Camilla looked at her friend with a shocked expression. Gabriela turned to look at Isabel and James.

"So which one of you out me in prison again? Yeah you." Gabriela said with a wicked smirk on.

The men on the aisle geve way as another man dressed in black stepped in. He had one of his hands in his pocket as he walked towards Gabriela.

"Welcome back Don. I was a few minutes behind schedule so I missed you when you got out of the station." He said with his head bowed.

Gabriela looked back at him and she saw the necklace around his neck.

"I don't appreciate being late Pierre. Deal with them and ensure Camilla gets home safely." Gabriela said as she walked out of the hall.

A long line of black cars with a phoenix logo on the doors were waiting for her already and one of the guards pulled open the door for her.

Gabriela stepped into the car and rested her back before they closed the door. The cars started moving one after the other and Camilla who was watching them drive off was dumbfounded.

"Please tell me I'm dreaming." Camilla said to one of the bodyguards but they didn't say anything to her.

The long line of cars drove to the northern part of the city where a large palace like mansion sat proudly. As the car drove in, hundreds of men already lined by the driveway.

As Gabriela stepped out of the car, they all bowed and she waved at them gently. Just then, Pierre's car drove into the compound.

"Welcome home Don. We thought we would never find you." Pierre bowed to her as he got to the end of the stairs she was standing on.

"Men, welcome Don Gabriela. She is late Don Santos's lost daughter."

Gabriela herself looked shocked at the information and was about to ask Pierre about it when all the men chorused. "Welcome home Don."

Gabriela forced a smile and the doors to the mansion was pulled open and she walked in. Maids were standing on each sides of the red carpet leading to the throne.

Behind the throne, there was a picture of a man and a woman whom she recognized from seeing in the TV a few times when she was young.

Just like her, the man was red haired and he was sitting on that same throne with a woman sitting on the armrest, holding his hand.

"That's Don Santos, your father and your mother, Esther." Pierre said and she looked at him.

"Why are you calling them my parents? My parents died before I was even one but I've seen them..."

"When you were born, you were taken, more like someone kidnapped you. They searched for you for years and finally were convinced that you were dead. Then few days before you went to prison, we found out about it." Pierre gave her some papers of her DNA matching that of Santos and Esther.

"We then asked Matt to train you. He was close friends with your father..."

"Wait, you mean Matt in prison?" Gabriela asked and Pierre nodded.

"Yes it is that Matt. He and your father grew up together and he was your father's under boss. Few years after your parent's death, he was imprisoned." Pierre explained and Gabriela looked shocked.

Matt was the first person she met in the prison when she got there. He was a man in his mid fifties when she got to the prison and he was quite protective of her and she didn't know why.

He trained her day and night on fighting and taught her how the illegal world operated. She didn't actually know why but she listened to all his teachings.

"Whenever you get hit, you get up back." Matt yelled at Gabriela who was laying in the dust covered in bruises and blood.

"I'm getting... tired." Gabriela groaned but he didn't listen to anything. The men she was fighting charged at her and kept on hitting her and she tired her best to dodge all their attacks till she finally fell on the floor too tired to stand.

"Let her be." Matt ordered the men and they bowed before walSantos away.

Matt walked to her and picked her up and handed her a handkerchief to wipe the blood rolling out of her mouth.

"Change your clothes and come for lessons later." Matt said before turning to leave.

"He was brutal." Gabriela whispered to Pierre who chuckled.

"He is my father and I know him well. He trains you extremely so fighting bad guys won't be a problem at all for you." Pierre said and Gabriela turned to look at him in shock.

"He is your father?" Gabriela asked and Delcan hummed and then she started to recognize the resemblance between the duo.

"Although he didn't really train me much but he did till I was seven. By then I can beat up some guys here." Pierre replied and Gabriela smiled gently before patting his back.

"I'll teach you all his techniques and you'll be my training partner." Gabriela said and he hummed before one of the maids walked in and offered to take her to her room.

The maid walked forward while Gabriela trailed behind her as she looked at the large training field through the glass walls in the passageway.

She already liked this place because it wasn't just big. I was unique and beautiful. The interior was white and gold with red rubies used to make different mosaic of Phoenix and other designs.

"This place is beautiful." Gabriela commended and the maid smiled as she heard her but didn't say a word.

"Ma'am, lunch will be ready in thirty minutes. Please freshen up and Sir Pierre will lead you there." The maid said as she pulled the door to her room open.
