Libianca's point of view
My brows furrowed when I felt the bright and slanting sun rays on my eyelids.
Immediately irritated by the unpleasant sensation, opening my eyes, I found myself in a strange room. Panic-stricken, I tried to recognize my surroundings, which were too luxurious to be my shabby room, but a smile graced my lips when memories of the previous night resurfaced. I found my fated mate and spent the night in his arms.
Excitement filled my heart at the thought of seeing him. I ignored the protest from my wobbly, sore legs to get ready to see him. He wasn't in the room, which made me a bit disappointed, but then I heard incoherent chatter coming from the sitting room.
I got out of the room and walked down the hallway to the sitting room. Then the incoherent chatter got clear, a familiar female voice, she was flirting with my mate.
I experienced a surge of conflicting emotions, prompting me to dash down the hallway to the living room. There, I was greeted by a sight that initially seemed unbelievable, but it was right in front of me.
My best friend, Nyx, was cradled in my mate's embrace, and they were making out so passionately like nothing mattered in the world. His idle hand was roaming all over her tracing her curves. For a second, everything went still; my body froze on the spot, trying to decipher the scene in front of me.
My lips parted, but I couldn't utter a word. "What the hell is happening here, Maddox?" I wanted to scream out, but only a whisper left my lips like a coward, and it broke me. Maddox heard me. He heard me because immediately, they were both brought out of their world.
Nyx only sneered at me before continuing to kiss Maddox in front of me. My breath stiffened. It felt as if my soul had ripped out of my body.
"Honey, when are you going to take out the trash? It stinks in here." Nyx flirted at Maddox, biting her lips seductively as her hands traced his chiselled chest, arousing Maddox with her every action.
My fist clenched hearing her provoking words as my daze broke. "Stay away from my mate, you witch." I managed to bark at Nyx, using all my strength not to whisper, trying my best to be strong, which was in vain because tears didn't stop pouring from my eyes like raindrops on the window panel.
Nyx was probably stunned by my unnatural tone; confusion was evident in her eyes, but she quickly recovered from the shock. Her eyes were filled with rage and disgust. "How dare you call me a witch, you dirty dog?!" She spat at me.
I was stunned when my cheeks stung because Nyx just slapped me. " Maddox just see how pathetic she is. She thinks a worthless trash like her can be your mate." Nyx sneered at me.
I turned to look at Maddox, hoping he would do something, but I was just delusional. Something flashed in his eyes, the feeling of guilt, but he averted his eyes before he drew Nyx closer to me, crushing my last hope.
My back became wet with cold sweat as fear began to creep inside of me when he stared back at me with the same disgust as Nyx's eyes. "I hope your hands don't hurt," Maddox told Nyx with affection evident in his eyes, then showered her with soft kisses.
It was unbelievable. He was the same man from last night who showed me love. Nyx rubbed her hand with a slight frown. "I am fine, my alpha. I am a beta, so things like this don't hurt me, unlike some people." Nyx mocked me, a Wolfless omega; her hands caressed Maddox's charming face.
' This had to be a nightmare, it can't be real. Nyx would never do this to me.' I tried to convince myself, slapping myself hard to wake up.
' Wake up Libianca.' I kept on repeating in my head, not wanting to believe this was my bestie.
"Why are you doing this to me?" I managed to brace myself and said through my gritted teeth, my heart beat wildly in my chest.
"Who do you think you are to question me, Libianca? Were you delusional that someone like you could be Maddox's mate?" Nyx scoffed, approaching me with steady steps, but Maddox stopped her.
He got up and walked towards me. I took a step back the closer he got to me. The corner of his lips pulled up to form a smirk when he suddenly grabbed my face and tilted my chin up.
"I thought we could be friends, Labianca." Maddox began, and I braced myself for whatever he was going to say. He is going to break me, trample on me. "But what can an omega like you offer? It is funny how you willingly threw yourself at me and who was I to refuse?" Maddox said with his eyes staring at me condescendingly.
"Maddox", I whimpered, crying.
"Oh, Labianca," he taunted with a sinister smile on his lips.
"Did you think I would love you because we are mates?" He paused, then his eyes got cold as he said...
"You are nothing but a weak Omega and Nyx also told me how you were probably hoping you could get fated to an Alpha. You are nothing but a..."
Before the rest of the words could escape Maddox's lips, I raised my hand to slap him, but Nyx caught my hand and twisted it; her long nails were piercing through my skin while Maddox only smiled.
"I'm done with you Labianca," Maddox said with a stoic expression on his face. He spat out every word like venom and I whimpered.
"Please, stop it." I whimpered, but Nyx didn't listen. Her nails continued to pierce through my skin until they bled.
"The best you can be is a servant to serve his bodily needs and nothing more. " She declared, then leaned close to my ears and whispered. "Don't do anything stupid; remember, I have your mother within my reach." She threatened to challenge my bottom line.
Filled with fury, I pushed Nyx away and slapped her so hard she stumbled on the floor. Maddox rushed to her aid to help her off the floor, his enraged eyes focused on me.
"Maddox, I hate you and I regret being your mate!" I screamed, staring enviously at them, wishing I was the one in his arms instead of me.
Maddox's eyes were filled with worry as he examined Nyx, who had fallen unconscious on the floor.
"Someone should get a healer here immediately!" Maddox suddenly boomed via the pack mind link to every pack member close by.
My feet moved backwards, dumbstruck. It was just a gentle push. Why was she unconscious? The look Maddox gave me seemed like he was going to rip me apart. I had to run for my life. I could not withstand the rage of an alpha.
Maddox then sent another command via the pack mind link to capture me. It officially made me a fugitive. I could not help but laugh at myself about how I just lost my pride as a woman to a jerk like Maddox.
I ran out of the building, broken and panicking. It was raining heavily outside as if the moon goddess was at my side. At least the rain would mask my scent. I don't know how long I ran, but my legs continued moving due to the adrenaline rush.
After running for what seemed like forever, I got to a silent alley where I sat down because of exhaustion, allowing the rain to continue pouring on me. A loud howl echoed from a close distance.
They were close. How did they find me so soon in the rain? My legs were cramped, and I couldn't move again. That was when I finally gave up and fell. I tried crawling but it was useless. Soon I was surrounded by large wolves circling me.
The last thing I remembered was Maddox's large silver wolf staring at me and everything turned black.
The crackling flames woke me, my body left limp, realizing I was chained to a pole with silver chains that were burning into my skin in front of a large burning fire. Everyone's eyes were on me, judging me like a heinous criminal. ' Why was I in the Pack square?' I wondered.
"We are all here to witness the punishment of a criminal among us." Maddox's voice boomed. He started making his one-sided account of what I had done; luckily, Nyx had survived but was comatose, so I couldn't be killed, but as punishment, I would be ex-communicated from the pack.
As an Omega, breaking the pack bond was as good as Killing me; there was no way I would survive the pain.
Who was he kidding? I would die from that because of my poor healing abilities, and I broke into a sadistic laugh realizing my fate. A loud cry broke out, it was my mother who was also present. I guess she realized my impending death.
"But before that, I have an announcement...." his voice boomed again, silencing everyone except my crying mother.
"I, Maddox, silver alpha of the silver moon pack, reject Libianca Dolce as my mate." He declared, making the crowd burst into confusion and surprise.
I guess none of them expected the alpha to kill his fated mate. "I won't accept your rejection." I managed to spit at him glaring furiously while gritting my teeth because of the pain that filled my body from the silver binds.
I was not going to reject him, he must suffer the pain of my death due to our incomplete mate bond. Maddox saw my determination to make him suffer and accepted my choice.
He was a strong alpha, so he could endure the death of an omega mate. "So be it." He then declared.
"From this day on, Libianca Dolce is no longer a member of the Silver Valley pack. I, as the alpha, cut every tie with you. May the goddess Selena seal this deed." Maddox chanted under the moon.
I felt a sudden pain hit me. It became hard to breathe, combined with the pain from the silver. I struggled to keep my eyes open because of my mother's cries, but it was too much for me to endure. My conscience slipped into a dark abyss as my eyes closed forever.
' Is this the feeling of death?' I asked myself. It felt like I had been thrown into a cold, dark pit I could not climb out of as everything grew dark; those were my last moments. When my dreadful life as the Wolfless omega of the silver moon ended.
At least that was what I thought, but why did I suddenly open my eyes in a strange room, and there was a strange boy with a strange accent holding my hands and crying? He was saying strange things like I was heartless for leaving him alone in this world and calling my sister.
I wanted to ask him who he was but instead coughed out a mouthful of blood. The boy's eyes shot out excited when he heard me cough. "Zina you are still alive!!" He shrieked seeing my weakly open eyes. He rushed to hug me. "I knew my sister wouldn't leave me alone in this world. I knew you would not die so easily." He started shedding ears hugging me tightly.
Libianca's Point of View
Days have gone by since I woke up in this body. I have come to terms with what happened to me. I died as Libianca Dolce and was reborn as Zina Donovan without any memories of her past.
The door creaked open, catching my attention, and a boy who bore a lot of resemblance to Zina came in, Alexei Donovan, Zina's brother.
"Zina I am back." He chimed when he came in and walked to my side. He was carrying a bag that contained herbs which he had been using to treat me.
"Welcome back, how was school?" I managed to say. My throat was feeling better after receiving treatment from Alexei.
"School was not bad. How are you feeling today? Any improvements?" He asked me, walking up to hug me. He was looking exhausted and beaten up. It was obvious he had gotten into a fight earlier today.
"I am feeling better today; I went out for a stroll earlier around the house," I replied, breaking off the hug..
"You went out for a walk today. Did you run into anyone?" Alexei chimed, beaming a smile at me. He looked happy that I was able to move around now.
"I didn't run into anyone," I answered, I couldn't run into anyone when this house seemed desolated from the pack. "Did you get into a fight at school?" I asked Alexei, and he froze for a moment before he shrugged his shoulders.
" Not really just a minor disagreement." He answered, his attention focused on the medicine he was making for me with the herbs he had brought.
"Then why do you look beaten up?" My curiosity didn't let me stop; whenever I asked him why he came home beaten up, he always gave me the same reply.
"It is nothing, Zina, you should mind your business!" Alexei suddenly barked at me, causing me to flinch because of his sharp tone, stumbling away a few steps.
"I am sorry, I was just concerned." My voice came out like a whimper, unable to handle the way he spoke to me. Alexei's eyes softened at my reaction, and he rushed over to hug me.
" Sorry, I didn't mean to sound that way. I am just having some problems at school. You don't have to bother yourself and just focus on your recovery. " After making sure my emotions were calm, he broke the hug and went back to preparing my medicine.
" Here is your medicine. I am going to the bathroom to change my clothes. " He gave me a bowl of crudely made liquid. I drank the mixture while waiting for him to come back. After that, he made dinner for us. I wanted to help, but he refused, saying I was still a patient.
I glanced at Alexei and was convinced he had the presence of an Alpha, but why was he this poor? I wondered. We were enjoying our meal when Alexei suddenly stood up with a frown on his face.
Alexei's eyes darkened as he made his way to the door, my brows furrowed, not understanding the reason for his abrupt mood swing, but before I could ask him why, there was a loud sound of knocking on the door. "Alexei, I know you are in there. Open the door. " Someone announced from outside.
' Please don't make a sound. ' Alexei instructed me via the mind link. He went to the door to answer the visitors. He stood in the opening to prevent them from looking inside.
"What do you want?" He asked. I couldn't see who the visitors were, but Alexei didn't seem happy with their visit.
" Where is your sister? Your rent is overdue. " The person said. "Zina is not available at the moment and I promise to pay up the rent before the week runs out."
"You expect me to believe that it was the same thing Zina said a week ago." The person sneered. "If you can't pay, then move out of my house."
"Please be patient, I promise to pay as soon as possible." Alexei pleaded; he and the visitors got into a verbal argument, trying to come to a resolution until another group arrived.
I could deduce they were warriors from their presence. Alexei was tensed by the new visitors.
"Alexei Donovan, we are here on behalf of the alpha to bring your sister to the pack house. " One of the warriors announced, stopping Alexei and the homeowner from arguing further.
"Zina is dead. So how can she be here? Maybe you should check the graveyard. " Alexei indifferently replied. He was anxious about their presence. I also felt a knot form in my stomach when I heard their statement.
" It was reported that she was seen walking around the vicinity today. Please make way and don't defy the alpha's instructions or else we will be forced to use brute force. " I was surprised. Why were they looking for me? Was this why Alexei said I shouldn't make a sound?
" No one else is here. Where did you hear such a rumour from? " Alexei insisted, trying to be as calm as possible.
"Then why have you been stealing herbs from the healer?" The warrior scoffed. Alexei clenched his fist because he had been caught red-handed.
Alexei refused to move despite the warning and a fight broke out. He was strong, like an alpha, but the warriors had numbers and experience to their advantage. Despite Alexei's resistance, the warriors were able to subjugate him and break into the house.
Everything happened quickly. Before I knew it, we were both manhandled and brought to the main pack house where the alpha was resident.
The moment I stepped into the pack house and laid my eyes on the interior, my head started aching because everything seemed familiar to me. Memories that were strange to me started filling my head, but it seemed like I experienced them first-hand.
A single tear ran down my eyes when everything became clear to me. How can one person be unlucky twice in life? The memories of Zina answered all the questions I had in mind.
From a Wolfless omega, I was now a forgotten princess. Zina was the daughter of the last alpha of the Blood Moon pack. Her parents died in a tragic incident a couple of years ago, leading to several events unfolding, and ultimately, her aunty rose to the position of the Luna while her aunty's mate, who was the pack's former beta, became the alpha.
Zina and her brother were reduced to servants, an Alpha doing the job of an omega. Her aunty Melissa did everything to make their life a living hell alongside her only son, Kayden, who was now the heir. The siblings' lives have been filled with humiliation and struggles as those who adored them before now mock them.
" My favourite niece is finally here already. Why didn't you visit me when you recovered? " A familiar female voice chimed. Approaching me was a woman with pitch-black hair and sapphire blue eyes like the siblings. I recognized her to be my very hospitable aunty Melissa.
She approached me and Alexei with her husband, Ezekiel, who was the present alpha by her side. Fury filled my heart as I watched her. The way she smiled provoked me, knowing she was the cause of all Zina's problems. There was a strong urge to pounce on her and vent out my frustrations, but I was being restrained by the warriors.
"Why are you glaring at me that way?" She asked, sounding oblivious to my reaction. "You have no right to be angry when your childish act almost jeopardized the entire pack." Her voice scoffed at me with a hint of anger.
" Jeopardize the pack. That is a fancy way to say your plans to use me as a scapegoat failed." I spat at her, my eyes mocking her, which earned me a hard slap.
"How dare you!" Alexei, who had been silent all through, barked when Melissa slapped me. He wanted to break out of his restraint but was quickly knocked out.
" That boy is still as annoying as ever. I only keep him around because he still has some use. " Melissa sneered, staring at Alexei before turning her attention back to me.
" Zina, my dear, you are the daughter of the last alpha and still a member of the family. So you must serve the pack at times like this. " Melissa gave me a self-righteous speech.
"Why should I care about a pack that hates me?" Melissa reached out for my face and lifted my chin for me to stare directly into her sharp eyes.
" Do you think I care about your opinion? It doesn't matter what happens to you or your suicide attempts. You will do whatever I tell you to do or else you will watch your precious brother die. " Melissa threatened me. I clenched my jaw because I was aware of what she wanted and knew she was capable of her threats.
"If you don't want your brother dead, be useful and obey my commands." She increased the pressure on her fingertips before releasing my face, leaving red marks on where she was holding.
Melissa was all worked up because her plans to give me out as a servant to the Lycan lord pack almost failed. The previous owner of the body committed suicide due to depression from her sad life that became unbearable when Melissa decided to exchange her for a peace treaty with the Lycan lord.
Being sent to the brutal Lycan lord was as good as being given a death sentence. My last life was already bad. Why did the moon goddess have to put me in a difficult situation like this?
" Send the boy to the cells, he has to pay for the herbs he stole. As for Zina, take her away to get ready to be presented to the Lycan lord," Melissa instructed the warriors, walking away.
My eyes shot out, hands grabbing the hem of my dress. Fear gripped my insides as shivers ran down my spine.
He was here already. The most ruthless Lycan in all the land, even Werewolves feared him.
"Oh, moon goddess", I gasped in a scared whisper. My fists tightened.
' I have to do something, I can't let him take me. I can't suffer again. Why was my luck so rotten? '
Libianca's Point of View
Why was my luck always rotten? I get reincarnated into a forgotten werewolf princess who is to be sold off to a tyrant for the pack's greater good. For the good of people who despised my existence all this time.
My eyes burned with hatred as I was dragged away glaring at my aunt's retreating.
I got separated from my brother and was taken to a room to be cleaned up. Although I was technically being sold as a slave, I had to be presentable, cleaned and dolled up to create an illusion to the Lycan lord that I was of value to the park and worth the peace treaty.
"Why should we be the ones to serve her? " An omega spat, looking at me with disgust.
"We just have to; after today, we will be free from her cursed presence." Another one scoffed. I gripped my dress, trying to keep my anger at bay; they didn't even pretend to keep their disgust away from my face. I had already taken a shower earlier, and they were helping me dress up and do my makeup.
"These clothes are a pure waste on her." Another mentioned out of jealousy.
All their words were from jealousy because, despite me being a fallen princess, I was still the most beautiful girl in the pack who was envied and lusted for because of my looks.
As one of them was craving my brows, she deliberately cut me, thinking I wouldn't react, but unfortunately for her, my mood today was not the best. I slapped her hard across her face, which stunned all the maids. Her accomplices ran to her side.
They were stunned by my actions, but I was done being looked down on. This was my second chance and I will decide how to define myself.
"Get out of here!" I commanded them with a strong voice. They were probably scared by my fury and ran away. Omegas will always be omegas. I scoffed, looking at their retreating backs.
After they left, I stared at my reflection in the mirror and used a wipe to clean the blood from my bleeding brow. I sighed seeing it was not healing as fast as it should because my Wolfless state followed me into this life along with my bad luck.
After finally stopping the bleeding, I decided to do my makeup and choose a dress for myself. ' Now I look like a princess who is about to be sold. ' I thought, staring at my reflection in the mirror. Zina was very beautiful, I must admit.
With a brave face, I left the room, even though he was a ruthless tyrant, I was going to go to his pack. It was better than staying in the place. Only if I could leave with Alexei.
I was ready to make the decision the previous owner was scared of. At the door, there was a warrior standing guard; I guessed the maids didn't run their mouths about me.
"Take me to the Luna," I asked. The warrior was stunned at my appearance but quickly got over it..
"Huh, okay, follow me." He stuttered. I followed him to a door which looked very familiar. It was the alpha's study, the warrior didn't knock because he had probably informed them ahead of time via mind link.
I confidently walked into the study to see five people already present there. Three faces were foreign, but there was one that stood out. Sitting majestically opposite the alpha, he sat there looking domineering like he owned the place. I didn't need anyone to inform me he was the Lycan lord.
Although it was our first meeting, I can't think of anyone who looked this sinfully handsome with such a demeanour. My confidence evaporated when his grey eyes fell on me. It was a short glance, but it was enough to make me shrink.
"Oh Zina, you are finally here." My Aunt Melissa chimed like a loving aunty who had just seen her favourite niece. She used her hands to signify I should come closer.
I braced myself to come close even though all my instincts were screaming in my head to run away. The aura of the Lycan lord was something I could not stand. It was too domineering and powerful.
"You look very beautiful Zina." My uncle Ezekiel complimented.
"Thank you, alpha Ezekiel." I respectfully replied with a forced smile; since they were all playing the happy family, I would play along as long as I could get out of there and then make sure to escape before we arrived at the other pack.
"This is my niece, the daughter of the former alpha of the pack." Melissa then introduced me with a bright smile. The Lycan lord didn't say much but just nodded, he looked like the type that didn't talk much.
"This is enough for you to overlook our mistakes, my lord." My uncle nervously said. I felt like sneering at how eager they were to sell me out for their own good. The Lycan lord indifferently glanced at my uncle, not bothered by anyone.
" Get out. " His cold voice suddenly ordered with authority. He was so scary no one could stand him, especially werewolves. What the hell was my uncle thinking of by attempting to go against this man? Everyone started rushing out of the study. It was funny how this was not his pack but yet he had this much authority.
"I didn't say you should leave." His voice boomed behind me, sending shivers down my spine and bringing me to a halt just a step away from the door. My terrified aunty turned behind to look at him, barely holding herself. ' Is he talking about me? ' I asked myself.
"Everyone but her should leave." He said again to make his instructions clearer. I was struck at a spot while everyone left. 'What does he want from me?' My thoughts screamed.
I nervously gulped and turned towards his direction. "Is there anything you want from me, my lord," I asked with my voice shaking. I was trying to control myself, but I couldn't stop fidgeting.
The Lycan lord, Alpha Nikolai, was like a god of war to the shifters. A man who has never lost a battle. "Come close." He commanded, and my legs moved on their own, obeying his command.
It stopped a few steps away from him. "Are you happy here?" He suddenly asked. I was taken aback by his strange question.
"This is the pack I grew up in," I answered, being careful of my words and avoiding giving a direct answer.
" That is not an answer. Are you happy here? Do you like this place? " He asked again.
"Of course I love it," I answered. No matter how much I hated this pack, my brother was still held here. The Lycan lord stood up from his seat to approach me. I tried to move away, but my feet betrayed me and were rooted at a spot. His towering figure dominated me, he looked down at me with those grey eyes that held so much power.
His hand approached my face and stopped just an inch away from the skin on the cut I had close to my brows, his eyes darkened. " You hate it here, don't you? Every part of your body is repulsed by them." He stated, his eyes were staring intently at the cut on my face.
I was stunned. How did he realize it? I made sure to hide my disgust earlier. "How can I be repulsed by my pack?" I questioned him with a sad smile.
" Why are you still defending them? No matter how you hide it, I know you hate them. " His hand was now playing with my hair, deliberately avoiding contact with my skin.
" Yes, I don't like it here, but this is the pack my late father fought for till his last breath, and my brother is part of it. So why would I hate what he is part of? " I answered. Neither did his stoic expression change nor did he move away. His strong presence dominated me in every way.
"He fought for this pack, but they killed him." He suddenly stated, leaving me flabbergasted. Where did he get that idea from? Except for me, no one else suspected the cause of the accident that night, even Alexei was too young to remember the night our parents died.
"Who told you that?" I gasped.
"I investigated the fallen princess, the former daughter of the alpha who her pack was ready to let go of to save themselves." He answered me with an authoritative voice.
"I have an offer for you; follow me willingly from this pack, and I will do something for you in return." He offered me the olive branch.
"What will you do in return?" I asked with my brows furrowed at his words. He leaned towards me with his warm breath fanning my ear. It sent sparks similar to what it felt like to be touched by your soulmate.
"How about I burn this place you hated for years to the ground and take you and your brother far away." His charming voice that made me weak to my knees whispered in my ears, voicing out my darkest desire.
Why was he willing to do that? What did he truly want? His voice gave me goosebumps. Did he mean what he just said? As if reading my thoughts from my expression.
" There is no need to think much. I was never the type to forgive my enemies in the first place. The moment they decided to go against me sealed their fates. " He chimed, smiling devilishly at me. How can someone be this handsome? He was the devil in human skin.
My breath hitched; he was a tyrant, just like the rumours. " You planned on destroying the pack right from the start. Didn't you? "
"Their end was imminent from the start," he said with a lopsided smirk.
"Then why did you bother negotiating with them if that was your plan?" I was starting to reconsider my resolve. If I followed him, would it be possible to escape his clutches, or would I be sending myself to hell?
" Let's say I was curious to meet you, Princess Zina, but then again, I love to be thorough when handling things like that. Give them a glimpse of hope, then take it away. " He spoke casually, but it sounded menacing in my ears.
"Is that why you want to give me a glimpse of hope only to crush it later?" He froze for a second before he took my hair into his hands and sniffed it while staring at me.
I felt something move inside me staring at those sharp grey eyes that seemed like they wanted to devour me. He didn't answer me, but I had a crazy feeling he would not hurt me. There was something in my mind that was telling me to jump into the abyss with him despite the warning signs.
" They sold you to me. I am not the type that hurts things that are mine, so once again, I will ask, would you burn with them or come with me and watch them burn? "
