Daisy's POV::
"Hurry up, slave. You still have a lot to clean around here." Twenty-five years old, Anna, my step sister slurred as she poured wine on the white tiled floor I'd just scrubbed.
With a smirk on her face, she gave her friends a high five.
"I wonder what the Alpha would say if he finds you standing there instead of doing your job."
"I already scrubbed that floor, Anna," I mumbled, my hands getting numb from all the scrubbing I've been doing since morning.
She took a few steps closer. "What did you say?"
Silence. I knew what it would cost me if I said a word. So i did what I knew how to do best. Keep quiet.
"I'm sorry."
But Anna was already bored and needed to teach me my place. "Incase you have forgotten. Alpha Aaren is the only reason you're still alive, let alone live in the palace. Left to me, I'd let the guards eat you for dinner, you wench!" She grabbed a handful of my hair, yanking it backward so I could look her in the face.
"Why don't you talk back now, uh? Are you suddenly mute? Oh, your good for nothing mother didn't tell us you were born deaf," her friends giggled, and she smirked as if pleased with her jokes. "I forgot. She died before she could tell me. What a weak ass woman. Just like her daughter."
I couldn't control the tears that followed. Hot, painful tears that rolled down my cheeks as I was ridiculed.
It's not like I opted to be a slave but fate led me here. My parents had died in the great war, leading us to migrate to the city to hide when I was just two. Life hasn't been great since then. I was the youngest of all five children, the only child of my mother, while the other four belonged to Ma Sydney, my stepmother.
They were all the same. Treating me like I was a slave and reminding me often that my being in the palace was a privilege.
To make matters worse, I didn't have a wolf. Or at least I did and just didn't know how to transform. Either way, I was weak and alone. Today was my birthday and I'd be turnimg twenty two but who cares. Not my siblings who thought I was a waste since I haven't had a mate as well. I wasn't planning on celebrating it as well. I never did.
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!" I turned around to see who was singing in a whisper. "Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you!"
It was Lena, my only friend who was a slave in the palace as well. She was the only one who ever showed me kindness, and I reciprocated this act also any chance I get. Now, here she was holding a muffin with a tiny bone dug in it and wishing me a happy birthday.
"What is happy about today, Lena?" I sniffled and continued scrubbing.
Lena rushed over and dropped the muffin before me.
"Everything, Daisy. Everything. Sometimes, we have to create our own happiness in the midst of all our problems. It could be worse."
I gritted my teeth, frustrated about how Lena couldn't understand. She could never. "Not while I'm here rotting away! It's different for you, Lena. You're here at will. Not forced into slavery like me."
Her face fell, and I knew then that I'd hurt her with my words. But before I could speak any further, she rose abruptly.
"Just so you know, no one ever wishes be a slave at will." She mumbled and stormed off.
I sighed. I am so miserable that I can't even keep a friend.
Nighttime came, and I was serving the royal family at the table. I was weak and exhausted, but I wouldn't dare show it on my face. I had to put my chin up and serve them.
"I heard from neighboring packs while I was out walking that the Lycans are closing in." Ma Sydney started to say, her bold red lips twitching to a side. "I had a vision last night."
Everyone raised their heads. Everyone in BloodMoon knew Sydney's visions were never missed. That was her unique gift.
Aaren spoke first. "What did you see, mother?"
"The devil. I can see him walking into this place..."
Anna scoffed and murmured. "He sure wants to die if he tries that."
"If you love yourself and this palace, you'll shut the hell up and listen," Aaren snapped, his fork dropping on the floor.
I quickly moved over and grabbed the fork before giving him another one. I bowed and went back to my corner. Watching, listening. Wanting to know every little details about this new information.
Sydney continued to speak. "He will come here and try to bargain. Give him whatever he asks. Or we will have ourselves to blame."
Who could this person be? How cruel can he be for Ma Sydney to refer to him as the devil? Why are they all so afraid of him despite the power we hold? I asked myself these questions but knew better than to blurt them out.
"That bastard! The nerve he has to even plan to come here after killing our father and sending us out of our territory!"
Oh! So, that's who they are talking about. The one who killed my father and mother during the war and led us here into hiding. This means he already knows where we are hiding.
I couldn't listen to anything else they were saying as I was too overwhelmed by this information. If he's coming here, why don't we prepare to fight him? Why should we stroke his ego and give him what he wants? I haven't met him, but I hated his guts. I hated him to the core and wished I could dig my fingers through his throat if I had a wolf.
These thoughts clouded my mind and made me toss and turn before finally sleeping off.
"He's here! He's here! everyone wake up. Alpha Aiden of Synx is here! Wake up, everybody!"
The loud gong stirred me from my deep sleep and out of fear, I rushed to wear my work clothes before running outside. I thought it must be early morning if the gong is being beaten.
To my surprise, the clock said twelve midnight, and the sky was still dark. I scowled at the gong beater.
"Why are you beating the gong so early? Don't you know you're disturbing the peace of everyone here!?" I snapped, but his expression remained shocked as his eyes grew wider. But I was too sleepy and too pissed to see. "Don't be childish. You know very well what you're doing is stupid. And I don't care whoever the fuck arrived, you have to learn how to announce his arrival some other way."
"B...b...but," he pointed an index finger.
"What? Like I said, I don't care who it is. Learn to respect that people are asleep. If he can't respect that, then he is a bigger asshole than you are."
"Did you just call me an asshole?"
I jumped and turned around to face a huge man whose body is no different from a wall. He was tall and heavily built like a man perfectly moulded for war. He was dressed in a warrior's attire, his hair fell over his shoulders and forehead, making me want to part them with my fingers. But he was way taller and it would take more than going on my toes to reach.
His dark eyes his behind hooded eyelids and adorned with beautiful long lashes. He had frown lines between his full brows and his nose could breathe fire as they were carved like a Greek god's. His lips were full and plump, thinning in anger as she stared up at him.
"Aren't you a slave? Why are your eyes meeting mine?"
Rude. I thought as I tore my eyes away from this beautiful human.
"Alpha Aiden! Welcome to our humble abode." Aaren's voice thankfully interrupted. "Kindly forgive our slave. She's unfortunately not the brightest as you can see. Come on in, let us make you feel welcomed."
But he lingered for a second or so. Watching me keenly with interest as thought he was a hawk and I was his prey. My eyes didn't leave the ground until he was gone. That's when I realized I'd been holding my breath.
By the time I'd lift my head, I saw Lena standing across the garden. She had heard the gong too.
I tried to wave at her but the moment she saw me, her expression became rigid. I folded my hand and dropped it to my side.
Perhaps, I'd lost the only person capable of loving me just like I lost my parents. Speak of the devil, I entered into the palace through the back door to watch the scene unfold.
As he entered through the main entrance, his presence commanding authority, everyone became tensed. The air was so thick it could only be pierced through with a knife. Even my stepbrother, whom I grew up to see as fearless, could barely hold eye contact with him.
He was tall, muscular, and in every manner masculine. His body told tales of every war he's fought, and I couldn't deny, despite his ruggedness, spoken of cruelty and how our worlds were apart, something within me got excited.
They started discussing, first, the war and how it had impacted so many people's lives. It irked me so much seeing my brother praise the same man who killed our father and my mother.
"Your skill and might is a story we might tell for generations to come. You are indeed a hero to our kind." He'd say.
Alpha Aiden didn't seem impressed as his grim expression didn't for once falter. Instead, he leaned forward, his dark gaze holding everyone captive.
"I haven't come for chit-chat. I have come to ask what you guys have to offer in exchange for your lives," he raised a hand. "For many years, you ran and hid from my wrath while I watched from afar, hoping you'd come to your senses and come to me. Hoping you'd offer gifts of thanks to me for sparing your lives. I knew where you hid, I just watched."
Aaren visibly shook and his sisters squirmed behind their mates. His words held threats and spoke of doom. I wonder how anyone could be so cruel. How anyone could look down on others as though they are worthless to him.
"Wh...what do you want, your highness."
I wanted to listen, to know what he wanted and maybe stand up to him if he said the wrong thing. All to prove to my family that I wasn't worthless.
"I, Alpha Aiden of the most powerful Lycan pack, claim your sister to be my slave in exchange for peace."
Anna and her sisters had started wailing, their mates clinging to them for dear life. But I knew he wasn't talking about them.
He was talking about me. His eyes roved over me like I was some kind of product. I wanted to move closer and choke him to death but my legs were frozen. There is no way in hell my family would let me go with a demon like this man. I almost slapped him but my brother's words stopped me in my track when he said the word that torn my world apart.
"You may have her."
"You may have her" my stepbrother said with no remorse in his eyes or his voice. He's willing to let go of me to a man who is nothing but a devilish intimidating alpha.
The tears I never knew welled my eyes dropped down to my cheek as I turned to look at my stepbrother.
"w...what?" I choke in whisper.
" You may have her" my brother said again, this time louder to the hearing of everyone gathered in the hall.
Aiden's POV::
I kept pounding my cock into her warm pussy, my orgasm threatening to throw me off the edge. I knew the woman beneath me was new, and she wasn't used to how rough I love sex with women. But I didn't care. I never did. She is nothing but a slave, one that has been assigned to warm my bed and satisfy me.
Her loud moans and groans filled the entire room, ringing out to the hearing of the waiting slaves outside my bedroom door, I don't care if they could hear our sounds of pleasure, or her cries as she receive every long and hard thrust from me, not t while her pussy clamped around me and my dick throbbed to climax as I pulled out fast enough to release my warm cum all over her back.
A sense of peace and calm enveloped me. My breathing came out ragged and the woman I had been fucking rushed out of my room, limping. I smirked. She would be telling tales of this encounter for the next few days to the others who are waiting to take their turns.
A knock sounded on the door while I was putting on my pants.
"Come in." I said before sitting on the edge of the bed.
A tall, lanky man emerged at the entrance, his small glasses topping his nose bridge. His demeanor could fool anyone, true. But what he really is can be deadly to whoever crosses him. He is also many years older, just like him, but he is more the brains behind his leadership while he is the force.
"What brings you here, Wikh?" I asked, wiping away my sweat with a napkin.
He bowed slightly. "Your highness, I have been watching the BloodMoons for years, and it seems they have bloomed. More than they did twenty years ago before we attacked."
I paused what I was doing and leaned forward, elbows resting on my knees as I clenched my fists.
"Go on."
"Their Alpha is the late Alpha Derek's first son. They have a strong wall of security, and if we go in forcefully, we'd alert the rest of the pack."
I glared at him. "Why are we afraid of alerting the other packs?"
Wikh had a small smile, lifting the corner of his lips. He knew I was never afraid. I fight before I think which he'd been trying to stop.
"It's not fear, your highness. They will go into hiding. Getting better this time around. Remember, it took us more than a decade to find the BloodMoons." He explained and took a step forward.
"I have a plan. We should get inside peacefully, almost as if we're coming to visit. That way, they can't alert anybody before we get in."
I nodded and agreed, although I always hated the idea of hide and seek. I sent him off to keep preparing for our trip to the BloodMoon pack.
It was a tiring journey driving over to the heart of the city that was many miles away from the end of the town where my pack was situated. But I knew what I had in mind, and I wasn't going to back down until I destroyed the BloodMoon royal family. Even better, the whole pack members.
Wikh sat beside the driver, his eyes looking everywhere, scanning for trouble. He was good at that. Despite his skeamish personality, Wikh was good at so many things. Except for copping women. His beta sucked at that.
Now, he dressed up in a black shiny Italian suit and leather shoes, looking like he worked in a firm. He clung an empty briefcase to himself.
When we got to the gate, I remained in the backseat, watching Wikh distract the guards while I went through the back gate. Wikh had barely entered when a man ran over to a large gong and began to beat it.
I was already in, so it was too late to alert anybody.
That's when I saw her walking into the hall slowly, tall, slim, and frail, her black hair bobbed as she spoke with the fierceness of a lioness.
"Asshole." Her mouth moved too fast, and she spoke without being aware of the consequences. I didn't like that at all.
No one ever called me an asshole. No one dared. I was sure everyone here knew me, so what gave her the effrontery to say this?
Wikh leaned in. "That is the last child of Derek. The illegitimate child he had with a commoner, I hear."
Something within me growled, jerked, and longed to press my hands against her sharp mouth. Even better, to punish her by slamming my cock into her pretty mouth while she pressed her lovely soft lips around me. I got hard just thinking about it.
"Fuck." I cursed within me, trying to blame it on my wolf being greedy. "She is a fucking slave to them, a child of a commoner."
But my wolf wanted her. To claim her body and teach her to shut the hell up.
So my priorities changed when I was ushered in fully into the huge hall.. I didn't want the riches, the soldiers or the women that Aarem offered to me. I wanted her.
"You may have her." Aaren said faster than he should.
This uncocked a screw in my head. I may be an asshole but I thought letting his sister go so easily was cowardly of him.
"Won't you negotiate?" I found myself asking before I could stop.
"Daisy is as good as dead to us, Alpha Aiden. If she's what you want instead of the gold, the money, lands and soldiers we offered to you, then so be it." A middle aged woman who looked pretty for her age chipped in. From how my wolf picked up her royal scent, I knew she must be their mother.
"And you don't care whatever I do with her?" I asked once again, my pupils dilating.
