Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

Alessia Claw ~

I ran through the woods below the night sky with my heart beating so fast, its way from the danger chasing it. At a point, I was too weak to run any further so I leaned on a tree trunk to enable me catch my breath for a while.

I needed to.

It wasn't up to twenty seconds of gasping for my breath when a hailstorm of flaming arrows accompanied by several howls came crashing down the ground.

I took refuge from the arrows behind the tree and watched as the flaming arrows rained down the sky and pierced their way into the ground. The lycans were the source of the arrows and I was the prime target.

They were gaining on me and I could feel it. I and my unborn child have to flee to a safe haven in these woods so they won't get to us. So he won't get to us. Taking a leap of faith after the hailstorm had ended, I continued my race in the darkness all around the woods.

I couldn't let them get to me.

I won't!

Not again, not after all that I had been through before I took the chance to escape. I wouldn't let them get my child.

Never!

I ran with my eyes and hopes to only one direction in the forest - The Claw' Royal vampyre coven. I was barely a mile away from it. The sights of lights coming forth from the outdoor torches gave me hope that soon, we'll be safe.

Hope.

That was the one thing that I needed so badly at the moment. I stood a while and looked back to the sight of my upcoming foes that were tearing their way in the forest to find me.

They were so close that I could feel the vibrations their movement impacted on the ground. The vibrations began getting more and more pronounced. Vibrations that made me realize that if I did not pick up my pace, I would be in their clutches sooner than later.

I was about a stone throw from the coven's golden gates when my child became due, the contractions began. I could feel my child arriving. In pain, I fell to the ground. This was definitely the wrong timing for child birth. Not when both our lives depends on how safe we are from those mindless lycans.

"Freedderick! Freeedderrriccck!!!" I cried out loudly unable to move any further.

With each contraction, I sensed my breath getting fainter, and fainter.

"Frederick! Help Me!" I cried out with a piercing voice throwing little stones that I could place my hands on to the gate.

My eyelids were getting heavier and heavier with the excruciating pain that I was under making me weaker the more. I tried my best to keep them open and hold on to whatever strength I had but I couldn't. I was far too weak to even keep my focus on them.

The last thing that I saw before going blank was the different packs of lycans running straight for me. It didn't matter to them that I am their queen by virtue of being the mate of the alpha of all alphas, their rightful king.

They must be under the control of 'him' – the man who killed my husband and stole his throne.

Packs of lycans doing 'his' dirty bidding.

The same packs that had sworn allegiance to me as their queen had become the same packs I had tried so hard so I could escape from and had been running away from ever since.

What was going to happen to me and my child?

"Guards!!!"

Getting no immediate response, I submitted gladly to my fate.

Chapter 2 Alessia

Frederick Claw ~

"Claudius, you and your men would storm in through the Northern gates of the castle."

"Henry, get your men ready for the extraction as soon as Claudius and his men have broken in. The mission is to rescue the lycan queen, Alessia out of that castle and taken here safe and unharmed." "I believe the royal family have had their fill of time in those filthy dungeons."

"Gregory, I hope you have those potions ready because we are going to need them in getting rid of the army of lycan packs that would be after us, the instant we get the queen off their hands."

"Sofia and Morgana, all you ladies have to do is to ensure the queen's medical safety. As we all know, the queen is pregnant with the next –rightful- heir to the lycan throne. It is your duty to make sure that she remains in good health and has a safe and appropriate delivery if ever the situation comes into being."

"Ladies and gentlemen, its time!" I said in conclusion as I projected my sword to the air.

Not less than three moons ago, the royal palace of the lycan king and queen got infiltrated by traitors and after a bloody massacre of both vampyres and lycans, and witches and warlocks alike, King Leonard, the lycan king was killed and his pregnant queen was held captive by the mastermind.

The being that was behind it all was still unknown to any of us. All we, the remaining survivors of the impact on the night that the lycan king was killed, who are allies to the fallen throne have to ourselves be the location where the beloved queen is.

After three moons of searching we have finally found her and nothing is going to stop us from rescuing her and bring her back home. She and her unborn child, according to the prophecy, may just be the key in recovering back their kingdom so, we attack tonight.

"...King Frederick, our forest scanners just picked up a whole lot of lycans possibly an army, and they are coming straight to us." said Edward running into the courtroom.

Edward is the chief surveillance around here. No one gets in or out of this coven and this forest without his knowledge and my approval. For several decades and centuries, he has kept this coven together and prepared for any impending danger.

Thanks to him, any threat would usually be eliminated before it makes its way in to the final circle of the forest, where we occupied. He was basically our eyes and ears around this forest.

"What do you mean by that? Those beasts haven't set foot in our lands ever since the queen was taken so why would they now???" asked Claudius grinding his teeth in anger.

"Calm yourself, Claudius!" I said when I noticed that his fangs happened to be taking shape already. "Ed, what's happening in my forest?" I asked with full authority placed on my words and my countenance.

"A lycan army is marching or should I say running straight for us. They seem to be in pursuit of something... or no... Someone." Edward said displaying in a screen the target whom the lycans were after.

"I don't mean to impede my lord but at the rate whosoever they are after is moving at, they'll catch up to him or she very soon and it looks like our little fellow is almost within our range." Edward added zooming wider into the screen.

"Pause the image and zoom it closer!" I said wanting to know who the person that was bringing an army of lycans down my gates.

Right now, we all are supposed to be on our way to rescue the queen but with those lycans running through our woods with an unknown intention, we could lose a great number of warriors before we make it to her.

I want to know who is worth an army of lycans and who is acting as a hurdle to my plans.

"Closer!!" I said realizing that the person, whoever it was, was a female with a child. "Zoom it a lot more closely!!! I want to be able to see her perfectly!" I added making Edward to zoom the image to the last ratio.

"THE QUEEN!!!" I roared in shock and amazement.

"It is Alessia!"

"My Lord, it's the queen. It's Alessia!" called out Morgana almost consecutively with me.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it turns out our esteemed lycan queen has made her escape from the castle and is now making her way here." "We have to give her zenith protection. We have to keep her safe from those traitors who desire her life. I lost my sister to those monsters once, there's no way that I'm losing her again. Not now. Not ever." I said stumping my first on the round table in anger.

I found it hard to believe what my eyes were showing to me. I looked too good to be true but then again, what else should I expect from Alessia, one of the fiercest women I know? She was always the clever and stronger one amongst us both until she fell in love and got married to the lycan king.

My sister, Alessia always proved to be quite full of surprises.

"If that is the queen...." began Gregory right before I cut him short.

"... That means she has roughly, no chance of survival. We have to get her out of those woods before those lycans get their claws on her." I said with a closed fist. "Get the troops! Ready the silver bombs! Make way for the warlocks! We are going to save the queen! We are going to save my sister." I added letting the pupils of my eyes go blue, my fangs become prominent and watched my fingernails elongate.

Within a few seconds, I was fully transformed into a vampyre and ready to take down those ravaging hairy monsters. My sister was almost there. I am going to make those lycans regret ever setting eyes on her. I'll rip their skulls out of their bodies and crush it to pieces.

"Edward, stay here and keep me posted!" I said as I took my hand into my sheath and brought out my silver sword. "She is out there! I can feel her!!" I added raising my sword and charging straight for the coven gates with supernatural speed.

I and the rest of my vampyre coven filed out with our silver swords and arrows, and all that we needed to take those beasts down if ever they refuse to leave my lands without making a fuss.

Right now, the once peace that my father and the past lycan king made is being threatened. Lycans and vampyres, we are at the verge of starting the 10,000-year war all over again just because of the monster who killed Leonard and took his mate hostage. If there's one thing I know, whoever is behind all that is surely going to pay!

Dearly!

I'm going to make sure I kill him.

The gates came out of their bars and an appalling spectacle met my eyes. I saw Alessia laid on the ground with a trail of her own blood slowly making its way all around her. My first thought was in fear, fear that she was gone.

That Alessia was gone. Realizing that she was with a special child, I knew that there was hope.

"Alessia! Stay with me!" I exclaimed running to my sister and placing her in my arms.

I placed my hands on her neck and then on her chest. There was still some life in her and I could feel it, through our bond as siblings.

"My Lord!!" exclaimed Claudius running right in front of me and splitting a flaming arrow that was heading towards me in two with his sword. "We have company." Claudius added taking a bow and a couple of arrows from a vampyre then took a shot at some faraway lycans.

"Lycans!!"

Chapter 3 GET OUT OF MY FOREST!!

Chapter 2

Frederick Claw ~

"Sofia, Morgana, get her inside." I said stroking Alessia's white hair. "Save her! Save my sister!" I added splitting two more arrows aimed at Alessia in half.

"My Lord, we shall do all that we can." "I promise you." said Morgana taking Alessia from my blood stained hands and into hers mumbling some words as she made her way back into the coven.

The coven gates went solid shut behind her. I looked all around and found all the troops to be in position. The archers were in formation and the swordsmen were all ready to protect our coven and the queen.

Funny enough, the lycan queen was being protected by my vampire warriors. Odd, isn't it?

The lycans charged to the coven but with a single howl which I presumed to be some sort of signal, they all stopped in their tracks, still in their lycan appearances.

"Let's get straight to the point, your majesty! You know what we came here for so bring her and the unborn child out, hand them over to us and we would be on our jolly way." said the first who appeared to be the chief spokesman of the trio.

"I have told you and whoever that you're working for and I'll tell you again. I am the ruler of these woods, if you didn't get an invite from me, get the fuck outta my lands. I advise you leave now while you still can." I said giving the trio a good prospect of my blood-thirsty fangs.

"That is unacceptable. You are the son of Alaric, the deceased vampire lord and so matters of the lycans have no business with you. Give us Alessia and I give you my word, we all shall run away just as we came without anyone getting hurt or having to heal." said the third using his hands to display the entire army of lycans surrounding him.

"Failure to comply by getting out of my way and bringing her forth would result to... Well, I don't need to give you in detail what happens." added the third as his arm transformed and after a few seconds turned human again.

"I'll give you ten seconds to get your men turn around and head out of this forest and off the backs of the royal family or else, same applies to your lycans." I said exhibiting a clear image of my fangs.

"So sad that we couldn't meet to an understanding." said the first before he changed to his lycan form supported by the next two and in the blink of an eye, all the lycans were in unison.

"Kill them all and bring Alessia to me!!!" said the first and the fight began.

"Archers, take your aim!" I said as the charging lycans made way for us. "Hold!! Hold!! Hold! FIRE!!!"

The archers released their first batch of flaming silver arrows and in seconds, lycans who had contact with it fell to their deaths. They were getting closer and closer. It seemed like the shower of silver arrows didn't make much of a difference in the population of Lycans who were living.

"Chhaarrge!!!" I roared.

Immediately, the entire coven of vampyres charged towards the lycans. My initial intentions were to send them out of the forest but now, sending them to the great beyond sounds more interesting.

The warlocks started their thing; bringing out enchanted orbs and throwing them into the various areas where lycans were prominent. With the proclamation of certain magical words, they exploded releasing a thick cloud of silver.

Many of which died as the silver dust made its way up their noses and into their body. The swordsmen weren't left out of the fight as they slashed and ran through every being with an extremely hairy physique all around the premises of the coven and then into the inner forests.

The archers continued launching their silver arrows into the air. Everyone was doing the needful to make sure we win this fight and get them off Alessia's back. I as their king acted as the overall leader in the bloody exchange of scars and deaths.

"Take your injured and go. I can still let you walk out of here with your lives and I intend to, if you just surrender and live!" I said to the hearing of their spokesman.

Not that I was expecting a change of heart or anything but I didn't feel so comfortable anymore fighting the lycans who had been our ally for thousands of years plus now that my sister, Alessia is their queen, I am in a way, killing her people although it's for a just cause.

For one thing, whoever was leading them must be a very big coward for not being here himself and for another, whoever the person is, he must be heartless and rotten to the core for wanting to bring harm on an unborn child and her mother.

"Brothers, the young king thinks that he can scare us away with a few arrows made of silver and some awful magic done by his amateur warlocks not to mention those clowns that parades themselves as swordsmen." "We came for the lady Alessia and by the goddess' decree, we won't leave without her." said the spokesperson sinking his claws into a swordsman and ripping out his gullet.

Time passed by like the droplets of rain and soon we were on the advantage side. I began to feel some pity for the lycans who were slaughtered mercilessly.

They were just following orders. It was becoming more and more evident that we were on the advantage side and the lycans, if they don't surrender, a massacre would be all that they get. I was determined to save Alessia and that determination fueled my spirit with so much power. I continued using supernatural speed to kill lycans down to the last forties who we got surrounded.

"Now, the offer is off. It's now a repeated command. GET OUT OF MY FOREST!" I shouted sticking my sword into the chest of a lycan, watched as he groaned in pain and eventually died.

The vampire army under me where at my behest to kill these beasts or let them live.

"We've won! You'll never get those filthy hands of yours ever on my Alessia. Not again!" I added erupting my sword out of the corpse of the dead lycan.

"Ha! Ha! Ha! In your dreams Frederick. In your dreams. Who said that we ever lose?" said the spokesman who surprisingly by now was still alive and not ran through by my sword. "Alessia is coming out with us!" he added dropping his hand into a parchment located by his waist and pulled out a bottle containing a liquid that most likely seemed to be blood.

"You can't stop Lord Cassius from getting the child. No one can! Not even the goddess herself!" said the spokesman before taking in the contents of the bottled-liquid and letting out a dreadful roar.

"What the hell???"
