The Lycan King's Mute Mate

Aurora's POV

As I stepped into the bathroom, the sweet smell of Jasmine filled the air. The warm light of the candles illuminated the room making my skin feel at peace.

The tender hand of my right handmaid, Elena gently loses the lace of my corset and I watched as the dress fell on the floor revealing my body to the maids.

I climbed into the tub and let the warm water calm my body. I had a long day, today was I and Elijah's sixth wedding anniversary and I had to plan the party.

"My lady, what do you plan on doing tonight?" Elena, my best friend asked as she poured warm rose and milk water on my hair.

After the death of my mother, I had to move in with my Father and step family and that was how I met Elena, she was a maid there and we became friends.

"Did they arrange Elijah's room yet?" I asked in sign language.

I was able to hear but I couldn't speak, I was mute, people of the pack called me dumb and never respected me because of it.

Everyone of my personal maids and guards had to learn sign language to communicate with me but my husband Elijah didn't bother, he just has people interpret it for him.

"No, we weren't able to arrange the room, Alpha Elijah was busy in his room," Elena explained, I forced a smile on my face and nodded my head in understanding.

He was always busy in his room, I knew he was busy with his mistress and it hurt so much. Ever since I got married to Elijah, we haven't consummated our marriage and we have never shared a room.

Time was running out and I needed to keep my place as the Luna of this pack, I had a little respect because of him and I didn't want to return to my family so I needed to consummate our marriage tonight and carry an heir.

"Aurora!! Aurora!!" Elijah yelled as he stepped into the bathroom, "Leave this minute!!" he yelled at everyone. My eyes fell on his body and he was wearing a trouser and a blue robe that wasn't buttoned.

"Where do you think you are going?" He asked Elena as she was about to leave, "Who is going to interpret what this dummy is saying?"

I felt a painful feeling in my chest when I heard him say dummy, his insult isn't new but I kept feeling pain everytime he said something.

"Come out, I'm talking to you and cover up," Elijah looked at me with disgust as those words left his mouth.

I immediately felt self conscious of my body, Elena passed me a cloth, I came out of the tub and used it to wrap around my wet and soapy body.

"Why did you enter my room? You know I hate those flowers, why did you tell them to arrange my room?" Elijah's face reddened with anger, "You always do that nonsense every year."

"You must be angry? I'm sorry, I was just arranging your room so we could spend the night together," I explained feeling guilty and Elena interpreted for him.

The guilt went through the window as I saw Elijah burst into laughter, "You think I would spend the night with you in my room?"

Those words hurt like paper cutting through the flesh but I kept my feeling outside, "You are such an annoying fool, just get ready for the event."

"I'm tired, let's not argue, just get ready for the event," Elena interpreted what I didn't say and I stared in disbelief. She has always done that ever since we were kids.

Elena had learnt sign language because of me, I wasn't always mute but circumstances made me this way and ever since she learnt sign language, she always interpreted what she wanted to the people who didn't understand it.

"Let me warn you," Elijah took threatening step to me and pointed his finger at my face, "Don't you ever step foot into my room again else you will face my wrath, you keep forgetting you were sold to me," Elijah hissed, his shoulder bumped into me and I lose my balance a bit as he walked out of the bathroom.

"My lady, are you okay?" Elena rushed and held me.

Elijah was always this way, he was constantly reminding me that my stepmother had sold me to him in exchange for power for both packs.

"Luna," One of the maids entered the bathroom as I entered the tub.

"How dare you come in here? Can you see that Luna isn't in the mood?" Elena yelled. She wasn't just my friend but was my voice in some situations.

"Luna, I'm sorry, I just wanted to inform you that your sister Indigo is around and has sent you a dress for your wedding anniversary party.

A huge smile made its way to my face as Indigo's name was mentioned. Despite being ill treated at my Father's house and by the pack. Indigo was the only one who treated me right, she didn't allow me to feel the absence of a mother.

"Where is she?" I asked and Elena interpreted.

"She is somewhere around the house, my lady I will drop the clothes in your room," The maid said, I nodded my head and with my permission, she left to my room.

"Hurry, I must go see Indigo, this is the first time in a long time she is coming to my house," I said out of excitement. My heart was so happy to see her.

"Sure, my lady," Elena laughed lightly. She called the other maid inside the room to pamper my body and my hair.

When I came out of the bathtub, I didn't wait for them to dry my body, I wrapped the cloth around my body and ran to the room. I desperately wanted to put on the dress Indigo had sent to me and go see her.

"My lady, your family and relatives have arrived," One of the guards announced. The guests were already coming. I should hurry up to the ballroom so I could welcome them.

I dressed up in the blue and white dress Indigo had gotten for me, they adorned me with jewelry and the maids did my makeup so I would look the finest in the room.

"Alpha Elijah wouldn't dare take his eyes off you tonight," one of the maids said and it made me blush.

"Thank you," I smiled at her, "Let's go check for Indigo," I said to Elena through the mirror.

"Y'all can retire to your different duties!!!" Elena announced and we left my room.

I didn't want anyone to look for her, I wanted to give her a surprise. After checking everywhere including the ballroom, my room and all the places she could have gone, I didn't see her.

I wondered where she could have gone, "My lady, let's just go and welcome the guest, we will see her at the party," Elena said and I nodded my head in disappointment.

I knew I was going to see her so I would just wait until I do. I was going downstairs when I heard a noise coming from Alpha Elijah's room.

I had a feeling he was with another woman but today of all days. Did he really hate me that much?

I was hurt but I had to pretend like I didn't know for my marriage to be kept. Alpha Elijah's room door was slightly opened so I had asked Elena to close the door but she stood Frozen, her mouth hanging open as her eyes widened.

I touched her shoulder and she hurriedly shut the door. That was suspicious and her reaction was like she had seen a ghost.

"My lady we should go greet the guest," Sweat foam on Elena's forehead and I could tell the smile on her face was forced.

"Move away from the door," I expressed myself with a straight face so she could understand I wasn't in the mood for play.

Elena shut her eyes tight and gave me a way to see for myself.

I opened the door and the sight before me almost made me throw up,

I felt weak in the knees as my head could only voice her name, "Indigo?"

NOTE: The Luna Aurora didn't speak, she is mute so she uses sign language to communicate with people. She can hear and understand what everyone is saying, she can also read their lips but she can't utter a single word.

Aurora's POV

My heart sank seeing the position they were locked in, my husband Elijah and my sister Indigo were locked in an intimate embrace.

Indigo was sitting on the desk, her legs wrapped around Elijah's waist and they were both naked.

"I finally get to have you in the room alone," It sounded like torture hearing Indigo moan out those words.

"I have missed you," I clenched my fist so hard.

Indigo's eyes met mine or maybe it was just my imagination, she smiled, "I love you," she kissed him on the lips.

My personal bodyguard, Scott, also Elena's mate, closed the door, "Luna, I think it's time to welcome the guest."

"Are you aware of this?" I asked angrily and he ignored me, he knew. Scott knew about the affair of my husband with my sister. How could he not tell me?

"Do you also think I'm a joke?" Tears rolled down my eyes.

"I just wanted to protect you, I'm sorry," Scott apologized, I didn't want to listen to anything so I ran away.

"Just let her be," I heard Elena say.

I ran to the back of the house where I knew no one would be, I sat on the floor and buried my head in my hand.

What wrong did I ever do? Where did I ever go wrong? I knew he didn't love me but my sister? They both went too far or maybe he manipulated her, Indigo isn't like that, she would never betray my trust.

I shouldn't jump into conclusion like that, I should confront him, I must have seen wrong.

I stood up and wiped my eyes, I was about to go inside when I heard an animal whimper, I looked around and saw an injured dog.

I gently picked it up, "It must have been caught in a trap," I said in my head after accessing the dog.

Let's fix it, I touched the dog's leg and it began to heal. I let the dog go after I had healed his leg but I became a little weak.

"Are you okay?" Someone asked and held me as I was about to fall. Did he see what I just did?

I nodded my head because I couldn't answer. He looked familiar but I couldn't recall where I had seen him.

The man was handsome, he was so tall and well built, he had beautiful emerald eyes, I got a little lost staring at his eyes.

"What are you doing out here?" The man dropped his cigar on the floor and stepped on it.

"Luna!!" Elena ran to where I was.

I turned to her, feeling thankful that she came here, "Tell him, I'm okay and this is my house, also tell him, he should go inside and he isn't allowed in this area."

Elena turned to him, to my surprise, she smiled at him and bowed her head in respect, "Lycan King, I'm sorry, this is Alpha Elijah's Luna."

Oh my gosh, he is the Lycan King and I didn't even know, no wonder his presence had some type of Aura.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know who she was, I shouldn't have asked any questions," The Lycan King waved at me and I smiled in response.

"You are such a beautiful young woman and congratulations on your wedding anniversary," I smiled at him.

"Lycan, it's time to go inside," one of the Lycan King's guards said. The Lycan King smiled at me before leaving with his guard.

"Are you okay?" Elena asked and I forced a smile on my face.

I wasn't okay, I was dying inside and I wished this would be over soon.

"What did he say?" Elena asked, "He is so handsome, his wife would be so happy knowing she is bringing such a trophy home," Elena fangirled over him.

I hit her on the hand playfully, "He didn't say anything and what makes him special? I believe he is just like others."

"My lady, that's what you think," Elena rolled her eyes and held my hand, " Let's go inside, Alpha Elijah sent for you."

I nodded my head and followed her inside. I had mixed feelings about what I saw earlier but I just needed to pretend.

"I hope you are treating my daughter well?" That was the question I met Father asking Elijah.

With a smile on his face, he lied proudly, "Yes, she likes it here."

"Thank you for giving her the care, I couldn't give her," Father smiled and left with stepmother and I saw Elijah roll his eyes.

Elijah was about to leave when I held his hand, "Let's talk."

"What the fuck are you saying? Call an interpreter or something," Elijah yelled in a whisper. I closed my eyes for a moment.

"She wants to talk to you," Scott said from behind me.

"What does she want? The Lycan King is at this event and I want to go and greet him so make it snappy," Elijah said impatiently.

"Why did you do it? Why with my sister? Why in your room? Why did you get caught?" I asked angrily while trying to control my tears.

"Luna Aurora wants to know why you were sleeping with her sister in your bedroom," Scott said and Elijah burst into laughter making people's attention turn to us.

"What gives her the right to ask me that question?" Elijah asked, "Didn't I try staying with dumb for the past five years?"

"Were you doing me a favor? Did I ask you to marry me?" I asked angrily as the tears I was trying to hold fell off my eyes.

"Did I force you to marry me? Does being dumb mean you should maltreat me?" Elena only interpreted one part and said whatever she liked.

"You know what? I'm fucking tired of this madness, can't you see I don't love you? Can't you see marrying you was to secure my position as an Alpha, why do you keep whining?

I secure my position as a powerful Alpha despite you being useless to me and you also got respect as the Luna, no one dares bully you, so what else do you want?" Alpha Elijah's words cut through my chest like a sharp blade.

Elena looked at me and I shook my head, I couldn't even think of what to say, my head went blank as I stared in disbelief.

Elena clenched her fist and said, "So you used me for your selfish means but at least you should have treated me right, not fuck my sister on our matrimonial bed!!"

Who is Alpha Elijah's mate?

He was having an affair with his wife's sister?

That's terrible, she was already dumb, I wonder what she will be going through?

What did she think, that a man such as Alpha Elijah would stick with her for life?

Will he denounce her as his mate?

What will happen now?

Did he mark the mute or the sister as his mate?"

I began to feel anxious as those whispers were flying around the room. Please make it stop, please.

"Look Aurora, you are weak, you are a useless mute, I don't love you and I don't think I can ever love you as I already love someone else so it's best I free you today," Elijah said and I shook my head furiously.

No, no, no, he can't do that.

"Listen, I will pretend as if it didn't happen, I won't question you about it again, I will not Interfere," I said. I waited for Elena or Scott to interpret it but they didn't.

I touched Elena as tears rolled down my eyes, "Why aren't you saying anything?" I touched Scott, "Why aren't you telling Elijah what I said?"

No one was listening to me, no one was and I felt helpless that I couldn't even help myself out.

Elijah stared at me with indifference, he has never looked at me with love but today was worse than ever,

"I, Alpha Elijah of the blood moon pack, declare before everyone here that I no longer recognize Aurora as my Luna, my mate and my wife, you are no longer my concern," His every tone dropped with poisonous Vernon and I could feel each drop burn me.

I shut my eyes tight as a lone tear rolled down my face, I knew he didn't love me but now I finally got the message loud and clear.

Aurora's POV

My world crashed before my eyes, I was angry, I was sad yet I couldn't do anything about it, I couldn't even express myself.

"She has to return to her pack,

Will she be accepted?

I don't think Alpha Elijah marked her as his mate,

What will she do now?

Will she be bullied again?

Who will accept her now?

Even if someone was going to accept her, it would be someone of a lower rank or someone who doesn't have a status,

Her family will definitely have a lot to spend,

She might be alone forever,

Or she might end up being a mute mistress,

What will happen to her now?"

I shut my eyes tight as I could hear these whispers loud and clear. I couldn't dare look into their eyes, I could feel them judging me.

I laughed within myself, I should be the one rejecting him in front of everyone but he was doing it, my life was a fucking joke.

I walked to meet Indigo, "Please, save me, please."

Indigo looked at me with indifference, this was the first time she looked at me this way, she had always had nothing but love for me but today was different.

"Aurora, I can't help you, I'm not the one cheating on you, it's your husband Alpha Elijah who is cheating," Indigo hugged me, "Just the way your Mother destroyed my mother's marriage, that's just the way I will destroy yours."

I pulled away from the hug and stared at her in disbelief. Did she pretend to like me all these time? All to make me suffer for what our parents did? How could she? I trusted her.

"I guess the party's over, I will be taking my leave," The Lycan King said. The moment he stepped out of the ballroom, people followed him and the room became empty.

"You bastard, how could you, why did you do that? I curse you Elijah," I asked angrily.

"What is she saying?" Elijah yelled.

To my surprise Elena slapped him across the face, "You bastard, have you gone mad!!!" Elijah yelled as his face turned red.

Elena went on her knees and bowed before Elijah, "Alpha Elijah, I'm sorry, I deserved to be hanged for it but my lady asked me to slap you," Elena pretended to cry at Elijah's feet.

Elijah closed his eyes trying to control his anger, "Aurora, you and your minions have twenty minutes to get out of my house, I'm going to step out and when I get back, there shouldn't be any trace of you."

I sat in my room emotionless, my brain was on total shut down as I watched Elena pack my things into my box.

"Are you okay?" I nodded my head. I wanted to cry but I couldn't cry.

"Let's go," Scott said, he helped Elena carry my things to the carriage and I followed them.

I was scared, I didn't want to return to my house, Father was barely around and this could only mean I will stay with his family and they would make my life miserable. I also didn't want to return to the diamond pack. My parents may accept me into their home but will the pack accept me back?

"Lady Aurora is here!!!" The guard announced as I entered the house. The servant at home helped me carry my things from the carriage to my room.

"Look who has disgraced our pack and is finally back," My stepmother clapped her hands, "It was difficult getting you married to such a person of high rank and you spoiled it all."

"Let my daughter rest, she just came back home for the first time since she got married," Father smiled. I searched his eyes and there was no sign of disappointment.

"Thank you," I smiled at Father.

"Remember, you are my daughter and nobody else matters in this world," Father replied in sign language and it brought joy to my heart.

"Yes, you should rest, it would be impossible to arrange your marriage to someone of higher rank so we will settle for a non ranked," My stepmother hissed. I was already disgusted by her being near me.

"I should go upstairs and rest," I informed Father. Stepmother didn't understand what we were saying as she never wanted to learn sign language.

I went up to my room and shut the world out. I didn't want any disturbance. Night turned into day, day turned into days, then weeks.

I thought it would get better but nothing, I was worse than ever, I didn't like going out, stepmother has been making it difficult for me anytime the suitors she brings home reject me.

"My lady, it's time for your lunch," Elena said as she knocked gently on my door.

I ignored her and continued reading the book Father had given to me from one of his travels.

"My lady, you skipped your meal yesterday and this morning so please eat something today," Elena knocked again.

"My child, you have to eat so you can go to the market, a new fabric is out and I have asked the modistes to keep some for you," I ran and opened the door when I heard Father's voice.

"Father, what kind of fabric is it?" I asked excitedly.

"Eat first then you and Elena would go and see the fabric," I smiled and nodded my head. I wasn't hungry but I forced myself to eat something so I could go to the market.

"A suitor would come today, his family have agreed to marry Aurora, he is the last son of Omega Nickolas, his name is David and he is kind of slow, he also has hearing issues," Stepmother said and I dropped my fork.

This was part of the reason why I didn't like coming down for my meal, because my stepmother would always say something crazy.

"Their world is going to be so quiet for both of them," Indigo laughed as she passed the dining room to her room.

"I will get snacks at the market, let's go to the modistes and Father, I don't need the carriages today," I stood up.

"It's your favourite colour," Father said in sign language and I nodded my head and left without saying goodbye to stepmother.

"Wait here, let me get the snacks," Elena said, leaving me at the corner of the market, where there was barely anyone and I nodded my head even though she had already left.

"Isn't that the mute?" My wolf heard someone say from a far distance.

Not now, please wolf, don't pick up any sound, please.

"I hate her so much," Someone said.

"Me too, she won't even be able to speak, how about we teach her a lesson?" Another said and they burst into laughter.

My legs began to shake as I heard their footsteps approaching, oh my heavens, where was Elena now?

"Hi dummy," one of them pushed my head.

"What's the use of greeting her? She can't speak," One of them said and they all laughed.

"This is going to be fun," One of them said and they began to transform into their wolves form one by one.

I moved back out of fear, I doubt they would understand anything I tried to say.

"Move," I heard someone say.

Huh? Whose voice was that? I looked around and it was weird because I heard it in my head. That was telepathy, it could only happen between mates but I was mateless.

One of the wolves ran to attack me, "I said move!!" The voice yelled and I moved, just then a branch fell and injured the wolf.

I looked around and saw Elena wasn't anywhere near and I couldn't even tell who the owner of the voice was.

"Let's run, else we would get killed," My wolf said and without any warning, she transformed and started running while the other wolves were running to attack us.
