The Lies That Bind: A Tale Of Trust and Betrayal

She was in her room looking at her family pictures. She smiled and sighed in relief. She murmured to herself 'This is the life I choose, and I will have to take whatever it gives me'

As she was speaking to herself, the maid knocked on the door. "Madam, they are here".

Jeslyn smiles "I will be there". She touches up her makeup and comes downstairs.

Jeslyn Murphy, the First Lady of the Vee family, is arrogant and spoiled, gorgeous, calm, and honest. She is slim and tall, red hair, straight long legs, a perfect body shape with full breasts, she has an oval face, a sharp nose, and with small cherry lip, she is just gorgeous.

"First Lady". One of the ladies called, who is her best friend Camilla from high school.

Jeslyn smiled. "Camilla, why are you here? And where are the rest?" she asks, trying to keep her calm.

Camilla smiled and took out her phone. "um.. well I have something to show you".

She took her phone and asked,"What did you mean". She saw a video and played it. It is an intimate video of herself and a strange man. "Camilla, what is all this who posted it".

"Well, I did not post it, your husband did".

"My husband, no, you said that you were going to keep it as a secret". She yelled at her angrily.

"Dear Jeslyn, are you so naive? What makes you think that I am going to keep it a secret when I plan it all, you act so smart, yet you are dumb". Camilla said calmly, smiling at her.

"But you are trying to help me. You said that Franklin likes girls that are not virgins. That's the reason you arranged for a man to sleep with me. How could you do this to me? I hate you". She jumped on her, trying to tear her apart.

Franklin and the rest of the family rushed in and pulled them apart. Franklin pulled Jeslyn away from Camilla and slapped her across the face. "Jeslyn, how dare you? She is pregnant. You are so hateful, you even killed your child, our child".

"What do you mean by our child that we have never slept together". She is so confused and does not know what is going on again.

Camilla cried, resting her head on Franklin's chest. "Franklin, why did you slap her? We should be begging for her favor. We shouldn't have slept together. This child is a mistake". She walks to jeslyn and kneels. "Please spare my child's life, please don't kill him please". She begged holding her leg.

"What is all this"? She pushed her away, touching her head as some fresh memory came into her head. Why did she forget this memory? She saw clearly how Franklin made love to her. Why had Camilla been lying to her telling her that her husband did not love her and would never touch her until she was no longer a virgin?

Franklin's grandmother helped Camilla up. " Should not apologize to a woman like her. She kills her child and sleeps with another man claiming to love her husband and his family. Jeslyn, you are so disgusting".

"No, don't say that, I love Franklin and everybody. Camilla made me do all of that. She deceived me into doing that". She begged as she cried.

"And now you are putting all the blame on her, be responsible and take up the responsibility for what you did". Franklin's mother said, "Please take her out. I don't want to see a woman like her in my house again".

Jeslyn begged as the maid dragged her away. "Franklin, Camilla is a bad woman, please do not kill my child. I love you. Camilla plans all of this please".

Camilla smiled and waved at her. "Wait, Franklin, I will be back".

She went outside and dragged jeslyn to one side. "Look, I am helping you. Being a First Lady is a burden, and you always complain, so let me help you out for a will OK". She patted her cheek.

"wait Camilla ". She held her hand. "Why did you do all of that".

Camilla sighed. "Let's just say that I hate you, and you are too bossy and rude. I am your friend, not your maid, but you keep treating me like your maid, asking me to do all the dirty work while you've been the First Lady. I know I am so jealous you, that it should be me and not you, so I plan to take everything that you love away from you, especially Franklin. I feed him with lies, and he believes them".

"How could you do all of this to me Camilla?" Tears rolled down her cheek as she cried, holding her chest, which was hurting badly from all the hateful words Camilla had said to her.

Camilla smiled, enjoying Jeslyn's reaction. That's exactly what she wanted, and she is enjoying seeing her like this, because she has also felt like that before also. " Did you think that that's all no, I made you forget about your wedding night with the help of my friend. And it was so easy to do that. When I found out that you were pregnant, I fed you with abortion pees and told Franklin and his family about your abortion. They believed me and wait for you to tell them, but you never did because you know nothing about it, I make you believe that you are on your period. I did not know that you were going to believe that, but I did not know that you were that dumb, and you would believe that".

She pauses for a while and smiles. "But I think that that is not enough. I seduce Franklin and make him sleep with me. We get together and become a lover, but still I want more, so I plan all that and make you sleep with that man. That explanation clear. I did not want you to leave again, since I told you everything I guess I will have to kill you now".

Before jeslyn has time to digest everything that she has told her, she pushes her off the stairs and she falls now. She closes her eyes and says 'Had it been I had another chance, I would rewrite my story and make everybody that hurt me pay for what they did to me'.

She wakes up breathing hard, she stands up and looks in the mirror.

"Is everything a dream, why did I have that type of a dream, it is too real to be a dream". She said still checking herself in the mirror she looked so beautiful and younger just like a teenager.

"Jeslyn". Her mother called before coming inside without knocking on the door.

Jeslyn stood up and hugged her mother. "Mom". She sobbed as she called, in her past life she did not listen to her family and ran off to Marry Franklin despite her parents 's warnings, she ruined her own family in other to prove her loyalty to Franklin but, now swears in her heart to take care and protect her family.

"Jeslyn what is wrong". Her mother asked in surprise patting her daughter's back, she knew that her daughter was not that snuggling.

"Mom, I miss you, where are Dad and Andrew". Jeslyn asked wiping off her tears.

Her mother carried her cheek. "Why are you crying".

She shook her head and embraced her again.

Her mother patted on her shoulder. "You are no more a child so get dressed and prepare for work".

"Mom, what date is today".

"12th of July 2018". She replied and left her room.

Jeslyn widened in shock she is 3 years younger, she lived with Franklin for 2 years in her previous life and went through though and tomb with him believing that he also loved her back just like the way she loved him dearly.

Jeslyn gets dressed and leaves with her dad, she is going to start work today, and also meet Franklin her father's business partner she fell in love with him at first sight, uh it is all a fake story about falling in love at first sight rather than hate at first sight should be better, he pretended to be a very good friend to her father but deep down he is planning to ruin him but not again she is going to correct everything.

"Everybody this is my daughter, she is going to join work today please treat her well". Mr Murphy said with a wide smile, showing clearly on his face that he was happy about his daughter joining the company. But some people are not happy about it while some are satisfied by it.

"Mr Murphy don't you think that it is too early to bring her to work, I mean that she is too young and still has a lot to learn".

Mr Murphy smiles and looks at him coldly. "That is why I want you to teach her, and make her learn because she is going to be the vice president soon".

"What?" What he said shocked everybody and they couldn't hide their expression.

Jeslyn looked at all of their shocked expression and chuckled. "Are you surprised? Did you think I was not capable? Or too young for the position, so who among you is fit for the position you should take it then because I know that all of you will ruin this company, those of you that did not want me to be in the position should just leave and sell their share to me". She knows they act like a coward but they have their plan on how to take over the company and hand it over to Franklin, she still remembers some of them who helped her and Franklin in taking down her father's company.

None of them dare to say a word so the meeting ends there.

Mr Murphy patted her daughter's back. "You are doing good I believe in you".

Jeslyn nodded and went to her office to handle some work, her father signed her an assistant that is going to help her with her work, and her department was assigned a work, so she was not ready to prove herself to anybody right now, she has more goal than that.

"Madam, Mr. Murphy called for you". Her assistant Holly said, Holly is so capable cold, and responsible so she did not mind her working with her because she was not going to ask any unnecessary questions, she was her father's most trusted person in her previous life so she did not doubt her at all.

"OK coming". She finished the work went to her father's office and knocked on the door before she entered his office.

"Come in jeslyn let me introduce you to Mr vee". Her father introduced her.

Jeslyn nodded at him instead of shaking his hand she was still not ready to face this man, she felt a sharp pain in her heart as if an old wound was reopening, she held her chest trying to act normal, she felt sad and hurt man she loves so much in her previous life is here and she did not know how to react to their meeting.

Nobody notices that her expression has changed. "Mr vee this is my daughter I am planning to get you two engaged".

"No" she hurriedly said and stood up. "I mean that I am not ready to get married now, so don't let us discuss this". She said and left the office.

Mr Murphy looks at her daughter cold back and smiles. "Don't worry I will talk to her, maybe is is stressed because today is her first day at work".

"Ok, I will leave that to you". He looks at the door in deep thought.

In jeslyn office she rests on her table and sobs holding her chest, why did she have to experience the same thing again, the same scene same words nothing changes, and is fate trying to play a game with her, the pain is too unbearable for her.

"Madam should I call the doctor? What is wrong?". Holly asked caring for her boss.

"No don't, I want you to buy Franklin company share as much as you can".

"Ok, ma". She answered without questioning her decision and that is why she like her, and the fact that she is honest, and kind, she is the only one that she can trust for now.

As she was working she got a message from Camilla.

'hey babe, don't forget about the get-together party'.

Jeslyn giggled. 'Camilla you have not changed'

'ok,' she replied.

What happened at the get-together is still clear in her head how everybody humiliates her calling her a villain while Camilla is pretending to be a kind person while she is the one that plans everything making her friends hate her because they think that she is the one that make their class teacher leave, because of what Camilla planted in her head making her believe that Mrs bliss hate her.

But now that she knows all about her plan she is going to spice it up a bit, and make everybody hate Camilla instead of her and it going to be so fun.

In the evening jeslyn leaves for the get-together, before she can get there everybody is already there they all look happy, smiling, and chatting she just wishes like not spoil their mood but what can she do?

"What is she doing here". Ava said one of her best friends before Camilla made her hate her, why did Camilla ruin her life so much, she just wished to have a peaceful life, but what could she do if they hurt her, she has to avenge her family if not herself.

"Hey jeslyn what are you doing here, don't come and ruin the get-together you spoiler". One of the sharp girls among them said boldly.

Jeslyn rolled her eyes and walked past her, she did not have anything to say to her. And get to business immediately.

"I know that some of you will be wondering why I am here today, well I am here to clarify some things, and I want you all to listen carefully, I am not the one that made Mrs bliss leave our school but someone else did and use me in other to make her leave". She said making everything clear to them.

Ava drags her hand. " Did you think that we all hate you because of that, no you posted some nude picture of me because you hate me, I thought that we are best friends why did you do that".

Jeslyn blinked in confusion and looked at all of their expression. "You think that I did that, I thought you believed when I told you that I did not". She bit her lip not believing what she was hearing, the reason she thought they hated her was all a lie, Camilla came up with that again and she believed her. ' oh Camilla you are so cunning than I thought you were, I underestimated you'.

"Oh come off it don't try to lie, Camilla showed us everything and told us that you hated me". Ava can't take how she is acting innocent anymore.

"Camilla did". Jeslyn said looking at Camilla's side.

Camilla bit on her lip pretending to be nervous. "Jeslyn I saw everything, the fake account that you created and the man you paid to help you snap her in secret........ I know I should not have told everybody... I make them hate you". She forces a tear out.

Jeslyn chuckled. "You are so cunny Camilla, how could you lie about all of that, I know that you were the one that created a fake account and posted the nude picture, not me". She hates the way she is lying and can not wait to uncover the truth about her.

"Why are you lying, everyone knows that you are the one that posted the picture and not Camilla, she is not like you, she is a good friend you should be thankful to her that she is trying to cover you up for all this year".

"Jeslyn". Camilla called in a low voice. "Please tell the truth".

"What truth is there to say, you did it and I have the evidence". She took out her phone to show them the evidence, but it was all gone she looked confused and checked again but it was all gone, how did this happen she was sure that she had the evidence before coming to the party what happened.

Camilla smirk. "What now, you can't find the evidence, how can you claim something that is not real you did everything and you are blaming me, how could you?".

Jeslyn did not know what to say or do, she was so sure that she had the evidence. The people started lamenting and cursing her calling her a bad name, what's happening?

Just when she did not have any hopes again a man in the other private room came outside and came to their room.

"Why are you cursing my girlfriend?". The man said with a cold deep voice.

Everyone at the door is surprised looking at the man that talks.

He walks closer to jeslyn and holds her hand. "Babe are they disturbing you, should we go somewhere private".

Jeslyn was also shocked about his sudden appearance, she was wondering whether this was also one of Camilla's plans but for now she had to grab it.

She smiles." Yes babe".

When she was about to turn and walk away with the strange man her phone vibrated, she checked it and saw that it was a message from Holly she sent her an apology followed by an email.

She chuckled." I have a gift for all of you". She sends the email to them before she turns and leaves with the man.

They read it in shock looking at Camilla. Camilla did not know what they were reading because she did not receive the message, she collected Ava's phone.

Looking at Ava she denied. "No it was not me, no don't look at me like that" she begged and asked all of them to believe her but that did not stop the people from talking and looking at her. She tightened her fist. 'jeslyn why did you do this'. She ran is out of the restaurant.

Outside the restaurant.

Jeslyn removes her hand from the man's hold. "Why did you do that, I hope you did not want anything in return, send your account I will send some money to you so don't show up to my face again". She said looking at him, she did not see him clearly in the restaurant maybe it was because of her thoughts or she was too busy to do that in that situation.

She checked him out, he was so attractive, striking, and classy, he had a perfect face that any lady with fall for, and a perfect body shape with a unique eye, she was lost in his eye for a while before she snapped back to reality, this is how it happened with Franklin she can't let that repeat itself.

"No thank you, I helped you earlier". He said with his deep voice staring at her gorgeous face, he couldn't help but marvel at her beauty. Her mesmerizing eyes seemed to draw him in, and he was lost in their depths. He could feel his heart racing as he drank in her stunning cold face, wondering how he could be so lucky to have such a gorgeous woman standing before him. He only meant to help her out not knowing that he would be lost himself.

"I did not ask for your help, don't act as if I begged you to help me out". She got in her car and drove away.

He snickered and his assistant came outside from the car. "Look for all information about her, I think I like her". He gets in the car and his assistant closes the door.
