The Last Daughter

Author: : Kem-Bee
Genre: Werewolf
Xyra Lumina Crescent, first born child to two full-blooded alphas and an alpha female. Xyra is hidden away from her pack, from the outside world and even from herself as she has no idea why she cannot shift or why she is hidden away in a temple to train, train and train. Far away from her family and younger siblings, Xyra sought freedom and to be able to be with her family. But she is trapped and watched by the ladies of the temple of females. A vision of an attack on her pack force Xyra to break free in other to save her parents who would die in the attack, and her people who would be taken hostage. Xyra returns home, but she does not just get the easy life she thought she would get. She discovers that maybe staying at the temple where life was easy was better after all. Who is Xyra? And what is The Last Daughter? ____ 'What will happen if he finds his mate and she dies?' I asked the most obvious question. Dad's wolf gave mine a look. 'Xyra, did you see anything?' 'Yes, not clear, but a strong enough warning. He's going to run mad, isn't he?' 'All lycans do when they lose their mates. Which is why the goddess restrain from giving them one.' Which was true. With how easy they lost their minds after losing their erasthasis, it was best they didn't have one. No one wanted a powerful lycan to go wild and wipe out an entire population, just because their soulmate died. It indeed was why they didn't get one too often. In fact, one could stay for a thousand years and not hear of a lycan finding a mate. They usually just fall in love and get married or get married without love. The king was the strongest like I read. If him losing his mate would turn him against the entire population of living creatures, then maybe it is my duty to protect her. Maybe, just maybe this is what I am meant to do.

Chapter 1 Prologue

My eyes squeeze tight as my ears twitch. I struggled to get my eyes open while pushing myself up to sit. When I do sit and open my eyes, I am in a cell. The walls are solid silver, the ground made of some kind of concrete material. I raised my hands, I was chained. I frantically looked at my legs. My fingers went up to my neck, a shackle laid there comfortably.

The girls were right.

At first, when my three best friends mentioned their theory of me being used and my wolf locked inside me intentionally, I didn't believe. Why would the ladies protecting me stop my wolf from coming out? From what I was told all my life, the moon goddess forbade me from shifting because my wolf was a devil and was too dangerous to others. If I should ever shift, she would go on rampage and destroy everything. It made sense, my hair, eyes and powers justified to that. But again, why do Lady Ursula always tell me that I'm more than good for them than I am in here? Why? Why would they keep me here against my will? Surely, my parents knew what was happening.

According to my friends, every year on the moon, they hear a howl, a very loud howl that always caused an earthquake. The ladies told them it is the combine shout of the wolves below that cause it, but April, my friend with the power to manipulate nature and animals said the howl sounded familiar, like it belonged to one person she knows. She said it always felt like the wolf was calling out to her and it caused her extreme pain every time she didn't reply.

"What if it's you, Xyra? What if the power of the moon is so strong it causes you to shift, but the ladies don't want you to shift, so they tie you down?" She had asked. And she was right.

"The wolf's howl is filled with sadness, loneliness, anger, and so much hatred. Whenever I hear it, it breaks my heart and tear me apart. I just couldn't make sense of it."

They were all right.

Why didn't I always remember this after I leave? The one thing I always feel like I'm forgetting. The ladies would remove my memory of this place. Now my friends already planted the idea, I knew they would remind me. I did as Moira instructed, I reached into my mouth and touch the tracker twice. It was to assure them that I was fine and yes, they were right.

I screamed as a sudden wave of pain vibrated through my brain. The charge of currents flowing into my head put everything on hold and made me hold my head. My fangs scurry out of it depths and push hard against my lips.

Images displayed itself in my head. At first, it was a rush, but then it slowed down. It was a stream, a small stream. A little girl was hopping from rock to rock as she held the hem of her dress. She was singing a song, a nursery rhyme, as she hopped. She jumped on the bank of the stream and clapped with a giggle.

I watched her skip on, swinging her dress and pigtails bouncing behind her. She looked familiar, very familiar. Her hair was dark brown and swishing from left to right. I looked at her face, so familiar... Mum! Mum! She looks exactly like mum! I wondered if it meant she was mum when she was younger. Then I remembered, mother had buff hair and hazel brown eyes, not grey.

I was still wondering what it was as I ponder over it. She stopped walking and gasped. I could hear howls, loud howls, coming from the woods. The girl panicked and ran, her little feet rushing off deeper into the forest. I could feel her fear, I could hear her start to cry as the beasts chased her.

"Mummy! Daddy!" She screamed. She was just six, or seven. She tripped over a fallen branch and cried harder. The girl, the girl... my head hurts, as if trying to tell me something about the girl, who she was. She scrambled to a tree, sobbing as the wolves surrounded her, seven werewolves. They were rogues, I could almost taste their smell at the tip of my tongue.

The leader shifted back to human while laughing. "Well, well, well, look what we have got here, it's a little stray wolf. What happened? Your family abandoned you?" He mocked. She shook her head. "She's from Crescent pack, I can smell them all over her. Whose daughter are you?" When she raised her terrified eyes to meet the tall guy, my trance world froze.

My sister!

The kid was my sister, she was my sister. I started panicking for her, started screaming inwardly with fear because I couldn't do anything to help her. The rogue leader screamed after sniffing her.

"She's a Crescent! His daughter! Look at the birthmark on the back of her palm!" And just like that, he shifted back into his savage beast and launched himself at the girl. I screamed with horror and blocked out the vision. He killed her! That was the girl I saw before, that was the girl in the rogue's mouth.

My body raked with sobs, my sister was going to die very soon. I was lost, confuse, sad. I wanted Majesty to comfort me, but she was always silence before the moon. I opened my eyes. I blinked away the tears from my eyelids as I continue to sob. I wasn't in the prison any more. I was somewhere else, a peaceful and quiet pack house.

The children were playing hopscotch, parents, and adults carrying out their normal duties. A man stood in front of the pack house, barking angry instructions at some men. His dark locks curled at his forehead and neck, his eyes were flickering from his wolf's iron grey to his smoke grey eyes. He looked terrible, and it seemed as if he had been crying with the bags under his eyes.

My father, my darling father.

His shoulders sag as he sighed sadly, "I can't lose another daughter, please, find her," he sounded beaten, defeated, like he was going to break down.

Another daughter?

"We are trying," one said, "but we can't-"

"No!!!" A scream came from inside the house. Dad stood up straight and looked into the house. But before he could move, mother burst out of the house, her hair a mess and face swollen from tears. She threw herself on father as she broke into an uncontrollable wail.

"Eleanor, what happened?" Dad asked as he tried not to panic.

"She's dead, they killed her, she's dead. I felt it, I felt it. They have taken another daughter from me! They took her just the way they took Xyra! They have taken my Lulana!" Dad's face fell as the news pierce into his heart. The men in front of him bowed their heads in sorrow.

Some bunch of rogues burst into the pack, a sudden war enfolded the place. I was lost in the cries and battle, lost in the fire. My mother died before the battle even started, and my father was too weak to fight, having to deal with two deaths. And when that rogue leader came with my sister in his mouth, he snapped completely and went completely feral. I watched as my father attacked every wolf, including his own. He killed and ruin everything until a younger version of mum, another sister of mine, jumped on his back and buried a spear into his skull. She had no choice, she had no other option.

The battle was over, but my pack was ruined. Crescent Pack would be destroyed. The vision ended with me on my knees, crying my eyes out as everything registered. One information stuck to me more than any other, the one thing I needed.

The ladies told my parents I was dead.

Chapter 2 Who are these girls

The young werewolf hopped from rock pad to rock pad, swinging her tiger printed dress as she sang the new song her teacher taught her. Her mother was sad again, sad because her big sister's death anniversary was coming up. She didn't like the way her mother would always be before and after the memorial, so she decided to cheer her up. The girl went to fetch her favourite flowers but since she couldn't find them in the pack territory, she went out to look for it. Her parents had no idea when she left. They didn't need to know, she'll be back before they suspect. That was what she thought until she ended up lost.

The girl wasn't scared, just worried that her mother would be worried. She'd been away from home for days, feeding from the fruits of trees she come across. She thought of her wolf...

If I had my wolf like my older sisters, she would help me find my way back or make it easier for daddy to find me.

But she didn't have her wolf yet, she was only a month above seven. She had to find her way on her own, and it wasn't going so well.

Her mother would be crying, her father freaking out, Isla, her sister, would be sad, but Zira wouldn't care. Zira was her eldest sister, the next alpha. She didn't possess the quality of an alpha for reasons her father didn't know, but she was his first living child so she was the next. Zira wasn't like Isla who was sweet, kind, gentle, and understanding. She was more of arrogant, self-centred, demeaning and careless, very careless. Isla had more dominating aura than her but her father still insisted Zira Rude becomes the next alpha. Zira was thirteen and recently got her wolf. Isla was eleven but already has her wolf. She shifted at ten which her father thinks is remarkable.

L wished she could shift too.

The girl knew that if her father don't find her soon, her luck would run out. She could die of hunger, cold or even rogues. There had been a lot roaming about that she manage to avoid, but it wouldn't last. The pup yearned for her mother to be beside her, to hug her. She might be brave, but she was only just a pup.

No, Lulana, don't cry, don't cry... She recited in her head.

"Don't cry, Lula, don't cry

If you cry you'll be a big baby

So don't cry, don't cry

Daddy will find you." She sang out. She kept singing as she continue to walk into the forest. Her scandals was almost worn out. Her dress was covered with splashes of mud, dirt and twigs. She had dirt allover her face and hands too and she was tired.

Then she heard it, a vicious bark coming not too far. Her young nose picked up on the stench, the really bad one. The girl gathered her dress into her small palms and ran. Heavy paws and snarls followed her movement, they were after her. The girl's young heart pounded against her chest as her breathing quickened. The rogues were after her and this time, she knew she wouldn't be able to avoid them this time.

Her feet carried her as fast as she could. She jumped over fallen branches, crushing twigs and insects with her legs. She manoeuvred her way around trees, pushed protruding branches out of her way, not daring to glance behind her. She could hear them, she could almost feel their hot breath scorching her skin. She knew running away was a waste of time, but her survival instinct pushed her forward.

The sound of their heavy paws getting closer reached her ears before her little body was suddenly flying across the forest and slamming into a tree. A little cry left her mouth, her ears pounding violently immediately. Her breathing stopped for a few seconds, before it came back to her with a sharp wheeze. Her body fell down from the tree, collapsing on the ground with a cough. Tears rolled out of her eyes, her body scrambling away from them. She didn't need to look to know she was surrounded. Cowardice men who would hurt a child.

With her eyes closed, she counted seven, their presence made it obvious. She heard the snapping of bones, indicating one shifting. She wiggled her stuffed nose, their stench made her sick to her stomach. Even though she had no wolf, she was still the daughter of two alphas and could perceive well. She felt him draw closer and bend over her.

"What do we have here?" He asked, grabbing her bicep in his tight palm. He easily lifted her up the ground, using her bicep to hold her up. Pain radiated from where she was held, causing a sob to leave the lips of the young one. The rogue scoffed, tossing her back on the ground.

"She's from Crescent pack, I can smell them allover her. Whose daughter are you?" The girl whimpered with fright. The moment she mentions her father's name, she'd be dead. But again, she would die either way. That theory was proved when he growled. "She's a Crescent! His daughter! Look at the birthmark on the back of her palm!" She screamed as he growled, continuing screaming as the sound of his adjusting bones reached her ears. This was it, she was going to die, her future would end.

All she wanted to do was to make parents happy again. All she wanted was to gladden her mother's heart. Her second eldest sister was right. She was nothing but a mindless child who thought she could bring happiness to everyone that cross her path. Now, she has done nothing but destroy her family even more. Her mother would commit suicide once she hears of her death, and her father, well, he's was as good as dead. Her sister, Isla, she could already see how depressed she would be.

She opened her eyes, her heart stopping when she saw the large open mouth of a large brown wolf coming to her. But just a few inches away from her, the wolf was flying and slamming through trees. Before she could register what was happening, thick floral vines dashed out of the tree, snapping around her body and lifting her off the ground. She screamed a bit, but stopped with a gasp when she found herself in the arms of a girl. She didn't have the time to look at the young girl holding her because of the frightened howl of the wolves.

She turned her head back to the wolves, quick enough to see a blue current of wind pass through one of the wolf. Immediately the wind went through the body of the wolf, it stiffened. Before her very eyes, the wolf turned into a ice statue. She caught sight of another girl, boredly wagging her index finger, a pink glow encasing it. She was shocked when the glow covered the frozen wolf and his body flew off the ground and dropped, smashing to pieces. A swift movement passed her eyes, and she saw another girl stand in front of a wolf, but before she could see what happened next, the girl carrying her pressed her face into her shoulder, so she won't see the horrible sight before her.

Loud painful cries echoed in the forest before it went silent. The scent of million flowers from the girl holding her filled her stuffed nose and somehow disoriented her. "Well, that was no fun," she heard a slightly deep but feminine voice snort out. "I was so bored I almost levitated my eyes."

"April, get her out of here, she can't see the frozen and ripped bodies." She didn't know whom among them said that, but the chill that ran down her spine was terrifying. The voice sounded cold, light, but cold as in icy cold. How that was possible, she didn't know, and she didn't feel like caring. They saved her, that mean they are good people, right?

"It's okay, baby, you'll be fine." She felt warmth pass through her body from hearing the voice of the person holding her. It was gentle, soft, and delicate. It made her think of flower petals. The girl she guessed was the April, removed one hand from her body. She felt the girl jump, and from the rush of wind and the snap of ropes, she wondered what was going on. She dared lift her head, gasping when she saw that the girl was jumping from tree to tree. Before her weight rest on the branch, she was off jumping to another tree.

Who exactly is this?

April jumped on the ground, so effortlessly the little girl marvelled at how light on her feet she was. "There, safe." The little girl looked at her trembling hands, she was clinging onto the stranger like her life depended on it. She didn't even know her body was shaking and that she was crying. The whole thing left her in shock. April stroke her hair gently, rubbing her back at the same time. "It's okay, we won't hurt you, and we won't let anyone do either. I promise, you're safe with us."

"She has been lost for five days, she's brave and smart," the deep feminine voice said, making her flinch. When did she get there? The new comer reached her hand forward and touched her head. The girl felt a little unsettle tingles in her head. She suddenly felt relaxed, like the single touch assured her for real. The deep voice smiled.

"Her name is Lulana," she looked around, seeing two more girls. They were all so gorgeous, even if one made her a bit frightened in a way. Wait how did she know her name? She hadn't spoken a word since she was saved.

"Lula, my name is Xyra and these are my friends, we are here to help you," the one who spoke had a light and melodious voice, a familiar smile on her face. It reminded her of her father's. "The girl holding you is April, our goddess of plants and animals." Lula looked at the girl holding her, smiling weakly.

April was beautiful, any male would kill for her. She had semi-long amber naturally Permed hair, office green eyes, pale goldenrod skin. She wasn't that tall from what Lula could see, but she made up for it with her chest. Her chest was big, just like her mother's. Since her legs were wrapped around April's hips, she could tell it was large. She could already see the unmated males following her about if she should ever stay in their pack. April also looked like the gentle one who doesn't speak much and would rather spend her day reading books. Isla would love her if it's true.

"I'm Zephyr," that chill again. So, it was her. "In case you're wondering about the chill that runs down your spine every time I speak, it's because I'm a wereghost, a different kind. You'll get used to my voice soon enough." A wereghost? She didn't even know they exist, let alone see one? She must have been the blue breeze that froze the wolf. Lula's eyes brightened, she could already see a best friend big sister in this one.

"Zephyr, a powerful wereghost. Her own kind of wereghost is different. She is human, with all the abilities of a ghost, most abilities of a ghost and more. No one really knows her history, but she said that her father was a level sixteen ghost who took the form of a human to chase the woman he fell in love with. Her psychic mother fell in love with him and they had her. The weird offspring some hunters tried to eliminate before the ladies took her away. Zephyr is blonde; brownish gold and honey blonde. Her eyes are grey and her lips ruby red. She almost looks Korean. She is tall, slender, and pale, very pale bluish white skin. She looks more of a vampire than a ghost, but again, vampires and ghost share one thing in common; they are both dead. She is beautiful, just has a fierce adorableness to her scary look." Zephyr said proudly. Her friends gave her weird looks.

"What?" She asked innocently.

"What are you doing?" April asked.

"Describing myself?" Zephyr asked back, staring at April like she was the dumbest person on the planet. Lula giggled. She definitely liked that one.

"As you can see, Zeph is an idiot, so ignore her. I'm Moira, my power doesn't really have an easy classification, but I can manipulate gravity and technology, and I'm a telepath. So yes, as we speak, your every thought is being played to us, so we can understand you better. That'll explain why Zephyr is describing herself-"

"And I'm her big sister best friend!" Zeph squealed, flying into the air and spinning, giggling profusely. Lula was surprised she could fly, but decided not to be surprise with anything that deals with them.

"And, I'm Xyra," Lula looked between Moira and Xyra. Gosh, Xyra was gorgeous, and that smile. Moira obviously looked like the tech brain of the team, really intelligent. Taller than April, shorter than Xyra and Zephyr. Slim, short but shiny black hair, brown eyes and pale mild ivory complexion. Yet again, she didn't look innocent at all. It reminded her of her gamma's daughter, Fina.

Xyra, on the other hand, looked different from the others in a sort of way. She was abnormally beautiful, as if an enchantment was placed on her to hypnotise men. Looking into her eyes, she couldn't help but think of her family trait. Her father's lineage was known for their brown or grey wolves and, of course, the grey eyes and brown hair. Every child born into the family get the hair and necessarily, the eyes. If the person's wolf is grey, he or she gets a brown streak on his or her back. Same thing goes if the person's wolf is brown. Xyra's eyes were azure, azure and smoke grey. It wasn't exactly, but she couldn't fathom why she thought of her family.

"I couldn't escape either colours so they both made themselves comfortable in my eyes. Although at night, the grey completely disappears. It's weird, I know." Xyra said, smiling gently. That smile. Why did she think of her father again? Xyra's hair wasn't brown, not even a tint. She had azureish white hair with one third of the edge, azure. The white mixed with azure mist.

Then it hit her.

Her mother showed them the three years old version of her eldest sister, and her name was... "Xyra? Xyra!" Lula gasped. Xyra smiled, her sister was definitely smart.

"Yes, it's me, your sister. I'll explain to you later, but first, we need to find the pack. It's about to be ambushed. We might have slowed the attack down by killing one of the leaders, but the others will. I know you don't remember how to get back, but Moira can retrace your steps through your memories. I need you to trust her, open your mind to her so she can find home, to save our family." Lula nodded eagerly. Moira placed her hand on her head again and her other hand on Zephyr's, so she'd directly see the direction.

She felt a little pressure in her mind, but it was gone as soon as it began. Zephyr snapped her eyes open, a bright blue overtaking it. Lula watched with awe as her body shimmered before turning transparent. "Hurry, Zephyr, warn my parents, get the pack ready before it's too late."

"On it." Zephyr whooshed into the air, zooming off with a large puff of cold air. Before she disappeared out of sight, she transformed into a blue gush of wind and was zipping off.

"So cool." Lula thought.

"Well then, let's get you home, little sister."

Chapter 3 Welcome home

Xyra's viewpoint

Stepping back into my pack was something I had dreamt of for years. Of course, I didn't remember when I left, I was just two weeks old when I was taken to the castle. I'd never been in the pack, or another and indeed I had dreamt about how it would be like.

Lulana was asleep on my back as I walked closer to the park territory, the place I would soon call home. She made small moans as she stir on my back. I bounced her up gently, though because I was nervous. Zephyr meet up with us after warning us, and from the smell of blood and rotten flesh, the fear hanging in the air and the sweats, I could tell the battle was already over and my pack was safe.

"You ready?" Moira asked softly. I looked at her nervously and gulped. "There is nothing to be afraid of, they would love you,"

"What if they judge me? What if they feel like I'm a threat? What if they don't want me?"

"Then they can go ahead and fuck an electric eel, because they are stuck with you. Xy, you are the alpha female of this pack, so they better deal with it." Zephyr said cheekily. I smiled thankfully at them.

"And we would be here for you the whole way. Not just because we don't have where to stay, but because we are not going anywhere without you." April added.

"Group hug," Zeph chirped.

"You'll wake her," I chuckled. I stopped chuckling as I saw the boundary of Cresent Pack. I inhaled deeply to calm my nerve. Moira placed her hand on my shoulder and squeezed it assuredly while Zeph squeezed my left palm.

"You'll be fine, Xy, trust me." April whispered.

"I hope so,"

"I know so,"

"Thanks, girls. Let's go."

'Oh, for Pete's sake, get this shit over with already,' meet Majesty, my wolf whom I had never seen but had to deal with. Majesty claimed her name; she lived by her name. She's proud, conceited, self-centred and a drama queen. Majesty is always right, never wrong and hate challenges. She nags at everything she thinks doesn't befit a queen like herself, throw a tantrum over anything she doesn't like or understand, and never agrees to any other logic other than hers. She can argue and have never lost one to me either. I let her because I get to suffer a migraine after one or two of her tantrums and drama.

It's not easy living with trouble in your head.

I saw her face sometimes, but again, it felt like I didn't. When she paced in my head, she was nothing but the shadow living in my mind. In order to escape, I forced myself to shift. The girls said they saw Majesty and she was magnificent, but wouldn't tell me how. They said it would be a surprise when I shift with consciousness. I had both a bad and good feeling about it.

Until then.

I mentally inhaled or maybe that was Majesty. We made our way into the pack, following Zeph since she was there before us. We were all exhausted and just needed to rest, like sleep for forty eight hours and then eat everything in sight. Though I doubt April would join the eating party.

We walked over dead rogues, injured ones trying to escape which Zeph killed, but luckily, none from my pack. We finally came to the open part of the pack, where all the houses were located. Eyes were on us as we walked pass, me especially. They could feel it, they could tell I was an alpha, their alpha. We kept walking until we got to the front of the alpha house. There was an elderly man and some nurses tending to the injured warriors, while their relative stood by to support their injured family. I held my breath when I saw mum helping a child's mother clean her wound while a girl of probably eleven or twelve held her kit for her.

Mum was a doctor, head doctor of the pack. At least, she was the last time I checked. The eleven years old looked a lot like mum, and the signature brown hair and grey eyes couldn't be more obvious.

"There, all done. Moses, is there any more injured?" Lula sneezed, dragging their attention to us. I was surprise they hadn't even notice us. Immediately mum saw me, the needle in her hand fell as she gasped. I gave her a nervous smile.

"Hi, mum?"

"Xyra? Xyra, is this... Oh my God..." She rushed over to me and yanked me into a tight hug, embracing Lula at the same time. Mum burst into tears as soon as we were in her arms, causing Lula to wake up.

"Mummy?"

"Yes, baby, it's me, you are home... Xyra, I thought you were dead, they told us you died,"

"Uhm," I didn't know how to react, I didn't know what to say. I was confused between relaxing in her embrace or crying along with her or doing both. I don't cry in public, so that was where the confusion was coming from. "And I thought you guys abandoned me there," mum pulled away from me with a gasp.

"We would never. We came to get you when you turned twelve, but then they told us you died in your sleep, that the moon goddess took you back from us. I didn't know what to do, I didn't. I thought I was going to return with you, to complete our family but I was wrong. Xyra, your father and I would never abandon you, ever-"

"I know that now. Can you take Lula inside? She is as exhausted as we are. We've been walking for a week now."

"Of course," she carefully took Lula off me. I avoided looking at anyone else as I searched for me father. "Mum, where's dad?"

"Xyra! My princess!" My eyes cloud up as I heard his voice. Before I could turn around, I was lifted off my feet and thrown in the air. I screamed with fear and delight, before I fell into his thick arms and was snuggled in. "You're alive! You are back! I thought that flying girl was crazy when she said you still breathe air. When I get my hands on those thieves, I'd make sure they wish they never mess with me..."

"Dad, I need to breathe," I gasp.

"Oh, sorry," he released me from his tight embrace and patted my back. I sniff to hold back my tears before looking up at the only man I love, the one I missed most. "You are so thin, what have they been feeding you there,"

'Vegetables, stupid vegetables.' Majesty grumbled.

"Come inside first, you all need to rest-"

"And eat, before I pass out. And my name is Zephyr, not flying girl. Repeat after me, Zep-hyr, or Zeph, anyone you like as long as you can pronounce it-"

"Zeph, be quiet," April whispered harshly.

"Can I eat now? April is starting to look like dancing broccoli again," Moira sighed.

"Hey! Why do I always have to be vegetables? I control plants doesn't mean I am one,"

"Pretty much sure that is what you are, broccoli," and they never know when to stop.

__________

"Xyra, Xyra, wake up," someone whispered. I groaned.

"Ten more hours,"

"Xyra, you have been sleeping for three days, it's time you wake up," the person insisted.

"Just ten more hours," I pleaded. I threw the covers over my head, only to have it yanked away. "Oh, let me sleep," I whined.

"Xyra, darling, you have to eat at some point,"

"Must I eat? I want to sleep," I murmured. Another person chuckled.

"Finally found someone who took over from you," dad, that was dad's voice.

"Just wake her up already, she has to eat. Look at how thin she is. My wolf won't stop nagging me to get more flesh into her pup, wake her up." The first person was mom. I opened my eyes, raised my head and looked at them over my shoulder. Mum sat at the side of the bed, the comforter in her hands, while dad stood close to her.

"Good morning, beautiful, rise and shine?" I threw my head back on the pillow with a puff. Dad chuckled again. "Come on, princess, wake up, your sisters want to see you,"

"And your friends miss you," mum added. I snorted.

"Zephyr is still pretty much dead on her bed, same as Moira. The only one up would be April," I said as a matter of fact. Dad laughed while mum growled, or rather, her wolf.

"Xyra, stand up so I can feed you!" I turned on my back and whined.

"I don't want to be fed, I want to sleep,"

"Yup, definitely like you, Eleanor,"

"Stop encouraging her," mum snapped, "now get her up," I sat up before dad did whatever he wanted. "Better. Now wash up. I left some of my old clothes for you in the wardrobe, get into one. Later when I see some improvement in your weight, you can go shopping with your friends. Now stand up,"

"Then I can sleep?" It was the first time in my entire life I was allowed to sleep for straight 72 hours. I need more but no, mum won't let me.

"No, you already slept enough," mum snapped.

"Says the woman who sleeps for six days without shaking," dad murmured. Mum glared at him.

"Don't encourage her or you are grounded,"

"You can't ground me, I'm your husband, not your kid," mum gave him a bored look, "yes, ma, I'll go back to work immediately. Bye, princess," dad waved at me before scurrying out. Mum turned her bored look to me. If she could ground dad, then who am I to disobey?

"Fine, I'm coming, just give me a minute." She smirked before standing up. Still the boss, I see.

Once she was out, I stood up, ran to the door and locked it. I threw myself back on my bed with a joyful sigh. Who needs food when you got a soft bed? My stomach answered me with a growl.

"Fine, stomach, you win. I also need to wake Zephyr anyways,"

I stood up from the bed and went about the room to get ready. In less than twenty minutes, I was done bathing and all dressed up. I went over to the room Zephyr and Moira shared. April and I got our own room because we called it first. Zephyr was sleeping on top of Moira, don't even know how that happened.

"Zephyr, the king of Atlantis is here to ask for your hand in marriage," she flew up from Moira with a squeal, changing her position to a sitting one.

"I do! I will! I will marry him!" I broke into laughter as I fell back on the chair in the room. She looked around in confusion. "Where's my king?"

"I can't believe this still works on you," I laughed. Moira groaned and pushed her off.

"Good gracious, who is that mosquito singing? Get away, I'm almost at the best part," she complained.

"Moira, there's a spider on your head," Moira screamed with flight, throwing herself off the bed by rolling over while hitting her head to kill the spider that wasn't there. She kept rolling and screaming as she continued to hit herself, transferring the hit to her body.

"Get it off! Get it off!"

"Oh, goodie," Zeph giggled mischievously. She got off the bed, stood over Moira's rolling body and cracked her knuckles evilly. "Moira, the spider is on your face, I'll get it," Zeph bent down and gave her a divine wakening slap. She threw herself on the bed as she joined me in laughing. The slap snapped Moira into a perplex state. She sat down and watched us laughing, as she trying to register what happened.

"You guys did that thing to Moira again," April sighed as she lean her body on the doorframe. Moira's eyes darkened, she was starting to know what was happening. I quietly stood up and slipped out. I pushed April in and slammed the door shut.

"Hey! Why are you locking me in here!"

"You devils! You lied about the spider!" Moira screamed.

"I didn't do anything, it was Xyra, I swear," April said panickingly. I jumped when Zeph appeared beside me still laughing. I started laughing too.

"I'll kill you!"

"Wait, wait, it wasn't me... Help!" Zeph and I ran away still laughing after we heard the mighty thud. Moira used her powers to make April weigh two thousands pounds and slammed her on the floor. I think the floor broke and she fell below. We ran over to the lower floor to check if she fell. There was a giant hole in the floor. Zeph and I looked down. April fell through and through.

"Oops, sorry, April," I laughed.

"Hey! Who burst a hole in my kitchen!"

Uh oh.
