The Light In The Dark

I am Emily, daughter of the richest man in the city. Happy, cheerful and the apple of my parent's eye. I am a little girl, 8 years old, beautiful, intelligent and rich.

Everyone Envy me because my parents treat me like a princess and I also think that I am the luckiest child in the whole world.

My father, Adam Smith is a very intelligent man, very good in business and a very good dad.

My mum, Lily Smith is a famous designer. She is a very independent and tough woman. Always ready for every fight in her life but she is the best mom.

My mom and dad love each other and support each other in their work. Also, same as my parents, I am a very intelligent and smart child. It's because of good genes. I love designing and business just like them. And honestly, I am good in it. Sometimes my dad also needs my suggestion in his work. Seriously it's funny I am just only 8 years old dad. How can I give my suggestions?

I am very much happy it's my 9 birthday and my parents throw a surprise party for me.

Of course, I know they always did that but this time my parents were very excited to give me the biggest surprise of my life. And I know what it is I am gonna become an elder sister. Hurray! I always want one sibling so that I can also be the elder one and boss around on my little one.

The night is dark and it's raining outside I am in my room waiting when my parents came to take me to the party venue so that I can also see my decorated place. But what the heck nobody came up to take me.

"Hey! Are my parents downstairs or not?"

I called aloud and my Buttler came to me, hurriedly.

I asked him,

"where are my parents? Why don't they came to take me to my party Venue?"

I am very impatient right now. I want to see how this year my parents prepare for my party.

Last year it's was a princess theme and Now I am very excited to know what theme is it today.

'Yey!! I love my parents.'

Hearing my questions, my Buttler said, "don't worry miss they will just reach in 2 minutes."

"Okay, then I wait."

My parents arrived because I heard the sound of a car horn and I jump off my bed to meet them, barefooted.

"Daddy Mumma you are back".

Daddy said, "yes sweetie we are back".

When my dad saw my feet. He starts scolding me, "Sweety I always told you to wear slippers don't run around barefooted. You will catch a cold".

"Honey don't scold her it's her birthday."

"Come on birthday girl go to your room and change your clothes we have to go to your party", Mumma said.

"Yes Mumma I will go up and change then we will go to the party", I said happily and run fast to change my clothes, when I came we happily sit in the car and move to my destination, my birthday venue.

'Yay! I am so much excited.'

But my happiness does not last for so long. After some time of driving, I heard a loud bang.

Ahhhhhhh!!!!

That truck hit our car. And in the next second my head started buzzing and darkness take my eyes away from my consciousness.

But at last, I saw my parents both are covered in blood. My tears started flowing.

"Mom dad please be alright!"

Later saying these last words, I fainted.

When I wake up I found I am in a hospital. White ceiling, white sheet and hospital gown. Then I realised this was not just my dream, it's real.

I shouted, "Mom Dad" and run into the hospital like crazy in search of them. Nurse and other hospitals staff trying hard to control me and calm me down.

The doctor injected the injection and again I lose consciousness and fell into a deep sleep. It's was a nightmare, a bloody nightmare to me. I was in shock. How could it happen?

For the whole two days, I am in a coma. In my mind, there is only one picture of a deadly accident and the persons with blood.

When I wake up after my coma I saw my Buttler is here and I ask my Buttler Steven in my weak light voice,

"uncle where are my parents? Did they alright? How are they? I want to meet them. Please take me to my parents".

Steven sigh, and said, "they are dead miss".

"What?"

I said aloud.

How could it happen? No that's not true. Tell me uncle that's not true. I was crying my heart out. How? Why? How could it happen? These all questions are in my mind at that time.

"No that's not true. I am sure they are alive," I said. And again my Buttler sigh but didn't reply.

This is the incident that makes my life upside down or I say makes my life completely changed.

My parents died. My family broke. And our all property and money are also gone because of the debt of my dad's business.

What I have, nothing! I become an orphan.

They send me to the orphanage because I am not an adult. I can't live independently alone. And I start to live a life like an orphan child. But when I admitted to the orphanage my Buttler gives me a pendant which was my Mumma's last gift to me. I happily wear it and living my life in an orphanage like an orphan child.

After some days, a family came to adopt me I thought they took care of me and become my mom, dad.

But I was wrong, they adopt me for their selfish desire. They want to sell me because I am so beautiful in the whole orphanage as compared to other children. And they want money to satisfy their greed. They want to use me in their business to gain profits and money in exchange for me. That's why I am an investment to them.

At that time, I am just a child so they enrolled my name in school just to get other's praise. I knew it, it's not the right time to sell me, I was just a child. So they starts educating me to get benefits in future.

My life. Why everything becomes like that? Why? Why? I asked myself this question every day.

"Mom Dad. I miss you."

"Hey, bitch Emily, come downstairs", Kylie Brown shouted so loudly at her step daughter. You only know how to eat and sleep can't you work properly. The whole house is in mess and you are sleeping. Come downstairs and make breakfast, hurry."

"Everyone wants to go out and work and this bitch can't even make breakfast, such a freeloader on us".

"You are not a princess come downstairs and work. You bitch,"

Emily Smith stepmom Kylie Brown continued to shout loud.

When Emily came downstairs, Alina Brown slap her so hard then she loses her balance and hit on the ground hard.

Hiss!!! The pain.

Tears are in Emily's eyes. Aline not only slap her but also pull her hair so hard that Emily felt the piercing pain in her body.

"Mom look this slut, she only knows how to seduce a man", Alina Brown said to his mom with a face full of disgust.

"Dear don't be angry, tell mom what this bitch did to you", Kylie said with so loving tone.

"Mom yesterday in the college she trying to seduce Leo Watson and even he asks her to watch a movie with her. She knew that I like him but still she wants to meddle in between my relationship," Kylie said to her mom.

"Mom today don't stop me I will kill this bloody bitch," While saying this Alina started beating Emily hardly.

Emily just lay there and allow Alina to hit her. Because she knew resistance won't work and if she did only she knew what happened in the future.

Emily hisses in pain her whole body cover with bruises. Blood following out of her mouth. And she can't even lay straight.

After seeing this Kylie smile in happiness and stops her daughter.

"Baby don't hit this slut it's a waste of your time and your hands will go dirty. Come on, let Mumma show you your new dress" Kylie said to her daughter.

"Hey, you bitch stand up and make breakfast for us. Don't Only lay on the floor like a dead. You deserve this who told you to snatch my daughter things. My daughter is considerate enough not to kill you. So don't act and make breakfast for us," Kylie said.

Both mother and daughter pair walk towards the hall to chat and enjoy.

'Emily POV'

Emily sighs hard. This is her life like a maid. Her stepmom Kylie Brown never took care of her even beat her on her mistakes. And her step sister Alina Brown always hate her humiliate her, beat her and snatch everything for her. Alina Brown always jealous of her because she is more beautiful and popular in college. Even the teacher praises her for being first in class. Whereas her stepsister is so poor in her studies. The teacher always compares Emily with her which make her more jealous that she wants to kill me whenever she sees me.

I am 20 years now, 11 years completed my life becomes light to dark. Hahaha!!!! I laughed at myself. She is me, the maid. My life completely changes after that accident.

Sigh!!!

I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the two devils of my life. They both eat and went shopping. After completing my house chores. I went up to take bath and went to my college.

I am a very intelligent student and also I like to study because it diverts the attention of my painful past.

I heard a loud sound behind my back. I know who she is, Lisa Green my best friend.

"Why are you shouting Lisa?" I said.

And she started breathing fast because she runs very fast.

"Hey! Why are you shouting and running like an Ostrich?" I said and laughed at her.

This girl is always like this. And this is the best part of her. She is carefree for everything and sometimes it makes me feel jealous of my best friend. Emily thinks and brightly smile at Lisa.

"Tell me why are you shouting my name so loud".

"Hey, girl you top in the class exam again. Congratulations my girl I am feeling so proud of you. You Are the best," she said happily.

"I knew it, it's not a big deal," I said proudly.

"Hey, Emily can't you be so proud and take my appreciation sincerely," Lisa said.

And I laugh. Hiss!!!! The pain.

After hearing my hiss she notice my Injury on my face and gritted her teeth in anger.

"That bastard Brown, how could they did this with you can't they have any humanity left. Such an asshole family. I wanted to kill them if I am capable of it," Lisa said.

"Forget it, Lisa. I am an adult now I will soon leave that house and cancel my adoption custody. Just wait," Emily said to assure Lisa not too sad anymore.

Lisa sigh!

"Emily I can't see you in this much pain. I wish I will do something for you", Lisa said which make Emily's heart warm.

I smile at her. I know her love for me. She is my best friend and also my supporter and courage. I am happy at least I have a friend like her. I know she can't help me she belongs to a middle class family. She can't fight against that Brown and I also don't want to drag her and her family in my matters. It's dangerous if she medals in my matters. That brown can do anything with her and her family. And I can't see Lisa in pain because of me.

"It's okay, Lisa I know," Emily said with a sweet smile. Both entered their classrooms together.

In the same city a man standing in front of a big french window looking outside and eagerly listening to his subordinate report.

"Boss, sorry we didn't find that person," Alex Heartman said which boils the blood of his Boss.

"You useless people, can't you find a young person," his boss said angrily.

Alex knows the atmosphere and bow down and say sorry to his master.

"Boss, we are sorry", He said.

"Sorry, will your sorry is useful for me? Will I find that person by your sorry? Stand up and search again. I want to know the information sooner. This time don't disappoint me", his master said.

"Now, Get out of my sight right now," he said again. Very loudly this time.

His voice makes Alex body severe in cold. Sweat was all over his face. He is shaking badly because of his fear of his boss. His master is the real devil.

Alex gulps hard in fear!! And went out of his office immediately and close the door lightly. He didn't want to makes his master angry. Otherwise, what will happen to him only he knows.

After going out of his office. He takes a deep heavy breath in relief.

His master is an idiot. How can he find a person just by a drawing, even not an original picture? No information nothing else. But my boss wants me to find that person. Is he is crazy? How can I find a person just by this? Can't it unfair to me. But who cares, his Boss can't feel my pain he just wants the information of that person. If I died in this mission he didn't even care.

Hahahahaha!!

It's not a dangerous mission anyway. I didn't die in this mission. But this is dangerous to any other mission. He sighs in deprivation!

"I have to find that person otherwise my boss will kill me", Alex thought and goes to his room and start working on this mission again.

"It's been 2 years since he didn't find that person and his boss makes this whole city upside down just to search for that person. But where is that person?" Alex thought again.

Our all secret people is on working to find that person till then we didn't find that person. And because of this my boss always scolds me again and again.

"Let's work Alex! Cheer yourself up! Don't think anything else. You need to find that person. Otherwise, you are dead meat for sure," Alex said to himself and continued with his searching work.

Inside the cabin the man still standing in front of the French window seeing the outside world. And drinking red wine leisurely. He is Ryan Bond. The richest man in this country and even count as the top man in the world. Every woman wants to be his wife because he is not just rich but also the most handsome and smart man in the whole world. His eyes are deep like the water in the ocean. He is having the most perfect jawline. The perfect creature on this planet. Every woman starting to drool at him when she sees him with her naked eyes. Every woman offers herself in his bed. But he never looks like any one of them, Far away to touch them.

He is not interested in any of those damn women. He is 29 years old richest billionaire.

He also has a great influence in the army even having his army. He is not only the richest but the strongest man in this world.

He having everything but only lack one thing his love.

"Where are you, my girl?" he said to himself and lost in his deep thought till the time his secretary Ama enter and remind him of his meeting.

"Boss, there is a meeting in the conference hall in two minutes. Everyone is waiting for you."

"I know. I will be there in a minute. You go," he said.

And walk past to his chair to take his coat. After wearing it he came out. And entered the elevator.

In the meeting room, everyone is gathered and waiting for his master to take his seat. So that they can start there meeting.

Ryan enters and sits on his chair. Signal Alex to start the meeting and with his approval, the meeting started.

On the other side of the college,

The lecture ends and both Emily and Lisa came out while chatting with each other.

"Hey, this is a so boring lecture. I hate classes. Why we have to take classes?" Lisa said to Emily making a pouty face which makes Emily laugh hardly.

"Hey come on, it's not that boring if you listen to the professor. You just snoring In the class which makes you bore", Emily said while chuckling.

"Hey, you genius can't you feel my pain. Studies are just a pain in an ass" Lisa said angrily.

"Okay okay. I won't laugh okay Miss Snoring," Emily said. And burst into loud laughter.

Hahahahaha!!!

Lisa pouted angrily.

"Are you my friend or not. Don't laugh at me", she said with her pouty anger face.

"Okay! I won't laugh at my baby girl," Emily said.

Emily takes a look at her watch and said, "Oh no it's So late. I am going, Lisa. I have to make dinner at home otherwise it won't complete on time and my stepmom again started her drama".

She said Lisa this while smiling.

Lisa's heartache for her.

"She is in so much pain but she is still smiling brightly," Lisa thinks and smile her back.

"Bye," they both said to each other and bid farewell to each other and parted their ways.

Emily reached her house and starting preparing the dinner without changing her clothes.

When she completed making dinner. Brown most famous ladies Alina and Kylie both went into the dining room and starts eating the food happily.

Emily stands aside and waits for them to complete their food because they only gave her leftover to eat. And she is very hungry at that time.

Emily's stomach growled loud! And she lowers her head because she knows if Alina knew she is hungry then she just started playing with her and seriously she is very hungry at that time. She doesn't want to play with her. Because Alina just wants to humiliate Emily whenever she gets an opportunity. It's her favourite timepass. She loves to saw Emily in her miserable condition. When she cries she will satisfy and laugh at her.

"Why my life is like that?" Emily thoughts.

And it happened, Alina heard Emily's stomach rumbling.

"Not again" Emily prayed to god.
